Lots of good places to sit with a view, whether at the bar or the big room with a projector. The bartender Tim was as friendly as can be! Set easy to talk to! Great service! Came here a while back for an Arsenal match and to try some beers. My family is very into soccer and I had heard this is the place if you are. I dont believe they had any food, there was a food cart out front but it wasn't open so we ordered some burgers from Doug's which is right there. The burgers were outstanding. The beers were very solid...kind of some unique ones. I had a fresh hop ipa and a pepper beer. Also got the scotch ale to go. I will be back anytime im up in the Bellingham area. They have great beer names for great beer. It's dog friendly, bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, and it's in a good location where food is just a hop skip and jump away. Personally, I'm partial to their darker beers but like every good brewery in town, they have IPAs that I think are typically a cut above the rest. They don't all use fresh hops, but somehow they seem like fresher beer? It can get pretty loud in the summer, but that's because it's popular. There is a decent size taproom with a few tables outside for when the weather is nice. All in all a nice little brewery and a well-deserved spot on the Bellingham Beer Map! read more

I particularly liked their fresh hop, which was both tasty and also surprising to find at a brewery of this size. The staff was very helpful and is why I'm giving them a five star rating. The beertender was very polite, knew the beers very well, and was happy to let me sample the beer. Menace is a sweet, smaller brewery located in Bham's up-and-coming Fountain District. A long time in the making, I was more than excited when they finally finished their space and started serving up the tasty brews. At first they only had a few beers on tap, but recently brought on a new brewer and - wow - was I surprised to visit this week and see so many new beers I had trouble choosing just one. My fave is the Menace Red. It's a great combo of hoppy *and* malty and has become one of their signature beers. I was excited to notice they also had a barrel-aged beer. My friend ordered it and gave me a sip - it was tasty! Menace's open-concept tasting room is sweet. You can sit with friends next to the brewery operation, or at their very welcoming little beer bar. They have a few chips on hand for snacks, and there's always a food truck (The Wurst Wagon) outside. The best thing about this little tasting room, though, is that I'm always welcomed with a smile. It definitely has that local, neighborhoody Bellingham feel and - combined with the good beer - it's why I keep going back. read more

Ahhh! I am so excited for this place. The new owners have really upped the stakes! Before this place was not my favorite. We had several undesirable interactions here. Not to mention the beer was terrible. But enough about what it isn't anymore! The beer is so much better. It actually has flavor and personality. The whole place has personality. The staff is friendly and inviting. They have live music and comedy nights. If that is not your thing just check out their schedule for a more quite night or day. They have some cards and a few board games if you are into that The parking is still pretty awful and el Rey (the restaurant next door) is a stickler for towing. But there is more street parking than the fellow breweries downtown proper. They do not have food, but you can order food from El Rey. I know from experience they make some amazing food. All in all I am very excited to see where this place goes from here! read more

Menace Brewing was yet another brewery that I was eager to see open in town! Sometimes waiting for breweries to open is like waiting for a pot to boil. The wait can feel like a very long and sometimes it actually is! I have been to Menace Brewing twice now. And both times I have had the irresistible urge to get the same beer. Both times I got the Chili Bravo. The Chili Bravo is a spiced or herb beer with a strong pepper flavor but isn't necessarily spicy hot. I love pepper beers and Menace is right up there with one of my favorites as far as that kind of beer goes. The service is here is pretty good. The first time I was here there was a guy that was the bartender that seemed a bit aloof but was alright. This last time was a girl who was the bartender who was super friendly and very eager to please. The tap room is cool, it is dog friendly and it's always great to be around canines and the brewery itself is located in the Fountain District which is a fun little neighborhood. read more

What a cool little brewery, and I love the name. Conveniently located in the Fountain District. This place is easy to miss, and having driven by it for years when it was an autobody shop, this is going to take some getting used to. The staff are super helpful and when I asked a simple question like "whats the red like?" I received are far more details answer than I expected. The bartender later revealed that she judges beer in competitions. Really cool to get that kind of detail from such a simple question. On warmer days the garage doors are open giving Menace Brewing a very open air environment. Oh.. and did I mention the great beer. I couldn't give Menace a 5 star rating if I didn't love the beer. They appear to have 3 parking spots behind the building, and if you don't get those then there is street parking, which is usually abundant in the Fountain District. I look forward to my next visit to Menace. read more

There was a hole in my life when Menace went on hiatus from brewing in Ferndale (their former creation location), and stopped serving their beer at The Local. But they've thrown the doors open on their brand new beer bar here in B'ham, and I'm here to tell you? It was worth the wait! Their beautiful new location in the heart of the Fountain District is once again brewing up those tasty offerings that I love so much. They're even serving up Chili Bravo, one of my absolute favorite beers in all of Bellingham! So congratulations to Ben, Tom, and the gang . . . you've done yourself proud! Just one complaint, and I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to blame Menace for this, but I think I may need to get the steering fixed on my car? Having driven by it countless times, we finally stopped in - and realized we really should have started coming here sooner. The beer selection was great for my husband, and there were lots of local cider options for me - more than at most other breweries in town and at very reasonable prices. Stopped by on a random sunny Wednesday night on my way home walking via a route I had never taken before. I actually was just going to stop to have a beer and use the restroom, but the food truck parked outside made my stomach rumble. I ended up sitting for several hours, reading a book and enjoying the fare from the Wurst Wagon (also, highly recommended). I wish I had discovered the joy of their patio earlier in the summer, as I can imagine meeting friends in that outdoor space is just delightful. The beer selection is excellent and there's usually a root beer or something available for the small people. Definitely a neighborhood hangout kind of feel, with kids and dogs running around. Everybody seems to know at least one or two people, and people stop in to fetch growlers of the housemade beers. Will come back as often as my budget will let me, since it's only a few blocks from my house. read more

This is a very minimalist brewery. It was an autoshop that has been converted. The car ramp has been converted into high tables. I had the foreign extra stout which was very drinkable. The Ciderhead's Bellingham Extra is an excellent cider. I'll be back. read more

Absolutely love this place! The beer here is not like anything you can find anywhere else in Whatcom County. There is something here for almost everyone (even if you don't drink beer they have something for you). Everyone that works here is very friendly and knowledgeable about what they have. Oh my goodness, this place is right up my alley. Right on up there! Good beer, great atmosphere, amazing sound level for verbal conversation. Good service and even super comfy booths! I got the nitro stout and it was scrumptious. I enjoyed putting it in my mouth and drinking it. I shall definitely return to this establishment. Pretty good. I think the brew style is just not the perfect fit for me. I do prefer a bit higher ABV beers and it's ok that theirs are all not so high. Some are in the 3-4% range... like they were brewed for sale in Utah. It's just a smaller, real micro kind of place, a little grubby and that's ok too. I didn't really see or taste anything that made me think delicious or fantastic. Would try again sometime but in a huge hurry to return. Sometimes I think that the craft beer revolution is resulting in some places that are trying to be a part of it cash in on the movement. Two strikes and you're out. A poor service experience killed it for us. My first experience with Menace was in late 2017; the selection of beer was limited with no options that really stood out to me as something I wanted. I went with an ESB which was, ok. My overall impression was "not really interested in going back unless invited by some friends who want to go there". That invitation came on February 9th, 2018 so we gave it another try. This next visit started out similar, pretty limited selection and I again chose a Bitter which was said to be "like an ESB but a bit lighter"; it was again, ok. There was a food truck this evening selling dumplings. We had some and they were a tasty snack. The part of our visit which defined the experience for us was when the bartender/hostess gal approached our table, got our attention, and commented to us that there was compost/recycling bin for the small paper dumpling tray on the table next to us. What was the issue with this you ask? I had already recycled our small paper tubs and bussed the glasses from our table. The tub on the table next to us wasn't ours and she left it there while making it clear she expected us to bus it. So at Menace we get to bus our own tables, and our neighbor's table, and tip? I'm out, service makes or breaks an experience and this was poor choice on the hostess' part to spend her energy directing us to clean up after other patrons rather than contributing to an enjoyable experience for us. This again was a single small paper tub and she walked directly past the recycle on her way back to the bar after instructing us to take care of it. Tip you ask? Yes, I have a tip... try providing better service to your customers. read more

Great little brewery. Good selection of beers, something for everyone. Super nice work on renovating an old 1940's era car repair shop. You can see where the old pits to get under the cars used to be. Plenty of room - save they need a bit more seating. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable about their beers and pour generous tasters if you want to taste one before buying. You can also bring food over from Hong Kong Garden next door or Cascade Pizza a two doors down. read more
