The hostess ask you right away "what would you like to drink this evening?" and takes your drink order with a smile. As she returns with you beverages she gracefully asks if you've had time to decide what you'd like for dinner. When the main course arrives and you've taken your first two bites you realize...the culinary professionals have absolutely captured the tastefulness of the Pacific Northwests cuisine. Your tastebuds dance with joy as wonder burst of flavors erupt on palate. You once again turn your attention to your wife as she explains "This is exactly what I needed." A lot has changed since my 2016 declaration that "beer and Lynden" are not often two words you associate with each other. Lynden now has a few hoppy outposts, including a second Overflow location on the west side. Guess I'll add that one to my list, too! This particular Sunday, we were looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a quiet beer and play a game of cribbage. I was excited to see Overflow was open (back in "the day" most Lynden businesses were closed on Sundays). We grabbed a couple of pints (just $5 ea!) and sat down for our game. The service was friendly, the place was uncrowded, and it was hard not to order a second pint before the long drive home to the Ham. Overflow, congrats on 10 years in Lynden! When I went in to pay our tab, I mentioned to the owner, in a polite way, "...hey the food was not worth the price..." One might expect the owner to apologize for the overpriced cold food, or to even ASK what was not good about it? Instead, this pompous individual says, "...NOW YOU KNOW..." and he walked away from me. Never again. They won't go out of business because of me. The dinners started with a very tasty Caesar salad, along with Texas toast. This is my only criticism. For a nice restaurant of this caliber, with such a fantastic menu, I would suggest a more discerning bread option. The aged steaks, and lovely German menu deserve something a little more upscale. I quickly grabbed tickets and we headed over. It was a nice, warm evening and there was plenty of seating in the large beer garden. We grabbed a couple of pints inside, and sat down for the show. It was a fun crowd, a lovely evening, and (more than once) I found myself wondering how I ended up at a weeknight outdoor comedy show in Sedro-Woolley! They had a bunch of delicious beers on tap, plus wine and cider too. They even have some pinball machines, which are hard to come by around these parts. In a county devoid of many taphouse options, I'll definitely be adding this spot to my regular rotation.

This establishment will see us again for sure! When we walked in they said they didn't have any tables available due to a large group reservation. Thankfully the owner came out of the kitchen and said the group had changed to tomorrow, lucky for us and the other couple that walked in right after us. All of us were newbies (they said they would be back too). The service was very good, the beer excellent, the onion rings and waffle fries also excellent, but the star for sure is the burger. I had the BBQ Bacon burger which features an oversized burger patty, along with the onion rings as a side. The char on the meat is fantastic, and the taste amazing. Maybe a little less bbq sauce, but that's a personal thing. The lively K had the single cheeseburger which was a good size for her and the waffle fries. We both ate half our burgers and got a to go box so we could finish the rings and fries. I've read the burger is as good the next day, so we'll see how that works. The Pac-Man console is the ultimate touch. Great place, highly recommended! Oh. The burgers were good cold the next day right out of the cooler as we were road tripping. Ate the half's at the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal!

Justin the bartender is too good to be true. Seemingly everywhere at once, making sure everyone has what they need. I happily lost 4 hours there.
