On a trip to Vancouver we drove through Bellingham and came across a few awesome breweries. One of them was Wander. The staff was friendly and greeted us and were happy to make suggestions when we asked. The space is super cute offering indoor and outdoor seating plus activities for adults and kids alike. They do have a food truck that was there but we had already eaten. We enjoyed the beer while we were there and would recommend people stop there if they are in the area. read more

Great selection of beers. My favorite is their "IPA Alive" seasonal but you can't go wrong with most options here. The space is open and airy and they have outside tables which are nice during the weather months. They have cool glasses to drink from, and they are kid friendly with juices and sparkling water options. My kids love drinking their water out of the fancy glasses and they don't drop their drinks, although if they did I'd certainly pay for the glass! I wish they listed their current beer options online, but it's a pretty basic site. Plus, that's the fun of visiting the taproom. I enjoyed the unassuming vibes of this brewery. I came on a quieter Friday afternoon/evening, and enjoyed some pineapple mango millie sour and grapefruit radler. The grapefruit radler was one of my favorite drinks that I've had so far among all the breweries in Bellingham, and I liked that they gave 5 oz pours for $2.50, which was more manageable for a light drinker like myself. The 1 star deduction is for the lack of food truck choices, compared to places in town. Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a casual hangout with a great drink selection! I met met up with friends here several times this summer. There are pros and cons, but I like this brewery very much. It's actually my favorite in town. Beer They have quite a few on the menu. I have only tried two different kinds: blonde ale and pilsner. You have to take it as a grain of salt, as I'm not a big drinker, but I really liked them both. Food They don't serve food, but there's a food truck. I really can't comment on the food because I've only had nachos and only once. But what I can say is something about the set-up itself. Because they don't serve food, there are no waiters, who keep checking on you. So, you just enjoy your time with your company. Stand up and go to the bar if you want more beer. Do the same with food. You can hang out here as much as you want. Ambience The building itself is like a warehouse (probably is). No ambience or whatever. I would not bring a date here. It's probably cold in winter. Wander was stop #3 on our Bellingham Beercation. It was a Saturday in the middle of the day and the place was packed. Nowhere to sit inside, so my husband and I got our beers and went outside. It was a cold and wet day, but Wander does outside beer gardens perfectly. They have a tent, and a nice gas fire pit. So despite the cold day, we were perfectly warm sitting outside. In fact, we stayed at Wander for a good 2 hours. Enjoying beers and good company from some locals, who gave us some good history on some of the breweries and some suggestions of where else to go on our Brew tour. They didn't have a lot of IPAs on tap, so we didn't bother sample trays, we both had a few pints. They don't do food here, but there was a food truck. Had an awesome sour here called the Plum Bob. Boozy at 7.4%. Fruity and tart. Husband ordered the Dog Lost Pilsner and enjoyed. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and friendly staff! It was also dog friendly on inside which was awesome since it was a rainy and windy day. Really liked the Pilsner glasses with the stems. TLDR: Wander Brewing is a laid back little brewery with some seriously flavorful brews! I found their beer to be very fruit forward, with even the IPAs being hazy and juicy. The staff was fantastic, the music modern indie, and the atmosphere perfect for a lazy Sunday. The Service The bartenders knew their beer inside and out, and were able to make great recommendations. Their description was spot on, and my flight was ready before I even finished paying! The Beer Coming from Texas, this was quite a culture shock! The über hoppy IPAs that I'm used to are nothing like these juicy, hazy, fruit forward brews. Wander has a number of barrel aged offerings that are really interesting. Best sour beers you'll ever have. We tried a whole flight of them plus their amber (Uncommon Common) and all were so enjoyable and different in their own delightful ways. Can't say there was a single beer we tried that I wouldn't buy again. Wander never disappoints. read more

Second time here and this place still is as good as remembered. The only is this time ( in summer) they do not have so many barell aged beer. Tried a number of IPAs (hazy, coffee, singles, doubles, and triples) and surpsingly, all were good and delicious (even the coffee IPA). So far, I have not had a bad beer here. As the times are what they are, it is worth mentioning the place is very Covid safe. They have reserved part of the parking lot for more tables to allow distancing. Additionally, all tables have a clean/dirty tag. When someone leaves they do an exceptionally cleaning of the tables, clean/dirty sign, chairs, etc. Highly recommend it read more

We have been going to every Brewery in Bellingham, and this has made the lists of my favorites (3rd to Aslan and Boundry Bay). We got here and tested out all of their beers (minus the sours) and the majority were pretty good. While the IPAs were better at some of the other breweries, I liked the dark beers here best. There were some great coffee and chocolate notes that worked well. First time in this brewery. The place itself is located between warehouses/ maybe the brewery itself was an old warehouse . Has Avery laid back vibe . I had the Pilsner and my friend had a cider . The brew was really good good probably one of the best I have tried in Bellingham. Service was helpful and prompt . The brewery itself doesn't serve food but there's a food truck sitting right outside serves Indian food. I personally didn't partake in eating but the food looked good and came highly recommended from our bartender . I will definitely be revisiting this place . read more

The gal that took my order was very helpful with my questions about the beer, and the beer in my flight ranged from fine-but-not-for-me to amazing (Googly Eyes DIPA and Early Bird BBA Stout). The vibe is very Bellingham -- chill, community oriented, lotsa dogs, and we appreciated that you can check out a board game (and they have a decent selection -- we played Splendor). Wander was cool. I have loved their beer for a long time. We grabbed one beer here as we had 2 other stops. The IPA I had was excellent. I think if we had longer I would have had a couple. The food truck was a vegan food truck, I have nothing against veganism, its just not for me. So we skipped eating. They do have a cool looking ice cream fridge and it probably would have hit the spot. Plus they had giant pretzels. I would definitely recommend. They have a ton of awards for a reason. read more

I looooove beer, therefore I love Bellingham! Lots of great breweries here! Many within walking distance of each other. Super convenient and a super chill environment. Families with kids (kids of the furry kind too) and lots of friends having a great time just relaxing. Outside there were tables and nice toasty fire pit you could belly up to as well. Wander had a good and diverse selection of beer. They do flights of 5! Of my chosen 5, I really liked the Glass is Half Full and the Shoe Toss. My favorite, surprisingly, ended up being the Plum Bob, a wonderful plum sour that was just lovely. I am not a sour beer fan, but this one was not too tart and super smooth. Wonderful. There was a food truck parked at the end too, so if you needed a pick me up as you made your way down their very long list of beers they had your back! The inside is very unique and we sat there for a while trying to figure out what this place reminded us of, and then one of our super smart friends told us that he assumed it used to be a ship port center (or something like that, I really don't remember) and it turns out he was right! This place feels a little big for the crowd that was there that night, but it's still a really cool space. The beers that we had were... Interesting. I had a Pumpkin Ale that tasted like every other Pumpkin Ale I've ever had, so there was no problem there. But, the sour beer that we got... Dear god. It literally tasted like puke. Everyone that got the sour beer thought the same thing, so I know it wasn't just in my head. I'm not in Bham often but I'd definitely come back to check out more of their beer selection (that's not sour)! read more
