    a pint of beer
    Kathie s.

Love the K2 location! They have both indoor and outdoor seating with a food truck in the outdoor area. The beer is yummy and the service is great. They also have a nice selection of to-go beer. For anyone that you come with that does not drink beer, wine is available. Can't wait to go back. :-)

    Lavender black currant cider!

This is one of my regular places. I like the atmosphere. It's a great place to hang out with friends. The cider I had was lavender black currant cider. It was delicious! I love the taste of lavender but it wasn't too forward with the flavor. There are usually only a few cider choices. That's the only real downside of this place. But my friends that drink beer always seem to find something they like. There has always been a food truck available whenever I've visited so you can enjoy some food with your beverage of choice. I've also noticed that there are several people that stop by just to buy beer to take home. If you check out their fridge you will find some drinks to choose from, including some non-alcoholic beverages.

Can't go wrong with an Apero.

Oh, Apero....how I love thee. So happy to have it on draft! Service was excellent and Carve food truck nachos were sublime with at sauce!

My wife and I were fortunate enough to have visited the original Kulshan Brewing operation on the day that it opened. I believe that our shared view of the brewery was that this was going to bring something wonderful to Bellingham. Our vision turned out to be correct. At the K2 facility, Dave and his talented staff have moved the majority of their production brewery to the new location. This has provided even more opportunities for amazing beer in our fair city. All of the Kulshan standards are still available here at this gorgeous tasting room - Bastard Kat, Red Cap Red, Good Ol' Boy, and their stout. But along with it are a number of new beers that the second facility has allowed them to create and offer to beer-loving patrons. The tasting room itself reflects all of the wish list items that the owners garnered from the original location. There's plenty of seating, both at individual tables and at the long wooden bar; and the far wall is lined with fridges full of cold canned beer and growlers waiting to be adopted by loving homes. And near the top of the wish list are the nicest bathrooms of any brewery around. K2 is a great add to the Bham beer scene.

    Mountain Beaver Brown... love it!

I'll admit it: I was a little skeptical when I heard that Kulshan Brewery was opening up a second location just a mile or so away from its flagship establishment on James Street. Don't get me wrong - I love Kulshan and their beer, and a second location made sense, it just seemed odd that it was so close to the first. Well, I was wrong! Now that I've visited "K2" a few times I realize what the vision was for opening it, and I LIKE IT! It's hard to believe that just turning a couple of corners and going under a freeway can cause such a different vibe in a brewery's location, but this is just what is happening at K2. While "K1" is more of a neighborhood joint, with families and dogs and bicycles everywhere, "K2" is a little more urban...a little more blue collar...a little more (for Bellingham, at least) on the edgy side. The tasting room itself is large and comfortable (and, blissfully, air conditioned). There's a long counter and plenty of taps offering Kulshan's greatest, from the immortal Bastard Kat IPA to the stalwart Dude Man Wheat to the smooth-drinking Kulshan Red (plus several other faves) you will find something here to suit your beer palate. They also have large coolers full of grab-and-go growlers - just like "K1." There are lots of tables around the room, a nice selection of Kulshan gear, and HUGE bathrooms (if you've ever waited in the long lines at K1, you will LOVE this place)! There's also some really neat local art hanging on the various walls that make a great conversation piece while you're sipping your beer. Food-wise, K2 offers the classic Kulshan menu of either peanuts or pretzels. Thankfully there's usually a food truck to be found here in the afternoon and evening hours! They also recently added a beer garden, albeit a smaller one than the other location. Still, it's a nice place to sit on a warm afternoon. The biggest change that you'll find at K2, though, is that it's a 21-and-over establishment. So if you're bringing the little ones along, you'll need to go to K1 and save K2 for date night!

    Seriously......so much foam!
    Billie R.

Seriously would like a full pint. I have had this happen more than once. Over an inch of foam on my "pint". Not busy, not in a hurry, beertender couldn't be bothered. ** I recieved a reply asking why I wouldn't just ask for another beer, well, this is not the first time. I have asked and I have been given another beer, or they topped it off. My frustration comes from this being a common occurrence. Seems like a small issue, just a bit more attention to detail and customer service. I love the beers, that is why I come back, but I shouldn't have to ask for a proper pour. ***So I went back, had the same issue, ordered a second beer, ask her to take her time, I was in no hurry and I knew the nitro took a bit to settle. Take your time to give it a proper pour. Still the same. Such tasty beer, but sad at the less than pint.

This was my first visit to K2. The interior was warm and inviting with a pretty Christmas tree twinkling in the corner. We went on a Thursday around 7pm. There were no lines and we received fast friendly service. Had the Cask Porter. At first he thought something was wrong with the keg as the beer was on the warmer and flatter side. We mentioned this to the waitress who told us that this special cast beer is ment to be enjoyed around room temperature and has very little carbonation. He ended up having 3 of them. He would have liked them to be cooler, but nevertheless still enjoyed the flavor. I had a bottle of the Finn River habanero hard cider. It was perfectly chilled and delicious. They had an abundance of beer on tap and a full cooler too. This brewery does not serve food but they do have rotating food trucks. Tonight they had a cuban truck there serving up delicious sandwiches. If you are in the area definitely stop by and give them a try. ****************************************************** If you like this review, please give it a thumbs up and follow me for more reviews. Happy Adventuring ; )

It took me a while, but I finally went to K2. I used to go to Kulshan at the main location, but it was so busy I rarely got a good seat and didn't like sitting outside in the rain. K2 is a good bit bigger (maybe not) but on this visit I sat outside on a quiet Sunday evening. K2 is on Kentucky Street and it's a pretty quiet location. The bar is fairly large though I did not check out all of the seating. They have large coolers with lots of beer available for sale, to go. I've had growlers filled here, it's fairly accessible and easy to stop by on my way home. Kulshan Beer is top notch, they have quite a few beers here on tap, lots of local choices. But like everyplace else in Bellingham, you better like the Ales! I'm grateful they have a Belgian blonde on tap. This place is super chill, it's enough off the beaten path that I think a lot of people feel more comfortable coming here and just taking a seat in a quiet corner. There's usually a food truck out in the parking lot, so there are food options, but they do vary. I have not tried any of the food here, but I think it's great that it's available.

Great place to watch baseball and drink beer. Generally good service. Rustic ambience that a lot of dudes with beards seem to like.

Every time we visit, we come home with 2 cases of beer. Sure we can pick some up in Seattle, but we don't have ALLLL the options, or the quantity. Plus we like to support and buy at the source! The patio is nice because it has lights and heat, but MY GOD the bar stools are not comfortable. I felt like my legs were gonna have bruises and my lower back was gonna be sore. We are both young and active people but were DYING on the barstools. It was also odd to be so high up when we had dogs on the ground, as it made it hard to manage them. We ended up putting them in the car because it was such an awkward height distance (they are small dogs). I was excited about the online menu since they had a lot of gluten free options. The menu in person was different than the menus I saw online and on Yelp. Not too different, just definitely a rotation/seasonal element. I perhaps had some gluten free vegan wings in my heart that have not seen the menu in a while but are posted online a lot. I got a hawaiian style bowl with tofu and my fiance got a sandwich. We each got a cocktail as well, and our total was $100. I thought this was a little steep, but we did like everything we got. I will go back, but probably without dogs and without a dream of what I see on the online menu.
