Aslan depot is a fantastic place to get a beer or cocktail and listen to some music when they have live bands performing ! The space is beautiful with a moody vibe. They have a beautiful outdoor beer garden for the summer, and a lovely little semi private space for friend hangs. They have daily happy hour specials, and a $10 pizza slice with Aslan Beer special. Aslan Depot was the perfect location for our wedding last weekend! The staff was kind, timely, and helped make the day so perfect. We love the vibe of the indoor space and were able to fit everyone on the patio for the ceremony. We put a big emphasis on the food, and Aslan delivered 10/10. I love Aslan and the depot. I booked my 30th birthday party there on a Saturday during happy hour - it is a beautiful space for medium sized group! While the ambiance, food and drink were great, I was disappointed that their website said that happy hour is everyday from 3-5pm. The staff informed me day of that they no longer offer happy hour on Saturdays -- while the website still indicated that happy hour is offered everyday. read more

This place is beautiful inside and out. The inside is filled with plants and carved wood and the outside has awesome murals and carved rock. I came with a party of 14 and nearly everyone got something different. The beers were loved by all and everyone who ate found the food delicious. Disappointed every time by lack of seating especially for jazz nights. They have empty space, just few chairs. I tried to watch it with an injury standing up a few times but can never stay due to pain. Decent music but nowhere to watch it. Apparently they have food but cannot order since no tables are ever available. Once in a while have some interesting beer outside of Bellingham but otherwise pretty mid selection. read more

Let me just get this out of the way and say that I did not like the beer that I had. That being said, I loved the look and vibe of this place and for that reason and the fact that there were plenty of other beers that I could've tried, this place gets five stars! Wine barrels and wood adorn this place as well as large and in charge leather couches that you immediately sink into upon sitting. This place is supremely comfortable, has amazing music, has friendly bartenders, has a chill crowd and honestly I could've spent hours here if we had walked in earlier. If I had a den or a library or a whiskey room, this is what it would be, hands down. It was sophisticated yet quirky enough in its details to pique one's interest. Great beers in a truly amazing historic setting. You walk in to the old depot, which is now the new Depot. There are tucked cordovan leather couches all over the place over there, tons of old Persian rugs, then a door to another room with more such couches and rugs. There is vintage whimsy afoot, with antique gumball machines and old knickknacks and some restroom wallpaper that's straight out of a Wes Anderson film. Maybe several Wes Anderson films. The plumbing is, thankfully, modern, except for the vintage brass geese for sink faucets. It's kinda nuts. There's a big bar toward the back of the room, all very nicely constructed of heavy hardwoods. They have some dainty barstools that are surprisingly heavy and amazingly easy to knock over. Ask me how. There are a couple dozen beers on tap, about half Aslan and the rest from around the northwest. All carefully-chosen delicious beers. They have a few dozen bottles from around the world (though mainly the PNW again). The prices are fair, and the staff are really nice. This place will definitely take care of you. read more

My local friends suggested this place, and it really hit the spot. It's less crowded than the traditional Aslan, and strikes a balance between classy and down to earth. I ordered one of their lighter beers, and, sensing my beer novice-ness, the bartender generously poured me a sample and was helpful in explaining the different drink size options. I also got their poutine, and while a little on the more expensive side, was really filling and flavorful. I liked that they let you add your own gravy which came in a generous side cup. Parking was a bit of a challenge as it can be on a Friday night. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to grab some drinks with friends! read more

I've been to The Depot a few times now and I just gotta say...it's PHENOMENAL! With it's overstuffed couches, lots of wood 'n leather, and zebra-ensconced bathrooms this place looks nothing like its namesake counterpart just up the road. It's a comfy, cozy place with a chillax vibe that just begs you to call a few friends, grab a strong barrel-aged beer, and sit and chat for awhile. There's even a private room off to the side if you don't want to sit in the main area, or sidle up to the bar on one of their gorgeous leather-upholstered barstools and chat up the beertender who will happily recommend a brew for you to try. The Depot also has wine and cider, but no food (although sometimes there's a food truck in the parking lot). This is a great place for a before- or after-dinner beer or two. And of course, don't forget to check out the coolest bathrooms in town! read more

What a cool new spot! Aslan just opened the Depot this week, a block away from their restaurant and brewery. The Depot is a 21+ taproom, featuring beers, wines, and ciders from other breweries! They have a large selection, even for those who don't necessarily love beer. I ordered a ginger beer (non-alcoholic) and it was soooo spicy and delicious! The taproom itself is so beautiful. So much detail was put into the physical experience! Big couches, barrels lining the wall, beautiful rugs, touches of fresh greenery from potted plants, and fun lighting. Make sure to check out the bathrooms, even if you don't need to use it (haha) - they're beautiful!!! I do feel this location will cater to an older crowd (I'm a college student). Due to phase 2 now in effect, the Aslan "Depot" is now offering food items from up the block and delivering here to this cool spot! Bowls are now back on the menu and available, so today I'd opted for the Southwestern bowl with braised chicken and half rice / half greens accompaniment and it was amazing. Place is packed, with so many folks happy to see Aslan in Bellingham swiftly offering as much as they can to the local public during these challenging times. This place rocks. This was our first stop as soon as we got into town and we were not disappointed. The food was very good - bison burgers, katsu sandwich, poutine, and mac bites. The beer was even better. We really liked the mix of beers available, especially the collaborations. I would have enjoyed spending time in the bar but we chose outside instead. It was a great setup as well. read more

Being a brewery Aslan is known for its' beer. The great thing about The Depot is you can get food, beer, wine and booze all in a great setting. I first came hear during covid but have been back many times. You can order food from their other spot around the corner. They carry beer from other breweries which is a nice touch. The outdoor area is killer during a sunny day or long warm night. It's 21 and over so no kids but they do encourage your four legged friends. They also host bands, DJs and comediens. read more

I feel bad saying this (considering that the main Aslan location is easily in my top three breweries,) but I didn't care for this one that much. We did go in the afternoon when nobody was around so that could have been it, but it was more than just that. I tried a handful of their beers and most of them were not to the Aslan standard that I'm use too. I get it, they are a testing bar for the more out there beers, but unless that's your thing, you might as well stick with the main location. The place was pretty dark but is probably a good amount of light when it gets busier at night and tap water out of the barrel I had was so bad that i had to wash it down with the beers. On the bright side, the atmosphere is pretty nice, there is plenty of cool seating, and it is not nearly as busy as the other one. The other nice thing is that you can have any amount of flight drinks you want (not the standard 5 or so.) They are doing a good job of pushing their comfort levels and trying things people aren't, so if you like odd beers and come here with a good group of people after dinner, you will probably have a good time. read more

I've never felt compelled to start writing one of those while in an establishment... well here we are. I have been here on numerous occasions from the very beginning week of soft opening through this very day. I've been here with big groups, a few out of town guests, for events, and a few times on my own. Basically I've been here on more than 10 occasions before this date. I love the vibe, ambiance and the selection of different unique brews. Well today I had some reading to plow through and want a cozy spot to read- I ended up being the first customer of the day. The employee was gracious, the place was clean, he even adapted the music when he realized I'd be reading. But I'm here to talk about the fruit flies. Quickly after I sat down in a more remote indoor spot farthest away from the service area they started coming over. I assumed it odd because there was no food. I swatted a few and thought that would be the end of that- boy was I wrong. As I settled in and the time went on, less and less of my book was being read. I became a human fly swatter. When I went more than a minute or two between looking up, I ended up having to fish out drowned flies from my drink. The flies were relentless and numerous- my drink never stood a chance. For a place that doesn't have food service, I feel like this should be a fairly straightforward thing to correct. Just set up some traps tucked away out of view... or even put them out in the open during closed hours. Please just get this under control. It could be so simple for you guys. It's ruining the relaxed vibe when I have to double check my glass. I've never experienced a fly problem THIS bad at any of the nicer places in town. Maybe I'll get ONE single fly once in a while, but not a consistent group of 3-5 that I have to swat constantly like was happening to me today at Aslan Depot read more

This is a 6/5, right? Right? Right! This place is brilliant. First, the eclectic, but comfortable seating has to be mentioned. Leather chairs and sofas, along with lounge chairs, wooden tables, travel trunks, and area rugs makes this a great place to rest and drink. The 17 taps feature a lot of Aslan beers, but also a bunch of cool PNW and a few worldwide standouts. But then, check out the incredible bottle list and many of them only a few dollars above cost. How this place isn't packed every night all night confuses me. If I lived in Bellingham, I would probably live in this place. Keep doing what you're doing. read more

The space is very creative and unique yet inviting. It is a sort of cross between cigar jacket refined, college town fun, Bellingham historic society and 'Keep Portland Weird' vibe. Super charming space with a diverse beer menu. I've always been a fan of Aslan Brewing so was excited to check out the Depot which didn't disappoint. The space is decorated with barrels and eclectic furniture which gives it a sexy vibe. This is random but the bathrooms are really fun and decorated in beautiful zebra wallpaper and a crazy gold swan sink-check it out. Most importantly the beer list is fabulous with Aslan beers as well as a selection from other breweries. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

We came in to visit on a quiet night. We were used to the regular Aslan restaurant which is delicious but ALWAYS packed. The depot was a wonderful change - quiet, chill atmosphere with almost no one else present. The beertender Will was amazing! Hilarious, knowledge, and just plain fun to hang with. He answered all our questions with a smile and impressed us with his knowledge of PNW beers. The decor and ambiance combined for one of the coolest places I've ever been in. The Aslan Depot is probably one of the best bars I've ever been to. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and the beers here are stellar . The room is quiet enough for easy conversation (no shouting to your neighbor required), the chairs and couches are comfy, and Nevin was not only a gracious host, but also a font of fascinating stories of beer making and history.
