Echoing some of the reviews below, the BrewCade is exactly what Stanwood needed. What a relief!!!! This place was great! We were running errands in town & I had seen the BrewCade on a local fb group. We decided to stop in. Games, beer, what could go wrong? Everything went *right*. The bartender was welcoming, friendly, prepared, great selection of beers on tap & in the fridge. Yum! The games were so fun. I expected to feel intimidated (Think: Stranger Things/80s movie arcade competitions), but no. Big Buck Hunter, NBA jam, PinBall of every shape & size; Jurassic Park, racing games! My bf turned into a giddy 12 yr old again - & same! Another huge plus is the TVs. Yes. Why has it always felt so hard to watch the game at a bar in Stanwood? The BrewCade appears to be designed by someone that *also* wants to watch the game at a bar. Deep joy. While there is no in-house food, they had snacks for sale & there are 4 restaurants within the same complex. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. Shockingly - prices were GREAT. $6 for a beer. $0.50-$1 per game! At most venues in AZ, I would expect to pay at least double that. I could have spent all day here. We will absolutely be back!

I came for the food -- in my case a Reuben sandwich stuffed to the gills -- and coleslaw, though obviously most people choose fries in one of the available variants. Both the sauce on the sandwich and the slaw had a kick to them - a hint of heat that added to the whole. The food was promised for 15-minutes, but took less than 10 -- I like it when promises are kept or even exceeded. The pub had three distinct seating areas: outside in the courtyard, outside under a deck (sheltered, with transparent vinyl sheeting to block the wind, and inside. This is a place where you order and pay at the bar, then find yourself a seat. It's not fancy, it's not upscale, but it's solid with good food and brews. The service was friendly and competent, but young and a touch overly enthusiastic (I'm not fond of being repeatedly called "my man" - not so much because it's excessively familiar - which it is, but because the enthusiastic repetition of the phrase at every chance is a bit forced and formulaic).

Counter ordering as you come in, quick, helpful and patient while I tried to keep my dog behaved and figure out what to eat. I landed on the prime rib dip - the absolute BEST I've ever had. The pretzel bun texture alone is to die for, slightly crisp outside with a light and soft inside. The au jus loaded with onions (love!), and choice of fries, tots, or side salad. They have so many unique options on tap, but for us non-tap drinkers they have decent options for white abd red wine and champs. Bundled outside, I had the most attentive service as a party of one plus my furry compadre. So kind, personable, genuine connection between 4 different staff members! Aside from the ridiculous prime rib dip I'll be dreaming of, the kindness of the staff is unmatched.

It's funny, as many times as I've been to the Trainwreck (which is right next door) I've somehow never noticed Gene's! This is a cozy little spot, with a true friendly and neighborhood feel. The place is full of regulars, and has a couple of pool tables in addition to a nice long shuffleboard table. (The shuffleboard could use a bit of sprucing up, to be honest...it's kinda warped but hey, that makes it fun to figure out I guess!) We usually just get a couple of beers, and they have several good ones on tap - including Manny's from Georgetown Brewing in Seattle, always a local favorite. They also have a full bar and, apparently (according to some Yelp reviews) they have food too, but I don't recall seeing any menus during our visits there. I will have to check it out next time! The service is always mega friendly, and the entire place is clean and not too "divey".

There's a nice spot out back by the tracks with a concrete slab you can rest on while you puff if you imbibe. We are shuffleboard aficionados and enjoyed the long table. The table needs some TLC, but most people wouldn't notice. Two level pool tables with good queues.
