    Saal Brewing

My wife and I stopped into Saal Brewing for lunch while in the area. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Google Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay is also accepted. I looked like Saal has a large outdoor seating area when the weather warms up. Saal is a family and dog friendly brewery. Wine is available for those who do not care for craft beer. During our visit, I had a 20oz Brick Road IPA for $8. My wife had a 20oz Robert's Red for $8. We shared the Turkey, Bacon, Avocado Melt with Tater Tots for $15.50. We shared a Chipotle Smoked Chicken Slider for $3.95. We shared a Fish Taco for $3.95 + $0.25 up-charge for Pineapple Habanero sauce. Of everything that we shared, we both thought the Chipotle Smoked Chicken Slider was the tastiest. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall, Saal is a nice brewery offering a nice selection of beers and fun food choices.

This was a quick dinner stop (first time here) after attending an evening exhibit at the nearby Pilchuck Glass School. Although we arrived only 15 minutes before closing time, they were nice enough to serve us and we were so glad they did, as this is really a great place for beer and a meal. I really liked my Scotch ale and smoked pork hero sandwich. There was plenty of flavor with the pepperoccini and jalapeños and the included tater tots were perfectly crispy. My wife wasn't as thrilled with her SALL Dip sando, but my brother gave the turkey, bacon, avocado melt two thumbs up. The firehouse vibe pays homage to the former volunteer fire station. I'd definitely stop back when in the area.

This place is pretty hip. They have a full selection of brews on tap plus ciders and kombucha. The menu is really varied from comfort food like grilled cheese and tomato soup to gyros and bang mi. Small bites like a steak or a fish taco to full meals. Vegetarian, vegan, fish and meat. You can't go wrong. There is definitely something for everyone. The Saal brews are good. The decor is like the menu, flexible, inside or outside dining. It's a converted fire house. Service was great.

Good beer. Nice outdoor seating. Check out the steak tacos. Goes great with their brew.

Stopped off for a beer on Saturday, turned out they had a music event going on there- the gal was pretty good and it was absolutely packed! We enjoyed our cider, especially the sour ale! We ordered pork belly tacos that were to die for, I've been craving them ever since! There was a bit of a disgruntled customer- I didn't feel they handled it with the utmost professionalism- one of the gals even says "do you see how many people are here?" (In a snotty tone) definitely not how you talk to customers (and no I'm not sticking up for the customer either, she WAS being dramatic and rude) BUT the way she was spoken to just really turned me off ‍ businesses should be professional at all times no matter the case. Other than that, we really enjoyed ourselves and the service WE received- would go back! *side note- they could do better with their sticker game. Yes they are FREE and seem to be good enough quality, but I definitely pictured something larger (like 4") with a cleaner more modern look (we collect a lot of brewery stickers and put them all over our yeti cooler!). I'd love to see them do an all b&w (no red) sticker- of the Dalmatian with SAAL Brewing underneath, cut with just a thin white border around the dog. Most collectors are willing to pay $2-5 for a decent looking sticker!!!

Great beer selection, yummy food with some interesting menu options and nice service. We really enjoy this brewery, located in an old, remade fire station in downtown Stanwood. Nice place to stop for a burger and brew!

I was more impressed than I thought last weekend when we stumbled upon this brewery while gunkholing around Stanwood. Located in a historic old firehouse (complete with uber cool firepole!), SAAL (pronounced SAIL) is a small-but-mighty brewery with a great selection of brews, ciders, and an impressive looking food menu too. I enjoyed their Red Ale, which was complex and malty in a way that made me want another! The dude enjoyed their Hazy IPA, too. We were tempted to grab lunch but we had dinner reservations later and didn't want to ruin our appetites. We'll be back, though, and take a deeper dive into both their beer and food menus! The service was great too. :)

Great food, friendly service, and an amazing selection of beers; it is the perfect small-town restaurant/bar, with all the charm you could want but none of the mess or clumsiness. It's a reliable place to go for a quick, tasty, and comforting meal. If we were local, this would probably be our regular haunt. Instead, we just stop in whenever we are in town for a delicious, hearty sandwich and a great beer- what else could you need on a cold, rainy Washington day?

Great food in Stanwood at Saal Brewing! Full menu with Gyros, fish and pork tacos, salads, burgers, and more. Kids menu too. This is an old fire house and is decorated with nostalgic memorabilia! Original cement floor and fire truck door. Try it sometime!

    Great atmosphere and beer!

Breweries are the new cafes so why not try some unique food an beer. Unfortunately I wasn't hungry but wanted to try the beer. I had a hazy, though a Pilsner or Lager would have been a nice option, the hazy wasn't bad. I did not try the food but I find the menu is interesting enough that I will make a trip out again just to try the food!

The staff is incredible, always nice. The food is great, the adult grilled cheese is da bomb. Great selection of beers and beverages. A quaint little place where dogs are welcome, food is good, staff is friendly and a nice place to enjoy a meal. A great stop on the way off Camano island. GET THE CANDIED BACON!

I came for the food -- in my case a Reuben sandwich stuffed to the gills -- and coleslaw, though obviously most people choose fries in one of the available variants. Both the sauce on the sandwich and the slaw had a kick to them - a hint of heat that added to the whole. The food was promised for 15-minutes, but took less than 10 -- I like it when promises are kept or even exceeded. The pub had three distinct seating areas: outside in the courtyard, outside under a deck (sheltered, with transparent vinyl sheeting to block the wind, and inside. This is a place where you order and pay at the bar, then find yourself a seat. It's not fancy, it's not upscale, but it's solid with good food and brews. The service was friendly and competent, but young and a touch overly enthusiastic (I'm not fond of being repeatedly called "my man" - not so much because it's excessively familiar - which it is, but because the enthusiastic repetition of the phrase at every chance is a bit forced and formulaic).

Counter ordering as you come in, quick, helpful and patient while I tried to keep my dog behaved and figure out what to eat. I landed on the prime rib dip - the absolute BEST I've ever had. The pretzel bun texture alone is to die for, slightly crisp outside with a light and soft inside. The au jus loaded with onions (love!), and choice of fries, tots, or side salad. They have so many unique options on tap, but for us non-tap drinkers they have decent options for white abd red wine and champs. Bundled outside, I had the most attentive service as a party of one plus my furry compadre. So kind, personable, genuine connection between 4 different staff members! Aside from the ridiculous prime rib dip I'll be dreaming of, the kindness of the staff is unmatched.

I saw they had BBQ, and the reviews seemed to rave about it, so we flung a U-ie and came here. IM SO GLAD WE DID. You walk in and order your food at the counter, then head next door (still inside the same building) to grab your beer. Tons of seating both inside and out. **St Louis ribs are only sold on Saturdays** FYI We got a flight of ciders and beers, and for food we got BBQ nachos, ribs, and I think my husband got a burger. My husband said his burger was good, BUT THESE RIBS, YALL. They stole the show. They were honestly the best ribs I've EVER had! So tender, and the dry rub was amazing. I highly suggest getting them dry and getting the BBQ sauce on the side. That way you can taste how good they really are before being drenched in their delicious BBQ sauce. As for the beers, I wanted to give a shout out to their Coconut Stout. I've had many coconut stouts that I want to be good, and they all fall flat. But this has been my favorite coconut stout of all time! You could taste the full flavor profile of the toasted coconut! It was incredible! I give this place a 10/10! We will definitely be back!!

The patio faces one of the main streets so there was lots of good people watching. I ordered a beer flight and was very satisfied with all four of my selections: Prickly Pear Kolsch - it was creamy and easy to drink, bursting with prickly pear flavor; just the right amount of tart and sweet. Lightly Buzzed Honey Lavender Blonde - my favorite of the flight; it was very hoppy but light and refreshing and well balanced by intense lavender flavor and a smooth honey finish. Get it! You won't regret it. High Five Hefe - lighter/less hazy and more hoppy than most hefes it made for a unique and complimentary beer on my flight. Pommeroys Citra Pale Ale - a perfect West Coast IPA. To eat, my pup got the Lucky Dog hamburger (which the chef pre-cut) and loved it! He chowed down in less than a minute. And I got the Mac & Cheese Burger (sub a veggie patty) with the Garlic Fries. It was a very indulgent meal to say the least. The burger was loaded with so much Mac & Cheese that I couldn't even put the top bun on it and pick it up. lol I had to knife and fork the whole thing which was totally worth it. The Mac is a classic home style recipe (think Stouffers but better). Their fries are shoestring and super crispy and salty. And they loaded those up with an amazing garlic aioli and Parmesan. I got a side of their house-made curry aioli and was obsessed with it. Every fry that didn't have sauce or parm got a dip in that deliciousness and I added it to quite a few of the burger bites too. All in all, a great brewpub that I look forward to returning to in the future!

Not just a brewery, women-owned TH is also a taphouse featuring an assortment of tasty local and regional beers, wines, seltzers, and ciders. You'll find anything from their own house-brewed beers to local favorite breweries from around Washington State. I like going here with The Dude, because they've always got at least a couple of good IPAs on tap for him, as well as more mild choices for those of us who aren't as into over-the-top hoppiness. What sets Temperate Habits apart, though, is their excellent menu. From quirky options (like their famous mac 'n cheese burger) to more traditional offerings (like my favorite, the caesar salad with salmon), there's something here to fit most tastes, and most budgets. We love going here for lunch, grabbing a couple of pints, and splitting one of their tasty cheeseburgers. I'm also a fan of their appetizer brussel sprouts, made (of course) with Skagit Valley's finest. They do have an outdoor patio, which is a good place for people watching (but can get kind of loud as it's right on the street). Going solo? There's almost always a spot at their friendly bar!
