    Delish Fish & Chips.

A great dive bar to stop in after a day of hiking the Mountain Loop area. Free lot/street parking is available. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Must be 21+. Spar Tree offers a dart board, music, TV's, an ATM machine, pool tables (2), full bar and free WiFi. Food is standard bar food, deep-fried or burgers. My wife and I each started with a Manny's for $5 each. We shared the Alaskan Cod (2 pieces) & Chips for $9.50. The fish was panko battered and served nice and crispy. The fish wasn't greasy at all. The fries were well seasoned and firm. I dislike soggy hand-cut fries. I was pleasantry surprised to receive Broccoli Slaw in place of standard coleslaw. The only complaint that I have about Spar Tree is that I was over-charged for the fish. Menu lists the price as $9.50 and we were charged $12.50 instead. Our server promptly corrected the over-charge once I brought it to his attention. Overall, my wife and I will return in the future for refueling after playing in the area.

In long We heard great things about this place even before it opened; the grapevine just had awesome news about this space finally turning into something that would stick. We pulled up today and immediately noticed the outdoor play area for the kids. It's cordoned off by oak wine barrels, so they're kinda blending their concepts artfully before you even walk in. We're not *that* local, but we definitely buy the idea that there are few, if any, great kid-friendly places around here. Inside, it might be pretty packed already. There are big heavy wooden tables, with more upstairs. You can push them together for groups. You get laminated menus, and they do have table service, or you can order at the counter. They very carefully manage all their beers, wines, ciders, canned cocktails, and so on. Rumor has it they lured a brewer away from Urban Family and will be churning out their own stuff soon. We checked out 2 things from the regular menu and 3 from the HH menu. It wasn't too packed at first, but by 4:00 the regulars, families, and HH crowd were really filling it up. Wines We tried the pinot grigio, red blend, chardonnay, and rosé from the by-the-glass menu. They're all good enough to order most any place, and finding them by the glass shows they're putting real thought into all the details here. Miso pickles Absolutely ridiculously good. Nice seasoning, tart miso flavor, crunchy fresh cauliflower, carrot, and cukes. Would not only order again but attempt to reverse-engineer these and have them at home. Great HH value. Fried pickles Great with or without the cheese that's softened on some (but not all) of the piles. Awesome dipping crema with a bit of kick from hot peppery seasoning. Drummies No longer offered with green buffalo sauce, which sounds like a sad farewell, based on the description of it (jalapeño & vinegary hot sauce, I think). But the gochujang was buttery and peppery. They pressure-fry the wings so they are crazy tender and moist. Humongous drums, too. Awesome HH value--true, you get only 2, but there's plenty of veg in the bowl. Smashburger Another fantastic HH menu item. Nice fresh crunchy toppings, hearty roll, and beautifully seasoned and cooked patty. Not too crunchy, which I appreciate. Easy to imagine someone ordering more than one and getting way too full. Smokey Dipper Regular menu. Awesome grilled steak flavor to the meat, got some salty broccoli mixed in for crunch and variety. The broc would be a good appetizer on its own! Hearty, savory jus, and the onion rings are out of this world. Even I couldn't finish them all, despite how great they tasted. Super generous portion. The staff here are all free spirits and great conversationalists, which is super nice to see. Nothing about this place feels like a chain in any way, although they clearly put real money into the buildout. Such a welcome addition to Lake.

We quickly were able to find a table and were greeted by such a wonderful waitress. She was truly a gem. She bantered with us and gave us speedy top notch service. However, this part does not reflect her or anyone foh; I ordered the fish and chip bucket and was presented with what I can only describe as the box of turkish delights bequeathed to Edmund in the chronicles of Narnia. That night I ended up praising my toilet all night. I thought maybe someone spiked my 6 beers but then remembered I only had the 2. I haven't been sicker than a got dang dog like that in a real long time. I don't think there's anyway to describe the scene in my bathroom other than 1970s Vietnam war crimes. Once again Service was great. Waitstaff was so fun. I just didn't enjoy the side of food poisoning that was given to me. The best part is because of the waitstaff I Will probably go again! Oh, and the campground, which is where we often spend a lovely North Cascades weekend and which is how we found our new favorite dive bar. Yes, it's sort of a dive. So if you don't like dive bars, you're out of luck and may as well just stay at your campsite. But if you don't mind the quaint anti-sophistication of dated decor, strong drinks, and hit-and-miss food you've come to the right place. Usually, we're here on the weekends so we just get a beer. And they've got some decent local taps - along with some requisite 'Merican classics like Bud Lite. We usually settle in with a couple of pints from Georgetown Brewing, and enjoy whatever the pub is offering that night. If you happen to come on one of their legendary Thursday comedy nights, you might be surprised at the level of comedic genius you hear. Especially if you can get past the often shellshocked comedians who make the eternally long and tedious drive from Seattle to perform here. On Fridays, they have bingo and karaoke. And on Saturdays, there's almost always a live band. Sundays, they've got brunch and $6 bloody marys. Like I said, there's always something to do at the only place in town to do anything! I haven't always loved their food, but recently we decided to give their burger a try and it was pretty good. They also have some decent-looking pizzas. I wouldn't recommend the tacos, if you happen to be there on taco Thursday (though they do have a kick-ass margarita special that night)!

I would love to see more Georgian food and drink on the menu, like dumplings, kubdari, kharcho, achma maybe, a real qababi to go with the plov... and how about a chacha- based cocktail? The tables and cues can be somewhat unkempt. We had to hunt considerably for straight cues with good tips, and brush our table free of debris. Tip: opt for a table further from the front entrance, for better equipment selection. This part of the experience needs improvement, but should be an easy fix. The music can be too loud and, frankly, too much of one genre. I feel they are trying to ride a line between nightclub and pool hall, to attract younger clientele. This may be tough on players that need relative quiet to concentrate. All and all, a fun time. I cannot say that it is a "clean" hall, either figuratively or literally, but I can say that at least at this point in time, it's still approachable to those just looking for a drink and a nibble while shooting a game or two with friends, with minimum drama.
