VIP Service needs to mean something at Canoes Cabaret!! We paid $300 for a very distant section from the band and dance floor. It was difficult to get service when our waiter wasn't exclusive as we had been told. It wasn't really a designated area when the last band started at 930p and a big group came in and encroached on the space we reserved without any management or wait staff saying anything. As is typical at a Casino we had people in our group coming and going to gamble. When 8-10 of our group came back in for the last band at 930-10p their tables and chairs were taken by the encroaching group. When a group reserves ahead of time for hundreds of dollars - we shouldn't need to worry getting our space back if we want to leave and come back!! We deserve a refund!! read more

This place turned out to be about the same as what I expected it would be. We were there on a Saturday night for a birthday party. We were in the VIP section. The section was in the back of the whole place, it had a waitress and fenced in seatings. That was about it. Nothing special. The well drinks were around 4.75. I thought it was not bad comparing to the drink prices outside, but I don't know what other casinos are charging. The band playing on Saturday night was Aphrodisiacs, they mainly sang 70s pop, disco songs. It was really not my cup of tea, but generally people think they are great. I am not sure I would give this place another chance in the future. Maybe another night of a week.... read more

I am an older, retired attorney and my wife is a retired school teacher, and we are people of color. We have been coming to Tulalip Casino Resort for over a decade with great satisfaction due to the excellent facilities, competitive Comp program, entertainment program, and fair gaming tables and slots. Recently, however, we have had a number of VERY negative experiences: For example, we attended an UFC MMA PPV event (Jones v. Santos) on July 6, 2019, in the Canoes Cabaret and came in early at the start (5 pm) to obtain prime seating. After buying several drinks and food and waiting all evening for the main fight event to begin at 9 pm, the facility manager -- Carol/Carole (sp?), an older, blonde-haired, Caucasian woman with extremely poor manners -- rushed in and, out-of-the-blue, started yelling at my wife and me for unknown reasons. Since the main event we had waited for all evening started, we tried to watch the fight and ignore her obnoxious behavior, as she attempted to shoehorn latecomers into our small table space. The entire ordeal was very embarrassing for us, the late-arriving patrons, and the rest of the surrounding customers who had their viewing pleasure interrupted by this loud, disruptive display of rude, brutish and unprofessional behavior. Later, we discovered from our horrified waitress (who provided excellent, attentive service all evening, and was generously tipped), who witnessed the unpleasantries, that the obnoxious staff person was -- the facility manager, herself! It is absurd and incomprehensible that such an uncouth, ill-mannered person lacking discretion, tact, training and professionalism is permitted to act in that executive capacity at a Tulalip Casino Resort property. Not surprisingly, the Canoes Cabaret manager, Carol/Carole, has had a number of complaints lodged against her for her trailer trash behavior... What is surprising, though, is that Tulalip Casino Resort fails to properly train and discipline such deficient managerial staff that reflect so poorly on its once-stellar reputation for excellence. read more

Purchased V.I.P. tickets with a friend for tonight's band. Apparently V.I.P. at Canoe's Cabaret stands for VERY IGNORED PATRONS. The band followed the Boxing championship so at the door we were told that the concert would be delayed. The woman at check-in allowed us to enter and watch the boxing match telling us that it would be ending very soon. She told us that after the match they would be shuffling tables around and if we didn't mind we could wait in there for the concert to start. I said "no problem" I didn't mind waiting or sitting through a bit of shuffling. After the match ended, an hour after the concert was supposed to start, someone came to our table and told us that we had to clear the room. No apologies for the delay, just clear the room. I said, "it's fine either way but you might want to communicate with the people at the door as she told us that if we didn't mind the shuffling around, we could remain inside" the woman then got defensive stating that she has worked there a long time and knows how things operate and that the lady shouldn't have told us that. Ok totally unprofessional lady, I am not your co-worker or one of your trainees. Thank me for communicating with you and tell me you'll talk to the woman up front... that would be the appropriate response to that. Once we were outside, we ended up waiting another 1/2 hour. No apology for any inconvenience, the same rude and defensive woman with Long bleach blonde hair, directed someone to a sign stating that the concert may start late due to the match. I understand that the match ran over, what I don't understand is how they think it is ok to be so unprofessional to customers who have patiently waited for 1.5 hours for a pre-paid show. I say "they" because when they finally allowed us to enter, it was as if they were doing us a huge favor. Not a single person acknowledged our long wait time, not even an "enjoy the show" from anyone. Ugh... what a garbage evening. The band was amazing... too bad I no longer felt like dancing. read more

Called to reserve seats and was told that they do not reserve seating. Show up and 8 tables with 4 chairs each are reserved and nobody sitting in them. Happens every week. We're spending money and the management refuses my friends and family seating for high rollers that don't show up. Complete BS. read more

Went here today to watch football games. This is the only place I've found in the area that has the Direct TV package if you want to watch an out of market game. Service was very good. The "natives" are priceless and will insult each other and their team allegiances throughout the games but count that as free entertainment. After 5 Makers Marks, a burger and fries, and a Redskins Win I left very happy and it only cost $25! read more

The Cabaret use to be the place to be, however, after a horrible and disappointing experience this weekend I can see why there was so much seating; nobody want's to be there. This weekends manager Thomas, is incompetent, unable to make simple observations and clearly enjoys using his "power" to accuse and threaten women. The waitstaff - most likely overworked, was flat out rude. Overall, reading other reviews the management seems to really be a problem. Save your time and spend your money elsewhere. read more

I have been to the Canoes Cabaret many times in the past. There is not much to do in Marysville (been here pretty much my whole life) and this is definitely the highlight of the town! Haha! Wednesday night is Comedy Night! Strong drinks and a free comedy show? Who could beat that?! When you go to the comedy show you are pretty much taking a 50/50 chance of an actual GOOD show. Sometimes they have people who have never done it before and sometimes they have people who have been on Comedy Central and traveled all over the world to make people laugh. The comics were not too bad this time. The service was horrible. The Cabaret has about 5+ waitresses and not one came to ask if we needed a drink. I have never had that happen before. All night no service! Kind of irritating. Its not like we were hidden in the crowd, we were in the front row!! Tried calling her over a couple times but got the cold shoulder. Like I said, I have been to the shows many times, but I don't ever remember being rude to any of the waitresses so I don't have any idea what the deal was. I would recommend Comedy Night at the Canoes to anyone who is looking to release those endorphins in the middle of the week! As they say, "Laughter is the best medicine"! read more

I've been going here occasionally for the past 15 years to see live music. Sadly, this place has deteriorated so much that I will not come back again. I was there 2 weeks ago on a Friday night to see a friend's band, playing the early show at 7 . We arrived early, and found seating in the back. They used to reserve just a couple of tables at the upper section front row, but this night every single table at that section was reserved. In addition, the back corner section was also completely reserved. These seats remained empty the entire time we were there (10 pm). Now for the event - the sound was terrible! I've not heard it sound good in the room since the Nexo system was installed about 10 years ago, and it was especially bad that night. I walked the room looking for a sweet spot for sound, but never found one. As a sound engineer myself, I can't blame the tech's. It could just be a poor install which sadly happens in this industry. I do know the room itself can sound good, because it used to. The lighting could have been better as well, but that's trivial compared to bad sound. After being in the club for just 2 hours I started to feel sick from all of the cigarette/cigar smoke. I swear the ventilation used to work better, as the smoke never used to bother me. It wasn't that busy either. So after my friend's band was done playing and the 9 o'clock show had started, my wife & I went to another bar in the casino to get some fresh air and have a glass of wine. Upon returning, 20 minutes later, an older waitress came up and started bitching about how we can't leave our table unattended (we had our drinks and coats there). The place had emptied out, all of those reserved tables were empty, and yet they complained about us leaving our crappy seats at the back of the room! That was it for me. Canoes is dying. read more

I would love to give this a solid 5 star review as I have really been enjoying the sunday night tribute concert series but the horrible service I recieved today knocks it down to a three. Great place to see a show. Beautiful casino. Beautiful room. Love the starlite ceiling. Big tv screens in case you cant see the stage well. Even little containers of pretzels and goldfish no other food though. But my waitress was horrible apparently she only provides service to people drinking alcohol. Other waitresses seemed much better and I am sure drink service at the bar is fine too. This girl just really ruined my night and as I write this still thirsty. read more

We went here last night for my friends birthday and had a decent time. They had live bands playing which was pretty cool, but it was WAY too loud. You couldn't have a conversation at all. You also had to go to the bar to order your own drinks. There were waitresses walking around, but they were mostly only clearing tables and wiping them down. They weren't taking any orders or serving any drinks. Drink prices were pretty relative to what I've seen; about $4.50 for a well drink, and two shots of tequila were $11. I'm amazed that the casino isn't charging less for drinks, since you know they want you to be happy and stay and play for a long time. There was dancing at the front by the stage, and it was pretty funny to see how worked up the 40yo's were getting at the music the band was playing. It was also just funny to see how they danced, because it's far different from any club I've been in (which makes sense, since I've really only been into hip hop clubs.) I think I'd go back to this place again, but probably only with a group of girls, since Cam was a bit of a poop about the loud music. When did we start acting so old???? read more

I don't know how you can hate a club inside a casino. Seriously, what are you expecting? THe bar was amazing, there was plenty of seating, dance floor was a good size, and the host of the Rockaroke (So hard to say.) was so cute and very funny. I also love any where I can smoke inside while drinking, so that was a huge plus. I was also very grateful to the waitress who brought me 2 drinks at last call. She knows whats up! So Tuesday nights in the North end, the way NORTH end of Seattle is Karoake at the Tulalip Casino! The big one....... and what makes this so different from other average Karoake bar's? Well I will tell you! How about a chance to sing with a live band?? And onstage?? Inside the Tulalip to the left is the Cabaret Bar or Cabaret Cafe? I've actually gone there a few times to watch the Seahawk's play on a giant movie screen. Very lovely, cheap beer and food! It was mostly a heavy metal night, alot of the people's who were performing were awesome! But they definitely were rocking it out with the metal! The host, Robert, or Bob looked kind of like that wrestler in the 80's Captain Lou? He played Cindi Lauper's father in that little music video show on MTV? Anyways he was quite talented at making people sound better! I was tempted to give it a shot, but I had a scratching throat... I know! Excuse's, excuse's! But I really am sick! Another day, and I will have to get drunk and also attempt to rock that stage too! We all just want to be big rock stars and live in hill top passes.. Since this is on Native American/Indian soil, smoking is allowed, and I'm not a big fan of that, but they have a pretty amazing system that does a really good job of filtering out the smoky smell! My Bud Light Draft was $2.75, and I don't know if it was the glass or the pourer, but my beer was actually quite beautiful looking? It was quite dazzling! I only had 2, so I couldn't have hallucinated that! Fries were $1.50, I also had a BAD Key lime Pie, tooooo sweet! I like it tart. But they've got some great deal's! I will have to give this Live Band Karaoke a shot really soon!! -- One side note - The Spazmatic's, who dress up like Revenge of the Nerd's, play there every Wednesday night at 9:30pm! My husband and I along with another couple arrived at the casino last Saturday around 9PM for the Nite Wave show that was to start 9:30. We were surprised to find a line with at least 100 other people waiting to get into the venue. We thought they just weren't letting anyone in yet. No more than a few minutes later a lady comes around and says that they have reached capacity and nobody else will be allowed in. We were very disappointed to say the least! For whatever reason, there were no tickets available to be bought ahead of time online and you had to buy them upon entering. There were people there at 8PM who said they weren't able to get in. So I guess people had to get there at 6PM and twiddle their thumbs for 3 1/2 hours and wait for the show to begin if they wanted to get in? That's ridiculous! Why does Tulalip not put tickets on sale BEFORE the event??! read more

Went here friday night to watch a band with a group of friends it was my first time there the band was great had people dancing. The waitress was great at cleaning tables but never once ask my table if we wanted a drink I figured maybe she was just a cleaner so our table went to the bar ourselves. The bar service sucks. Have two bars where you can order but the line was long only one girl each making drinks while behind the bar you see at least 4 people why couldn't they jump in and make drinks. . Finally it's my turn I ask for a blue moon & the bar girl gives me an old one that was sitting there. I just left with it because my group was waiting for me. Horrible $4.75 ugghh. I gave her my .25 cents because I could not wait otherwise nothing. 1 star because they kept cleaning. 1 star for the band. ZERO for waitress & bar service. I only drank 2 beers because it was the most horrible service. I would have spent more on drinks if the cleaner ask us if we wanted drinks. If you want to drink bring your own better chance of having a good time. Will never go back unless they have a change in service. You NEED BAR RESCUE. All that bar serving space wasted. All those cleaner people wasted hours. You need people taking drink orders & serving it in a timely manner. read more

I live in Marysville and go here now and again. Last night I was there with 6 other people. At first it was just my husband and I waiting for the band to start. We waited about 15 min for a server to come around. No one did. So my husband walked to the bar to order drinks. He was told by the bartender to go back to the table, a server will be right over. She was. BUT then after the rest of our party arrived, someone came over, dropped napkins down in front of all of us, yet didnt take an order. We waited 40 min before getting up and ordering at the bar. (Remember earlier we were told not to order at the bar) While one of us was at the bar getting drinks for 6 ppl, we talked to a worker who said she would get a server promptly. Only to return to tell us we were sitting in a self service area and we would need to go get them ourselves. Uhhh hello? Say again? Contradiction?? And if that's the case, why doesn't it say that somewhere near our table? AND also I've sat there numerous times before and had wait staff. Soooo frustrating. Super fun place, was there with a group listening to live band. Styx tribute band. Seating was a little strange, I could not understand why we had ropes around our table. This review is for the Canoes Carvery deli at the Tulalip Casino Resort. It's not that the food is bad, its that it once was spectacular. When the Resort opened in 2003 this place offered up the best fresh cut sandwiches in the Puget Sound Region. They had a turkey breast, pork tenderloin, and beef brisket always ready to be freshly cut and served on baguettes with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Dijon mustard. They were so wonderfully simple, yet tasty. My friends and I would often make the trip from Mount Vernon just for the sandwiches, and then stay and gamble the night away. What a shame the tribe decided to cheapen up this joint with pre-sliced deli meats. read more

There's always something interesting happening here! The Cabaret has a nice atmosphere, good drinks, and good shows! The only thing is, if you don't smoke, it can be a little unpleasant because it can get very smokey! But hey, most of the shows there are free! read more

I have been to this place twice to watch a band play. I had a bad experience with the staff both times. The first time we had a large group and didn't have enough table space for all of us so some of us bought a table in VIP for $100. The security guard was on some kind of weird power trip and was harassing us and flipped out on us when my fiancé came up to the rope to get the car keys from me. It was ridiculous so we left, what a waste of $100. I went back to give the place a second chance since it was my friend's bday and she wanted to go there. It was during the break where the dj was playing the Cuban shuffle and the dance floor was packed. I was showing my friend how to do the Cuban shuffle up by our table when the manager Julie Longly approached us and told us we were not allowed to dance. The staff harasses you and makes it impossible to have a good time. If they would hire better staff, they would make more money. I will not go there anymore, it is just not worth the drive from my house to go all the way out there to be harassed by the staff. read more

So I couldn't find much information on the free concerts on the Tulalip Casino's website, so I read the reviews before going. I only went because one of my favorite bands was playing there. We arrived 1 hour 20 minutes prior to the 8:00 show and snagged the very last available table in the very back corner. The waitresses say you aren't allowed to "save" tables, but several people had just left their jackets on their chair and headed into the casino. I decided to eat dinner there after reading they had cheap food and drinks on a review. They don't serve food in the Cabaret on show nights - you have to walk next door to the cabaret carvery. My husband had a burger and I had a wrap - they were about the quality you would pick up at a convenience store. The drinks weren't cheap - 16 oz micro was $4.50 and a very very weak long island was $5.50. The service wasn't great - we ordered all of our drinks at the bar instead of waiting to be waited on. The ventilation is terrible for non-smokers - about what you would expect from the only bars in Washington that allow smoking still. The only positive thing I have to say about the whole evening - Hell's Belles rocked the stage, as usual. The atmosphere was much different than what we're used to - we generally see them at Neumo's in Seattle where everyone is rocking out. The crowd at the Tulalip is mostly older and most everyone sits at tables throughout the concert, so a lot less energy. I guess you can't expect much more from a FREE concert. I would go again, only because I love the band. read more

Went to this club tonight only to be kicked out being one of the least drunk people there. Waitress told me since I ordered double drinks I couldn't have anymore (I was buying friends drinks as well). I felt she was mistaken so tried to order a drink at the bar. I was then told by security I had to leave and not return for 24 hours. I paid $30 for us to get in plus our drinks. I will not be returning to this place again. I would understand if I was actually intoxicated but I'm pretty sure our waitress just did not like me and started the shenanigans. read more

I love coming here for the free comedy shows but the service is always incredibly slow and they consistently get the orders wrong.

Well, I must say that this club experience was one of the worst and would not recommend Canoes Cabaret to anyone!!! Their security staff was rude and disrespectful to the guests. I'm writing this following an incident that occurred in this facility last year, but has only just been adjudicated. Several members my party (mixed race) were being verbally harassed and after multiple racial epithets were hurled in our direction, by a group of four white patrons in their mid-20's, a drink was dumped in my friends purse and we were told they had "drugged" our drinks. Upon further inquiry one of the men in our party was called a "little nigger" and asked "what are you going to do about it?" He lost his temper and went after the guy. At THIS point security finally intervened and both men were removed. My friend was suspended and allowed to appeal at 1 year, which he did, to no avail. It is shameful that a minority run institution will tolerate this kind of blatantly racist behavior. My friend has been barred from the premises permanently and the other 4 suffered no repercussions. Shame on you Tulalip! If you attend events in the Cabaret you'll observe the bulk of regulars keeping a close eye on their purses and drinks and you should too. read more
