Came to Monkey Bar cause we seriously needed a drink and we wanted to try the place because we never been here. Jasmine was our server and she makes the best damn margaritas I have ever had in a good while! Yum! was very pleased! We also got the chicken quesadilla and chicken tenders! They were pretty large portions and very tasty! Very enjoyable! Plus plus in food! The ambiance is really nice. Good music. Loved the grinch Christmas decor. Will be back with friends! We've had friends curious of the spot as well. Def recommend!

I visited The Monkey Bar during Marysville's Strawberry Festival, and it was a fun little adventure. The place was packed (understandably so!), and while there are three floors, it seemed like only the lower two were in use. Still, there was plenty of seating and room to roam. The bar has a definite dive bar charm, with a lively, local vibe. There were games like pool, skee-ball, and others that added to the laid-back, casual energy. The staff was fantastic--super friendly and upbeat, even with the festival rush. They went all in on the strawberry theme with cute decorations hanging from the ceiling and drinks served in plastic strawberry-shaped cups. A really fun touch! As for food, I took a chance on the "calamari"--which turned out to be a cleverly disguised sliced hot dog shaped like an octopus. Unexpected? Yes. Oddly delicious? Also yes. Definitely not your standard bar food, but it totally worked in a novelty kind of way. If you're looking for a relaxed, playful spot with strong hometown energy--especially during a festival--Monkey Bar delivers.

This place has great vibes. Plenty of seating and friendly staff. The bar food was great. And they had a signature drink called jungle juice and it was so delicious. My husband and I randomly wanted to try the place and we were pleasantly surprised.

Monkey Bar has maintained the dive bar feel , which is sometimes fun. Food was ok, drinks were cold and service was good.

In long We heard great things about this place even before it opened; the grapevine just had awesome news about this space finally turning into something that would stick. We pulled up today and immediately noticed the outdoor play area for the kids. It's cordoned off by oak wine barrels, so they're kinda blending their concepts artfully before you even walk in. We're not *that* local, but we definitely buy the idea that there are few, if any, great kid-friendly places around here. Inside, it might be pretty packed already. There are big heavy wooden tables, with more upstairs. You can push them together for groups. You get laminated menus, and they do have table service, or you can order at the counter. They very carefully manage all their beers, wines, ciders, canned cocktails, and so on. Rumor has it they lured a brewer away from Urban Family and will be churning out their own stuff soon. We checked out 2 things from the regular menu and 3 from the HH menu. It wasn't too packed at first, but by 4:00 the regulars, families, and HH crowd were really filling it up. Wines We tried the pinot grigio, red blend, chardonnay, and rosé from the by-the-glass menu. They're all good enough to order most any place, and finding them by the glass shows they're putting real thought into all the details here. Miso pickles Absolutely ridiculously good. Nice seasoning, tart miso flavor, crunchy fresh cauliflower, carrot, and cukes. Would not only order again but attempt to reverse-engineer these and have them at home. Great HH value. Fried pickles Great with or without the cheese that's softened on some (but not all) of the piles. Awesome dipping crema with a bit of kick from hot peppery seasoning. Drummies No longer offered with green buffalo sauce, which sounds like a sad farewell, based on the description of it (jalapeño & vinegary hot sauce, I think). But the gochujang was buttery and peppery. They pressure-fry the wings so they are crazy tender and moist. Humongous drums, too. Awesome HH value--true, you get only 2, but there's plenty of veg in the bowl. Smashburger Another fantastic HH menu item. Nice fresh crunchy toppings, hearty roll, and beautifully seasoned and cooked patty. Not too crunchy, which I appreciate. Easy to imagine someone ordering more than one and getting way too full. Smokey Dipper Regular menu. Awesome grilled steak flavor to the meat, got some salty broccoli mixed in for crunch and variety. The broc would be a good appetizer on its own! Hearty, savory jus, and the onion rings are out of this world. Even I couldn't finish them all, despite how great they tasted. Super generous portion. The staff here are all free spirits and great conversationalists, which is super nice to see. Nothing about this place feels like a chain in any way, although they clearly put real money into the buildout. Such a welcome addition to Lake.

We quickly were able to find a table and were greeted by such a wonderful waitress. She was truly a gem. She bantered with us and gave us speedy top notch service. However, this part does not reflect her or anyone foh; I ordered the fish and chip bucket and was presented with what I can only describe as the box of turkish delights bequeathed to Edmund in the chronicles of Narnia. That night I ended up praising my toilet all night. I thought maybe someone spiked my 6 beers but then remembered I only had the 2. I haven't been sicker than a got dang dog like that in a real long time. I don't think there's anyway to describe the scene in my bathroom other than 1970s Vietnam war crimes. Once again Service was great. Waitstaff was so fun. I just didn't enjoy the side of food poisoning that was given to me. The best part is because of the waitstaff I Will probably go again! (after I forget what it tasted like coming back up of course)

I'm really torn about this place…read more When we first walked in, we were warmly greeted, which made a great first impression. The cigar shop inside the venue was excellent -- the staff member was kind, knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The bartender was also friendly, and the drinks were very good. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended for me. As someone who's fairly new to the cigar world, I expected some smoke, but the air quality was extremely rough. Even the seasoned cigar smokers I was with commented on how hard it was to breathe. We asked if they could turn up the HVAC system, which they did, and it helped somewhat, but it still wasn't enough to make the space comfortable. My biggest issue, however, is the lack of compassion shown toward customers -- especially in how negative reviews are handled. The responses to criticism are surprisingly aggressive and defensive. Instead of acknowledging feedback or trying to improve, reviewers are often insulted, berated, and even told not to return. That kind of response is shocking and unprofessional. Most people are simply offering honest opinions as customers, not attacking the business. Whether it's the owners or whoever manages their social media, this approach needs serious reconsideration. Telling customers not to come back because of constructive criticism is not a sustainable or respectful business model.

Timing was the biggest issue and not updating costs versus charges. Increases happen but posting them is important for transparency. So, let's review. Issues #1 Bartender/Server was nice but very distracted with other things and there were only 3 tables including us. Had to wait for refills for 5+ minutes while talking to an employee at the bar. We got up and grabbed a pitcher of water finally after 3 requests. They noticed and apologized. 2. Food requests where not completed although not world ending still kitchen needs to be paying attention for people with allergies it could be huge. Requested no onions came covered in onions. Ordered bacon on the burger no bacon. Other small issues not huge but annoying. And dessert that was ordered was left on the bar rail for 10+ minutes before being dropped off. 3. Pricing. I have a tendency to review where I am going online prior to eating out. Pricing on the online menu and reality when arriving most things where higher priced at the restaurant. I did ask they had price increases a couple months ago. I don't set my budget off online pricing, but it does set an idea of costs. Desserts were a large issue with this as the menu and online are different than the current pricing in the restaurant. Now to the food. This is why I think they can pull this out with some effort. Although I was mind set on a Prime Rib sandwich I was told they were out. I was given a few recommendations glad they did. Appetizer, I got the jalapeno popper dip and the brown sugar mozza bread. Both were hot and fresh when they came out to the table Dinner Smash burger had great flavor and although not what I think of as a smash burger it was well built and the flavors where there. Fresh veggies and the home fries were what I was looking for. Also have at least one person upgrade to the Brussel sprouts because I generally hate them and these were amazing. Fish was hand breaded and had great flavor for fish and chips at the price I will get this again. Chicken Chili is a must if you like chicken chili thick and flavorful it is almost a meal in itself. Dessert Everything is made there. The pistachio Tiramiso was perfect flavors were perfect and fresh. Cherry cheesecake was on point also. We will be back again in the future and hopefully things will be running a little tighter than now. I think this could be one of the top 5 in this area with some elbow grease.
