bison burger with fries, and a raspberry wheat beer
    Tony J.

Brewpub in the main business area of La Conner, next to the Museum of Northwest Art. Dropped in for lunch on a weekday and and there were some customers. Warm wooden decor, mid-sized seating area. They also have some picnic tables outdoors for those with pets. I started with their raspberry wheat beer. Pleasant wheat beer with a hint of fruity flavor, although hard to tell if it's raspberry specifically. For food, I got the bison burger with fries. Their fries have this interesting curly thick strip cut. First time I've seen fries cut like this, and they tasted pretty good. As for the burger itself, the bun was a bit dry on the inside. They have a sweet jam/sauce on top of the patty which was decent. They don't ask how well the patty should be cooked, and what I got was closer to well done (no pink), but the patty was still moist and not overcooked. Standard sized pub burger. Total was $31 before tip. For the price, it was an okay lunch.

Stopped by for lunch on a Thursday and had pizza, wings, and a beer flight. Everything was delicious, and the beer selection was great. The staff was super friendly, even though it was a little busy for a weekday lunch. I really enjoyed the small-town charm and the location near the historic part of town--it gave the place a nice, relaxed vibe. I'd definitely come back again!

To start out with I ordered the bison burger. The frys where delicious very crispy and fluffy inside. The bison burger itself. Was below average. There wasn't anything special about it the bread to meat ratio was really off. The actual bison meat was juicy and good. I also had a IPA beer to go with my lunch and the beer was really flavorful. Great stop in a small town

Wonderful service, friendly and knowledgeable staff. We stopped in after visiting the tulip and daffodil fields. We were starving and looking for a place to grab lunch. I like to try a bit of everything so opted for the soup and salad plus the clams. The clam Chowder was a little runny for my taste. But the sale was good and fresh with a variety of goodies. The focaccia bread was pretty crunchy almost too much so like it was old. The clams were different, at first I wasn't sure if I enjoyed them. They're Thai inspired with coconut milk. The flavor grew on me and I found it to be a unique and pleasant twist to the typical clams dish. If we are ever back in town I think we'd come back!

The clams and clam chowder are excellent! Wonderful seasoning! We devoured both! We were so lucky to get the last order of clams for the day! Greek salad with chicken breast was good too. Kudos to the chef! Service was very nice and welcoming but a bit laid back and didn't check with us until almost done with the meal.

This was our first stop after arriving into LaConner. We were eager to try the local beer and they didn't disappoint. My husband had the light ale while I had the Brown. I don't know how to describe beer, but can tell you the Brown was very nice and not hoppy. We ordered the mushroom pizza (no cheese) with the special, Spinach Salad. These went perfectly with our beer selection. Waitstaff were very friendly and professional. Great location with outdoor seating options.

Brewery. Food. Yes please. I happened upon this place just as it opened. Thank goodness. Tulip season had it filled up fast!! Two servers only for the entire place. I had a flight to start. See my photo's log my choices. Everything was delicious!!! Like omg. The pretzel sticks were perfectly salty and the beer cheese was sooooo good! A tiny spice made it perfect to go with beer. Imagine that. The vibe is of a brewery restaurant that invokes fun energy. As I sat at the bar and watched the two servers taking care of the entire restaurant I was impressed. Once upon a time I was in food service. And the kitchen was pumping out food. I had a view of the fire in the oven for pizzas. Come for the beer. Wear warm clothes and sit outside (sans heaters) and enjoy. The beer rivals my favorites from Cali. Yeah! And cheers.

Brewery Tacos with brown ale braised pulled pork & a side of guac

Great spot to check out in La Conner. Enjoyed the Brewery Tacos with really tasty brown ale braised pulled pork for takeout dinner. I ordered a side of guac to enjoy with them as well. Unfortunately they were out of the mango salsa, so I subbed with pico. So nice of them to let me know this when I ordered so I could choose a different salsa. Great customer service!

I enjoyed my visit! I visited once before and I remember the food was good. This visit was just drinks. I enjoyed a blackberry cider from Elemental which was delightful. We sat on the outside deck in the back. It was nice because it was mostly sheltered from the wind and a nice relaxing atmosphere. The waitress also checked in on us so we weren't neglected and our drinks didn't run out. On my next visit, because it will happen, I will have more of the food.

Another highly recommended stop in La Conner, is the brewery, located right in the middle of downtown. After a very filling lunch, I decided to stop in to sample a few of their beers. Definitely a popular place in town, the food menu looks yummy and they have quite a selection of house brews, as well as Ciders, Seltzers, and wines. I started with the Salish hazy, which was very tasty, but being a bit of a hazy aficionado... it wasn't hazy. Still a good IPA though. Also tried the brown ale nitro, Yum! I can see why this one is very popular. Creamy and malty, and great during the cooler months of the year. The staff was friendly and on top of making sure no glass was empty. Definitely looking forward to returning to try more of their beers and the food which looked delicious. Happy yelping! Cheers!

We stopped by here 5 years ago, and decided to return earlier today. The wait time for regular seating would have been 30 minutes BUT a couple people left the bar right before the server checked us in so we went to the bar pretty much as soon as we got there! The bartenders really take their time pouring drinks, and I take note of that because I've seen some rush in the past. My only mini complaint is that I saw our food under the heating lamp for like 10 minutes BUT it was pretty busy and the food still tastes really good even with that wait. No stars lost just making note. The bison burger surprised me it had a cheese and balsamic sauce blend that was delicious. The drinks were delicious. We got a brown ale, a nitro which tastes like a mild IPA and a vanilla cider. The vanilla cider won, so we grabbed a growler ($10 for the growler and $20 for the drink or something like that. Total $30). If you have some time or energy, there's cool art by the bathroom.

I saw they had BBQ, and the reviews seemed to rave about it, so we flung a U-ie and came here. IM SO GLAD WE DID. You walk in and order your food at the counter, then head next door (still inside the same building) to grab your beer. Tons of seating both inside and out. **St Louis ribs are only sold on Saturdays** FYI We got a flight of ciders and beers, and for food we got BBQ nachos, ribs, and I think my husband got a burger. My husband said his burger was good, BUT THESE RIBS, YALL. They stole the show. They were honestly the best ribs I've EVER had! So tender, and the dry rub was amazing. I highly suggest getting them dry and getting the BBQ sauce on the side. That way you can taste how good they really are before being drenched in their delicious BBQ sauce. As for the beers, I wanted to give a shout out to their Coconut Stout. I've had many coconut stouts that I want to be good, and they all fall flat. But this has been my favorite coconut stout of all time! You could taste the full flavor profile of the toasted coconut! It was incredible! I give this place a 10/10! We will definitely be back!!

Case in point: I like dark beers, especially in cooler weather. They had a porter, which tasted tangy but not quite like a sour, and a stout, which mysteriously tasted very like an English porter, but too light a body for a stout, certainly no creamy head to speak of, and again that sour note. Whatevs. The drink menu is mostly chock-a-block with IPAs, blondes and lagers - ambers and darks are perhaps just not in their wheelhouse. We also came because they supposedly have a pool table here. And they do - tucked away in a dimly lit corner upstairs. We had to ask the waitress to turn on the lights for us, but only a mostly-burned out string of Costco tivoli lights served to illuminate the space. It was very hard to see the balls, or our food. Food? We had a flatbread pizza and Brussels. They were ok. They're probably better at sandwiches...again, we hit 'em where they ain't... So, the "up and down" bit: If you want to sit upstairs, fine, but you must order downstairs. Want to use a restroom? Downstairs. All done and ready to close tab? Downstairs. The bartender (running the place solo, apparently) was gracious and accommodating in bringing us food and refills upstairs, though, and we tipped accordingly. Good service. Not our particular cup of tea, perhaps, but give 'em a shot if you like IPAs and lagers, and don't care a whiff about pool or pizza. You might like it!

The patio faces one of the main streets so there was lots of good people watching. I ordered a beer flight and was very satisfied with all four of my selections: Prickly Pear Kolsch - it was creamy and easy to drink, bursting with prickly pear flavor; just the right amount of tart and sweet. Lightly Buzzed Honey Lavender Blonde - my favorite of the flight; it was very hoppy but light and refreshing and well balanced by intense lavender flavor and a smooth honey finish. Get it! You won't regret it. High Five Hefe - lighter/less hazy and more hoppy than most hefes it made for a unique and complimentary beer on my flight. Pommeroys Citra Pale Ale - a perfect West Coast IPA. To eat, my pup got the Lucky Dog hamburger (which the chef pre-cut) and loved it! He chowed down in less than a minute. And I got the Mac & Cheese Burger (sub a veggie patty) with the Garlic Fries. It was a very indulgent meal to say the least. The burger was loaded with so much Mac & Cheese that I couldn't even put the top bun on it and pick it up. lol I had to knife and fork the whole thing which was totally worth it. The Mac is a classic home style recipe (think Stouffers but better). Their fries are shoestring and super crispy and salty. And they loaded those up with an amazing garlic aioli and Parmesan. I got a side of their house-made curry aioli and was obsessed with it. Every fry that didn't have sauce or parm got a dip in that deliciousness and I added it to quite a few of the burger bites too. All in all, a great brewpub that I look forward to returning to in the future!
