My favorite pizza is the Tahiti Mi with pepperoni. We have ordered this several times. On our first visit a nice guy at the counter recommended the King Mahalo. It is a great choice. We were in the area and so happy to find a Coconut Kenny's in Anacortes! If you haven't been here, it's a relaxed, very family friendly environment so you can feel comfortable bringing the littles for some dinner. They do have alcohol too if that's your jam. You order at the counter and grab your own drinks. They bring you the food and clear table when you leave. As always they did not disappoint. Everyone working was friendly and welcoming and the place was clean. The high chairs were all missing there straps so that made it a bit tough but that was the only hiccup. The food was excellent! I was out riding my motorcycle through Anacortes and decided to stop in at Coconut Kenny's for some lunch. I'm very happy I did! It looked like I was all alone when I entered and even asked if the restaurant was open and if they allowed dine-in service. Fortunately for me the answer was yes to both questions. I was handed a menu and instructed to have a seat wherever was open (some tables were closed to maintain social distancing) and to return to the counter when I had decided what I wanted to eat. I chose the "Bar-B-Que Killer Pork sandwich and a glass of draft pineapple cider. The cider was crisp and tasty, but the star of the experience was the bar-b-que sandwich! The menu advertises that all sandwiches are served on signature Hawaiian bread, baked fresh daily. The bread was outstanding! The Kalua pork was even better! HUGE serving, heaped on the bread, slathered with the sweet & tangy BBQ sauce was terrific!! I loved every bite. The Full Sandwich is enough for two meals, but I was a pig and ate the whole sandwich. Mondays are full-sandwhiches for $6.99. The menu price for a half sandwich is $7.69 and for the full it's $11.99. If you're in Anacortes (or Mount Vernon) and you're looking for a great place to eat, I highly recommend Coconut Kenny's! read more

Great pizza, deep dish , any way you like it, personalized . I enjoyed it and generally i don't even like pizza! Bu Daddy proclaimed it "our new pizza place" on the way out & that says everything. He loves pizza . Ambience is meh, recommend bring someone who amuses you or squeezes your hand under the table and make your own! Employees are super nice, so service was excellent. Once you've experienced their deep dish, cheese-all-the-way-to-the-edge pizzas, it's hard to go back. Our favorite is the Waikiki. Service leaves something to be desired and ambiance is kind of hokey/touristy/fake Hawaiian, so we usually get the food to go. read more

After trying another pizza place in town based an a recommendation, we left disappointed with the dessert selection. We drove my this place and looked them up and noticed out of the norm dessert selection. We turned around, parked and headed in. The 2 girls there were great. A nice welcoming with smiles. We order 3 different desserts to give them a try. Loved them all! The Kowabunga Balls were my favorite but totally forgot to take a picture of it as it came out about a minute after the other two and were were already digging into them. Each dessert is big enough to share. Definitely will have to come back and try their pizzas. Update: thank you Coconut Kenny's for reaching out and making it right, it's unfortunate the original GF crust is no longer available. We'll be back, but probably not order the GF crust anymore. We ordered the gluten free crust on a couple pizzas from Anacortes store last evening and some cheese balls. Typically we really enjoy the gluten free crust. However, these pizzas were awful! The crust was super thick, burned on the bottom and raw under the toppings which tasted old and on the All Meater, some of the toppings were very hard. We order here all the time, and this is the first time we've had such bad pizza! We have a whole pizza and one slice left from 5 people. Very disappointing. read more

I do not understand the good reviews unless I made a mistake by only ordering appetizers. Tried this place for the first time as I was in the mood for something different. Ordered BL the buffalo chicken Mac n cheese, pulled pork nachos and the meatballs to go. The Mac n cheese was completely inedible. Just Frank's red hot poured all over the top. The nachos had no cheese and seemed like loaded chips, like it wasn't all baked together like nachos should be. The chips could have been better too. The meatballs were ok, I ate a few, too spicy though. All in all we ended up throwing our entire dinner in the garbage. Not going back. read more

This is now my favorite stop when off Whidbey Island. Our server, Jesus, was very knowledgeable about the menu and beer and guided us to some excellent choices. Our first visit I had the 7 inch Big Kahuna pizza, Linda had the 7 inch Tahiti Mi pizza and we both had Coconut Porter and capped the meal with a half order of Cinnamon Balls served with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel and chocolate syrup. Magnificent! For our second visit we started with dessert, Nutty Coco Board, which is a flatbread covered with Nutella and topped with bananas, toasted almonds and coconut flakes with a milk chocolate drizzle. I still needed a savory hit so I finished with a half Maui Cheesesteak. Again we paired with the outstanding Coconut Porter. The food is fresh and flavorful and the music island friendly. I ordered a meal online that came to $35. I got a sandwich, a salad and some cheese balls. The cheese balls were great. The sandwich was a joke. Advertised as having sesame beef there was MAYBE a mouthful of soggy, oversauced, barely-recognizable "beef" sliced so thin it was practically dissolving, mixed in with some mushrooms and cilantro SWIMMING in overly sweet sauce on a giant piece of mediocre bread. Disgusting. The salad was expensive and not a lot of food but the person who ate it said it tasted good. The website also advertised a 20% happy hour discount which I did not receive. They get two stars. One for the cheese balls and one for the friendly, quick service. read more

My fellow and I had a little weekend vacation that left us in Anacortes for the night. With all the great reviews for quite a few restaurants in town, we weren't sure what to choose. We decided that pizza and sandwiches sounded great, and being that I lived in Hawaii for almost 20 years, I was really curious about this place, especially since they have successful restaurants elsewhere in the state. When we got there around 6/6:30, there was no one there. Which was a little worrisome. We grabbed a couple menus and sat down at a table to figure out what sounded good. I wouldn't necessarily call this place a Hawaiian restaurant, but Hawaiian flavor inspired. Which is still a-okay by me. We ordered the Hawaiian bread cheese ball appetizer and the Hawaiian meatballs, and also a small mac and cheese pizza (that has bbq sauce drizzled over it). People eventually started filtering in, so the worrisome aspect was no longer concerning. The cheese ball app was phenomenal. While they are not breadsticks, it's what I want all cheesy breadsticks to be. That yummy burnt cheese on the edges and tops, light, fluffy, and bready on the inside... I had to stop at one so I could focus on the pizza. That pizza. Oh man. The crust was amazing. I wish all pan pizzas offered by other restaurants could take a note from Coconut Kenny's. So crunchy and buttery and perfect. The mac and cheese and bbq sauce were an interesting combination. I'm not much of a sweet bbq sauce fan, but it worked. Definitely a place we'd recommend to others looking for a fun place to try. They really are just a few appetizers, salads, pizzas, and sandwich, but they have a great assortment of flavor combinations. I was underwhelmed with this restaurant. Since it's called Coconut Kennys, I thought there would be some island food but nothing stood out. No spam, no fish (there is one item shrimp on it - shrimp pizza) and I don't think there was a single food item with coconut in it! There's a lot of barbecue sauce/pineapple combinations in the menu items though. I went here for dinner and got the 7 inch Bora Bora pizza and the Catalina salad. Both plates tasted fine but felt like something I could make at home. I split them both with my sister and they were good portion sizes for sharing. The pizza was decently priced at about $8.50 but the salad was overpriced in my opinion. It was clean inside and seemed like it would be a good place for kids and large groups.
