The sashimi is exceptional--always incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and the cuts are so generous. Every bite tastes clean, rich, and high-quality... exactly what you hope for but rarely find this consistently. My personal favorites? The Chirashi bowl is absolutely incredible, and I'm obsessed with their shrimp & veggie tempura and fried calamari appetizers--perfectly cooked, crispy, and seriously addictive. What really sets Wasabi Bay apart, though, is the experience. The staff is warm, attentive, and you can tell they truly care. On multiple visits, they've surprised me with a complimentary side dish--such a small gesture, but it says everything about how they treat their customers. Wasabi Bay really blew me away. I ordered the Chirashi bowl and it was honestly one of the best I've had. The fish was super fresh with a great mix of cuts -- tuna, fatty tuna, salmon, hamachi, eel, mackerel, fish roe, octopus, and scallop. The rice was perfectly seasoned; just how it should be. Everything was plated beautifully, and the flavors were spot on. The service was great too--friendly and quick without feeling rushed. We stopped in here the other night for dinner. The place was pretty empty around 730. It's a bit off the beaten path, so we wouldn't have ever found this place if it wasn't for Yelp. Service was fairly quick and friendly. We ordered a few rolls to split. We got the crunchy roll, spicy tuna roll, eel roll, and Hawaiian roll. The best roll was the spicy tuna one. The spicy tuna had the perfect amount of spice and the fish seemed fresh. The other rolls were fine but nothing extraordinary. Everything seemed fresh but I didn't love their fake crab salad. The prices were also a bit high. The meal overall was fine but nothing special. We will probably end up back at Momo up the street since we feel their sushi is better and more reasonably priced. read more

Fantastic rolls, good portion size, friendly staff, and nice ambiance. My bestfriend and his wife live near this place and every time I'm over I try to stop by this place for sushi or to try one of their various dishes. I've recommended this place to several co-workers as well and a few have been who also very much enjoyed their food and experience. Daaaaaayum. We just found our new favorite place! Sushi Spott used to be it, but they did us dirty too many times with poor service, missing items, and spoiling food. I can honestly say that I've never had such high quality tempura, rolls, and teriyaki, as I had tonight. The tempura tasted so clean - not greasy in the least, and although we did take out, it maintained its crispness just like if we had dined it. They didn't cheapen it by adding a bunch of onions. We had nice shrimp, potato, and squash. Truly the best tempura I've ever had. Chicken teriyaki was perfect for our kiddos, and came with a few gyoza which were a nice surprise. We also got the Sex in the City Roll and the Ichi Roll. Both were excellent and will likely be part of our rotation. Miso soup is cheap at $2 and super good, still hot when we got home. Delicious. Walked in Sunday just before 4. Pretty empty. We waited 45 min to get our sushi. Apparently someone called in their order and they were dining in but the chef was busy making their food instead of having the courtesy to service customers that are already present. The people showed up later. They weren't even there but we had been there already and waited . The host wasn't super friendly but fine. Food finally arrived after quite some time waiting. Presentation looked good. One of the sushi rolls had nuts on it and no where on the menu stated nuts at all. So happens I was allergic so I couldn't eat it. We mentioned it to the host and he seemed not too concerned about it. I'm not sure if he didn't understand the danger of not listing a warning about nut allergies as I myself am anaphylactic with certain nuts. By the end of the night and early the next morning both myself and my boyfriend felt ill with gastrointestinal issues. After our experience, and the lack of concern overall, I rate this place poor. I wanted to like it but it just didn't work out. Not sure if I'd consider a next time to be honest. If you are expecting fast service don't count on it and be extremely cautious if you have any allergies... but worst of all we have gastro issues now. read more

We did 5 pieces of albacore and salmon sashimi and the quality was great, so fresh and they were healthy sized slices. For rolls we did a california, rainbow, ichi roll and jalapeño teck, which was my personal favorite! 18 years ago we dined here and it was pretty good; not so much last night! It appears to have changed hands. We perused the menu and saw virtually nothing without fish (we are both longtime vegetarians). I asked for a vegetarian/vegan menu and were told there isn't one. We ordered kappamaki (cucumber rolls) and avocado maki which were both well-wrapped but with cold rice. They didn't have any veggie rolls or ume (plum) rolls like all the other sushi places. The sushi is quality. The chef is accommodating to requests. I love uni and it's not available all year round, so I tend to call in advance to see if they have it. The dining room is clean and modern. The staff are quick and efficient. My only problem is I like to try several types of sushi (like at a conveyor belt sushi place). When the waiter came over we asked which appetizers were good, because it was our first time there. He was very rude and said just pick one all of them are good. So we ordered hot sake to start out. Twenty five minutes later our sake never came nor did he come to ask what appetizer would we like. I worked in the restaurant industry for more then ten years. I know when I see a rude waiter and careless. You have to pour the bottle of sake in another small sake bottle to microwave it for a minute or a minute and a half . It doesn't take that long! My wife and I stopped into Wasabi Bay after purchasing a Groupon voucher. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Our Groupon voucher was redeemed effortlessly. Happy Hour is offered daily all day during business hours. Happy Hour consists of $12 combos, sake, draft beer and wine. A complimentary bowl of Edamame was provided for us to snack on while perusing the menu. Large Plate (Teriyaki etc) and Noodle dishes are no longer offered. Menu items have been blocked out. My wife ordered a Mac & Jack for $4 (hh) and I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc for $7. When I accidentally sent my full glass of wine shattering to the floor, a replacement was promptly brought back out. Embarrassingly thankful. For starters, we shared the Pan Fried Gyoza (qty 6) for $6: steamed pork pot stickers are always a hit with us. My wife ordered a full (8 pieces) Green Dragon Roll for $16: shrimp tempura, asparagus, crab, avocado, eel sauce and sesame. My wife loved every piece of her roll. I ordered a full (8 pieces) Dangerous Roll for $14: deep-fried jalapeno, spicy crab, spicy tuna, fresh jalapenos, green onions, chili sauce and spicy mayo. Each bite was flavorful with the right amount of heat. Overall, our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We tried Wasabi Bay last Saturday on a super hot sunny day and we were pleased to find the place fairly empty so we got seat quickly and the AC was nice. We started with the gyoza which were very good. The sushi quality was great and the rolls we got were tasty. My friends had dinner plans there, and I ended up joining them last minute. I love sushi and am super glad I decided to check this place out. What did I love? The nigiri, the sashimi, the rolls, the super long "trays" that most of the food was served on, and the sake (specifically the sake sampler). Negatives - The bathroom is apparently far away. I never made the journey myself, but several others did and the girls weren't happy about the long path. - Only the sushi combo comes with miso soup. I go out for sushi a lot, and most places I've been to include miso soup and a super simple salad with all of the combination dinners. Those items probably don't cost much and I think they add a lot to the meal, so I was sad that they weren't included. All in all, a good place to enjoy a sushi dinner.
