Garlic Miso Ramen with Medium Spice

Akane was today's stop on my boyfriend and I's quest to find the best restaurant in Mill Creek. We walked in at around 3:30 and were seated right away. Our server was very kind and attentive. The space is small, but bright and modern. The food, however, was just okay. As big ramen fans, we were a bit disappointed in the quality of the broth and noodles for the price. The soft boiled eggs were delicious, and the pork was flavorful, but just not my favorite bowl of ramen. I hope to give Akane a second try, there were some other Japanese dishes on their menu that sounded tasty, but wouldn't be back for the ramen specifically.

I listened to Yelp and got the spicy tan tan - really perfect for a cold night! Service was attentive but we went early so not sure if that is average. Not sure if the two jumbo tvs playing football was needed All in all we left full and happy!

In short Beautifully decorated, low-key, and welcoming. Great ramen and a few apps. In long I've been meaning to try this place for quite a while now, and finally made it in on a random, cold night. They're in a small strip mall on a busy 5-lane road, surround by a surprising concentration of interesting and worthy spots. The lot is tight but there's plenty of parking, especially in this corner--the big store next door closes around dinner time I think. Inside, there are a couple rows of tidy little tables, and some cool custom lighting built into the walls. They have big flatscreens, probably tuned to the game. Service is pleasant and unobtrusive, and right on point throughout. They're at your table immediately, and I almost had to call the guy back to finish ordering. They really move here! The takoyaki is legit, very flavorful. Tons and tons of bonito on top. A couple bites of tako were a bit on the chewy side but not unpleasantly so. I happily gobbled up every bite. I had the garlic miso ramen, bumped up to Hot on the spicy scale. It had great flavor but I wouldn't call it hot. Just a nice little tingle, at least for me. Nice toothsome noodles, good comforting broth, and a few nice add-ins. Prices are very fair here. It's a little ways from my place but I'd check it out again anytime, especially if I am over this way.

We visited on a Tuesday for a late lunch. The agetashi tofu was a generous portion and delicious. I found the ramen to be just okay, as it didn't seem entirely authentic. I inquired about the Loyalty Rewards Program after seeing 'Earn 5% back with every purchase' on the menu. However, the staff clarified that it only involved point collection, not an immediate discount, which was different from what I expected, so I decided not to join. The facility was clean, and parking was easy with a dedicated lot.

I had a craving for GOOD, AUTHENTIC ramen, but so many places fall short. The interior here was cozy and warm, the ramen was hot and delicious, with a deep, rich umami taste. It was PERFECT paired with their hot or cold sake! I can't wait to go back!

Visited them for lunch. The service was excellent. We tried their Octopus Dumplings, Spicy Ramen and Creamy Chicken Ramen. The Dumplings were perfectly cooked and served hot. Both the Ramens were good. The creamy chicken version was more on the milder side with 2 chunky pieces of chicken and a soft boiled egg. The Spicy Ramen was equally good made with Pork broth. Overall a great experience. Will visit again.

Akane is one of the few ramen spots in the area. The food was decent, big portions, and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I had the Tan Tan ramen, which was spicy, not too salty, and filled with vegetables. However, the overall taste did not feel very authentic. The egg was not soft-boiled, and the pork lacked seasoning. The broth was mild, but you can request a low-sodium option. While the ramen was okay, it is not a place I would rush back to. They offer a variety of noodle dishes, rice dishes, and appetizers, so it is worth trying out.

My husband and I love Akane. In fact we're regular customers. We love their food and the atmosphere. I usually order the Garlic Miso medium spicy and switch the Shoyu (pork) to chicken. There's nothing wrong with Shoyu I just prefer chicken and I love garlic Miso. My husband has had a lot of things off the menu- ramen and other offerings- and hasn't complained yet. The servers are amazing at their jobs and we'll likely continue to be customers as long as they're there.

We originally wanted to go to Kizuki ramen but wanted avoid the 405 traffic so tried out Akane. Pros: shrimp tempura appetizer was delicious. We arrived shortly after opening so the service was fairly efficient and it was quiet. Cons: the amount of pork is ridiculous. There were two tiny slices. Kizuki gives two giant pieces that fill the circumference of the bowl. All three of us got the same thing. Ramen was okay but again the amount of pork were 2 tiny pieces. I'm sorry to say the customer service was also lackluster. The guy was not outright rude but not very nice. I hope they can improve some of these aspects as this was an expensive lunch ($80 not including tip).

Great dine in experience. Service was great! We ordered takoyaki, spicy ramen and ouakodon chicken. Everything was prepared fast and everything was delicious! Def recommend if you're in the area!

Second time going to Akane. Wife and I had another excellent meal. The first time I had the spicy tan tan. This time we both went with the garlic miso.

Love having another ramen option in the Mill Creek area! It's really nice inside and the staff were very friendly. Garlic Miso Ramen - the meat is SO GOOD compared to many other ramen restaurants in the area. Really liked the broth of this one too, not too much garlic. Okononiyaki - Pretty standard and yummy. Comes on a sizzling skillet.

In long We've been meaning to try it forever and finally dragged our carcasses in here when we were coming back from an afternoon up north. Quiet Sunday night on Thanksgiving weekend, and we scored perfect parking and got a table instantly. So we're already in a great mood, right? It's a shoebox-shaped room with a few extra tables in one corner. Newish strip mall construction. You can come in from either end, which I would not have guessed. It's sparkling clean and well lit with some nice warmth to the lighting. Big flatscreens behind the sushi bar, probably tuned to the ballgame or the news or something. The menu feels comfortingly familiar. The usual apps, solid list of sashimi, lots of classic rolls and then a couple full pages of specialty rolls. Matcha for later. So far you don't feel like you're in crazy territory, though they do list hamachi collar as an all-the-time hot dish, which is cool. So many places run out of it right away and list it only as a special, but not here. The sake list is just enough--a couple of each type, some solid and reasonably-priced house options, a couple really nice picks. You get your sake right away and the miso doesn't take much longer. The takoyaki was delicious and beautiful. Lots of garnish, boiling hot, great flavor. Nice tako bits in there, lots of creamy filling. They garnish the seaweed salad with daikon and load it with cucumber. More places should do both of these things. The cucumber in particular enhanced the flavor a ton. Once the rolls showed up, things got better and better. The Love Hunter and the Amazing were both fantastic. Great combinations of flavors and textures, generously portioned and topped. We got some classic taki too, and that was a great contrast. I love it so much when places nail the classics and the modern. I got the deluxe sashimi dinner. For $36 this is such a value. The hamachi and the other tuna were both super buttery, the salmon had tons of flavor, and there were a couple other nice fish on the plate as well. It's great when you find a place you're super happy you tried, but this immediately goes into the rotation as an any-night sushi spot. Affordable enough you don't have to wait for a special occasion! Dig this place hard.

It is a smaller restaurant so it may be a good idea to call before going in for the dinner rush. I went on a solo outing here for lunch and was surprised that they have an all day happy hour for most of their operating days (excluding holidays). The happy hour offered a great selection of apps and a good selection of rolls! I opted to try the smokey roll which was on the happy hour menu. This roll featured smoked salmon on top which was very tasty. I also ordered the deluxe salmon roll which was also very good! I recommend requesting a side of spicy mayo for the smokey roll. Overall, I was super happy for both of my rolls and the price was not too bad for high quality sushi!

The sashimi is exceptional--always incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and the cuts are so generous. Every bite tastes clean, rich, and high-quality... exactly what you hope for but rarely find this consistently. My personal favorites? The Chirashi bowl is absolutely incredible, and I'm obsessed with their shrimp & veggie tempura and fried calamari appetizers--perfectly cooked, crispy, and seriously addictive. What really sets Wasabi Bay apart, though, is the experience. The staff is warm, attentive, and you can tell they truly care. On multiple visits, they've surprised me with a complimentary side dish--such a small gesture, but it says everything about how they treat their customers. This is the kind of spot you end up craving and recommending to everyone you know. Whether you're a sushi regular or just getting into it, Wasabi Bay is a must-visit. In long Still knocking off all the entries on the list of the highly-rated yaki spots up here, and enjoying it every time for slightly different reasons. Bento Time takes good care of you. I ordered lunch from these folks today, the usual spicy chicken teriyaki. You can upgrade an online order to better rice or a bigger portion, but you can't subtract or replace stuff. No big deal, even though I don't love tossing 2 scoops of rice if I can help it. The salad mix is the usual, as are the gyoza. All solid. The spicy chicken comes in a watery dark sauce with a mild kick to it. Still needed quite a bit of hot sauce, but flavor was great. Lots of sauteed onions in this one. The bigger portion really is generous, but it was $4.50 more today. Chicken still tender and plenty juicy. Bottom line, I do happen to have found my old favorite under a new name, so I have my regular stop. But I am more than happy to have Bento Time in the rotation.
