I was visiting my parents this past weekend. I've been to the Woodinville location and they opened this Mill Creek location not too long ago. Small place but in a really nice complex! Similar to Kizuki, however they have donburi dishes and stir fry noodles! The calamari was crispy and juicy. Thought there would be more of it tbh. I had the shio ramen which was great on a cold night! Our server was really nice and hospitable and made sure we had everything. Love that she has re-capped our order to make sure everything was good.
Very good ramen spot in Mill Creek/Silver Firs. There really aren't any other ramen places in this specific area, so the addition of them to the neighborhood is more than welcome. If you live in silver firs and work from home, it's so nice having a lunch spot where you can grab a hot bowl of ramen so close. It's a smaller joint but I can't imagine it being an issue for this area. We walked in and say straight down no wait. The server was very kind and fast. Broth was good tho I wish it was a little creamier. Egg cooked perfectly. Wish the meat was a little softer too, but again just being picky here. In all, it was a nice bowl of ramen that hit the spot on a cold rainy pnw fall day and we will be back many times I am sure.
Akane was today's stop on my boyfriend and I's quest to find the best restaurant in Mill Creek. We walked in at around 3:30 and were seated right away. Our server was very kind and attentive. The space is small, but bright and modern. The food, however, was just okay. As big ramen fans, we were a bit disappointed in the quality of the broth and noodles for the price. The soft boiled eggs were delicious, and the pork was flavorful, but just not my favorite bowl of ramen. I hope to give Akane a second try, there were some other Japanese dishes on their menu that sounded tasty, but wouldn't be back for the ramen specifically.
I listened to Yelp and got the spicy tan tan - really perfect for a cold night! Service was attentive but we went early so not sure if that is average. Not sure if the two jumbo tvs playing football was needed All in all we left full and happy!

They're in a small strip mall on a busy 5-lane road, surround by a surprising concentration of interesting and worthy spots. The lot is tight but there's plenty of parking, especially in this corner--the big store next door closes around dinner time I think. Inside, there are a couple rows of tidy little tables, and some cool custom lighting built into the walls. They have big flatscreens, probably tuned to the game. Service is pleasant and unobtrusive, and right on point throughout. They're at your table immediately, and I almost had to call the guy back to finish ordering. They really move here! The takoyaki is legit, very flavorful. Tons and tons of bonito on top. A couple bites of tako were a bit on the chewy side but not unpleasantly so. I happily gobbled up every bite. I had the garlic miso ramen, bumped up to Hot on the spicy scale. It had great flavor but I wouldn't call it hot. Just a nice little tingle, at least for me. Nice toothsome noodles, good comforting broth, and a few nice add-ins. Prices are very fair here. It's a little ways from my place but I'd check it out again anytime, especially if I am over this way.

I inquired about the Loyalty Rewards Program after seeing 'Earn 5% back with every purchase' on the menu. However, the staff clarified that it only involved point collection, not an immediate discount, which was different from what I expected, so I decided not to join. The facility was clean, and parking was easy with a dedicated lot.
I had a craving for GOOD, AUTHENTIC ramen, but so many places fall short. The interior here was cozy and warm, the ramen was hot and delicious, with a deep, rich umami taste. It was PERFECT paired with their hot or cold sake! I can't wait to go back!
Visited them for lunch. The service was excellent. We tried their Octopus Dumplings, Spicy Ramen and Creamy Chicken Ramen. The Dumplings were perfectly cooked and served hot. Both the Ramens were good. The creamy chicken version was more on the milder side with 2 chunky pieces of chicken and a soft boiled egg. The Spicy Ramen was equally good made with Pork broth. Overall a great experience. Will visit again.

Akane is one of the few ramen spots in the area. The food was decent, big portions, and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I had the Tan Tan ramen, which was spicy, not too salty, and filled with vegetables. However, the overall taste did not feel very authentic. The egg was not soft-boiled, and the pork lacked seasoning. The broth was mild, but you can request a low-sodium option. While the ramen was okay, it is not a place I would rush back to. They offer a variety of noodle dishes, rice dishes, and appetizers, so it is worth trying out.
My husband and I love Akane. In fact we're regular customers. We love their food and the atmosphere. I usually order the Garlic Miso medium spicy and switch the Shoyu (pork) to chicken. There's nothing wrong with Shoyu I just prefer chicken and I love garlic Miso. My husband has had a lot of things off the menu- ramen and other offerings- and hasn't complained yet. The servers are amazing at their jobs and we'll likely continue to be customers as long as they're there.
We originally wanted to go to Kizuki ramen but wanted avoid the 405 traffic so tried out Akane. Pros: shrimp tempura appetizer was delicious. We arrived shortly after opening so the service was fairly efficient and it was quiet. Cons: the amount of pork is ridiculous. There were two tiny slices. Kizuki gives two giant pieces that fill the circumference of the bowl. All three of us got the same thing. Ramen was okay but again the amount of pork were 2 tiny pieces. I'm sorry to say the customer service was also lackluster. The guy was not outright rude but not very nice. I hope they can improve some of these aspects as this was an expensive lunch ($80 not including tip).

High hopes, but left underwhelmed. I visited Akane Ramen in Mill Creek for the first time during peak lunch hours and was surprised to find only one other party dining there. We were seated quickly and service was prompt throughout the meal. 1) We started with the Garlic Beef Chahan (fried rice). It came in a generous portion and had decent flavor, but it was a bit oilier than I would have liked. I also didn't notice any green onions, which could have helped brighten up both the flavor and presentation. Visually, it was pretty much just brown on brown. It wasn't bad, but it's probably something I'd skip on a return visit. 2) For my entrée, I ordered the Tonkatsu Shoyu Ramen with an extra side of noodles. The ramen arrived piping hot and fairly quickly. Unfortunately, despite specifically asking for the extra noodles on the side, they were added directly into the bowl. Not a huge issue, but a little disappointing. The noodles themselves had a nice texture, and the pork was decent. The biggest letdown was the broth. I found it surprisingly bland and lacking the depth and richness that I look for in a good bowl of ramen. It needed more seasoning and overall flavor to bring everything together. It made me think of dirty dish water. Oh yeah, they also cheated me by not adding in the egg. Just noticed that as I am writing my review and looking at the picture. Overall, I had high hopes for a ramen spot so close to home, but I left feeling underwhelmed. Maybe it was just an off day, but for now, I'm willing to drive a little farther for a truly memorable bowl of ramen. There are better options out there for those looking to satisfy a ramen craving. read more

Love having another ramen option in the Mill Creek area! It's really nice inside and the staff were very friendly. Garlic Miso Ramen - the meat is SO GOOD compared to many other ramen restaurants in the area. Really liked the broth of this one too, not too much garlic. Okononiyaki - Pretty standard and yummy. Comes on a sizzling skillet. read more

First time in and there was ample seating, friendly staff, and a clean atmosphere. The Okonomiyaki was absolutely delicious, and an order would be great as a stand alone lighter lunch. Unfortunately, the vegetable ramen was very bland, but the Tonkotsu was a great hit the only note being that the egg was cold. For dessert the mochi was a decent portion and it's nice to have them served in halves, but they were a bit freezer burnt. We're definitely planning to go back and try more of the menu, it's also super conveniently located with an easy access parking lot. read more

I was excited to try this place after seeing all the great reviews. We ordered the chicken karaage, gyozas, and spicy garlic miso ramen. We found everything to be quite bland, especially the garlic miso ramen broth, which typically has really good depth of flavour. The chasu was more tough than we're used to and the egg was unseasoned. We did, however like how the karaage was lightly battered and the ramen ingredients otherwise tasted fresh. Our server forgot a number of items in our order and we had to ask for things multiple times despite the restaurant not being busy. After spending nearly $90 after tip for two people, I don't think we'd come back here as there are tons of other good options for ramen nearby. read more

Akane Ramen is my kids favorite restaurant! They love the plain kids tonkotsu! I got the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen and my husband got the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen! Also, got the gyoza for appetizers! The flavor of the gyoza was perfect and it was delicious and crunchy! It was so good... that we ate it all up and forgot to take a picture! The flavor of the ramen was perfect and the protein portion was good! The servers were super nice. They would always check in with us and also make small conversation! I love supporting local businesses! Also, I really like how they keep the place super clean! The bathroom was also super clean!!! We love Akane and would go here regularly! read more

Akane is a great addition to the neighborhood. In the crowded Asian inspired fast food, Akane, offers a great new choice. The inside of the restaurant is very nice for a strip mall, its modern, feeling a bit like Asian inspired Ikea design (that is a compliment). The menu stays true to its origin, ramen. Pricing is on par for what you get. I am not going crazy over the food even though it was taste; I think its because it was a bit mono-flavored. Will I be back? sure. Do I recommend? sure. read more

Millennial here and I gotta say tbh this place is bussin' bussin' no cap, top G spot for some n00dz! LOL. On a serious note, my family came here for dinner around the area. And we decided to eat some ramen. I swear it's always ramen weather around here. The service was great and my guy was very attentive and checked on us often. Food was great and came out really fast. For appetizers we just shared some gyoza, agedashi tofu, and takoyaki (my favorite, so this was a definite plus that they have it.) For my main, I had the spicy tantan with the extra egg added on for extra protein and extra jammy eggs. The spice level on it was not too bad but I would want it to be more spicier for my preference but it was still good. Overall it was a good experience for our first time. Would definitely go back. Been eating (instant)ramen pretty much all my life. Then when ramen became more "mainstream" and not just a cheap instant meal for the college undergrad and/or those of us living paycheck to paycheck (both of which I've been), it's gotten more recognized, appreciated and now is right up there with Pho. While I admit my only ramen experience has been of Maruchan, Nissin Cup Noodles, or Top Ramen variety, I've have been wanting to visit an actual Ramen house. Our first opportunity came when one opened up in our neck of the woods at the Farm in Mill Creek. Needles to say we were very excited to finally give one a try. Going for a late Saturday lunch, our first impression of the establishment was nice and clean, not too fancy, not super casual, but comfortable. We were politely greeted and seated with little to no wait. Never felt rush, nor did we ever feel ignored. Follow up before, during and after the meals was excellent. As for the meal itself, we started out with Takoyaki, a common street food in Japan that is a deep fried dumpling of octopus and dough. We've had it many times at different places and each and every time it's been very good. Akane's was no different, it was excellent! Covered with bonito flakes, Takoyaki sauce and Japanese mayo. It's a good starter to this meal. Then of course had to get ramen though the menu also offered rice and noodle dishes. I mean, how could we not! We ordered the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen and the Kimchi Ramen. We both enjoyed our ramen which were rich and flavorful. Because I've never really had ramen outside of my beloved instant variety, the denser, thicker noodles was kinda new to me, but the broth, chashu and egg along with the other accoutrements definitely added to the dish. My Spicy Tan Tan had the perfect amount of spice, enough to notice and make me sweat, but not so spicy that it hurts and I need a glass of water after each mouthful. Can't speak to the Kimchi Ramen as I didn't have that one, but fact that my wife had no complaints and we both ended up emptying our bowls, I'd say it was a good lunch all around. As for price, as this is our first Ramen house I'm assuming it's on par with everyplace else these days so can't really say to much there. For me though it's just getting over the instant ramen you buy at the grocery store at "buy 4 for a $1.00" or "a case of 24 for $9.00" vs. a bowl for $17.00. I guess I do have a thought, for that price could've had a little more on the accoutrements-more pork belly maybe? But just like any and everywhere else, we all seem to be paying more for less, so this isn't a direct dig at Akane Ramen, as more of a general observation of the world we live in today. That aside, we are happy to finally have a ramen house in the area. Akane Ramen will definitely see a return visit from us. read more
