We decided to do a local restaurant and this establishment was amazing. There was a steady flow of customers as we arrived early for our dinner but once inside the spacious venue we felt secluded enough to enjoy the meal at a spacious table rather than at a subway stop! The menu was well defined with one or two discreet offerings in each protein group, however these offerings were not your standard offerings. We began with an appetizer that would have easily been sufficient for a meal and then we sampled from menu its main offerings. The service team was professional to such a degree I had the sticky ribs and one of the staff prepared some hot towels for my clean up. I'm from the RVA and to come to Rochester and find this gem was outstanding. If anywhere near must stop opportunity! Reservations recommended! read more

Wow! I have heard good things about this place, but I am SO glad I tried it. A group of us had a weekend reservation. The ambience is warm and wonderful, upscale but comfortable. The staff was on top of our orders and everything on the menu sounded delicious. I tried several dishes including a chorizo and fennel pizza, the ahi nashos, and for my entrée got the cioppino blanco. Everything was so delicious! At first, I was a bit hesitant at the price tag ($40 for an entrée is something to think twice about when it's not a special occasion), but wow, the value of everything. Pizza was cheesy and chewy but paled in comparison to the other two dishes. I LOVED the ahi nashos; asian fusion with crispy wontons topped with poke bowl toppings and chunks of tuna. So fun and tasty with several wonderful textures. The cioppino was also chock full of seafood and a HUGE portion. Delicious and easily shareable amongst two people. We had an 8:30pm reservation. Was seated around 8:40pm. Ordered the ahi nachos. Lamb shank on cheese grits with asparagus. The tomahawk steak with bone marrow and french fries and asparagus. Was a little thrown off at first as when I got my drink there was a bug floating around in the cup but once I brought it up to the server he quickly replaced it with a new glass. Nosh is always on our list when we come to town. The menu is incredible. The service is always fantastic. Great bourbon selection. The tangerine seasonal cocktail was one of my favorite sips of the year. Went last night for maybe the 4th or 5th time. One small bone to pick - the streamed bun with pork belly appetizer - maybe an off night? The pork belly to bun ratio was different than I've ever seen it at any restaurant ever; way too much pork, which was tough and inedible. All of other flavors listed on the menu description were unnoticeable. Server identified we didn't love it by what we left behind and took it back to the chef, I presume to have a conversation. I'm not one who goes out to restaurants looking for handouts but I was surprised they left it on the bill. That suggests to me that the execution of the dish was how they intend to serve it - and if that's the case, I strongly suggest reconsidering - especially since the rest of the Korean food you do is all so great! As an out-of-town visitor from NYC, I'm writing a review because this is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at - especially for the price point. Dishes are delicious, well portioned, and seasonal (will change); cocktails were delicious, and it's got a very nice aesthetic. It's located in an industrial park in what appears to be an up-and-coming or trendy part of town. From the packed crowd, it's obviously where the city's best come for drinks and dinner. They were unfortunately unwilling to let us know a recipe we really enjoyed. Whatever. If I ever find myself back in Rochester, I'm going here for dinner every night. Definitely make a reservation and, if it's during peak hours, you May still have to wait a bit. It'll be worth it. read more

The Garden Room is a Trap. I made a reservation for my wedding Anniversary. I took the time to mention it as a Special Occasion. We got there early- maybe 10 minutes. We were immediately asked if we wouldn't mind being seated in the Garden Room. It sounded fancy. The reality was anything but. They walked us back past the kitchen, where we almost collided with two servers coming out. We then were brought to a table in what was a corridor to the bathroom. They threw up a very nice wall of succulents, but it was an echo chamber. We were in folding chairs. And we couldn't hear each other all night. Mostly due to a group of 8 women having a great night. It was giving Cafeteria acoustics, and when they finished and left we thought, 'oh cool, maybe now it will be better. No. No it didn't. By this time, it was about 9:15, and a family with two toddlers was sat where the Rowdy women were. There were three other couples sat in the space a little after we were. Each group had the same reaction upon entering we did. "...oh. Okay..." Now I know you cannot refuse service, but if you are calling yourself 'the preeminent evening destination blending unique victuals...and inviting social ambiance' you should do better. I have had great times at this place, but I won't be going back. $50 plates in a Cafeteria with kids running around screaming; not for an anniversary. Not for a regular night. Not again. read more

Really trendy place, cool ambiance. Went there for dinner and it was getting busy. I do recommend that you make reservations as the place seems popular. They have a bar area that was really nice. I ordered the bulgogi skewers and it was so delicious. This is an appetizer/shareable plate but the portion size was good. It came with a side of rice, sauce, and lettuce so you wan make them into a wrap. It was so good. What I liked is that they also had a vegetarian menu available. The menu is very eclectic. Amazing variety of dishes that are very cheffy. We ordered a variety of food to get a good sampling of offerings. We weren't disappointed. Even though our server was very busy, she was very attentive to our wants and needs. She was had accurate & patient answers to our question. The ambiance is a portion of a repurposed factory, but was set up warm and inviting. The seats were the most comfortable than any restaurant were ever visited. Nosh, Nosh, Nosh. Wowed. Every. Dang. Time. I have literally been eating at Nosh since the week before they opened to the public, when I was able to get in on one of their menu-testing/service-testing events. They have been our go-to for special events, group dinners, birthdays, and THE place we show off to friends visiting from out of town. So, I was really, really disappointed when coronavirus started impacting our community and they had initially decided to temporarily close. I kept hoping they would find a way to join other local restaurants that had scaled back but were still making it work....I needed my fix! And then, after weeks of wishing, an email in my inbox telling me they were going to resume service - take out only - limited menu - but they are BACK! So, that first week, we ordered big - the Waygu Meatloaf (3 rounds of meatloaf all wrapped in bacon with side dishes) and the Under the Sea (large shrimp with an amazing sauce over squid-ink pasta, which is unfortunately no longer on the take out menu). No apps, just the main meals. Ordering online was easy, and they followed up with a call to confirm the pick up time. I know a lot of places have been struggling with only a single phone line (they weren't set up to be 100% take away) and also with everyone wanting to get their food at the exact same time, so we were flexible and went with a later pick up time of 7 pm. When we pulled up in front of Nosh, there was a person waiting there to 'receive us'. They took our name, went in and got our order and off we went. Food smelled awesome!! We got home, opened the containers and were blown away with how beautiful our take away plates looked (perfectly arranged!), AND there was a card inside thanking us for our business! Total touch of class, and the kind of attention to detail that won us over in the beginning and keeps us coming back. We love Nosh, and we truly wish them the best through this challenging time. GET THE TUNA NACHOS! it is definitely worth the hype. It's essentially a deconstructed sushi bowl and it is AMAZING! I would have happily ate another plate had I not ordered food. The pizza is great. Great overall experience! I wish I remembered our servers name because he was amazing! We started with the ahi noshos which were a good portion - bigger than I expected compared to other restaurants! The flavors worked so well together and this one had sushi rice on them which I loved! We got the bucatini ragu which was very tasty but the meat is in chucks with other veggies and the sauce is flavorful with cheese! Not your typical ragu BUT very tasty and a pleasant surprise! We also got the lamb shank which was so tender it fell right off the bone! This one had more of a sweet glazed taste and also very tasty! Atmosphere is nice, we agreed it felt like they needed a dance floor because we felt as one feels at a wedding (if that makes sense)! Music was basic but matched the vibes, bar was completely packed, it was loud but not overwhelming! Went on Tuesday evening with a group of friends, they had an easy online reservation system. It was very busy when we got there! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Our server, Mickayla, was very friendly and helpful! She introduced us to the menu and helped with recommendations. The food was wonderful and the cocktails were all very unique! Lots of different flavor profiles amongst the cocktail list. The entrees were fairly priced for the portions and quality! Our desserts were okay, tasty, but would probably skip them in lieu of another cocktail instead. The atmosphere was very fun, an industrial chic vibe. Great spot for a night out or group dinner. A little bit loud amongst all the tables, maybe not ideal for an intimate conversation.. But we all had a great time! Can't wait to go back! The food was amazing. We had the Bulgogi and the ahi-nachos for appetizers and both were really good. The ahi nachos were good, the only complaint was that the nachos felt like they needed all the components to be good. This does not take away from the meal, but it kind of made it kind of stressy. The bulgogi came out sizzling and the rice was seasoned perfectly. The real stand out was the Wild Boar Ragu with Gnocchi. The wild flavor of the boar matched perfectly ragu and the gnocchi were a perfect starch to not make the dish too rich. The drinks were also unique. The only detraction was the outside had no speakers that were working which made it feel very quiet and led me and my fiancee talking in low voices to not interrupt the couple next to us. read more

We dined on AHI NOSHOS (tuna, cucumber, daikon salsa, lettuce, wontons, nori, tobiko, sesame, unagi glaze, spicy mayo), FROM BRUSSELS WITH LOVE (crispy fried brussels sprouts, citrus soy glaze), BEETNIK SALAD (beets, grapefruit, pepitas, chipotle goat cheese, Winter greens, preserved lemon vinaigrette), and STEAK & NOODLES (sliced bulgogi sirloin, fried egg, carrots, shiitake, onions, oyster sauce, stir fried korean clear noodles). We finished with Crème Brûlée. The "noshos" were the best part. They were so interesting and crave-able. We didn't want to stop eating them. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Service was attentive. While one of us is an omnivore, we especially liked that there was a dedicated, thoughtful vegetarian menu. We'll definitely be back! read more

So I FINALLY made my way to Nosh. This place has been on my list of local spots for about a year now! It was worth it. If I could sum up Nosh in one word, it would be- Home. When I arrived it felt like home, and tasted like home. Now to explain that more. The staff was friendly and inviting. They greeted us as soon as we entered but not aggressively, more like you were supposed to be here, "this is where you belong." We began with some cocktails. They tasted amazing and were definitely fitting of the restaurant. I believe the one my wife had was a Flambé Bourbon and I had the one with tequila. Sorry I couldn't remember the names so just look at the first and maybe third one on the drink menu lol. We ordered out food and if I go into all my thoughts you'll be reading a thesis paper for a final exam in college. So I'm going back to the thought of home. Remember, on the movie Ratatouille when the food critic tasted the real simple dish and he had the flash back of his childhood and his mom making the dish, then he snapped back into reality? Yeah that was me. I just felt comforted and happy when I tasted the food. It wasn't because it was bold flavors blah blah the usual. Rather you can tell he put thought and meaning into the preparation, seasonings, and execution of the dishes. NOSH IS A LOCAL GEM AND IM GLAD I KEPT DIGGING TO FIND IT! You've ever been to a place and you can't stop thinking about the food? that's Nosh for me. Everything I've tried has been amazing. I recently went for my birthday and we got to try different things on the menu. We started with the Shishito peppers which were a little spicy for me but still good. Then, we tried the Ahí Noshos that had crunchy wontons as "tortilla chips" with tuna 10/10. After that, we had the Korean Sit Down pretty much Korean food heaven!! you get these fluffy steam buns and lettuce bibs with different sides to stuff them with. We also tried the Cioppino Blanco and all I can say is THAT BROTH!!! wow, so creamy and full of flavor. Definitely give that a try it was one of my favorites. Lastly, we finished with the Tomahawk steak that was cooked perfectly. We had no complaints from the service to the food everything was great. I would say it's best to make reservations. We ventured out the evening after Valentine's Day for a late celebration. The service was great, and the food was even better! We started off with Ahi Noshos, and boy, were they good! Crispy wontons and succulent tuna made these an A+. I would definitely get the Steak & Noodles again - the flavors were on point and the steak was perfectly medium rare. Visited this nicely designed and decorated spot for the first time on a not very busy Thursday night but there was hesitation to seat our hungry and ready to order party of five while awaiting our sixth guest. Confusion with "finding" a gift card we'd ordered several weeks ago. Food was tasty and nicely presented but service was very spotty and might even be said - a bit absent. Runner dropped portion of a salad on one of us at table delivery, missing one main dish completely and no utensils provided with dessert despite getting up from the table and asking twice and 15 minutes passing.
