    Toasted Faro Bowl
    RuthAnn J.

We are at Lila's since we were staying in the hotel that houses the restaurant. The atmosphere was very nice with a bar, indoor seating and a very nice outdoor air patio. The food was a little on the expensive side, which I find is normal for hotel dining, convenience usually costs a little more. We ordered an Old Fashioned and a meal to share. The waiter was attentive and helpful with ordering suggestions. The Toasted Faro Bowl was recommended as a favorite with plenty of food to share. The combination of flavors was very good. The pickled radish was very good. I will be going home and pickling some radish for salads and dishes. The portions size was fine, for the price it could have been a little larger.

This a very nice restaurant inside the downtown Hampton Inn. I had a comfortable seat at the bar, although it is a bit diffcult to more the bar stool out to get into it and back out after dinner. They are very heavy! I ordered the blackened salmon burger. It had a nice flavor, but not nearly as much salmon flavor as I expected. It was not blackened, nor did the salmon taste like cajun spice as the description says. The description says an "everything brioche". The top of the roll was covered in two kinds of seeds. When I picked it up, most of the seeds were suddenly all over my hands, no longer on the roll. Between the aioli and the seeds it was a very, very messy sandwich. While the description also says "pickles", I did not expect pickles inside my sandwich. There was a small container of very thinly sliced pickles on the plate too. My husband said the pickles inside the sandwich were different from the ones in the side dish, although both were dill. I did enjoy my very messy sandwich even though not flavored as described on the menu. The side salad had a nice flavor, but it was all field greens so difficult to get on my fork. We did very much enjoy watching the bartender make a variety of cocktails many of which required using the shaker and sieve.

An effort was made here with this kids menu. Aces.

Quick Take: Don't be intimidated by the swanky style, this can still be very family friendly. ---------------- After a long day at the Strong Museum the family just needed a place to land for food. My husband was looking at places all day, and took us to the darkest most uninviting bar known to man. I said absolutely not. I didn't have time to check out places, so we decided on the place in our hotel (Hampton Inn). Ambiance: Same seating as the hotel breakfast, but they opened the bar area, and even folded back the back wall to make a patio. There was a small horn band playing, so we opted to sit more in the lobby since it was a bit loud for the 5 yo. Pick your table wisely though, the Sun through those windows is a killer. Food: Decent options, I had a breaded chicken sandwich with fries. You can tell effort was made on both and not just throw in a fryer from the freezer. I don't know what was on the fries, but I was really enjoying them. Husband got the burger and he also enjoyed it. Kids Food: I very much appreciate a place with a good kids menu. Is it anything special, maybe not, but you can tell someone made the effort to remember the kids, and I think that tells a lot about an establishment. (Photo included) Service: Super friendly and helpful. Our server was very attentive and acknowledged our 5 yo to ask her what she wanted. When she'd check on us, she made sure to interact with her as well. Long story short, I wasn't sure about the upscale vibes, but it was perfect after a long day at the museum with a short walk upstairs for an early night.

I went to Lila's for lunch. It is located near the museum, so there are plenty of parking and it costs 10$. We ordered their house made ricotta, beets and salmon burger. The house made ricotta was very smooth and tasty, so was the bread. The beets were also incredible, very fresh. The salmon burger was pretty standard. The service was good but the table was not cleaned before our arrival. Overall I enjoyed the place.

Pork sliders - would order again but these could be a couple bucks cheaper on the menu.

Walking through the hotel to get to Lila's, you wouldn't expect such a cool spot to lurk around the corner. The evening vibe of this place is unquestionably on point - dim lighting assisted by stylish fire elements, clean, modern furniture, intimately set tables, and a gorgeous bar. Dinner and drinks were ordered at the bar, then brought to the table relatively quickly. It was hard to pick just two cocktails as many on the menu sounded interesting. Thankfully, we picked well and both enjoyed our drinks which were not just tasty but also unique in their flavor profiles. The food itself is where things take a turn. The lobster rolls were very disappointing, with the seafood having a dry, crumbly (not in a good way) texture and lacking both richness and a significant amount of lobster. At times it felt more like eating a paste of fried panko bread crumbs, as there was no meatiness to the lobster so the consistency was overwhelmingly bread crumbed. It was a letdown on its own, but factoring in the high price of the dish, I can't say I'd ever order it again. The chips on the side were honestly more enjoyable than the sandwich. The pork belly sliders were better than the lobster rolls, and had a nice sweetness to them. There is a mild kick of heat but the overall profile is definitely more honeyed than anything else, even with the pickled vegetables adding a little tartness. They seemed a little inconsistent in how much each slider had, as one of them barely had any pork, but overall I would order this dish again as something I know is solid. That being said, again the price of $24 for what was essentially 2.5 sliders is a couple dollars too high. Despite the middling opinion of the food, I would definitely go back to Lila's, as I see a lot of potential. Lila's may be more ideal if you go with the intention of getting drinks and just having a small late night bite, as opposed to a full dinner. But we'll give it another shot and see how it goes.

Always delicious!! I used to go every Thursday for happy hour oysters, need to get back to it. Happy hour is weekdays 3-6. The staff are really sweet and attentive.

I'm not someone who leaves reviews often -- so when I do, it's either really good or really bad. Unfortunately, this one falls hard into the latter category. I came in hoping for a quick, casual dinner while visiting from Rochester. What I got instead was a masterclass in how not to run a restaurant. I sat at the bar for 25 minutes without so much as a hello. Not even a "be right with you." Just...ignored. I figured maybe the bar was understaffed, so I tried switching to a table. Somehow, the service was even slower. When the food finally did come, it was a total letdown -- bland, overpriced, and absolutely not worth the wait. I had to practically beg for the check just to escape. It honestly felt like no one working there wanted to be serving food, drinks, or customers. There are at least five better spots within walking distance -- I suggest you pick any one of them. I'll never come back. This place should be embarrassed to call itself a restaurant or bar. Eat literally anywhere else.

BBQ Pork Belly Sliders. These are done right.

Let's start with the atmosphere and incredible decor. After a moment you forget you are literally in an extention of a hotel lobby. Cocktails were exceptionally amazing. The bar staff is trained and trained well. Bravo to the creator of the list. Let's talk food. Complementary freshly made, hot, and seasoned pork rines - so good. We decided to go with the beets, pork belly sliders, chicken nuggets, and ricotta. It fills up fast. We did Saturday lunch. It's got indoor/outdoor seating. Staff is great.

You wouldn't expect a hotel restaurant to have such good food, but Lila's is definitely that. My daughter and I got in late-ish on a Friday night. She was cranky, I was tired, we both just wanted some food and to go back up to our hotel room to get some rest. Not wanting to go out and find food, I thought we would just resort to the restaurant at the hotel. Guys, I would not call it "resorting" to anything. The food served at Lila's is beyond delicious. I got the pork belly baos and my daughter got the mac and cheese. Both were so so so good. The service here is also exceptional and the waitstaff and bartenders always go above and beyond. During our stay, I noticed a lot of people taking advantage of having a hotel bar and restaurant. It's nice to unwind with a drink here after a long day at the Strong Museum with your kids!

Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences. We spent 2.5 hours total at the restaurant. After waiting an excessive amount of time, we watched two tables that arrived at least an hour after us receive their food first. When we politely asked if our ticket might have been missed, we were told those tables ordered before us, which simply wasn't true. We were then told the delay was because burgers take a long time but a nearly two-hour wait for a burger is pretty wild. It took about 25 minutes just for someone to take our drink order, and we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. We had to flag staff down for everything. No ketchup, no hot sauce, nothing offered. The $30 mimosa flight served in tiny glasses also felt like a complete scam. When the food finally came, two people in our party were served 15-20 minutes before the other two, and the food was cold. One dish had completely raw eggs. When I let the server know I couldn't eat it, she came back and removed the meal from the bill, which was appreciated. However, the interaction itself felt tense and dismissive, which made an already frustrating experience worse. They did give us a round of breakfast shots to try to help pass the time which was appreciated. The food itself was disappointing overall. The breakfast burrito was basically all eggs with raw, bitter avocado, and my husband's burger was missing requested toppings. We also noticed food sitting in the service window while we continued waiting. The only person who was happy with their meal got the biggie fries an it was hot when it arrived. To make matters worse, the bathroom was unheated on an 18° day (feels like 2°) and not clean. We're a pretty chill, patient group and understand that kitchens get backed up but man, this experience completely missed the mark. Ironically, the cooks thanked us for our patience and servers said goodbye pleasantly on the way out. We honestly may have let a lot of this go if the service hadn't felt so dismissive when we calmly raised concerns.

Our table got free shots because one member of the party was celebrating her birthday at Easy Sailor (she also received leis around her neck). Cons: Expensive. Small portions. Food is OK, but not worth the cost. Drinks are VERY expensive. The vegan appetizers are coconut sticky rice, sesame garlic vegetables, and kung pao cucumbers. There is one vegan entrée: Spamfu fried rice. The coconut sticky rice was decent, but not filling. And it's hard to eat it without making a big mess, because they foolishly serve it to you in a small, overstuffed dish with no plate under it. So when you dig into the ball of rice with your fork, you end up dislodging bits of it all over the table. They really need to figure out a better way to serve it. The sesame garlic vegetables were quite good (better than the rice), but also not filling. My wife had the Spamfu, which was a surprisingly small portion given that it's billed as an entrée. The vegan bits of "Spam" were cubes of marinated tofu, and there wasn't much of it. Given that tofu and rice are both cheap, the cost of that dish was pretty outrageous. And speaking of outrageous costs, the fancy drinks were priced astronomically high. The menu is written in a small font and is hard to read, especially given the dim lighting in the restaurant. I had to use my iPhone to take pictures of it, so I could magnify the photos on my screen. The water carafes are impractical. They have very long, thin necks, which means you can't put ice in them -- and they tend to block your view of other people sitting at the table. They don't hold much water, so you have to keep asking the server to refill them. And the water glasses are too small. The restaurant really needs to get bigger (but squatter) carafes that hold ice, and they need better water glasses. If you're not especially hungry and money is no object, then maybe Easy Sailor is right for you. Otherwise, I'd skip it.
