Such a great place with an amazing vibe! Got there right at opening and sat at the bar for a cocktail. The craftsmanship was impeccable from the ice to the cocktail!

I was in Rochester for work and met friends at Grace & Disgrace for a 6pm reservation. The ambiance is best described as cozy and eclectic. The server made our cocktails and took time to delicately design the ice before placing them into our glasses. I was especially impressed at how my Corduroy drink ice matched the glass it was served in. We tried the food and the lamb chop lollipops were among the best my friends and I had eaten anywhere. Recommend a stop in for those into craft cocktails.

It's a little jewel box of a place. This place is really a surprise to be sure.. I had NO idea it was here or a "thing" So my friend found this place via Instagram and said we should check it out. It's definitely worth it, just a few things to know. 1) Reservations Only 2) just a few time slots 3) 45 or 90 minute times 4) it's small You go to their site and you can make your reservation via Tock and pick your day, time and allotted time frame. The outside to give you an idea where it is.. right by the new and improved Richmond's. Now I think this place is or as it it states on the door Bar Mecca but... no worries as they have a sign above saying what they are. The inside reminds me of someone's uncles place in the UP. (Upper Peninsula of Wisconsin or Michigan) with a warming pot bellied stove kind of heater, deer heads, warm woods and antique furniture. Granted it's cosy and small and to be frank I prefer it this way. I believe you can seat 16-18 only and that's fine. This is a serious place for people who appreciate a well made cocktail made by someone who knows what they are doing. They make EVERYTHING and yes the ice too and you can actually buy it from them. Check their social media channels for more. They also have some small bites I'd say maybe come here prior to dinner or after for a night cap and try an app or desert. Meg (I believe one of the owners) makes a fabulous and beautiful cocktail. It was a joy to see someone doing some real alchemy with libations. My friend got the Duck Fat Old Fashioned and yes and it was smoky and strong in the best possible way and well made. I got the Stirred Daiquiri (I'll post photos) I wanted something not too strong and I was not in the mood for sweet. This was an excellent balance as if I had my friends cocktail I'd probably be on the floor. I got some of the bread pudding for us to share and it went quite well with our cocktails. I would bring people here who appreciate a well made cocktail as they would enjoy it and the ambiance and the fact that it's small. Meaning you can actually talk to someone while having your drink. It's really a nice place you should check out, we only did the 45 minute slot as we had dinner prior and figured we would only have one drink each. Will I be back, of course. Parking is tricky in this area but it would be street or try your ride sharing like Uber/Lyft. Enjoy!

This place is a gem. Really balanced and well made cocktails with attention to detail in both product and service. The clear ice is on point and refreshing to see in the Rochester cocktail scene. Worth the extra step to make the reservation and keep the cozy intimate vibes!

Definitely Rochester's coolest new cocktail bar. You make reservations online for either 45 minutes or 90 minutes. Pro tip: 90 minutes is totally the way to go. The bartenders are super friendly and attentive. The food is ultra tasty. Pro tip: if you have the hunger of a bear, eat something beforehand, because these portions are small, but delectable. The cocktail menu is expansive and extremely tasty. The challah and fig jam and the dumplings are not only approaching perfection in taste, but also in consistency and eat ability (i.e., the dumplings were right in the sweet spot of crispy and chewy). Not much else to be said. The ambience is basically perfect (jazz music and small and cozy). This is quite literally not to be missed for the cocktail fan. We will be back each season, if not more often.

We tried Grace & Disgrace last night & loved it! Small & intimate, we enjoyed sitting at the bar and talking to Ralph who had an abundance of interesting stories and crafted some tasty cocktails! I loved the Bare Maximum, made with angel food vodka! The food was amazing! I've tried lamb many times and generally hate it but these lollipops were delicious! I splurged with the Bread Pudding because it was my birthday and it was yummy! Can't wait to return!

Tons of bitters and other things to make cocktails with!

A charming venue for small bites and creative cocktails! As soon as you walk in you notice all the thoughtful touches to remind you how custom and unique your drinks will be. Beautiful ambience, small, and very intimate! The table setting are lovely and even include warm towels to clean your hands with! Don't come here expecting a huge meal and to leave stuffed. There are only a handful of food menu items and there are meant to COMPLIMENT your beverages. Drinks were beyond satisfactory and were made with love and tender care. The food was absolutely delicious. I'd recommend this as a pre or post dinner spot for sure!

Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences. We spent 2.5 hours total at the restaurant. After waiting an excessive amount of time, we watched two tables that arrived at least an hour after us receive their food first. When we politely asked if our ticket might have been missed, we were told those tables ordered before us, which simply wasn't true. We were then told the delay was because burgers take a long time but a nearly two-hour wait for a burger is pretty wild. It took about 25 minutes just for someone to take our drink order, and we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. We had to flag staff down for everything. No ketchup, no hot sauce, nothing offered. The $30 mimosa flight served in tiny glasses also felt like a complete scam. When the food finally came, two people in our party were served 15-20 minutes before the other two, and the food was cold. One dish had completely raw eggs. When I let the server know I couldn't eat it, she came back and removed the meal from the bill, which was appreciated. However, the interaction itself felt tense and dismissive, which made an already frustrating experience worse. They did give us a round of breakfast shots to try to help pass the time which was appreciated. The food itself was disappointing overall. The breakfast burrito was basically all eggs with raw, bitter avocado, and my husband's burger was missing requested toppings. We also noticed food sitting in the service window while we continued waiting. The only person who was happy with their meal got the biggie fries an it was hot when it arrived. To make matters worse, the bathroom was unheated on an 18° day (feels like 2°) and not clean. We're a pretty chill, patient group and understand that kitchens get backed up but man, this experience completely missed the mark. Ironically, the cooks thanked us for our patience and servers said goodbye pleasantly on the way out. We honestly may have let a lot of this go if the service hadn't felt so dismissive when we calmly raised concerns.

You need to know the secret to getting past the gatekeeper as this is a speakeasy setting. (Figure it out on your own, that's half the fun)!!! Once inside there was a smooth jazz group performing. The music was a lovely backdrop to the setting and not overwhelmingly loud that I would be screaming to be heard. You can have a normal level conversation and still enjoy the music. There were comfortable cushioned chairs with pub sized tables for seating. We sat at the bar as all table s were taken. The energetic bartenders filled up in on all the idiosyncrasies of the place and happily answered all of our many questions. They told us that it was quiet for a Thursday night and that the weekends were much larger crowds which would not appeal to me as I'm not looking for a club scene atmosphere. I was happily comfortable. The drinks are creative and include interesting combinations of ingredients. We shared three appetizers, the sliders (my favorite), spring rolls (the side sauce was great), and the tacos with a tasty crema drizzled over them. The staff let us tour the dining room, basically a Ramon Santiago gallery. (The angel was my favorite). We went to see the ballroom as well as I had attended a wedding there 37 years ago while it was still the University Club!!! It was the same lovely room I remember and brought back wonderful memories. My friend was staying there while she is having some work done at her home so got to see the guest room she was in. As expected from a historic building large windows overlooking downtown Rochester, a gas fireplace, and soaker tub. Beautiful space. Some logistic issues with heat and fan not working so this was her second room that hopefully the new owner will address. We ran into their new executive chef and they have done a great job in hiring him. He told us about future ideas they have for putting their thumb print on things and they sound quite exciting. I thanked him for the time he spent speaking with us and appreciated his enthusiasm and forward thinking. All in all a most enjoyable time at the Inn and would recommend a visit by anyone of any age. We ordered hummus, which was supposed to come with bread (they say naan, I think it was pita, but that's fine) and veggies. It did come out with the bread. When we asked about the veggies, we were given 2 different answers by 2 different people. One implied folks didn't always want them, another said the chef forgot and apologized. The hummus had an unexpected flavor, and when I checked the fine print on the menu it says, "chefs choice flavor." Our table got free shots because one member of the party was celebrating her birthday at Easy Sailor (she also received leis around her neck). Cons: Expensive. Small portions. Food is OK, but not worth the cost. Drinks are VERY expensive. The vegan appetizers are coconut sticky rice, sesame garlic vegetables, and kung pao cucumbers. There is one vegan entrée: Spamfu fried rice. The coconut sticky rice was decent, but not filling. And it's hard to eat it without making a big mess, because they foolishly serve it to you in a small, overstuffed dish with no plate under it. So when you dig into the ball of rice with your fork, you end up dislodging bits of it all over the table. They really need to figure out a better way to serve it. The sesame garlic vegetables were quite good (better than the rice), but also not filling. My wife had the Spamfu, which was a surprisingly small portion given that it's billed as an entrée. The vegan bits of "Spam" were cubes of marinated tofu, and there wasn't much of it. Given that tofu and rice are both cheap, the cost of that dish was pretty outrageous. And speaking of outrageous costs, the fancy drinks were priced astronomically high. The menu is written in a small font and is hard to read, especially given the dim lighting in the restaurant. I had to use my iPhone to take pictures of it, so I could magnify the photos on my screen. The water carafes are impractical. They have very long, thin necks, which means you can't put ice in them -- and they tend to block your view of other people sitting at the table. They don't hold much water, so you have to keep asking the server to refill them. And the water glasses are too small. The restaurant really needs to get bigger (but squatter) carafes that hold ice, and they need better water glasses. If you're not especially hungry and money is no object, then maybe Easy Sailor is right for you. Otherwise, I'd skip it.

Now the food, We started with Sesame Garlic Brussels sprouts. 4/5 for that dish. Beautiful flavor. Well roasted sprouts. Coconut Sticky Rice- 5/5 Perfect rice. Well made. Well presented. The salty and the sweet flavors have wonderful chemistry. The rice was the right amount of fluffy and soft. Mandarin Tea Chicken- 4/5 Very yummy. Chicken was wonderful. I wish it came with rice and had more lean white meat as it seemed that it had more fatty dark meat. Jaffna Shrimp Curry- 4/5 Wonderful dish. The shrimp was well made. Perfectly cooked. The lentils could be more softer. The sauce was beautiful and combined all aspects of this dish perfectly. I'm not sure what leaves they used for garnish. I hoped to see curry leaves in there given the South Asian roots of this dish but alas they weren't there. Nonetheless it was a wonderful meal.
