We stopped here for an earlier dinner since we had a gift certificate. The restaurant is on the smaller side and very dated for the time period. Definitely can tell it's an established place that has not caved to the modern decor. The waitress was very friendly, the service in the kitchen was super slow. It took awhile to get the food which wouldn't be a huge ordeal but we had a seven year old with us. They do not have a kids meal but our child was ok with having steak. Luckily they allowed the blue cheese to be put to the side. Given we had a very generous gift card we could justify bringing him last minute. The prices are on the expensive side. The bread service came out with three toasted rolls with butter. They were good, but nothing to specifically look forward to. Our meals came with a side salad. The salad consisted of romaine, spinach, three slices of cucumber, two grape tomatoes and shredded carrots. Very basic which is expected. As another reviewer said the to go dressings seemed like an odd touch given price point of the venue. Child ordered the steak and it was super tender and delicious. It was about 8oz size. I ordered the chicken Francese with rice pilaf. The sauce was on the watery side, but good flavor. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Rice pilaf wasn't typical. It was more of a white rice.. not exactly what I think of pilaf. Husband ordered the lobster special. Hindsight we should have asked the price. It was 64 for a lobster tail. It was well cooked but the price was shocking. They did have crab legs but I overheard market price was 90.00/lb I believe so I guess a 69 lobster tail was a deal. Took about an hour and half from sitting down until we got the check. Overall it was an ok experience. We were thankful the taste of the food compensated for such a long time in the restaurant. Would we go again? Probably not. There are many restaurants that offer these types of meals for a better price point for our budget.

Bernard's Grove never disappoints! The service, food, and value are always superb. Brought my out of town family here for a Mother's Day dinner and everyone was very impressed. I will continue to come to Bernard's for special occasions and for anytime I want to go out to eat and get a guaranteed excellent meal. The staff are very accommodating to gluten free dietary restrictions and are very knowledgeable about their menu!

This is not my first time in this restaurant. I love how consistent they are ! You can order everything on the menu! Their food is just perfectly cooked, with wonderful flavors. The customer service is outstanding! And the environment is relaxing, i recommended this restaurant to everyone and my suggestion is to always try a new dush!

Good food, a bit pricey but the acoustics are honestly horrible and it is too loud in there to enjoy a meal.

Excellent Food Service was good she took my drink away it…read morewas Grey Goose on the rocks and she thought it was gone when actually it still had some flavor in it! Dessert a Cheesy Eddies cheese cake was very over priced they need to get a different vender it was so small for $9 was way disappointing!! Can't say much about the ambiance .......love the decor and it could be a great ambiance if they could float some sound absorbers, that would b awesome! I would go back again for sure! I would recommend the short ribs, cooked to perfection and not a piece of fat at all, the Demi glaze was excellent, real mashed potatoes and I would add a little more garlic for my taste to the fresh green beans but they were fresh and very good! The dessert was good but not worth the price needs to b a bigger piece or get new venders ! My husband recommends the the fish fry biggest fish we ever saw actually had fish inside the tail cooked to perfection! I would give this place 4.5 stars

The food overall was 3.5, the service was a 3…read more The "Why" behind the review: We went here to meet friends for dinner over the holidays and at first I thought this place was very cozy, and had an amazing atmosphere. The part that went wrong was the ordering of our food and when it came out. We ordered a couple of drinks and appetizers and they came and then we ordered the main entree and I kid not that within minutes the entree came out as we just started eating our appetizers so now I'm stuck with all the food and it felt very hurried. Typically, there should be some time in between the appetizer and entree but not in this case. I also noticed that at the end of our order, the waiter was looking to close out or pass us onto another waiter as his shift was ending so I wonder if there was any attribution regarding that we were his last customers. The food was ok, the mussels were excellent, however we could barely eat them, the salmon was ok, and the plating had way too much rice, could've done with 1/2 and more vegetables. My wife's salad was supposed to include chicken which we had to remind the waiter and he corrected this as it was already made but he initially forgot to bring it out. I think all these instances made me feel that the service was subpar and could've been better with the timing of food, forgetfulness, and maybe a bit hurried. I will give this place another chance because the food seems good but that night the service was not.

All of the others who didn't measure up." But take heart! All it takes is taking off the glasses and letting its hair down, and suddenly you realize just how attractive and special Railway Station Diner really is! It's the quintessential reliable diner. Above average food. Below average prices. Regulars. A counter. Good service. Quick service. The Mediterranean frittata was wholesome and filling. The ingredients, fresh. It came with roast (up charge for raisin toast, but worth it!). The breakfast sandwich with shred, too, was perfectly proportioned; the crunch of the English muffin and the squish of the sausage balanced each other exactly equally, like Neo and Smith in that third Matrix movie. But the true hidden gem was the muffin. Cut in half and grilled. With sugar crystals! Not too big. Not too small. Not so sweet as to be dessert-like. Just perfectly sweet enough to make you not regret "going savory" by getting the frittata as your main course. Next time you're asked about the best diners around, make sure Railway Station Diner is part of the pantheon.

It's been a while since I've written a review!! Lots of stuff going on in my life, mainly the fact…read moreI just moved to Rochester in December all the way from Virginia Beach to be with my first love whom I rekindled with over the past year and it's been amazing. Anyway.... you know I overshare. Furthermore, I've tried a few of the restaurants up here but I had a GREAT experience at the Great American Diner and was inspired to leave a review!! My lovely boyfriend suggested we try this place out. He said it used to be Wimpy's and it was new to him as well. Turns out that was a great decision. Walking in, all of the staff had a great attitude- everyone was in a good mood. We were seated quickly in one of the cozy booths, despite it being pretty busy. This place reminds me of the diners I used to enjoy back home. Assorted jams on the table and condiments for our use, very convenient! For seating, there is also a bar and regular tables. There are TVs that were playing game shows. The menu is quite expansive, you can get all sorts of breakfast items (omlettes, pancakes, waffles, french toast, wraps/sandwiches, platters) as well as plenty of lunch options (sandwiches, burgers, wraps, plates like roast turkey, country fried steak, garbage plates). There are even gluten-free and vegan options. I saw gluten free bread and vegan / gluten free pancakes. I decided on something simple.. a chicken salad sandwich on a hard roll with lettuce and onion. I got tater tots and mac salad with it. The bread was soft, topped with a hearty portion of the chicken salad. My tots were so crispy and delicious, and the mac salad was delightful!! Not many places get the mac salad right but I really enjoyed it! My boo got a breakfast garbage plates.. mind blown lolz!! It had home fried, sausage links, over easy eggs, cheese, and of course topped with meat sauce. You can decide if you want sausage or bacon, how you want your eggs cooked, and what kind of toast you want (bagel, biscuit, english muffin, wheat or white toast). He pretty much cleared his plate. He really liked it. I definitely want to come back here and try their other items, maybe some of their breakfast options this time. Oh, and their milkshakes... gahhh I really wanted one but I had to go into work and was worried I would have a tummy ache lol. It would have to be a day I'm willing to risk it (yes I'm lactose intolerant but sometimes it's worth it). Anyway... we will be back !!

Not gonna lie the food was not that great, had big chocolate chip pancakes which were good,…read morescrambled eggs which were bland and not that good even with salt & pepper, and I had the chicken sausage which was pretty good so the food gets a 2.5/2.8 out of 5 stars at best. Now the reason I am giving it a 5 is because when I walked in, I saw a young lady (forgot her name but she had on 9060 Black & Grey New Balances) she was working her a** off. Clearing off tables, getting people seated, getting people rung up, and she reminded me of myself when I used to work in the food industry doing the same thing. I have a true appreciation for people who work hard and do a great job even though the pay in these positions aren't that well. But however, her hard work ethic is what stood out most to me and I appreciate her working hard .
