The place was packed tonight! We waited a long time to get a table and then waited equally as long to even get someone's attention at the bar/tap area to get a drink while we waited. All I will say, is that it was worth it. The place and the menu are pretty cool/chill. Plenty of seating with firepit style table tops, extremely dog friendly, self serve water, and food/drink selections were great too. The waitress was very sweet, but was obviously overworked and busy too. She apologized and gave us free drink tokens and comped us a side order of garlic fries after they ran out of side salads. None of that was her fault, but it shows how the employees and establishment care about their valued costumers. We had the veggie focaccia, garlic fries, and buffalo parm wings (they were huge). No complaints on the quality of food or the portion size since we had more than enough to take stuff home. We will definitely come back. I live only a few minutes away by foot! First off, the service we had was amazing. Our server was so kind and helped us choose great food items and made us feel very welcome. The space is SO cool! The outdoor tables and indoor space are both equally inviting. Big bonus on air conditioning on a super hot summer day. The beers were delicious. My fave hands down was the Tropical Crushed Fruited NEIPA. What a special beer! But definitely take advantage of the smaller pour sizes and have a few different types. We went there for the first time today and were really impressed. The staff was very welcoming. Our server Ashely was so friendly and efficient - despite having to climb stairs each time to reach our table. The beer was good and there was a nice selection. The food was great- I had the burger with fries and even though I like mine really rare and they only cook medium, it was still delicious. My husband had the wings and was very pleased with the way they are cooked and the size of them. We will definitely be returning. read more

We have been in a couple times previously, so I'm not sure why I didn't give a review before, but we came in Wednesday evening for dinner and drinks and it was great. I had the most delicious tropical crushed NEIPA that gave that great IPA mildly hoppy start but a fun, fruity slightly sweet finish that was really top notch. I would order that from now on anytime it's on tap. We had the pretzel appetizer and I got a burger for dinner and my husband got salty bread pizza. All the food was fast, fresh and super tasty. I thought all the servers were very friendly too, and they worked really well together. I liked how they helped each other at other tables and even though we had one server, the others delivered and cleared each others' tables. After a long wait, we finally got to visit Irondequoit Beer Company. Who knew it was going to be for a couples' baby shower? I've heard that they had great beer but had no idea that their food was just as good. There was a variety put out for us to check out. I really enjoyed the chicken bites. If I remember right, they were garlic parm flavored. Tasty! The breakfast pizza was also good. I saw others digging in to the waffles with fresh berry topping. They have a nice variety of beers. I lean toward IPAs. They had 3 on their beer menu. They were happy to give you as many samples as you wanted. I really liked the White Lotus IPA. Did I mention the service? One word. Excellent! I've been to IBC twice now with both visits being good experiences. The patio and upstairs room are both lovely, and the inviting atmosphere keeps this in my new rotation . While we have been back numerous times over the years, I just realized that I had not updated my comments. Simply put.. the atmosphere remains welcoming, the beer remains wonderful and the food has greatly improved since my visit- years ago. While my recent visit was on a cool January evening, we have had a number of amazing visits and meals over the years. I really like visiting in the summer and dining in their outdoor space. A mile from my childhood home, The Irondequoit Beer Company knows how to make a guy feel at home (even when my home is in Syracuse now!). I've been here to meet up with friends, to take my father out while my mother is recovering in a hospital and to sample and bring their excellent brews back to the "Cuse with me! Tonight I was doing all of the above in addition to putting together my teaching materials for an upcoming class at SUNY Cortland soon. Wifi? Check... Excellent beer choices? Check... Great Food? Check! I started with a Gooseberry which is a fruited sour that is smooth and low on alcoholcontent. The owner, Nolan is always on premises and is a hardworker leading his staff to excellent customer service, food prep and service. Stopped here on a Friday night. We got here around 6:30 and the place was packed. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Most of the outdoor tables have umbrellas to shield you from the sun. Parking is a bit challenging, there is more seating than parking spots, so you may need to circle a few times until a spot opens up. We got beers at the bar awaiting an open table which turned out to be only a few minutes. I think we landed the best table outside. Up next to the building overlooking the rest of the outside court. We both got the fish and chips. Which we quickly devoured. It was fingers of thick cut cod fish nicely battered and done to perfection. The fries were just ok, could have been a bit crispier. They have a great selection of microbrews, along with options of other wine, cider, and seltzer. I asked about GF beer. They don't have any. What we had was unique and tasteful. They also offer crowlers to go of all their beers. I can't say enough about their service staff. They ALL are friendly, engaging and very attentive. They all seem to help each other, whether it's picking up dishes, delivering food, or just answering questions. More establishments should take lessons from here on customer service. This review is for Sunday brunch. My husband and in laws went here for a late Father's Day lunch and had a great meal. There was a surprising amount of outdoor seating and no wait. It can get hot out there if you're sitting at the tables without an umbrella or covering, so bring sunglasses. On Father's Day, dads got either a free beer or a free flight, so my father in law chose a flight and liked what he tried. I am not a beer drinker, so I went with a High Noon seltzer (they also carry local hard cider and various non-alcoholic drinks). My mother in law got the cold brew coffee in a can, my husband got some sort of beer that he enjoyed. The food was delicious and hot. We all shared the soft pretzels which are not your normal microwave deals. They have a crispy outside and a soft inside, and are perfectly complimented by the cheese and mustard. I had the vegan chicken and waffles for a main course and they had great flavor, though watch out for the stick in the middle of the "wings" if you order these! One slightly weird thing - I know this is a brewery but I felt plastic forks and knives were a bit weird for this atmosphere and price point. Maybe this is just for Sunday brunch if they're packed, and I'm not usually snooty about this type of thing! But it was challenging to cut our food with plasticware. Overall a very nice brunch/lunch place and I hope to return again. read more

Love the interior and vibe of this place. Our party of 6 was seated promptly up in the cozy loft area. Flights and pints were ordered. I am not usually a fan of IPAs but their beer, Crushing on Josh Fruited NEIPA, was delicious. Chicken wings and potato skins were good, too. I recommend the Stay Gold sauce for the chicken wings. My bosses and good friends and I came here for a much needed and overdue lunch together this past Friday afternoon. For me, it was my first time and I cannot wait to return. The ambiance both inside and out was great. I had the daily special, which were Spring Rolls and Korean BBQ Sauce and they chose fish with Cajun fries and the wings. I'm not a huge fan of beer, so I tried the hot cider with peanut butter whiskey. Let me tell you....I had to try it a few more times...just to be sure I liked it and all. Came here three times in the first two years and was always disappointed. Came again recently and I'm eagerly returning tonight. Each of the early times were in Covid days, out in the tent, and not in the fairest time of the year, either. The beer was disappointing, as was the food. But I always felt the place had promise and that I ought to give it another chance. Truth be told, the beer was probably not patently bad, just didn't hit the right notes for my palate. Last week though, I had one of the tastiest pale ales I've ever had and the burger and fries were as good as the excellent service. Like the space and the ambiance, as well. I think this joint might become a regular for us, especially if they keep that Irondequoit American Pale Ale on the menu, along with the Equinox Marzen that my friends liked. read more

SO excited for Irondequoit and this community! I was thrilled to pop into Irondequoit Brewing Co this past weekend to enjoy a flight and some noms. I went with all light beers, with my favorite being the Shakesbeer - a milkshake IPA, and the Pardee On being a close second. We ordered the charcuterie board and a steak taco as well. Both were a-okay and reasonably priced. In the future I'll look forward to trying out the wings and some other tasty things I saw walking by as we were sitting. This reconstructed barn space is really the star of the show for me. So many beautiful details were incorporated to make this space feel like a home away from home. From the beautiful flooring to the coazy upstairs lounge - this space is truly something special. I can't wait for my next trip! read more

Thanks to a Yelp event, I came to Irondequoit Brewing over the weekend.  I tried their cauliflower wings, and they were great!  I wanted to come back and try their vegan wings, too.  I love the vegetarian options here! They are not really setup to do take out here.  I tried to call my order in, and they won't take orders over the phone.  I really can't think of another restaurant that won't take phone orders.  I get irritated when I can't place my order online, lol.  So I went in and ordered, and it took about 15 minutes.  They were pretty busy on a Wednesday night though (which is great!) so there wasn't really a place for me to wait for it where I wasn't in the way.  They do have free wifi for your wait though. I ordered the Kickin Kauliflower again, and I got the vegan wings.  Both were good, and I'd get both again.  I thought the vegan wings came with blue cheese though, and whatever sauce it came with definitely wasn't.  It was like a mustard-y garlic type sauce.  It was ok, but not my favorite.  I'll ask for something else next time.  My husband is a meat eater, and also liked the vegan wings.  I might not have shared the cauliflower. :) I tried to get my husband a crowler of the Berried Alive, but they don't have them yet.  They said they hope to soon though.  With its location, I'm unlikely to dine in here a lot, and without being able to order takeout, I probably won't be here too often.  But it's definitely on my list for yummy vegetarian food!  They have a few other items that are veggie friendly, too. read more

Update 2 days later- a few of us went to have a late lunch- food and beer. We all had the Gold Wings- they are crispy which is awesome. And the ginger, garlic and honey sauce was tasty- but a bit sticky. Well who ever ate wings and didn't get a little messy.. Of course we had a few brews too. Usually I would say that IBC makes meh beer and pretty good food that is way overpriced. Went today for Octoberfest and the beers where meh, none where like oh wow I love this. The prices where banditry. And some of the food you even had to serve yourself from their grill in the parking lot... The entertainment was ok but they badly needed an MC and an actual hostess. We and several others stood by the wait here sign for 15 or so minutes without any staff taking our names. I get it, busy day and all but then staff for it. They are we're charging $13 for 4 soft overcooked perogies and same for a 1.5-2 cup portion of Mac and cheese. I dunno if prices were blown up bc of the holiday and knowing you'd have business but either way food was a disappointment and the friends from out of town we brought were not wowed. I wanna like this place so much but they just keep falling short. read more

Happened upon Irondequoit after finding the Genny Brew House was unexpectedly closed. Good thing -- we might not have otherwise discovered it. The brewery is just two years old -- fresh and clean interior spaces, warm and cozy outdoor seating. A few fire pits and plenty of space heaters foretell that this will be a great place for late fall and maybe even winter outdoor visits. We sampled five of their offerings. They list eight all together -- impressive for such a small brew house. Most are on the heavy side. Among those we tried were a sweet Marzen, a well balanced porter and an incredible fruity (almost lumpy) mango sour. The imperial stout was lively and complex on all fronts -- maple, caramel, hops and a high ABV. I was also happy to see vegan wings on the menu. Though they were the familiar May Wah variety, they were uniquely prepared -- moist and tender, with a Buffalo sauce that had a cumulative effect. The food was good with an appropriately limited menu. Service was good and they made sure to stay on top of things. I enjoyed all of the ones I tried, obviously liked some more than others but they were all enjoyable. The pretzel was delicious, really nice crisp outside, warm tender inside. Beautiful open airy comfy space to enjoy some fine beers. A smallish (10) but nicely varied selection of brews on tap, with multiple styles represented (ie not all IPA). I really liked the porter and the saison (flights available so you can sample a few) A few ciders and wines also on the menu. Food available-I definitely recommend the wings! These were awesome done just as I like them (not soggy!). On weekends only I believe, donuts from Ridge Donut available to pair with your beer! And yes, it actually is a thing! This was our first visit to this brewery and it went like this...Lot's of off street parking and that's always a good thing...Next we sat in what used to be a horse barn stall, very cool...Now onto the beer and chow...So the menu is limited but that's not a bad thing...We decided to order a night of appetizers instead of main courses...We had stuffed tatter tots, which were giant sized, then we had fried pickle chips, again tasty, next we enjoyed an order of Colliflower wings, also an order of ricotta and grilled bread, next 8 wings done with Korean style sauce and finally two orders of cinnamon churros, also tasty...We each had two ice cold craft brews that really hit the spot...So it was a very nice evening and the service was top shelf as well...The damage was $210 for the four of us with a 20% tip...Give them a try and enjoy the experience... read more

Place is a little shady. Went there a month ago and ordered wings. We got 10 wings in our order. They tasted good, not very meaty, but we enjoyed them. Went there tonight, got 9 wings??? Questioned the owner about it, he looked at the menu to see what it said and "realized" it actually doesn't say how many wings you get for $13.99. He went to the kitchen, came back, and said it's actually 8 wings for $13.99 and the cook threw in an extra for me so I got nine. So the cook "threw in" 2 extra a couple weeks ago??? Weird. And who serves 8 wings in a serving anyway? It's usually 10 or sometimes 12. And more importantly who charges $13.99 for 8 wings!!?? These have to be one of the most expensive in Rochester. Ordered 2 beers from the owner when he stopped at the table, five minutes later our waitress drops 2 more beers on the table and says "oh, I didn't realize you ordered from the owner" Not sure how she even knew what beers we wanted cause she never asked us and we never spoke to her about drinks. We were only planning on having a beer each, but we said you can leave them, and they charged us for the extras, which isn't horrible but c'mon you poured extra beers in error, just leave them. No need to charge for your mistake. Just strikes me as a little under-handed. Also, I ask for the bill and waitress reads off what we owe from her handheld machine, bills it to the card we provided earlier, never saw what we paid for. I don't have the best feelings about this place. Not sure I'll be back. read more

Nice place to meet up with a group! If it's particularly sunny, there is a good number of tables outside w/o any umbrella or roofing so it can get really hot. However, the staff was very accommodating and the service was great. The burger was really good, but the garlic wings (which they supposedly won as 9th in Rochester) was overly greasy and drenched in oily/buttery sauce. Next time I'll probably try the honey garlic and see if it is less in a puddle of sauce. read more
