Food was outstanding and has been each time we've been. The Ahi noshos are terrific and our dinners excellent: scallops on cheddar polenta; Salmon, Kimchi, sweet potato pancake, and fried rice (too salty) otherwise excellent especially the Kimchi influence; surf and turf (bacon wrapped meat loaf on harissa lobster mashed potatoes and the tomahawk all hit the mark. Yet the highlight of the evening our server Brad - he was outstanding - casual, knowledgeable, and attentive. Never once asked "how are we" or called anyone hun, both irritating. The only caution is the noise - high ceilings and crowds combine for a lot of screaming diners and not much to buffer the din. Brad (our waiter) was awesome! He was so knowledgeable about allergies. If he didn't know the answer, he made sure to double check with the kitchen. This was my first time visiting. My friend and I ordered mocktails which we both enjoyed. We then ordered gochu belly buns and the braised beef French onion soup. They were able to accommodate my gluten allergy and make the soup gluten free! It was delicious. For our entrees, I ordered the sweet deal salad and my friend ordered the green curry stir fry. Mine wasn't anything crazy, tasted as I expected but it was still good. My friend, on the other hand, did not love her dish. She is a big curry person and said the sauce lacked flavor (which I tried and agreed with). The tofu was nice and crispy, dry though. There wasn't enough sauce in the dish. This was the first time we had a bad experience at Nosh. Our server was wonderful, which is why this is a 3 instead of a 2 (really felt like a 2.5). I had the La Higuera cocktail which I really enjoyed and my fiancee had the Filthy Hor. She didn't love hers, but it was basically a boozy horchata so I did like it. We decided on two appetizers - the Not Your Pastor's Wings and The Mulita Meltdown. The wings had good flavor and texture. The Mulita Meltdown was good, but not good birria. It didn't feel like real birria, but it was tasty. However, I found a hair in one of the quesadilla pieces so I stopped eating that. We told our server and she offered to bring us something else, but we didn't mind knowing that we still had our entree coming. Our entree was the Okie Dokie Gnocchi and we were definitely looking forward to it. We've loved every pasta dish that they've had over the years (but the braised beef was the best, would love for that to make a comeback) and expected this would not be an exception. However, the texture was off with too many breadcrumbs on top that didn't stay crisp while we were eating. The flavor was pretty good, but it was hard to get past the texture. Then it got worse: Another hair. And it was unquestionably not one of ours either time. We were pretty disappointed. Our server was again apologetic and again offered to bring something else, but I feel it's worth noting that she didn't seem surprised either time. We declined to have her bring another dish, as we had plans elsewhere, and she comped the gnocchi instead. I was very excited to try this restaurant after numerous recommendations, and overall I did enjoy my experience. The service was good, but the waitress seemed busy so it was occasionally hard to ask for things. I was also there with someone with a nut allergy, and she had ordered the milk and honey salad with no nuts and mentioned the allergy, and received a salad with nuts :(. The food was decent, and I really enjoyed the unique selection, but a general opinion amongst the people I had been with was that it was a bit overly salted. We had no complaints on appetizers we got, which were the onion soup and the birria taco things. The green noodles were fun, but I wasn't blown away, and the okie dokie gnocchi was said to be ok, but again salty. Also, the dessert options were not great, but the dough nibs were very tasty. We ordered calamari for appetizer. I ordered a milk & honey salad with breaded chicken. I was a bit surprised because other than the generous chicken portion (for additional $10), there was very little salad for $18. But, it tasted good! For dessert, we ordered chocolate mousse cake, it tasted good but the texture was that of a mousse cake. Came for a small group dinner. I cannot recommend the ahi noshos enough. They were so delicious and fresh tasting. I also ordered the gnocchi which was insanely rich to the point where I had to take leftovers. The flavor was excellent, injust wish the mushrooms were not fried. I ordered sage advice as my drink which was refreshing. We went back for a visit to Nosh and hadn't been in a while. The original owners and executive chef are gone, and a new person has taken over (I think she's owned a few other places). The service is still friendly and professional, but I found the food lacking a certain umami. The one standout appetizer, the Tuna Nochos, used to be a must order, but this time it was just okay. The presentation was nice, but it felt like something was missing and I couldn't it my finger on it. The entrees sounded good on paper and were well presented, yet the flavors just didn't hit the mark. I used to come here for happy hour and always knew I'd get a tasty meal. The bar filled up super quick on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving . I like the fact that the bar offers half portions of saratoga sparkling, not very common. The bartender greeted us quickly with several menus including dinner coctails and nightly specials. I was offered tastings of two dry reds before deciding. We noticed every bar guest had an order of the ahi tuna nachos. So we fell in line. A half portion is enough to share with crispy airy chips to scoop all of the poke avacado and delicious toppings. Next was a small plate warmed goat cheese honey drizzle with a pickled frise of peppers and endive. The combination of cheese sweet and spice worked. And when I say spice the peppers really delivered heat. The bar seating offers views of a lovely chandelier, sprial stair case, and well presented spirit shelving. Not to mention the staff constantly curating coctails and the sound of ice in a cold shaker. Despite the building crowd the acoustics are balanced when talking with friends. The interior has towering ceilings and a large dining area but there is a warmth once you settle in for the dining experience. Logistics, price extremely reasonable, location prime, accessibility with ease. We street parked with no issue. After several visits I can rely on Nosh being consistent and hospitable. read more

We came here for happy hour on a Thursday which is 4-6 Tues-Thurs. Not a lot of people there but the kitchen doesn't open until 5. I don't really like that the wine selection and drink selection is bartender choice for happy hour. Makes it harder to make a decision and it takes up more of the bartender time. When you go to a place that has a lot of craft cocktails it slows the service down enough already. Either way I ended up getting the Paloma and my hubby had a modelo. My drink was really good. The Bills game was later that night so we didn't want to order a lot of food so we only got the wings. They were so freaking good and the ranch dressing.....THE RANCH DRESSING!!!! I want to go back and buy some that's how good it is. I'd only eaten here once before a couple years ago but was happy to see it was same bartender. Can't really miss the curly hair. I'll be back next week for happy hour for sure and want to get the ahi noshos and pizza. We also want to go back for dinner while we are still in town. The decor is amazing and the spiral staircase reminds us of one of our favorite houses in San Pedro Belize. Bathrooms were clean although the paper towel dispenser is broken in ladies room. So happy they have men's room and women's room not gender neutral. That may sound weird to some people but I don't like toilet seats being left up etc or thinking about what a guy touches to use the restroom and not wash their hands after. A fun restaurant with a spacious wide open decor. Our server Kim was attentive and pleasant. We enjoyed the food variety. Most of the entrees have multi-layers of protein, veg and garnish. I really enjoyed the Pollo Loco, our servers favorite. Other items worth coming back for were the Steak & Noodle, Milk & Honey and Shell Shock. The O.G. of Green River was nice and refreshing. The lobster pizza fell a little short. Thicker crust than we prefer and the lobster taste was lost. The ambience was great. The restaurant was filled with people. There was music in the background and conversations. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a mocktail piña colada. For an appetizer, I ordered the Goony Sticks, and for the entree I ordered the Huli Chop. The Goony stick was crispy and delicious filled with cream cheese, crab and mozzarella. Review for the back room. We've been here a few times, never knew they had a back room, but that's where we got stashed. "Apartment white" walls and bare concrete floors, feels very institutional. They put in some plants and funky light fixtures, overall the vibe is "tarted up warehouse." The service was as great as ever, everyone here is always so friendly and helpful. And the food was good, would have been great if we'd stuck with old favorites. The special was pretty mid the night we went. The cocktails were phenomenal as usual. But this is a pricey place, at least for Roc, and part of what you're paying for is the nice ambiance. I mean it's a date night spot, we go because they cultivated a romantic atmosphere. It's just not worth the money if we're going to be sequestered in a room that feels more like a garage. I guess we'd go again if we could be sure to get a table in the nice part, but then again, it doesn't seem right to charge the same prices for folks in the nice room and the folks in the storeroom. Took our good friends from LA visiting here and NOSH didn't disappoint. As a group we shared some various plates such as the Korean sampler with steam buns, ahi tuna nachos, and a few flat bread pizzas - the mushroom was my favorite. Nosh has a unique selection of cocktails everyone seemed to enjoy. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Our group raved about the food saying how good everything was! Nosh is still my favorite Rochester restaurant! They have a new owner and chef but many of the classic dishes (like the Ahi Noshos) are still on the menu. Tonight I had the Holy Cannelloni pasta with pork and it was amazing. Very rich flavor but not too heavy. I also tried the Hot Buns (pork belly bao with bulgogi sauce and Asian slaw) and the pork belly was perfect. Crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth goodness on the inside, and the slaw makes a nice textural difference to the soft bao bun. Beeshaun was a great server and did everything that we needed. I ordered the lobster empanadas and husband ordered the prime pizza. The food took a bit, but Beeshaun kept checking on us. The food was absolutely delicious. I would've given the restaurant a five star, but it was so noisy. We elected to stay, but husband said that if we lived here, he probably would not come back because of the noise. As some of the groups left, it was less noisy. I love the decor, our server was wonderful. The food was wonderful... I was surprised it was so packed for Wednesday night. I wanted to come here for a very long time. A friend and I decided to come after the Jerry Seinfeld show, and they were really busy. It was probably 9pm-ish. There was plenty of parking, which is a plus, but the dining room was full, there was a line, and the hostess seemed very flustered, and kind of irritated that so many people were there. It turns out there's a back room, and that's where we were seated. This room was sort of odd, but it actually worked out well because my friend and I were able to chat more because it was really quiet. The other people seated back there left shortly after we arrived, so it ended up being just us. The drinks were pretty good. I had two. My friend had one. The espresso martini was very good, and I love a pretty drink. Food was good, too. I wouldn't say it was excellent or anything special, but it was good. I would go back. Sitting in the back room kind of changed the experience, so I'd like to sit in the main dining room next time. Or stop in for cocktails. read more

I got the pork chop and buddy got the chicken pollo loco. Pork chop was perfectly cooked with a pink center. Puree was excellent and had roasted Brussels. I've heard about Noah but never had a reason to go as it is on the pricier side of eating. But went out to celebrate a friends successful thesis defense with a group of 9. One thing that was a little odd was that we had a to pay a reservation fee for a party over 6 that got put into a gift card which we received back at the end and could be put towards the bill. The whole system was a little odd but I can understand why they do it for busy nights (this happened even on a Thursday at 5pm when it wasn't that busy). Also they won't seat your party until the whole group is present so be prepared if you have chronically late people like some of my friends. The food is a little pricier but most of the items can be shared easily which makes them more enjoyable. We got the nachos, the fritters, two pizzas (the veggie tales and the reggie), and the Korean sit down bbq plater. Everything to say the least was amazing. I really loved the Korean food, it was spectacular and makes me want to look into more! The nachos were my second favorite item. For a party of 9 with all the food, we had a good time and spot was able to accommodate us! Definitely a nice spot for off times/days but would be probably rushed on more popular nights. read more

Dining at Nosh for my wife's birthday was a pleasurable experience. The brick building had a cozy feel with a beautifully lit bar that created a fun and welcoming presence. The server was a very nice gentleman, he checked up on us as needed and was even attentive to come and fill our waters in a discrete way that allowed my wife and I to carry on with our conversation. The food was excellent, the menu was simple and had just the right amount of items to pick from. My wife and I ordered the Lobster pizza and the Thai chili Wings. The pizza was well cooked as well as had a great portion of lobster on every slice, showed the cooks attention to detail. The wings were my favorite! They came with a tangy garlic aioli sauce that paired well with the spicy wings. All in all, for a pizza, wings, and a cocktail that my wife adored, it came out to 54 dollars. For a higher end feel this price it great for two people to go out. I would highly recommend this place for friends or a nice date. read more

We decided to do a local restaurant and this establishment was amazing. There was a steady flow of customers as we arrived early for our dinner but once inside the spacious venue we felt secluded enough to enjoy the meal at a spacious table rather than at a subway stop! The menu was well defined with one or two discreet offerings in each protein group, however these offerings were not your standard offerings. We began with an appetizer that would have easily been sufficient for a meal and then we sampled from menu its main offerings. The service team was professional to such a degree I had the sticky ribs and one of the staff prepared some hot towels for my clean up. I'm from the RVA and to come to Rochester and find this gem was outstanding. If anywhere near must stop opportunity! Reservations recommended! read more

But the wing dings were kind of dry. Wouldn't order those again. The salmon entree was good but would have liked more of the forbidden rice. A friend had the lamb shank and it lacked flavor. Nosh is always on our list when we come to town. The menu is incredible. The service is always fantastic. Great bourbon selection. The tangerine seasonal cocktail was one of my favorite sips of the year. Went last night for maybe the 4th or 5th time. One small bone to pick - the streamed bun with pork belly appetizer - maybe an off night? The pork belly to bun ratio was different than I've ever seen it at any restaurant ever; way too much pork, which was tough and inedible. All of other flavors listed on the menu description were unnoticeable. Server identified we didn't love it by what we left behind and took it back to the chef, I presume to have a conversation. I'm not one who goes out to restaurants looking for handouts but I was surprised they left it on the bill. That suggests to me that the execution of the dish was how they intend to serve it - and if that's the case, I strongly suggest reconsidering - especially since the rest of the Korean food you do is all so great! Wow! I have heard good things about this place, but I am SO glad I tried it. A group of us had a weekend reservation. The ambience is warm and wonderful, upscale but comfortable. The staff was on top of our orders and everything on the menu sounded delicious. I tried several dishes including a chorizo and fennel pizza, the ahi nashos, and for my entrée got the cioppino blanco. Everything was so delicious! At first, I was a bit hesitant at the price tag ($40 for an entrée is something to think twice about when it's not a special occasion), but wow, the value of everything. Pizza was cheesy and chewy but paled in comparison to the other two dishes. I LOVED the ahi nashos; asian fusion with crispy wontons topped with poke bowl toppings and chunks of tuna. So fun and tasty with several wonderful textures. The cioppino was also chock full of seafood and a HUGE portion. Delicious and easily shareable amongst two people. The Garden Room is a Trap. I made a reservation for my wedding Anniversary. I took the time to mention it as a Special Occasion. We got there early- maybe 10 minutes. We were immediately asked if we wouldn't mind being seated in the Garden Room. It sounded fancy. The reality was anything but. They walked us back past the kitchen, where we almost collided with two servers coming out. We then were brought to a table in what was a corridor to the bathroom. They threw up a very nice wall of succulents, but it was an echo chamber. We were in folding chairs. And we couldn't hear each other all night. Mostly due to a group of 8 women having a great night. It was giving Cafeteria acoustics, and when they finished and left we thought, 'oh cool, maybe now it will be better. No. No it didn't. By this time, it was about 9:15, and a family with two toddlers was sat where the Rowdy women were. There were three other couples sat in the space a little after we were. Each group had the same reaction upon entering we did. "...oh. Okay..." Now I know you cannot refuse service, but if you are calling yourself 'the preeminent evening destination blending unique victuals...and inviting social ambiance' you should do better. I have had great times at this place, but I won't be going back. $50 plates in a Cafeteria with kids running around screaming; not for an anniversary. Not for a regular night. Not again. read more
