    Tai Nam Pho

Have tried a handful of pho spots in Rochester, but this location is my favorite. Pretty much centrally located in Rochester. I always call ahead and my order is always ready within 5 to 10 minutes. Prices are not updated online and are a little more expensive. $15 for beef special pho. Do wish they had a spicy broth option and they charge extra for spicy sides. Overall, solid pho spot in Rochester.

Fast and courteous service, good food, and reasonable prices. Great location near Strong Hospital, museums, etc. with ample parking. A return visit is in my future!

    Chicken vermicelli with house sauce

Delicious. Great prices. Fantastic smells upon entering restaurant. Ordered the chicken vermicelli bowl with house sauce. So yummy and a great portion. This was lunch so got the tom yum soup too. Spicy and full of flavor, veggies and shrimp! So good on a cold rochester day. Cant wait to get back and try the Pho and a noodle dish with the peanut sauce!!

At 3pm on a Wednesday, this place was conveniently quiet. I frequent this place a lot, because the prices can't be beat, and it's pretty good food. Instead of getting my usual Thai iced tea (amazing), I opted for a limeade which was incredible. Not sickeningly sweet, and amazingly fresh. For my entree, I got the chicken pho, which comes with the traditional fixings of lime, bean sprouts, etc. I was pleased that they had the small chili peppers and I got a side of those chopped up for some extra spice. With the noodles, chicken, and the broth itself, I was stuffed and satisfied. It is a little basic in that they don't really serve any specialty dishes, as well as their hot sauce selection being limited to sriracha only, but sometimes simplicity is best. Plus a huge bowl of pho is only like $6 or $7.

Fantastic food, great service. Our server was super attentive the whole time. We started with the fried squid... which was phenomenal. The husband got pho & I had Pad Thai . Some of the best Pad Thai I've had! He loved his pho as well. I only got a pic of the squid because I got too sidetracked scarfing down the rest to take any more pics. Highly recommend this place.

Good pho, quick service, reasonable prices. Spring rolls were huge, but filling was 99% noodles, bland. But we'll be back for pho.

Nothing beats the winter blues like a bowl of hot pho tai! We usually get takeout, both locations have consistently good quality.

Head chef Nalee Phommachanh had the vision alongside owner (and sister-in-law) Vilay Sysavath. The family- run business offers a diverse and authentic Southeast Asian menu, a quarterly rotating chef specials menu with paired rotating drinks, and a full-service bar with specialty Soju-based cocktails and other Asian-fusion beverages. My wife and I were in Rochester for a thrift show and wanted to grab some lunch. We love Vietnamese, pho is one of my favorite foods, so we decided to give them a try and we were glad we did. The restaurant is small and jam packed full of tables, but we were still able to be sat and given menus immediately around 2PM on a Saturday. We decided to order a bunch of things and share them. Obviously, we got a bowl of pho, along with an order of egg rolls, a chicken lemongrass plate, and a couple pf Thai teas. Our food took a bit to come, but it was pretty busy, and we were very happy with our food. Everything was delicious. The grilled chicken from the platter had awesome lemongrass flavor, the pho's broth was flavorful, the egg rolls were absolutely amazing, and the portions were huge - we had plenty to take home afterwards. Employees were friendly, prices were comparable to similar restaurants. We'd definitely go again if in the area.

I've been to Roc Pho Shop a couple times now and find it enjoyable... had it been around during my…read moredays at RIT, I'm sure I would have been there regularly. Unsurprisingly, I originally visited to try the pho itself. While the pho is served with a plate of Thai basil, hoisin, siracha, sprouts and lime to add flavor, I'm still somewhat regularly disappointed in the lack of umami flavor in the broth itself. It lacks some depth. There are also times when my broth wasn't quite as hot as I would have wanted. Generally, the pho is fine... but there are better options around Henrietta and Rochester. Just something to keep in mind. I've had a variety of other dishes as well, and the pork banh mi is another that could use some improvement. In the couple times that I've had it, it seems to be very dry. I want a scrumptious banh mi with plenty of pickled veggies and a flavorful pork... but that isn't what I've experienced here. It's served with a broth on the side, and that's fine... but I want my flavor *IN* the sandwich... without having to use a broth as a substitute to add moisture to the meat or flavor to the sandwich. On a recent visit, I brought my mother. She ended up ordering the shrimp fried rice for her lunch, and, while the size was large (she ended up needing a takeout container to bring about half of it home), she found the dish to be lacking in flavor and components (noting that more vegetables might have been nice). During this visit, I also ordered the spicy cucumber salad for the first time... and also found *that* side lacking in flavor. There was an itsy bitsy amount of spice... but for something marked on the menu as spicy? It wasn't what I was expecting. Service was fine, and the overall ambience of the restaurant is inviting and clean. The entrance/exit can be a bit rough for cars that are a bit lower to the road... just something to be aware of.

For appetizers we ordered wontons in chili oil, scallion pancake, and pork belly buns. The wontons had a good filling, and were drenched in tasty chili oil. The pork belly in the buns was melt in your mouth tender with a delicious sauce. Entree wise we got the Szechuan diced chicken and the sweet and sour pork ribs. The chicken was crispy and well seasoned, I could definitely taste Szechuan peppercorn 10/10. The pork ribs were sweet and saucy they came with pieces of pineapple and bell pepper. We will be back!

The inside was clean but the AC was barely noticeable on such a hot day. Waitress came over with water and an iPad for ordering then didn't show up for another 10+ minutes. I finally walked everything over the the counter to get her attention and placed my order. I started with the fresh veggie spring rolls. These were just ok. The dipping sauce was quite spicy, and even with that they tasted pretty bland. No discernible herbs in the rolls at all, just some tofu, carrot, & lettuce. For my entree I got a vegan banh mi. It came out warm and the baguette was crunchy, if a bit dense. Again, very little fresh veg on it which is usually the highlight of a banh mi. There was a few pieces of iceburg lettuce (unheard of on a banh mi!) and one or two sprigs of cilantro, along with the same sauce from the fresh spring rolls. It was a bit disappointing but at least it filled my belly. Couldn't find the waitress to ask for more water or napkins, so I made do with what I had. I'd eat here again if I really had to, but I'd prefer to try elsewhere.
