We were quickly seated. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about food allergies. The pho was flavorful and filling. Also, because it is made with rice noodles it is gluten free. The portion sizes are generous (I had enough to take home with me for another meal this week). We also tried the mango sticky rice for dessert, which was delicious and the perfect sweet finish.
I've been to Roc Pho Shop a couple times now and find it enjoyable... had it been around during my days at RIT, I'm sure I would have been there regularly. Unsurprisingly, I originally visited to try the pho itself. While the pho is served with a plate of Thai basil, hoisin, siracha, sprouts and lime to add flavor, I'm still somewhat regularly disappointed in the lack of umami flavor in the broth itself. It lacks some depth. There are also times when my broth wasn't quite as hot as I would have wanted. Generally, the pho is fine... but there are better options around Henrietta and Rochester. Just something to keep in mind. I've had a variety of other dishes as well, and the pork banh mi is another that could use some improvement. In the couple times that I've had it, it seems to be very dry. I want a scrumptious banh mi with plenty of pickled veggies and a flavorful pork... but that isn't what I've experienced here. It's served with a broth on the side, and that's fine... but I want my flavor *IN* the sandwich... without having to use a broth as a substitute to add moisture to the meat or flavor to the sandwich. On a recent visit, I brought my mother. She ended up ordering the shrimp fried rice for her lunch, and, while the size was large (she ended up needing a takeout container to bring about half of it home), she found the dish to be lacking in flavor and components (noting that more vegetables might have been nice). During this visit, I also ordered the spicy cucumber salad for the first time... and also found *that* side lacking in flavor. There was an itsy bitsy amount of spice... but for something marked on the menu as spicy? It wasn't what I was expecting. Service was fine, and the overall ambience of the restaurant is inviting and clean. The entrance/exit can be a bit rough for cars that are a bit lower to the road... just something to be aware of.
Doesn't seem to be a lot of pho joints in Roch. Found this place on Yelp of course. I sat outside and had a bowl of brisket only pho. I was curious if it was going to have the sweeter broth. It is but just a hint of that sweet. We eat pho all over the country and have many Vietnamese friends. I typically use more basil than what they gave me but LOVED the peppers not your typical jalepeno gave it a perfect kick. The place is very clean. 2 nice bathrooms. Plenty of parking and close to interstate. My server was sweet and attentive. I'll be back before we leave in a few weeks to go back home to Tampa. Oh and they have booze!!!
The food here is amazing and we always come back when we're craving good viet food. The pho is delicious, with generous portions of meat and noodles. The pork spring rolls are also so delicious, you wrap them in the lettuce, add the shredded daikon and carrots, then dip in the fish sauce. Service is quick and the staff are very attentive. The interior is also very nicely decorated
The pho is authentic and flavorful. Comes with beef and beef balls but option to add in tendon and other goodies. The broth is good and there's always a debate of adding condiments or not. You get a fresh side of Thai basil, hoisin, siracha, bean sprouts and lime. The best appetizer is the fried squid! There's so much flavor. We ordered two portions. The eggrolls were crunchy and come with a side of dipping sauce. The fried chicken wings were super crispy but juicy inside. The lemongrass pork chop was mediocre. I've had better. The pork was dry with salty notes but no umami. It came with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and a fish sauce dipping sauce. The broth it came with was nice but very salty. The side of rice was definitely needed to counteract the saltiness of this dish. The banh mi was lackluster. Mediocre is giving it too much credit. It was not a great banh mi. Very dry. No flavor. Burnt bread after having asked for it to be untoasted. It also came with a salty broth, maybe to add some moisture and life back into the banh mi itself. Very disappointed in the banh mi. Would not recommend and would not order again. I'd go down the road to get better bang mi. Atmosphere is great. Hip, clean and modern. Seating is limited indoors but there's a patio for warmer months. The look of the restaurant is modern and very nice. There's a private parking lot and handicap accessible. I would probably only come back for pho and squid. I'd stay away from other food items.
1st time dining here and it was really good. The fried shrimp and calamari combo was yummy with a nice kick to it. My husband had the brisket and rare steak pho and I had the brisket kapoon. Both were delicious and very flavorful. Service was good but you can tell that they were kind of short staffed. There was only 1 girl taking orders for the entire place, but she rocked it. We got our food in a timely manner. The restaurant itself is kind of small and get packed easily. But a very nice gem in the Henrietta area. Will definitely go back!
We're not usually this far out but we were hungry and didn't want the usual. Almost drove past them! It's a small but modern building. There's outdoor seating and maybe seats for 20 inside. The menu is simple with various kinds of Pho, Bahn Mi and a few other items. Surprisingly, they also have an assortment of drinks including cocktails. We got the crispy squid which was not the usual calamari style. Def getting it again! The squid was crispy with a little kick but not overwhelming with heat. We each got a version of beef pho with no complaints. The Thai iced tea was creamy and refreshing. They use a version of nugget ice for the cold drinks. Off-St parking, friendly service, clean restrooms!
It's a nice little restaurant offering Pho and some Thai food. I ordered a Beef Special Pho and Fried Chicken Wings on the side with a Thai Iced Tea for a drink. The Pho was okay, but the portion pretty generous. The Thai Iced tea was really good. Would definitely recommend this if you are visiting the place. Service is also good and prompt. The place was getting busy when I was there, but I didn't need to wait too long before my food came. The setting pretty casual and good for groups as well. Seems to be popular among young people as well.
We checked out ROC Pho Shop today over near RIT. It's a cozy little place with a lovely patio. We tried shrimp tom yum soup, papaya salad, fresh tofu rolls, and fried veggie rolls, rare beef and brisket pho, and pineapple fried rice. Everything was fantastic. This may be the best pho that we've tried in Rochester! Service was great as well. This place was so wonderful, we are sure to return!
My favorite pho spot! The only thing is that it's a bit cold inside, I never took my coat off haha
The food was delicious. I ordered papaya salad, pork egg rolls, chicken pho and pad Thai. They were all really flavorful and delicious. The pad Thai didn't taste like peanut butter base, I would definitely recommend it. The service was fast and the staff were really friendly, and helpful when it came to choosing what to order. The ambiance was clean, modern and small. Nice place for a lunch date.
Food was authentically delicious. I had the shrimp khao piek sen which was perfect, my husband had the beef special pho. He remarked that this might be his new go-to spot for pho in Rochester and I agree! I got the mango sticky rice to go and holy moly. Five stars for that alone. Ambience - clean, modern, peaceful. Staff - friendly and knowledgeable. Prices - on par for the market. Not cheap, but not pricing themselves out of business either. We can't wait to come back here!!
***3.5 Stars*** I just came back from a quick lunch. I was excited to try pho option in town. This restaurant is situated near RIT as a standalone restaurant. It is small, but cozy and new inside. I ordered the beef special pho for $15 and my buddy had the kapoon. The fact that they serve kapoon suggests that owners might be Laos. We also shared the special wings and the calamari. Honestly, this place reminds me of SEA a bit, which isn't a bad thing. Menu-wise and taste-wise a lot of similarities, especially with the calamari and pho. It is a tad-bit pricier (ie. pho special is $15 vs $12) with smaller portions though. Service was friendly and prompt. Taste-wise the broth was just okay. Well-seasoned (salty) but missing some aromatics and depth of flavor. Doesn't make top 3 pho in Rochester, in my opinion, but not bad.

Stop in for a bite to eat on a Friday evening. The place was so busy and they even had people outdoors eating. It was very loud and cold since the door was propped open. We decided to do a takeout order. We both ordered Rare Steak Pho. The lady explained how to boil the broth at home and the steak will cook in it. It was so good and tasty and a very good portion size. I would love to go back and try more menu items. TIP: Do not park in the laundromat next door as the owner will tow your car as he made it very clear when he came in there that night. read more

I am Vietnamese and this pho comes close to the rare steak pho my mom makes at home. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for some authentic delicious pho. Service was fast and friendly as well! read more
Ate here with my daughter. We both love trying new restaurants. It's a cozy place. They've found a way to fit quite a few seats in a smaller area, and it is well done. The food was great. We had the shrimp ceviche app, kapoon-beef brisket, and my daughter had a special that escapes me. The ceviche was great. A little spice but not enough to hurt. The Kapoon was great as well, I am a fan of curry flavors. My daughter's order was great. She enjoyed it, but decided to forego the pork knuckle that came in it so I got a bonus! Waitress was super attentive. Overall great experience. Can't wait to go back. read more

Wonderful renovation of previously abandoned small building. Bright, modern, and clean appearance. Some indoor and outdoor seating when weather allows. I ordered online and meal was ready, hot, and well packed at time stated. I had the crab rangoons which were crispy and flavorful. Also had an order of the fresh shrimp rolls, which came with peanut sauce - another great option. My husband had the Beef Pho bowl. The broth here is some of the most flavorful I have ever had, such a depth of flavor! Highly recommend this location for eat-in or take-out, excellent addition to the area. read more

They are super busy and hard to get a table quickly. The waiting is worthwhile! Their food was so delicious! The waitress is super nice and makes suggestions that we all would enjoy. The food portion is perfect and very fresh! I approved it! The environment is very Asiany and I love it. However I want to stress that they are very busy during dinner hour so I would recommend you to come in for lunch when it is less busy. read more

It is a nice place to have Pho, spring roll, pad Thai. We were sitted quickly around 2pm on weekday. The food came out quickly. The pho soup tasted just right, so is the yummy pho noodles, I wish there are more beef tendon, but overall it's good. The place is clean and a modern interior. read more

So glad to have this wonderful place in town. Close to RIT, it is sure to be a regular stop for students, but definitely welcoming to all. The service was wonderful and I really liked how the "check" came with a QR Code allowing me to pay from my phone. Our weight staff were attentive and helpful. But the food was the highlight. The Pho was great, the egg rolls wonderful So glad we came to this cozy place! read more

Roc Shop Pho is the nicest, most clean pho restaurant in Rochester I've visited to date. Newly built, bright lighting, with plenty of tables. Ordered pho to go and my food was ready in 5 minutes. Service is friendly and accommodating for my minor substitutions. Price for beef special pho is $15 which is standard in Rochester. I noticed the broth is much darker than most restaurants, suggesting they may roast the bones before simmering. The broth is delicious and the key to good pho! All in all a great experience and I will definitely be back again. read more
The servers are amazing there. Great and welcoming. Comfortable seating and the pho was amazing. I also had a smoothie as well which was delicious. I'm going to make it back there soon because I have to say it was one of the best who's I've had in Rochester! read more

Me and my friend decided to try out Roc Pho Shop because we were having a craving for some delicious pho and were not disappointed! The shop's decor is very modern and the staff were very friendly and attentive! The building itself is not super large, but there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and it wasn't too loud an environment. You can also choose wherever you want to sit at the restaurant, which is a plus! The food was amazing! We ordered the pork egg roll appetizer (2pc) which was delicious and the pho with rare beef (eyeround steak) bowls and they were so good! The broth was amazing and they provide the table with a platter of different additives to incorporate into the flavors of your bowl according to your preferences! We both got drinks to try out which were ok, but the watermelon limeade was not my favorite. Overall, you should definitely give this place a try!! read more

Pho broth was not hot enough to cook my steak on the side. I couldn't chew it as it was still rare. I asked for chili oil and the waitress told me it would be an additional $1. Look at the amount $1 gets you. The size of the pho bowl was for a child. I'm from the CA Bay Area and the reviews would have been very harsh regarding the size of the pho. The broth taste was a 7 out of 10. read more
