    Beef pho

Staff is very friendly. Portions are large & food came out hot. My daughter was not a fan of the beef kids pho but did enjoy the sticky rice. My beef pho was tasty once I added in the accompaniments but didn't taste like any beef pho I have had before. There wasn't much meat but plenty of noodles.

Ordered a bunch of items to go. Everything was SO GOOD! The fried shrimp rolls were unique and delicious. The beef jerky was amazing and the sticky rice pairing was just what was needed. Bo luc lac with noodles and papaya salad were my fav!

We had a yen for Vietnamese food, this place does not disappoint. Jeremy waited on us, very nice, made good recommendations. Pho King is very clean, even the ladies room!! The food is so good. This time we ordered tira misu, delish!! We will be back!

***4.5 Stars*** Great spot if you know what to order. Admittedly, the pho is just okay....so the restaurant's name is a bit of a misnomer. Granted I ordered the pho to-go, so that may have affected my experience, but I thought the broth could have been richer (more oily if that makes more sense) and more aromatic. After this, I was a little bit disappointed with the restaurant. However that changed when my friend redirected me to order particular items on the menu. More specifically, the Laos dishes. The Beef Laap is probably my favorite dish, a spicy steak salad that's served with sticky rice. It's a flavor bomb of savory, sour and umami. It also has good textural contrast with crispy lettuce and sticky rice. I will order this every time now. Another standout dish is the Chicken Red Curry, which I think is a version of the Laos dish Kapoon. It's rich and coconutty with a tad bit of sweetness. Not very spicy. It's a hearty dish, especially if you ask for extra broth. The satay and fresh spring rolls are also really good and well-portioned. Good riddance to the old Mexican restaurant that it replaced. The owners have really done a good job with renovations and the restaurant feels modern, chic and cozy. Overall, I am a fan (even though I don't order the pho).

    BÚN BÒ HUÊ

Stopped by with my wife and daughter this past weekend. They have done a great job with the interior. Great decor but not a lot of seating. The place was hopping and we decided to sit at the bar. It was a great overall experience. Food was good. We had spring rolls and calamari for appetizers. My wife commented on how fresh and crispy the calamari tasted. Spring rolls were good also. Entrees we had chicken bahn mi, chicken udon, and I had the BÚN BÒ HUÊ. All were enjoyed. The BÚN BÒ HUÊ was spicy and made me cough a few times, but surprisingly wasn't a burn your taste buds out hot. Very enjoyable for someone who thinks they like spicy but can't handle extreme heat. It was the kind of heat that builds up, makes you sweat from your eyes a little but is overall delicious. I finished the bowl. Will definitely be back to try some other items on the menu.

If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. This place is that good. Every single dish I've tried here has been phenomenal -- the kind of food that makes you slow down and savor every bite. The pho is rich, fragrant, and clearly made from scratch; you can taste the love and care that goes into the broth alone. But honestly, don't stop there -- everything on the menu is worth exploring. Every visit, I make it a point to try something new, and it's always a winner. The food is incredibly authentic and obviously made in-house -- nothing feels prepackaged or rushed. From the freshness of the herbs to the tenderness of the meats, it all just hits. You can tell this is a place where quality and tradition truly matter. The service is just as impressive. Everyone is so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. You feel like you're being cared for, not just served. I only wish I lived closer so I could come every week! But even though it's a bit of a trek for me, I still find myself making the trip as often as possible -- it's absolutely worth it every time. If you love Vietnamese food, or even if you're just dipping your toes in, do yourself a favor and come here. You'll be hooked from your first bowl.

The atmosphere is cozy and upscale; the glassware are beautiful, the service is timely, courteous, and attentive; the food is delicious! I had the Bún Bò Huê and the pork fried egg rolls. Phenomenal. Now I have them a three because the last time I ate there, I wanted to pay using Apple Pay. Well I guess they prefer not to accept it despite their capability, due to increased fees on their end per transaction. If memory serves, the waitress cashing me out said it was $0.30 per transaction. A pity. Sadly, I will no longer patronize Pho King.

When I first walked into Pho King, I could smell the goodness and the food and service did not disappoint. I don't like to review based only on take out, but this was exceptional so here it goes. I placed my take out order and then had a Pandan gimlet. The owners husband made the cocktail and it was great. A very interesting and delicate flavor which was delicious. The bar is full, service and looks to have some nice bourbons and tequilas. The presentation of the dishes looked amazing, so I am anxious to go back and dine in very soon. The traditional Pho was amazing. The broth has a very delicate flavor and was enhanced with the condiments. Shrimp rolls has a whole shrimp and very tasty. The bahn mi has fresh crispy veggies and just the right amount of mayo. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the dished and the preparation. The decor was whimsical and a fun place to eat at the bar, or dinner tables. Well done and hats off to the owners and staff.

At $117 for the two of us, including tax and tip, we expected a lot more than we got. Let's start with the positives. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The building itself is a converted bank, and the old vault is a striking architectural feature, though we didn't dine in it. The restaurant also deserves credit for offering some vegan options, including one vegan entrée. That said, the issues outweighed the highlights considerably. The noise level was genuinely awful. We were at a table of eight and had trouble hearing each other. The space felt sparse and cold, not in a minimalist-chic way, but in an unfinished way. The whole "Bonnie and Clyde" theme has such strong possibilities it's a shame they didn't pursue them. The food was mediocre and overpriced. I ordered two vegan sides instead of an entrée: French fries and a roasted beet salad. I asked the waiter to prepare the fries vegan-style with just ketchup, but they arrived with two sides of non-vegan aioli anyway. The fries themselves were average. The beet salad was fine but small and forgettable. My wife ordered the king trumpet mushrooms, the only vegan entrée on the menu. The mushrooms were decent, nothing more. Her cocktail special, a kiwi and vodka drink, was watery and bland. A few other frustrations: the vegan items are not labeled as such on the menu, which is an easy fix that would doubtless help many diners. There is only one vegan entrée, which feels thin. And Lagunitas non-alcoholic beer is available, but you would never know it, since it does not appear on the drinks menu. We will not be returning.

Pretzel pillows were deep fried and tasty, beer cheese looked like it was going to be lumpy and cold but it was surprisingly very good. I would have liked a mustard sauce of some type as well. I might line the bowl with something that absorbs instead of the wax paper. I had to blot several pretzels on my napkin. Stuffed pepper soup tasted great but there was not one drop of broth. It was more like a scoop of tomato rice that could be eaten with a fork. I did like it though. Husband got 10 wings and appreciated the availability to split into 2 flavors. He ordered the "make it a plate with mac salad and fries" but the wings came out solo. When I reminded the waitress they were missing she immediately went to correct that but it still took about 15 minutes to come out. She comped us a Coke for the wait which was sweet but not necessary. Fries were unique, like steak fries but thinner and less mealy. They were almost roughed up or lightly breadcrumbed. We liked. Big disappointment in the mac salad. It tasted like a gluten free option and weirdly crumbled as I chewed. I almost spit it out. Very strange. I'm not sure if I'd go back.

Reservations can be hard to come by and go quickly. I found information on reservations from The DeLand House on Main Facebook page. When you arrive the entrance is tucked away on the side. There was an employee at the door who greeted us and asked for our reservation name. He then asked us for the password which I did not remember. Thankfully he gave us a hint. The experience of getting to the bar area is very fun. As this is a speakeasy the entrance is hidden in plain sight. You must go up a flight of stairs, down a hallway, and from there you'll need to find a certain button to reveal an additional flight of stairs. We really enjoyed the spectacle of this part. We got to the bar area and were surprised by how packed it was. We had a table with a view next to a lovely window seat (great photo opportunity) The decor is fun and inviting. We also enjoyed the beautiful plates and silverware. Service was wonderful. Every employee we encountered was engaging and we felt they made effort to make the experience special. Food and drinks were enjoyable. The signature cocktails are 15 dollars a piece. Beer (canned) and wine is also available. I ordered the corpse reviver no 2. Cocktail. Lightly sweet and fruity. The menu offers a variety of small plates. We tried the chicken meatballs, whipped mozzarella & balsamic tomatoes, and lemon creme profiteroles. Everything was tasty but nothing mind blowing. My favorite were the lemon creme profiteroles which featured a triple berry coulis. The flavors were refreshing and summery. The seating area did have some cool air flow through from time to time but after being up there for a bit we started to feel warm. Overall, The Blind Pig is a very fun and unique experience. We enjoyed the setting (we secured a couch) for the two of us. The drinks were very good, although at least the first one I had was a bit small (more in the second). Really enjoyed the combinations. And it'snice that they have non-alcoholic versions for those who prefer that. The small bites, in my opinion were outstanding, and we sampled everything we could (except the peanuts). It's not quite a full meal, however, even after sharing 5 of the offerings so we went elsewhere afterwards for a bit more. I do like that they let you linger and don't push you, though we were out in about an hour and a half. For 2 (three cocktails, 1 glass of wine, 5 small plates, $103.72 + 20% tip, $124.46. I would recommend that everyone try this at least once (though I'm unsure if it is accessible for those with mobility issues. A lot of stairs in an old building. Finally, I commend the owners for all that they are doing at the Deland House. Lots of innovative project and a fascinating place for weddings and banquets. Though I do miss the ol' Mr. Dominic's.
