My husband says "best fish fry he's ever had!" My only complaint is in the dark it was hard to find. Could have been lit up better.

We stopped by Salt on a Friday around 5:30 PM. We had to wait 15 minutes for a table, which isn't bad. Everyone that helped was super friendly. When we got there, it didn't seem very busy, but they had reservations and by the time we left the place was full. Food came out warm. The Asian brussel sprouts apprizer was delicious. Our little guy enjoyed the French fries, but wouldn't touch the burger. My Ruben was okay. I think there was way too much bread to very little meat. My husband said his burnt tips special was okay. We did have a problem with the waitress inputting the wrong food for my husband. She corrected the error right away and he did not wait long. But then she charged us for both items. Which then again had to be corrected. Overall I wouldn't turn anyone away from salt. Our experience was good, food is okay. read more

I live quite close to Salt and somehow always end up somewhere else. I reviewed the restaurant when the first opened and was mixed in my opinion as food and service we just ok. I returned Friday night and was happily surprised by our meal. All in our group enjoyed our meals. I especially liked the Beef Milanese special. It was not over cooked and the lightly dressed salad served with it was perfect. Others in our party had the Sausage and Potatoes, which they were surprised to see was just that. 2 large sausages and several small potatoes were on the plate. That's it. This dish needs more to it to make it something to serve in a restaurant. A sauce, and maybe small salad to add acid and texture to the dish. One other in our group had fish tacos which were nicely served but were obviously using fish sticks for the protein. This was disappointing. The last in our group had Peruvian Chicken. They said the enjoyed the sauce. They have improved since they first opened and I'll have to give them a try again soon. read more

Salt is a sure dining experience. We enjoyed the ambiance as well as our meals. We were seated by hostess without a reservation, mid week. Attentive friendly waitress. Delicious french onion soup. Fried tomato BLT, homemade chips, fish tacos....yummy. Ample off street parking. read more

We love love love love Salt!! First of all the atmosphere is 10/10! Super cozy in dark winter days, not too fancy, but much updated since Noonan's. The bar area is also super cute with a lot of TVs! They also have a lot of outdoor space for drinks or dinner/lunch/brunch. The food is always top notch! I've been looking for a place like this and never find it, but it truly is elevated bar food. Everything we get is always 10/10. Our favorites have been the crab cake (best we've ever had), roast pork and greens, chicken katsu, and Peruvian chicken. I love that they use amazing grains breads for the buns and sandwiches. The service is also always spot on. Go to Salt!! read more

Stopped in at the last minute without reservations on a busy Friday night on our way to a nearby show. Had expectations of a wait, but they were able to get a table for us immediately. Drinks were cold, service was fast, and our server was friendly and helpful. Our table of four ordered a variety from the menu, a fish fry, broiled fish dinner, a burger plate and a salad. All the dishes were on point, and we were all very satisfied. A comfortable and clean ambiance. Will return on our next visit! read more

We were happy to see a new restaurant open in the old Noonan's location and stopped in for a light dinner. The atmosphere is much the same as before with just a few updates... So, roomy and comfortable with some nice outdoor seating. The service was very good... We loved our server and all of the staff was very nice and efficient. The food was a little lacking. My wife's French onion soup was, in the words of our granddaughter, just mid. It had an odd flavor and the slice of cheese wasn't even melted. The chili was no better. It had an odd, sweet flavor that I wouldn't associate with chili. Both were decent but nothing we would order again. However, we did see some some menu items that really got our attention so Salt will be getting another chance and I will update after we have tried some other dishes. read more

Went to Salt last week. They have done a great job refreshing the interior from former Noonan's including the menu. Food was good, we had lobster mac(table favorite), a salad, and burnt ends x2. Burnt ends were good and very tender, but no bark(aka the burnt in burnt ends). The corn casserole was a delish side. The service was amazing. Maida was cheery, very attentive, and made sure we were taken care of. To the extent that the kitchen mixed up an order of tots for fries. We left with enough tots to feed a small army. They have a lot of interesting dishes on the menu that I will be back to try and the great service helps with a repeat visit! read more

We've eaten here a couple more times since my last review and the food quality has declined. The Peruvian Chicken that was very good earlier was bland with no discernible seasoning in both the chicken and accompanying Green Salsa. We left half of it. The Sweet Potato fries were very good. We also had the Braised Pork Sandwich with Lemon-Feta fries and spicy Rappi. (Broccolini) The sandwich looked good with a bakery roll, sautéed greens, cheese, and a ( supposedly ) spicy Mayonnaise. It tasted bland like the chicken and the thinly sliced pork had no flavor. The Greek style fries were undercooked and had a very few pieces of Feta Cheese added to them.The side of Rappi was very good. The service and atmosphere were both good. read more

Very cute patio area where we were seated promptly without reservations. I got the steak frites dish. Disappointing is the only way to describe it. I ordered it medium and about 15% was actually cooked to that temperature. The ends were so overcooked that there was not even a touch of pink. When I mentioned it to the waitress she said to try cutting it in the middle. She did give me a free dessert to take home, so at least she tried to make up for it. The dessert tasted like it came from the frozen foods aisle and was warmed up. My friend greatly enjoyed her pork sandwich which is the only reason I am not giving this restaurant a lower score. What a winner this restaurant is! We had tried to get in once before but we needed a reservation. So surprising for a a restaurant that just opened. It was so worth the wait. The decor is modern and bright, the old booths are history. The food and drinks were so good. Lauren was attentive, explained the menu and brought water and our drinks very quickly. I ordered burnt ends which is a braised beef meal, incredibly good but could use a sauce. Hubby got braised beef of a Salty roll! the french fries were fresh and yummy. The drink menu is eclectic, such cute names. My Tito with grapefruit juice had a salted lime on top, I thought it was weird but stirred it in. To my surprise it was just what the drink needed. Have visited this local restaurant several times and have enjoyed every menu item I've had there. As for the previous negative comments about the hostess, clearly these individuals have never owned a restaurant. Owners rely on reservations in order to be properly staffed. Unfortunately most people do not understand the pressures and obstacles that happen when on a busy night, people come in expecting to be seated without a reservation! But is this really what our world has come to---complaining about every silly occurrence that isn't what they wanted??? Friday afternoon take out. Have had lunch twice inside since they opened. All good except no dessert at lunchtime?( strange). Waitress said you have to try the fish fry! Well l did! First , it is reasonably priced for portion size. Second , the fish was amazing! Fresh tasting and actually more fish then beer batter! One of the best fish fry's l have had. Third, Coleslaw pieces of cabbage cut thicker than the minced up ones some place have. Tasted nice and not overly mayo! Fourth, only negative but personal preference, too much salt on fries. The hostess was rude and said they track all the orders and the time and that we " only waited 45 minutes ". That's still too long. She then gave us a sarcastic " have a great day". Since the new Salt. opened (formerly Noonan's) it's been a favorite place to go. We decided to hosted a 30 guest event and from start to finish the service, food, drinks and atmosphere was fantastic. Their reservation system makes going to dinner nice as you know your table is ready with no waiting. Their drink menu is fun and food delicious. Asked if we had reservations only to have indicate they were fully booked at 5:00 That's fine but the restaurant was empty. She was rude an obnoxious. We wont to go back. Salt just had their grand opening last week so we thought we'd give it a try before everyone finds out about it. We were warmly welcomed, seated promptly with a reservation, water glasses were filled right then, and there was more water in a bottle left on the table for us. Waitress was sweet and attentive. First off, this restaurant has Coke, the best cola. It's hard to find a place that serves Coke these days. The iced tea isn't fresh brewed, it comes from the soda fountain, which I find sour, so I passed on that. The menu has a wide variety of categories, and it was hard to choose. I ended up with a fried green tomato blt on toasted sourdough. I asked for the bacon to be cooked well done and it came as requested. I asked for a side of remoulade sauce, which I saw on the menu with another item. I've never seen FGTs without remoulade so I highly recommend they start including it on the side. It totally made that sandwich and I would order it ten more times. My husband ended up with burnt ends, which came with a slice of cornbread casserole and a small cup of coleslaw. All 3 were delicious, he just wished the burnt ends had a bit of extra sauce over top. We also shared a side of onion rings. It was about 10 big thick onion rings for $3.75. In fact, all the prices seemed very reasonable compared to places we've been recently. I prefer beer battered rings, but these were pretty good for panko crusted or whatever they were. They came with a side of ketchup, needed a bit of salt which we added. Very crispy. We're glad we stopped in and will definitely be back! read more

Recently opened nearby and we wanted to try it out. Walked in at 5pm on Saturday with 5 people and was treated very rudely by the hostess. A few of us in the group were shocked at the loud, distasteful comments made by the hostess. We had 2 appetizers and 5 meals, and some cocktails. The place filled up a bit while we were there. Some food options were good and some were underwhelming. Prices are high for entrees with no sides included. We had a couple hiccups with service that our waitress tried to rectify. (Dirty plates and not enough plates brought at first for everyone at table) If it's still open in a year, we might try it again. Definitely just opened with some major issues. read more

Horrible.... Never going back! Bad food & unfriendly hostess & waitress! The burger I ordered had no flavor on a stale roll. The 2 others ordered a fish fry.... Couldn't find the fish with all of the breading. It was served with no lemon slices and we didn't dare to ask the waitress because she was so short with us and rude. They serve you warm water to drink that comes in a glass bottles with very, very small glasses to drink it out of. I took one sip & had to order a different drink that I really didn't want. Love this place! It has such a great, relaxed vibe. I've eaten there twice and my wife and I plan to make it a regular place to go. The bread for the sandwiches is fantastic (local) and such a game changer. Ingredients are fresh, there is a great simplicity to the dishes that works so well. When we walked in on a Saturday at 5pm, the hostess rudely asked if we had reservations. I didn't know you would need reservations for this kind of place, and there were literally 6 tables filled. She replied back, well it is a Saturday. She sat us in the bar which was fine and after an hour, the tables were still empty. Then the "important" guests with reservations starting coming, you could tell because the hostess finally had a smile on her face and was hugging all these "important" guests. We were really excited to try this place because I heard great things about the food from a friend but the hostess really ruined our entire experience. I really hope the hostess isn't an owner because that is a horrible way to treat customers. And if you recommend Reservations then state that on your website because a bar/Pub normally doesn't take reservation. Also, get some larger glasses for water. read more
