Salt is a sure dining experience. We enjoyed the ambiance as well as our meals. We were seated by hostess without a reservation, mid week. Attentive friendly waitress. Delicious french onion soup. Fried tomato BLT, homemade chips, fish tacos....yummy. Ample off street parking.

We were happy to see a new restaurant open in the old Noonan's location and stopped in for a light dinner. The atmosphere is much the same as before with just a few updates... So, roomy and comfortable with some nice outdoor seating. The service was very good... We loved our server and all of the staff was very nice and efficient. The food was a little lacking. My wife's French onion soup was, in the words of our granddaughter, just mid. It had an odd flavor and the slice of cheese wasn't even melted. The chili was no better. It had an odd, sweet flavor that I wouldn't associate with chili. Both were decent but nothing we would order again. However, we did see some some menu items that really got our attention so Salt will be getting another chance and I will update after we have tried some other dishes.

My husband says "best fish fry he's ever had!" My only complaint is in the dark it was hard to find. Could have been lit up better.

I ordered burnt ends which is a braised beef meal, incredibly good but could use a sauce.

The service was inattentive and food was mediocre. Everything seemed previously frozen. When the Buffalo Bills came on at 8pm, all the tables tried to get closer to their small outdoor bar with a few extra high tops. All the waitresses left and those of us left outside were asked to go inside to order. The outdoor bartender was also inattentive and planned to leave shortly after the game started. I would suggest not advertising yourself as a sports bar or having Bills events if you're not going to staff your outdoor area on a nice summer night

The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, with some soft music playing, and sports on the TV. Our server was over within minutes to take our drink orders. We ordered the mozzarella half moons and an order of chicken wings as appetizers. The mozzarella half moons were not too great. They did not have much flavor and they tasted kind of old. But, the chicken wings were the star of the show. We got the Cajun gold sauce and wow... it was so good. There wasn't much of a Cajun flavor to it, but it had this tangy sweet flavor to it that made your mouth salivate. And the chicken wings themselves were fried to the perfect crisp. I ordered the turtle plate with cheeseburgers, french fries, and mac salad. The cheeseburgers and French fries were cooked well. The mac salad was lacking flavor and was just kind of watery. The meat hot sauce atop the plate had too much of a cinnamon flavor for me, that kind of ruined the whole plate for me. My dad order their special fried oyster po boy, which he said wasn't too great. He said the fried oyster were kind of cold, and they were put on a plain roll. My mom got a burger, which she said was a fine burger. I definitely will be back in the future at least for those wings, and to probably try some of their other food.

Reservations can be hard to come by and go quickly. I found information on reservations from The DeLand House on Main Facebook page. When you arrive the entrance is tucked away on the side. There was an employee at the door who greeted us and asked for our reservation name. He then asked us for the password which I did not remember. Thankfully he gave us a hint. The experience of getting to the bar area is very fun. As this is a speakeasy the entrance is hidden in plain sight. You must go up a flight of stairs, down a hallway, and from there you'll need to find a certain button to reveal an additional flight of stairs. We really enjoyed the spectacle of this part. We got to the bar area and were surprised by how packed it was. We had a table with a view next to a lovely window seat (great photo opportunity) The decor is fun and inviting. We also enjoyed the beautiful plates and silverware. Service was wonderful. Every employee we encountered was engaging and we felt they made effort to make the experience special. Food and drinks were enjoyable. The signature cocktails are 15 dollars a piece. Beer (canned) and wine is also available. I ordered the corpse reviver no 2. Cocktail. Lightly sweet and fruity. The menu offers a variety of small plates. We tried the chicken meatballs, whipped mozzarella & balsamic tomatoes, and lemon creme profiteroles. Everything was tasty but nothing mind blowing. My favorite were the lemon creme profiteroles which featured a triple berry coulis. The flavors were refreshing and summery. The seating area did have some cool air flow through from time to time but after being up there for a bit we started to feel warm. Overall, The Blind Pig is a very fun and unique experience. One of a kind for this area and makes for a fun night out.

We enjoyed the setting (we secured a couch) for the two of us. The drinks were very good, although at least the first one I had was a bit small (more in the second). Really enjoyed the combinations. And it'snice that they have non-alcoholic versions for those who prefer that. The small bites, in my opinion were outstanding, and we sampled everything we could (except the peanuts). It's not quite a full meal, however, even after sharing 5 of the offerings so we went elsewhere afterwards for a bit more. I do like that they let you linger and don't push you, though we were out in about an hour and a half. For 2 (three cocktails, 1 glass of wine, 5 small plates, $103.72 + 20% tip, $124.46. I would recommend that everyone try this at least once (though I'm unsure if it is accessible for those with mobility issues. A lot of stairs in an old building. Finally, I commend the owners for all that they are doing at the Deland House. Lots of innovative project and a fascinating place for weddings and banquets. Though I do miss the ol' Mr. Dominic's.

The Cottage Hotel - Mendon, NY…read more The Cottage Hotel isn't just a bar & grill--it's a Mendon institution. This is hands down my favorite place to go when I want great food, cold drinks, and a room full of people actually having a good time. Thanksgiving Eve at The Cottage is next-level. The place has that perfect buzz--packed but comfortable, energetic without being chaotic--and when the band SQUID takes the stage, it turns into one of the best nights out of the year. They know exactly how to read the room and keep it moving, whether you're there to dance, sing along, or just enjoy the music with a drink in hand. The bar staff is fast, friendly, and clearly knows their regulars. Drinks are poured right, the food hits the spot every time, and there's zero pretension--just a warm, welcoming vibe that keeps people coming back. You'll see longtime locals, groups of friends, and people who came in "just for one" and somehow stayed all night. If you're looking for a place that feels authentic, fun, and reliably awesome--especially on Thanksgiving Eve--The Cottage Hotel is the place to be. Mendon doesn't get better than this.

I went with a build you own burger (bonus, Grass fed beef too!), my husband got a beef on weck. The sandwich was good but the meat was thick cut and as a result, was a bit hard to bite through. (I could see my husband struggle). My in-laws got a burger and a fish fry and they enjoyed their meals as well. The main negative was how loud it was in here. There was a table of 4 older ladies that were so rowdy, we could hardly hear each other, let alone the waitress. Needless to say, once their food came, they quieted down a bit. We highly recommend.
