Stopped by for the first time after a visit to the mall for dinner with our family. It's got a classic sports bar vibe and menu with lots of variety. Good wine and beer list as well. Service was relatively quick for a Friday night too which was a plus. For my dinner I chose the cheesesteak sandwich with a Cesar salad. I went to Champps in Victor, NY on Valentines night and was surprisingly a pleasant experience. We had reservations at P.F. Changs, so we dropped by Champps for some drinks while we waited. The staff was very accommodating on a busy night. We sat at the bar, had some drinks, watched the dunk contest on TV and had a few laughs. What else can you ask for. Overall great experience. Chammpps for the Valentine's Day win! We stopped in here to grab a drink while waiting for our disastrous dinner plans at another restaurant. The bar was busy but we found two spots to hang out. They had a lot of high tables but we sat at the bar. Even though they were slammed both bartenders were attentive and friendly. We ordered two drinks and fries. Everything about it screams chain, but that seems to be what Victor wants, because it's been here for years. Food is alright, exactly what you expect and nothing more, and has that nifty upcharge restaurants in malls usually do. Like you're in an amusement park. They also don't have a real bartender. I mean they couldn't make any of the drinks I actually wanted. And no I'm not ordering anything exotic, one of my requests was a negroni. Nope, gotta order one of their house cocktails, which are generic and tiny. But they'll charge you like you're drinking at Nosh. My friends and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday evening. It is a standard sports bar/restaurant with lots of tvs all around. The restaurant is pretty large, and we were seated upon arrival. Food: I ordered the following items: Fried Green Beans - These were good, but they felt a little too oily and I wasn't too fond on the sauce. Mozzarella Sticks - These were standard and delicious! Can never go wrong with fried cheese. Impossible BBQ Burger - The burger was good. Their fries were not bad. I would order this again. I'm updating this to just change it to a 4. This is actually one of my favorite restaurants, and we come every year for my birthday, and a few other times. I love deviled eggs, and they're awesome! That's the main reason it's my favorite. Happy Hour used to be great, but that's gone. I got a few drinks last night. They're like $9 to $14. I got cocktails, not beer. There's probably better deals on beer. My husband gets a kale caesar salad here that he absolutely loves! I got the loaded grilled cheese. I get the meat on the side because I'm a vegetarian. And they have waffle fries, which are yummy! They even gave me a free sundae for my birthday, which I don't think I ever got before! It was very quiet here on a Friday night. We used to have to park off to the side, and there were plenty of spots right in front of the restaurants. I'm not sure why, but we're planning to go back soon. read more

Finally, a resturant that truly makes you feel like a champion. When I was younger I made my village's little league all star team, but unfortunately we were not very good. We went to one tournament and lost most of our games, a tragedy that has weighed heavily on me all throughout life, like an anchor pulling me down into the ocean (I am not a strong swimmer). The place was big inside, they had a lot of open tables for a Saturday which made me nervous. In my eyes that's not a good sign. We ordered drinks, and the drinks were definitely weak. I think they just put a splash of liquor. We started with their classic sampler platter, the mozzarella sticks, boneless wings and potato skins were good but nothing special. The pretzel bites were stale in hard. For our entrées we ordered the bourbon wagyu burger. It was not seasoned at all. They forgot the caramelized onions. It was terrible. I got the beer, battered fish instead of fries I got coleslaw not realizing it already comes with coleslaw. That was my fault but I do think the waitress should of said it already comes with coleslaw and just double checking I want a double side. But I take responsibility for that. I thought I was getting a whole fish fry like literally almost every restaurant does sin Rochester unless the menu say Fish sticks.. nope I got 2 large fish logs. I've never seen that before. I was disappointed with the service the first time I visited but I decided to give it a second chance. This restaurant has a bar setting and it could get loud. The waiter was friendly and checked on me a few times. I ordered the avocado, tuna salad and I was surprised as how good it was, it was an explosion of flavors and the mango added contrasted very well with the tuna. I also ordered the potato soup and that was pretty amazing, the cheese and bacon on top have it a great flavor. I had the Berry butter cake for dessert and i'm glad I did, one of the best desserts I ever had. First off, the service was absolutely great. Autumn was amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better server. The food was really good as well, but the only reason I'm giving five stars was because the food was good and the service was better. But the prices are a bit high for what this place is. That would be the only complaint. Our bill was $103 for appetizer, two meals and one dessert to share. That's not including the tip. Updating to reflect my most recent experience: Champps gained a star in my book. We came here last night with our 3 kids in tow. We were seated right away and our waiter came over promptly to take our drink orders. The kids all ordered off the kids menu and the staff made an exception to accommodate my son's request to have just a plate of bacon and fries with no complains (it was a nice big plate of bacon too!) I got the chicken sliders with coleslaw on the side and subbed onion rings for fries. My boyfriend got the shrimp tacos and waffle fries with a side of volcano sauce he said was the spiciest he's had in a while. The food was much much better than the last time I had come here. My sliders were excellent (I only wished they had a bit more sriracha aioli on them) and the staff accommodated my request for extra red onion by giving me a little container full I could add as I saw fit. My boyfriend said his shrimp tacos were also great, and the waffle fries nice and crispy. I also felt my onion rings were some of the best I had. The pace of the meal was quick- our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Overall we had a solid experience and will be returning as long as the food remains this quality! read more

Service was good and typical of this genre of restaurant. The food was seriously lacking. Not sure where they source their meat, but the chicken wings were some of the worst I've had. Not only were they small, they were not properly prepared and had part of the wing bone still attached to the drum. Which meant every time you took a bite, you got jabbed by the sharp end of the broken bone. I would understand if it was only a couple in the batch, but all of the drums in our 3 dozen order were the same. If you start with crappy ingredients, you will have crappy food. The potato skins were also seriously lacking. In general, I just don't think they take much pride in the quality of their food. It showed by the lack of patrons on this game packed day. We have been coming to this restaurant for years. We tried today and I have to say this restaurant has gone downhill. Starting with the inside it was dirty and the carpets are almost worn to the cement. Our poor waitress had about 10 large tables. It took her at least 20 minutes just to greet us. Orange juice) delicious! They offer a few different MARGARITA's here: blackberry, champps house, PATRÓN MARGARITA (the best) They offer the normal bar appetizers, really liked their mozzarella sticks. Hot cheesy and fresh. I wanted to love this place. It's a beautiful space with tons of new large screen TVs and huge bar. Very upscale feel to it not in a fancy way but everything is made of wood and looks sleek. They def take care of this establishment. However, my first impressions were tarnished almost as quickly as you read that sentence. Let me paint you a picture. I'm the first to walk in my party of three and naturally I step up to the hostess expecting a smile and hello as per decorum and to be asked "how many?" and then followed by "follow me" according to my response. What actually happened was this woman just stood there, looking at me for few awkward seconds until I spoke up and sheepishly told her we'd like a table. She snaps out of her daze and responds, "oh... you don't want to sit at the bar?" She wasn't purposely rude, Just slow and disinterested. I had a feeling this place was gonna go down hill from there. August is my bday month and if you've signed up for their email, they give you a coupon for a free mile high ice cream dessert. That's honestly the only reason I went and I shared that with someone and our third party member got an app and a beer. So between three people, we only really paid for an app and a beer. Okay, so sure I know this would be annoying to the business as they're not making much money from us, but the waitress should know we'll be tipping her based on service and menu prices of everything we receive. If she was judging us based on our "cheap" use of couponing and sharing then she's only hurting herself. Again, no warm greeting from her either, rarely stopped by our table, a "is that all you're gonna get today?" in a snarky tone at one point. She also charged us more for something when there were only two items for her to worry about. This place had like 5 patrons in it and she was handling 3 maybe. We're feeling uneasy the whole time because we can tell she hates us and wants us to leave. When she comes to look at the receipt and the mistake, she says "oh really?" and studies it for 5 seconds and says "let me fix that." Again, no simple gestures like a sorry that should be 101 in the service industry. But at this point with her attitude during our whole visit, I wasn't so sure her mistake was an accident. 1/5 service. Finally moving on to the food. The mile high ice cream is B-A-N-A-N-A-S. I think was it was tallest ice cream dessert I've ever had! And it was freeeee?!That's amazing. Hard to go wrong with a towering ice cream with delicious fresh and light whip cream, oreo crust, and a pool of warm fudge. 5/5 even if I didn't have a coupon for it. After our wine tasting, we decided to stop at Champs for a quick lunch. Apparently it's a chain sport restaurant? There were dozens of big screen tv mounted with every football game imagined being shown. This place was packed and yet we were able to get a seat immediately for the 5 of us. I wasn't particularly hungry so my girlfriend and I split a chipotle burger with sweet potato fries. The three guys each got stuffed burger, another chipotle burger and the Kobe beef sliders. The food came out surprisingly fast and the service was on point. The fries were perfectly seasoned and stayed crunchy throughout. I didn't try the burger since I was stuffed from breakfast but judging that my friends devoured theirs in one sitting, they must had been good. They were also giving away raffle tickets to every person who ordered an alcoholic drink. My group of friends didn't win anything but it was fun watching those who did. Nice ambiance and overall satisfying dining experience. Will definitely return to try their burgers when I'm less stuffed. read more

Even though they don't do reservations for larger parties, they have been pretty good about having a table ready on their "call-ahead" seating request. We usually gather at the bar after checking-in and there is no more than a 10 minute wait for one of their spacious family tables of 8-12 seats. The menu is typical sports bar, with burgers being the highlight. Quality is maybe a step above a Fridays and service is usually friendly and efficient. Champs has been reliable over the years as a gathering place after Black Friday shopping or for birthday celebrations. We returned for a pre-Mothers' Day dinner with the family. The server, Tanner, was efficient and personable, and with some helpers handled our party of 10+ well. I've upped Champps to 5 stars based on the good service and the quality of each dish, from kid's pizza to tacos to salmon, all being well-prepared compared with similar sports' bars. read more

I used to frequent Champps when I lived in Michigan. Finally happened to be out near the mall in Victor and stopped in for lunch. I was disappointed to see that they took the club sandwich off the menu, it was my favorite thing. When I asked the waitress why they got rid of it, she said she wasn't sure but since they had everything she would ask them to make it. And they did! The food came out quickly and hot. The sandwich was huge and I barely ate half. It was delicious though. Service was great. I sat in the bar area and the waitress/ bartender was quick and friendly, even when it started to get busy and she was solo, she was on top of it! We had some time to kill while waiting for a phone to be fixed, so we stopped in at Champs in Eastview. Katie the bartender was very friendly and attentive. We asked for an appetizer suggestion (between 2 or 3 we were thinking of). She suggested the meatballs with Korean BBQ sauce. I have to say they were really good! The app is 4 good sized meatballs with 2 slices of toasted garlic bread. The BBQ sauce had a nice smokey and spicy flavor! We also tried the "beer" of the month, which is actually Angry Orchard Rose (Cider). Not bad! It's refreshing - good summer drink. During my last visit to Rochester, NY I found myself in need of a jacket since it was still quite cold in Rochester. After stopping at mall, I decided I should also grab a quick lunch. Years ago I had eaten at Champps with some of my employees and I thought I remembered it being pretty decent. The waitress was busy with several tables and did her best to take care of everything. I was surprised to see Shishito Peppers on the menu, so I gave them a try. Nothing was particularly wrong with their preparation but they were mostly bland. The salad was wilted and the tomatoes were past their prime. The chicken was quite dry, so all in all this was a miss. Had some coupons that were about to expire so we decided to go to champs! It was perfect and delicious might I add! The hostesses were exteamly friendly and inviting. We were a party of 4 and were seated immediately. The first thing I noticed was the restaurant had levels. The floor that had the bar, then up a ramp to a large seating area and then finally up a few steps to the top seating area that was slightly smaller than the middle. Very spacious and cozy for being in a sports bar on a busy Sunday evening. Seconds after being sat our waitress came over to greet us. Very friendly with a huge smile on her face the entire time. This may sound crazy but the first thing I noticed about the pretzels was that the salt actually stayed on and didnt roll off. I always hate when that happens and you just get a dry bland pretzal. These were amazing. Perfectly round pretzel bites with cheese sauce. The main courses arrived shortly after and they were perfectly cooked and we were all very pleased with our meals. I ordered a half rack of ribs with french frys. The BBQ sauce that the ribs were prepared in was delicious. They also smothered BBQ sauce on top of the ribs after being cooked. Not to much sauce but enough to get a little in every bite. The BBQ sauce had a smokey rich flavor to it. It was absolutely delicious. The meat just fell right off the bone. The burgers looked amazing as well. Good size burger cooked perfectly with your choice of cheese and toppings. The french dip was nice tender meat with a nice size portion of aju on the side as well as horse raddish. The only down fall I would have to say is it is a little pricey for a being a sports bar/ restaurant, but its well worth it in my opinion. The fries as well could have been crisper they were kinda soggy but the flavor was good! I brought my two kids here after visiting Santa because it used to have "kids eat free" on Tuesday. The waitress told me they were no longer doing that- which was fine. My experience here was mediocre food at a reasonable price with generous portions. My burger was more on the bland side, nothing special. French fries were average. Also had the fish and chips. The breading was way too thick, would not recommend that dish. Coconut shrimp were very large and you get quite a few, however they seemed to be a bit overdone. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. "Eh, fine let's give it a go and see if they've improved." And I really wish there was something more to this. It's a prime location right in Eastview Mall in the food district. I feel like they're trying too hard to sell an upscale food menu in a tacky sports bar environment that isn't supposed to be a sports bar. Yes, I know it's supposed to be a sports bar, but it doesn't feel like one when you go in. The food is described on the menu much better than it actually tastes. Most of the food is way too salted and you don't really taste the goodness of the ingredients. The sandwiches and wraps are basically what you'll find at a family restaurant or a diner. The appetizers are pretty small. You're essentially getting Applebee's (or insert generic chain American restaurant) quality but for a few dollars more per plate. The atmosphere feels like an identity crisis. If they got rid of the stupid televisions, the remaining trim, decor, and furniture would actually look like a decent restaurant. The excessive number of TV's take away from the classy feel that this place could potentially emanate. Service is hit or miss. It usually trends on the slower and less attentive side. Not sure why this is the case. Perhaps a management problem? TL;DR version: typical chain restaurant quality but pricier, better options elsewhere. read more
