I've been wanting to order food from The Basin Pub for awhile now. They are located close by and i've been looking to fast food alternatives and take-out options. I ordered a club sandwich with fries and the shabang shabang shrimp appetizer to go. Everything was hot a ready to pick-up at the stated time. The club sandwich was tasty with nicely toasted bread and generous portions. I'll definitely be returning to The Basin Pub. Seems like a low-key place to grab a beer and a decent bite to eat.

The best fish tacos in town! Ask for corn tortillas if you are gluten-free. Always great friendly service. Easy onsite parking.

From the outside, the basin pub looks like a hole in the wall. I have avoided it, since that was my Impression and others quoted "it was fine." I walked in on a Monday and was Pleasantly surprised. It looked nice in there. We were seated at a booth. They have some local beers on tap which is nice. I went with a blue moon (not on tap) but it never disappoints. The spicy chicken sandwich was ok. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of Texas style spicy rub. It was not spicy at all. Just buttermilk breading that's soaked up a ton of grease. The chicken under it was decent. And the fries were good. I wouldn't turn anyone away from going here, but I'm not sure if it would be my first choice of dinner spots either.

Fish fry lovers, pay attention. This is one of the few places that takes their fish fry seriously as I do. Panko crusted fry is delicious accompanied by house made fries and chow slaw. Well done. Service is outstanding. Dee is one of the amazing staff they have who takes care of her guests.

We got here a couple minutes before they officially opened but it server graciously seated us. He was very friendly and professional. We went with two of their specials of the day. We started if with appetizers. A bowl of New England Clam Chowder that was chick full of clans plus potatoes. Nice seasoning. Hot, soft, salted pretzels with beer cheese dip. Three Heads IPA was the beer base. Blackened Grilled Chicken with Swiss & Avocado, a soft dressing in the side. Dan had coleslaw for the side. I had the Brisket Grilled Cheese and Mac salad for my dude. Very good all around. It's a nice, comfortable place to enjoy a comfort food meal. We'll be back.

I've been here a couple of times and overall the food is not bad; a step up for bar food. This place seems to buzz with activity and noise during happy hour. I get to practice reading lips when I'm here. My friend always orders and raves about the crab and lobster cake sandwich, which looks good and hearty. I've tried the salmon salad and the roasted beet salad with salmon, chicken, and portobello mushrooms. Both times, the salmon was cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. The roasted beets were tasty and complimented the salmon, not so much the grilled chicken and portobello. Overall, the food here is better than typical bar foods.

The KING - the most amazing roast beef sandwich!

Ok, this place serves an awesome roast beef sandwich... and I mean awesome! First, they roast their own meats (roast beef, turkey, and corned beef), and it's apparent b/c the meats taste very fresh... and, moreover, their meats are tender and moist, which tells me that The Basin Pub has certainly figure out how to roast their meats to perfection! Also, their meats seem to be seasoned perfectly... in fact, the roast beef was utterly mouthwatering! The sandwiches come in queen (5 oz.) and king (10 oz.) sizes... and, of course, I ordered the king, which was huge and just right for my appetite! (I had just been to a fitness training, so I needed lots of calories!) They also offers a wide variety of toppings and dressings for their sandwiches, so I was able to build mine to my liking (on this visit, I got Kimmelwek bread, cheddar cheese, and a host of fresh veggies). As for sides, the Pub serves their sandwiches with Kettle Chips, but I asked for sweet potatoes fries instead, and they gladly substituted for me. This place is your typical pub-- lots of wood everywhere, and plenty of beer choices... but I enjoy pubs, so this was a plus for me. Also, the wait staff was friendly and more than accommodating! I definitely recommend this place-- especially if you're looking for an amazing sandwich. They also have some interesting menu items that I wasn't able to try but sounded yummy (e.g., Lobster Mac & Cheese). So, if you're not in the mood for a sandwich, I imagine they have something you'll enjoy.

I love their fish fry. I've had it 2 weeks in a row and I'm hooked. They are very generous with the tarter sauce too.

I've had their fish and chips in the past, which were meh compared to what I've experienced elsewhere, but that is where I will finish complaining and start complimenting for example the tacos here. They are amazing, as is the poutine, the onion rings, and the Smash burger--I got the Angry Sterling, which is a flavour explosion with delicious toppings. And the drink, the Toronto cocktail, was amazing--a strong enough flavour of whisky with just enough of the liqueurs to make it not sting going down. Oh, and I haven't spoken about the live music yet. There was a guy playing guitar who was taking requests, and--and I'm saying this as a person who isn't too big a fan of acoustic guitar music--was pretty good. His passion alone made me start to bop my head and tap my foot to the music. Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the nice trails, beach, and a historic house in a neighbourhood that reminds me of the bridal path.
