I can't say enough good about this place!! Since starting to come here a couple years ago, I have been back many, many times. Their food is excellent, their beer selection is always top notch and their prices are very fair. I have had many differt things to eat here and they are all amung the best I have ever had. Their burgers, garbage plates, and fish frys are SOOO GOOD! It can be a real struggle choosing what to get. They also have a pool table and play great music. My favorite go-to spot.

Love this place but you guys TOTALLY missed it today! Ordered a medium burger for take out, got home took a bite and found it totally undercooked! Definitely not safe, definitely disappointed.

This is a very classic little dive bar. It's got all you need- awesome food, sports on every wall and a chipper person to chat with on both sides. I ordered the best Bleu Cheese burger I've ever had and ate every last bite of it. Definitely worth checking out!

Great spot for food, drink specials and the neighborhood feel. The queso was creamy slightly spicy and the chips were slightly seasoned. Friday fish fry is thick, tender, juicy and not overly battered. It's large and comes with two sides, the sandwich is topped with slaw and comes with one side. The garlic parmesan fries didn't have as much flavor as you might hope for. The clam chowder is not very thick but there is a good amount of bacon, potato and clam in it.

Feelin' Saucy Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries

Tryon City Tavern is the definition of a local hole in the wall bar with great food. Their beer selection on tap is small, but there are usually several craft beers on tap in addition to a macrobrew or two. It definitely gets loud in the bar when there is a crowd. I had the pub pretzels with beer cheese as an appetizer. It was among the best pretzel cheeses I've ever had. Their pizza logs are also a solid option, but they aren't exceptionally noteworthy. For the main course I recommend one of their signature burgers, a chicken sandwich, or a fish fry (Friday special). The crispy "Feelin' Saucy Chicken Sandwich" was shockingly large. It looked like a full chicken breast that was lightly battered and fried. The chicken was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside, with a coating of medium buffalo sauce that had more kick to it than I was anticipating. For sides, both the sweet potato fries and garlic parmesan fries are worth the upcharge.

Your average dive-bar in a plaza. Food is okay, and service is fine. Not a bad spot, but not a great spot.

Wife like the Chopped Salad (a half salad is enough to share). The atmosphere is sports bar, which is cool but it doesn't interfere with any conversations going on at your table. Our service has always been very good; our waitress let's us know where the kitchen stands with our order and was very quick with our drink order, they are always very friendly and quick to help. By the way we've been to Bar-Bill (East Aurora) which is always busy, so expect a wait, and Bar-Bill North (Williamsville, NY). Both are excellent.

Timing was perfect as we arrived at 730pm as the happy crowd was departing following a big Bills wins (we are Jets fans). Also, should be noted, we are avid MacGregors fans. That the "Hatfield's" to the Bar-Bill's "McCoy's" in the wing story here. Atmosphere was fun, bright, festive and really great to be a part of. Huge space. Terrific feel. Love the decor, the floors, the volume level, and even the plates, napkins and ketchup bottle on the table. Our service was good and even great at times. Maybe because it was after 730 on a Sunday and they were winding down after a busy day - but I feel like we got lost a bit from time to time - but when our server was around, she was a 10 out of 10. Excellent. We ordered their famous wings and two beef on Wecks. The sandwiches lived up to the hype. Can't wait to have them again. The wings were really good. Loved their sauces (we got hot, honey Dijon, and Cajun-butter-BBQ) with extra blue cheese. By the time we got our wings they were lukewarm and dry. They were definitely cooked long prior and then sat in the window for a time. Taste was delicious. No carrot or celery with the wings was a bummer. As were the 2oz soufflé cups of blue cheese. And they don't miss a chance to charge a dollar for each additional. I have no problem with the upcharge. Stuff ain't free. But a dollar for 2oz cup? That's fairly reasonable for 4oz. 2oz is greedy. Atmosphere - terrific. Service - good. Beef on weck - excellent Wings and blue cheese - good. I'll be back. But check out my MacGregors reviews if you want the best in Rochester.

Inside, it's a big space, and it got busy fast even when we arrived around 5 p.m. on a Thursday. Turns out it was Trivia Night, which we hadn't planned on, but a nice surprise. If you've got friends who don't drink beer, there are other options. Just don't expect much from the margarita it tasted like it was from a can and was a pretty small pour. I tried a strawberry sour beer (can't remember the exact name), and it was excellent. One friend had the kombucha, and another went for the margarita. We also ordered wings and two pizzas to share. A heads-up on the wings: they're not pre-sauced--they come with sauce on the side. I'd recommend asking for extra, along with a side of what I think was house-made blue cheese. We tried the Cajun Hot Honey and DoughBoys sauces--the latter had a kind of honey mustard vibe. I believe they brine the wings, smoke them, and coat them in rice flour. They came out hot, super crispy. Be aware before you chomp down. We shared two pizzas: the Spicy Sausage and the Truff Daddy, which had cheese, truffle oil, mushrooms, and more. Both were solid picks, and between the three of us, we only had two slices left by the end. Ordering is easy--you can scan a QR code or just walk up to the counter. The staff was lovely and super helpful. Trivia Night was a blast. We only stayed for two rounds and even managed to win a couple of free beer tokens. That was cool! You can make reservations online, but we just walked in and found a table with no issue. Parking is available on the street or in a lot behind the buildings. All in all, I'll definitely be back.

We thought we'd give Blvd Grill a shot. I would categorize Blvd Grill as a sports bar, as there was a row of TVs above and around the bar showing the games of local interest (Jets and Bills games). My wife and I aren't big sports fans, and we sat at a small casual table along the wall for dinner. The bar area, including high top tables was very busy with people obviously enjoying themselves, but there were plenty of available small dining tables for 2-6 people. TL;DR We were pleasantly surprised. In spite of the casual appearance, the food and drink were excellent. My wife ordered a glass of Riesling, which was semi-dry (I would actually peg right in the middle between dry and sweet) and was very smooth without that slight bite some Rieslings can have. I ordered a Blue Moon on tap. They had a small number of basic and IPA brews available. Not a large, but a reasonable selection. For dinner my wife ordered the Chicken French, which is one of her favorite dishes. She cooks this dish herself frequently, and is quite critical of how this dish is prepared when we go out. In this case, she was very pleased with it. I ordered a pesto cod dish that was on the menu. I found the cod tender and the dish overall very tasty without being overdone in flavor or cooking. As others have mentioned, the food isn't cheap, although on this particular night they were selling wings at $1/ea, but we didn't order wings. The main courses were in the $20-$30 range. Honestly, though, we've eaten at some higher end restaurants recently and Blvd Grill had them beat in terms of food quality in this case. The service was good. Our waitress was a young lady who was courteous and efficient. Maybe the food and service quality vary depending on the day or night, but based on our single experience, we'd definitely visit Blvd Grill again.
