I stopped here on my way home to pick up a fish fry to go. It was about 4PM and the local folks were starting to roll in. The bar has a hometown feel with some history in the decor. Really need to change hours on Liberty Pub. Says open on site at 11:00 AM. Sitting in car and it's now 11:48 and not opened!

The only reason I am rating 2 stars is because once a month we travel two and a half hours to visit my sister who lives in Bath... and we love the food... However the problem I have is standing outside until almost 1:00 when they are supposed to be open at noon . Even worse, they see us standing outside and totally ignore us . The food is great , but the fact that they will let patrons stand outside waiting for them to open well past their published time is it worth it. They should change their opening time to cater for people who like to come for an early lunch especially for people like us that travel 2 hours. Last weekend after standing outside for 45 minutes we went to the country club and experienced really good food and great service. As much as we love the food at liberty.. we will never go back. read more

I ordered the fried scallops which were advertised as large and juicy. They were very good. It came with a side salad. Little heavy on the croutons, but you can pick them off. I just forgot to say light croutons. Also came with a side so there's choices and no up charge for sweet potato fries, which, usually up charge so that was nice. Also, the beer selection was adequate. We had at least three IPAs to choose from. My partner Ordered the Apple walnut chicken salad and it was very large with moist chicken pieces. Our waitress was very busy, but she came over without too much delay and took good care of us. We did have table for three with booth on one side and chairs on the other two sides. There were lots of cars parked out front, which is why we picked it being travelers and it was a good choice. read more

We came in for dinner and sat immediately. It was busy but service was quick and friendly. The food was very good, came out quickly, and was priced reasonably. It's a bar setting with high top tables and a few booths, we had 2 kids with us but did not feel out of place. We had a Reuben, red osier sandwich, and roast beef sandwich. For more than a decade I've been getting LS Pub food from Sean. His bro is a great chef. The steak salad ALWAYS has the most tender pieces of steak. And Deb really likes the Friday fish fry. Flat Iron steak great, comes with side salad. Quesadilla tasty. Can you believe they have Guinness on tap? Wow! We've never been disappointed! Had the Sausage on a heal "all the way" with chips and wife had Caesar salad with chicken, both were delicious and fresh. Server was terrific, took Tim with us to be sure we had everything we wanted. Daily specials are not to be missed--Friday is fish and chips with clam chowder as the soup of the day--all good. Good bar with varied draft choices--not al light beers or IPAs--yeah. So I came for the wings and ended up getting talked into a burger and wings. wow, what a surprise! The wings are probably close to the best wings I've ever had in my entire life ... delicious, sweet, and have a little spice , great flavor. I'm normally the guy that asks for a little extra ranch or blue cheese, these wings didn't need either. They have specials for different nights, tonight is the steak night so I'm hoping to eat the wings slow one every hour so I can stick around for the steak. One of regular places we go while down in Bath NY camping at Hickory Hill Campground. The menu has a solid variety for most bar food menus and the drinks are tall and tasty. Friday's are some of the best fish fry and Saturday's they offer a slice a prime rib that Jason from Friday the 13th would be proud of. While there make sure you give a special hi to Shaun the barkeep and tell him Skeeter sent you. Crowds can be tough on Fridays and Saturdays but as they say good food attracts lots of people. We frequent t the joint most weekends during the camping season and will continue this trend in 2018! read more

This past time it was Friday so I went with their Fish Fry. Overall it was a good dish. It was a big piece of fish and the batter was crispy and good. Was in town last week with a small group, went in for wings and a beer. Price of the wings on the menu was $10 for 10 wings. Ordered 20 wings total. When the bill arrived, I was charged $14 for both sets of 10 wings. When I asked the waitress why .. she told me "that was the market price of wings, and their cost was skyrocketing." I asked her why the menu said $10 and she replied that" the menus hadn't been changed yet". I asked her why she didn't mention the price change when the wings were ordered, and she just gave me a blank stare. A nice place to visit, and the wings were fine .. but the billing / price gouging left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

Been here many time and always good food and good service. Well that might have been in the past as we haven't been here in a few months. Tonight we decided to go in for Veterans day dinner and I have to say not what I expected. Waitress was very cold and non attentive. The food was very poor. Steak salad here used to be a nice medium steak cut up over the salad tonight it was pieces of steak (more like beef jerky) cut up in the salad. Sprite was flat and when sent back came back about the same. Beer pretzel appetizer used to be 4 or 5 pretzels with a good cheese now its 3 pretzels with some sort of cheese mix. I don't mind prices going up for good quality food and drink but don't feel spending $80 for poor quality and service is worth my business anymore. read more

Bath seems to have an issue with recognizing that it is the gateway to Hammondsport and the Keuka Lake wineries. One would think that entrepreneurs would capitalize on the tens of thousands of tourists that pass through each month, but... The Pub is undoubtedly the best eatery in town. It is the only place that offers anything besides pizza, greasy spoon, chain FF, or 'all you can gorge' Chinese. Burgers are big and flame broiled. Great sandwiches, the fish is excellent--and a good selection of tasty appetizers. The shrimp poppers are a meal in themselves! The environment is kind of dark and indeed "pub like." They offer a full bar, and a nice selection of domestic and import beers on tap--along with a few regional microbrews. It is a favorite of the villagers--and has a friendly, attentive waitstaff. The only trouble with this place is that it is good--but does not have a lot of tables. The wait time can be upwards of 20 minutes on a weekend. They do offer take out--but once you get a table, one is in for some great pub fare! read more

So we stepped outside in pouring rain and waited, we saw another family go in after us.... and they took our table. My father went inside to figure out what's happening. The food was mediocre at best and the service was terrible. It's a small place without many tables, so getting drink refills shouldn't be an issue. We had to wait at least 10 minutes to get a drink refill each time our cups were empty. When we were ready for the check, we had to wait another 20 minutes after we asked for it. I think we could have left and no one would have known for at least half an hour. If there aren't any open tables, don't assume you'll get one when one opens up. It seems to be, first to claim the table is the next group to get it. There was a family that came in, ordered drinks at the bar and waited for a table. Another group came in and took a table that had just opened before it was cleaned. None of the employees said anything to the group and the family continued to wait. Don't be fooled by the 1 good review, it's not that good. Maybe it's good for locals. read more

Service was terrible. The server was very rude to us when we walked in the door. He insulted us, and when we asked him for his name he used a fake one. We left before ordering food, and then after finding nowhere else in the town to eat, we returned as a last resort. The food was actually pretty good. As for the server, he admitted to being the "owner" and he did apologize after we called him out for being rude. Overall, I would not visit this place again. read more

Liberty Street Pub was recommended so I gave it a shot. I sat at the bar and had a draft Southern Tier IPA while waiting for a bacon-cheese burger and fries. The 1/2 pound hand-formed burger was ordered medium rare. It arrived in an appropriate amount of time and was cooked to perfection. It really was medium rare, hot and well seasoned. Simply stated, a great burger! The fries were plentiful and not salted. The restaurant was busy but not overly noisy. Give this place a try! I'll be back. read more

New in town and heard an ad for the pub, decided to check it out. Walked in and we were looked at like we did not belong. Saw an open table, no signs about seating so we went to the table. The bartender came over and rudely told us he had people waiting for the table. OK, fine. Told him we had never been there before, he did not offer any information just wrote down "2", said 25 minutes and walked away. Could not get up to the bar to get a drink while we waited and no bartender offered to get us anything even though it was obvious we were trying to get something. Felt very unwelcome in a place that I thought would be different from the typical bar. I guess this establishment is not interested in earning new business, they just cater to their local regulars.
