This lovely little pub on little Loon Lake was such a nice surprise, was so enjoyable sitting outside on a beautiful Friday afternoon. The food was very good, we had Beef on Weck, excellent, I ate the whole thing which I rarely do. The place is called Laf a Lot and people were actually laughing a lot out there on patio. Hadn't been here in decades and during covid it was closed alot. But we swung by today, saw they were open and went in for lunch. The waitress/bartender was welcoming and took great care of us. We had their pizza/wing special and beer. Under $30 for everything and pretty good. Right on Loon lake so the view was super. We will be back because everyone there said the prime rib is fantastic. read more

Don't expect high end dining. If that's what you want then this isn't your place. But if you want a place with a great view and reasonably priced bar food. Then this is your place. We love to go for some wings (my personal favorite is the chicken tenders basket) and drinks. And that's exactly what you get. The service is good. Not lightning speed. But usually it's just one or two people working so we don't mind waiting a little bit, we come to relax and sit by the water. And enjoy the ambiance mostly anyway. read more

Laf-A-Lot is a great little out of the way bar and restaurant. It's a little difficult to find, but sits right on the water. There is a small bar area inside, a few tables, a pool table. We chose to sit out on the deck. They have plenty of seating, a variety of chairs and umbrellas, and some adirondack chairs on the dock. You can see the fish swimming! I fed them some of my leftover wrap :) Food is good! Service is good! Very casual place to enjoy some drinks and sunshine! read more

Went here for a nice family outing...place was infested with flys..Only 2 parties in the place...Slow service and horrible food. Too bad this could be a quaint, pleasant, sophisticated getaway..Appears to have been recently renovated...would give it a zero if possible. read more

Have only been there twice so far and it was very good. Skyler (hope that's right) was terrific and very attentive and helpful when one of my wifes drinks tasted a bit off - there was no argument, just a fresh drink without hesitation. Skyler was the only barmaid on and she didn't faulter at all, ensuring that everyone at the bar had drinks and always checked on food and so forth. She made us feel very welcome and not like a couple of blow ins. We will be making it apopint to go back at least each Sunday and possibly more when their summer hours begin. read more

The burger was awful. If a bar style restaurant can't make a good burger I can't imagine anything on the menu is good.

Wasn't very good. The food was alright but the service wasn't up to standard. After we seated ourselves the server took about 15 minutes to take our drink order. It took her 10 minutes jus to get a couple drinks out. Also our food took abou 50 minutes to get, we just got a pizza and pretzel. My drink was empty for about 20 minutes and I politely asked the server if I could get a refill and she was snarky abut it and filled my drink to the brim with ice. The one good thing about eating here was the outside seating and the the lakeside view and the good ambiance of the place. Overall it was ok in a pinch but the service wasn't good and the food isn't anything to brag about, won't be coming here again though. read more

Every time we are in Wayland visiting family we always stop by the Laf-A-Lot. They have excellent bar food and we especially come for the wings. Great small town lake atmosphere and friendly service. There was even a Sea Plane that landed on Loon Lake and docked at the Laf-A-Lot while we were there! read more

This place used to be fun! With all the Covid regulations it has been closed most of the time. When it is open the staff are not friendly. Food when there is any is mediocre. read more

Laf-a-Lot is a little pub/restaurant sitting on the edge of pretty Loon Lake (a 142 acre irregular shaped lake in the Town of Wayland, NY. Laf-a-Lot is also said to have the oldest liquor license in NY State. *Venue: It's a casual and fun little place where you can sit outside and eat by the water, or inside in the shade where there is a bar, tables, and even a pool table. There's even a little dock with a couple chairs to sit in if you choose. The downside to sitting outside is that if you're a non-smoker you may be subject to people smoking at the table next to you which is very unpleasant while you're trying to eat a meal. Also, the outside eating area needs some cleaning up (weeds growing around the edges and just not real clean or tidy in general). *Food: We really liked the food and thought the prices were very reasonable. There is something to please everyone on the menu! The onion rings are crisp and great - everyone was pleased with their meals and beverages. *Service: Not overly friendly or very attentive. However, one person who said she wasn't a server but was circulating around helping was very friendly. The actual servers almost acted like you were putting them out, and we did hear 2 tables next to ours complaining amongst themselves about the service. We had to ask for limes 3 times before actually getting them, quite a long time for our meals, and long wait to get our check. So I'm giving 5 stars for a fun, neat and unique little historic place with good food and reasonable prices. 2 Stars for the service and the smoking allowed in the outside dining area. Overall we definitely recommend you try Laf-A-Lot! read more

What a cute location for a pub. Had all of the promisings of a perfect evening out with my son and his friends. We happen to come on karaoke night which is always fun with 20somethings as they generally have no fear of getting up there and having a blast. Not with this guy and his scowling wife. As someone with a RBF I get that sometimes I look surly when I'm not but this couple snapped at our table when we just wanted to find a seat to eat...as a patron! He then threw his stuff and when I said "no thanks, we will sit somewhere else" he was ticked off at that. The wait staff was nice but they did get rather busy (happy for them) We felt like we had wandered into a private party as everyone seemed to know each other - not a bad thing but it kind of is when we had to go to the bar to get a refill for just about every beverage. When it was the green light to sign up to sing, the kids (kids to me) were excited to have fun. The eye roll and snarky treatment by the "karaoke couple" was ridiculous - tampered the fun they were having. Throw in an overserved and creepy guy at the bar and it really put a damper on the place. Kind of a shame because it's a great location with potential! read more

Holy crap what a shit hole. I understand that they were busy right before we showed up but come on!!!! When we got there absolutely no one greeted us or seated us, so we seated ourselves outback. We sat there for a good 20 min and no one came out , not to take a drink order or anything . We went into the bar twice to let them know that we were out there. No one came out. Finally the table next to us , who got there after us , we're receiving their drinks and the lady noticed I was out there and asked if anyone has been to my table , I said no and she still left without taking my drink order . Came back 5 min later and we quickly ordered drinks and dinner so we wouldn't have to wait another half hour to at least get a drink . Get this ... while we were waiting all that time , there was a group of adult kids sitting behind us , yelling and being absolutely obnoxious. Swearing and burping and calling out calling skanks and bitch this and bitch that . And annoying everyone, sex talk and just nasty , so loud and unbelievable . Drunk as hell. No other tables were cleared off. And at least one or two of them worked there . Some elderly ladies told them to shut up and one of kids said I don't care . The restaurant then started playing a song loud song that had the lyrics over and over lick my pussy and my crack" and the adult kids repeating it over and over after the song ended . It was ridiculous. Finally some drunk guy Jeff and his drunk wife Karen came and offered the " kids" a ride on the boat. All drunk and no life vests . I'm so glad that my family isn't out on that lake . Unbelievable! Finally when drinks came out, coke was flat as hell , like it was poured from a flat 2 liter . And wrong food . Not what I ordered ordered Cesar salad, got a Cesar wrap , they brought a Cesar wrap and tater tots . . Then down sat a couple that started argue g very loud for all to hear . Ya can't make this shit up . I e been to laugh a lot so many times and it's always been great but today ???? What the hell happened . What we thought was gonna be a nice relaxing dinner watching the lake , turned into a nightmare .... Never again... and we haven't even ate or left here yet ....., yikes read more

Never been there before. I am a chef at a bar in the finger lakes area. was impressed with the service and generous portions and quality food.If you want Snopby people and high prices Don't go. "get over your self". If you want a relaxing drink and dinner or lunch at a local restaurant /bar remember where you are and embrace it! Foood was awesome and portions very generous . Good bar food and prices are very reasonable. Local establishment with friendly people. Recommend stopping in for dinner and drinks if you're staying at the lake or drive thru the area. read more
