Was spending the night in town as my son play lacrosse at Alfred State and my wife and I visited Paddy's. Place was a little busy and we couldn't sit right away so we decided to sit at the bar and order drinks while waiting for a table. We were starving so we figured we would just eat at the bar. The bartender was awesome and friendly and had heavy pours! I'm not a big drinker and if I did not eat, I probably would not have driven after one drink. The food came out fast and hot and my burger was juicy and perfectly cooked! My wife's was also perfect. The bill was a very good price as well considering our meal and booze. We drove over an hour to try them out. I don't know if it was an off night or what, but service was very slow, everything was extremely salty, my beef tips were extremely tough with no flavor other than salty, an older waitress and older bartender spent over 20 minutes gossiping about some Drew and another waitress while beers sat empty, not very welcoming feeling or comfortable listening to ranting, and everything was over priced. There was a young thin bartender girl that was very friendly and actually waited on people, but my cherry lime smash drink from her being off was either her being new with no one to help her or the bar's recipe being pretty bad. The beer selection, ranch, and fries were good. The moose track burger was okay, but bland and salty. We're in no rush to drive over an hour again and waste over an hour sitting and spend around $100 again on such a so so underwhelming experience. First time here. This is a little hidden gem in Hornell. Great beer and drink selection. The food was absolutely fantastic. Our bartender/ waiter was very knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations. The gentleman next to me ate the Greek salad which was huge and he said out of this world. It is an Irish Pub like the name says. The place is really clean and welcoming. We didn't come to drink in the afternoon but if we had they have a large selection. Looks like about 30 beers on tap. (Complete guess, didn't ask). Our waitress was training and was really nervous but did a great job. The restroom is a one person with changing table. So the place is kid friendly. My wife ordered the tuna melt with tots. My wife said it was good but she couldn't finish it. I ordered the Jameson Chicken Melt with fries. I have to say the Jameson sauce was really good. We chose this place based on past YELP reviews. We walked in and were quickly greeted and seated. Everyone was friendly. We started with the onion soup, which was a bit salty for my taste. I have the Jameson chicken sandwich 2with tater tots. Honestly, I couldn't eat it. It was also salty, and the chicken was tough. Not sure why since it was fried. I offered it to my son and he took one bite and pushed the play back to me. The tater tots were good though. My husband and had the sesame chicken salad, which he said was fine and my son had Buffalo wings, which he said were good. Our waitress from friendly and attentive. i didn't say anything about the sandwich to her. I think she figured it out. Since it was mostly left on the plate. Food takes forever. When and if it comes out if they are busy,it's plopped together. Not much hot water so idk how the dishes get sanitized. Had the "Garlic & Parmesan" wings. They were almost flavorless. I have had them here before C19 and they were delicious. This time there was barely any garlic & parmesan, it was almost like eating plain wings. When I told the waitress she was bringing the bill, as she never came back to ask how our food was. She said she was sorry to hear that and walked away. Also, my wife's tator tots were barley warm. The place was maybe 25-33% full, as it was early. I went to Paddy's for the first time today, and not to be dramatic, but the Dublin Gate Burger was quite literally the best burger I have had in my life. The honey bacon was perfectly sweet and peppery, the garlic mayo brought amazing flavor, the veggies were fresh and crunchy, and the burger itself was cooked to perfection. I could go back there 10 times, get nothing but this burger, and sing it's praises to the heavens. It doesn't hurt that their fries are amazing as well. It's been over 12 hours and I have not stopped thinking about this meal. 10/10 would absolutely recommend this place, and the Dublin Gate Burger in particular. I had never been here before so I can't speak for any of the other menu items, but I would marry and make sweet sweet love to this burger any day of the week. read more

We went to Swain on a Wednesday, not realizing that it didn't open until 1, so I Yelped us up a bar, and found this gem! Gorgeous bar, nice seating, very clean and comfortable. Cool little signs of Irish wisdom posted all around the place. Great beer selection. They have 24 taps, just about all of which are craft beer. I had a beer I've never had before (Lake Placid Nippletop Milk Stout), and that is pretty surprising for a guy who has had thousands of different beers. They had selections from Southern Tier, Ithaca, Horsheads, Lake Placid, Dogfish Head, and Great Lakes (Blackout Stout!) among others. The menu is awesome. Lots of pub standards, plus some unique specialties. The wings were outstanding, and they had some very creative sauces. We tried the salt & vinegar, the orange ginger, and the pineapple curry. They were all very good, pineapple curry was the overall winner in my book. Also had the reuben, which was good, not the best I've ever had, but it was solid, with a decent amount of corned beef, on good bread that was well toasted and not soggy. The fries that came with the reuben were very good. Very friendly and welcoming servers and bartenders. Plenty of parking in the area. FYI: Paddy's is actually at 66 Broadway MALL, if you GPS plain old 66 Broadway, you'll end up at the Police Department. Paddy Wagons instead of Paddy's Pub! read more

My new favorite restaurant in Hornell. The food was delicious. I had the Pubs Tuna Melt which has a wonderful dill sauce with dill pickles n French fries, which was a huge serving. I had a cup of Irish Stout Onion soup which was great, similar to a French onion soup. Delicious. Amanda was our waitress who was extremely Attentive to our wants n needs. Very sweet young lass. The food we had here was magnificent. To start we had the artichoke dip. That was great and very hot. The chips you get are huge and very tasty. I'm guessing there made in house. I had the shepherds pie and it's bigger than I expected. It's got these fantastic biscuits on the top that are the best little delights. And the balance of proper flavors were there. There were 2 other dishes ordered that were fantastic as well. The club which is put together perfectly on what I think was soda bread. And then the wings my mother ordered were Parmesan and fresh garlic. They were large and very good. We ordered a couple of hot drinks as well from the bar and they were perfect as well. My husband and I stopped here after returning our Freshman to school after mid-term break. We've been looking to try different places in the area other than the chain restaurant in Hornell. After reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. Given the Road was torn up in front of the restaurant, we were a bit worried that it would be grungy bar with greasy food. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in, it was light and clean inside, some Irish decor on the walls and much more seating than we expected with seating near the bar and additional tables in the lofted dining area. We ordered sandwiches with fries, my tuna melt was huge and delicious, it was a generous portion and I was unable to finish it. My husband had the turkey sandwich which was equally delicious and generous portion. We will definitely return when back in the area, which will be often in the next 4 years. read more
