On a weekend trip to Corning, my cousin and I had some time to kill before dinner. We stopped by Carey's Brew House for a drink. The first thing you notice is that this is a huge brew house. We thought it was closed because there's a sit-down area in the front before you get to the back where the bar is and the bartender was. It's a converted house. We sat by the bar. Since we were a tad bit hungry, we shared some potato skins which hit the spot. Unlike your typical potato skins, these were thick but fried just right so the potatoes were cooked all the way through, the cheese was melted, and the bacon was crisp. Kind of like a deep dish version of potato skins. I always appreciate a solid beer list and as a brew house, Carey's had just that. They even had my favorite beer, Delirium, which I couldn't help but get to go. Service was solid. read more

My daughter took me here for a Mother's Day "high tea". I was very excited and have been to high tea from east to west coast also in Canada, so my expectations were quite high. When we came in the room was very nicely decorated and we were seated immediately. The server was wearing blue jeans and a tea shirt with writing on it which I've never seen at any tea. The tea choices, teapot and brand of tea were all superb!! When they brought out the 3 tiered tray, I was terribly disappointed. I have NEVER seen any mini tea sandwich served on a slider hamburger bun! NEVER! All high tears have freshly baked scones with lemon curd and clotted cream. There was NONE. The baked goods were extremely dry. There was a "biscuit" that must have been missing an ingredient as it was bigger and 2x the thickness of a hockey puck. Extremely dry and inedible. Choking down 1 bite was all I could do. Other items like the fudge came directly from the local grocery store. This was just wrong. read more

I had a Rueben and my wife had a Cubano. The Rueben was on the smallest and thinnest pumpernickel bread (like the small loaf's from pepperage farm) and it included some fries, "skinny fries" that were actually just regular fries. My wife's Cubano was ok not great. My sandwich was $20!!! And my wife's was $15. For what we got it was too expensive. We asked for ketchup and we each got a tiny cup, 1oz, half full. The bar maid was taking care of too much and it was a bit busy being St Pats day. She was kind and nice but overextended. We won't go back. read more

Jalapeño Bangers to start were spicy, creamy and hot. We both had burgers, smashed and cooked perfectly. Our server was attentive and friendly. Quiet and not too busy, but very welcoming atmosphere. Overall a great experience. read more

Service was absolutely awful, food just ok, if you're not into craft beer forget it, very limited selection on anything else! Would not recommend and wouldn't be at all surprised if they're out of business when I travel back to Corning next spring/summer! read more

Stopped by this brewhouse on our family's "goin' upstate" periodic road trip. It's literally and conveniently right next to the Corning Glass Works Museum. What an amazing selection of New York State-brewed suds-the best I have come across. My wife and the lads had burgers with their brews and I had the fish sandwich. All were tasty and fresh. Service was pretty good, beer was good, food was absolutely terrible. My friend had a burger and fries which looked less than appealing and I ordered the Waldorf salad. It was mostly cropped romain lettuce and red onion. There were small bits of tomato, a few bits of celery, a few walnuts, and two small pieces of apple. I paid $12 for a $3 item. The place The front of the restaurant looks like an empty store front. Almost left because we weren't sure what we were getting into. Just ignore the oddness and make your way towards the middle of the building where you will find bar and seating. The building is pretty big they have a nice bar and another room that has a pool table which was nice. They kind of have 3 sections that are in the building that are separate but by walls but not really different rooms. They even have a couple bench type seats by a tv to hang out. The food When I saw the menu I was worried since they had such a variety of food from burgers to a udon noodle dish! Normally that means the food isnt very good boy was I wrong. I decided to go with the Cubano which was Slow roasted pork and pit ham topped with melted Swiss cheese, spicy pickles, whole grain mustard on a grilled French baguette. I was really impressed the sandwich was huge and full of flavor. The spicy pickles with the mustard was a unique flavor. It came with fries which had a good seasoning on them so much so I didn't even use ketchup. The staff The guy who was our waiter was also running the bar so he had his hands full but he was very helpful. I dont know if that is the norm but they need some help. He did a great job runnning around with little help. The verdict I cant wait to come back and try more of the menu after that Cubano I can only guess the rest of the menu is also good. Very Inconsistent! I've tried the fish fry 3 times now. The first time the fish was a greasy beer batter coating. more batter that fish. The mac & cheese was so good I had to give the place another try. Second time the fish was smaller and worse and the mac & cheese was a tiny helping compared to the time before. I waited a feel weeks and gave the fish dinner 1 more try. I am done with this place now! burnt greasy fish, The mac and cheese was mushy I couldn't find a piece of macaroni in it at all. It was more like mashed potatoes with cheese. So, every time I went there was worse the the time before. They have good beer though, but they didn't make that. read more

A hidden gem. I truly believe that the cook here is obsessed with delivering the best tasting food they can prepare. My wife had the Cubano and was completely pleased. I had the Bison sliders and they were cooked to perfection. Wonderful service with great pub food. read more

Kid friendly brew pub with a section for kids to play and draw on chalk boards etc., nice beer selection but would have been more interested to try their own brews had that been a thing. Food was mediocre, not great but not bad. The food reminded me of a family restaurant/diner. Staff was very friendly. It was a quick stop for us after visiting the Coring glass museum. First time visited. I loved it. The food is great, and you don't go away hungry, that's for sure. I will be sure to visit again.

Food was very tasty, Kyle was very helpful! Had burgers, beer, pulled pork, soup, all very tasty!!

We just left and this place is great. Friendly and knowledgeable waiter, reasonably priced and I thought the food was great. I normally don't like restaurant Mac and cheese or coleslaw but I liked these, my fish was baked through without being dry. Only thing I wish is that they had a better selection of hard ciders. We will be back next time we are in Corning. read more

We got a bunch of different food and you can tell it was made with love. I wasn't a huge fan of the beer cheese because it had a stronger beer taste but everything was pretty good as far as bar food goes. The owners are awesome and the building is awesome. Really good drink options too. read more

Always a great experience at careys brewhouse. Their taps are constantly changing which sparks a great variety if you are a regular. The food is home grown in the owners garden and all the meats are fresh. You can't go wrong. They make beer cheese pub pretzels and they are absolutely to die for, my favorite dish of all time. I've been to Carey's several times. Great Family business excellent food and a superb selection of draft beers. The front side on Bridge Street looks empty, but walk back to the bar restaurant area is well worth the trip. Excellent beer list, I think over 50 taps and they offer 2 in house brews of their own. Food was okay, a lot of fried Options. The place itself is very large but has different sections, dining, family dining area (nice if you have kids and don't want the bar atmosphere), bar and then a game area in the back. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We've gone twice and had a good experience. I think the menu could be better but overall it was a good experience. read more

This place would be great if I loved waiting forever for my food. It would be faster for me to go back in the kitchen and make my own food. The food was very good, but I also don't enjoy paying the equivalent of college tuition for a singular quesadilla.
