I was at this location to tour the Corning glass museum and go on some walking trails. It served my purpose well. I will say that the pool had a very sharp broken ladder and the hot tub jets didn't work. Those are the only things keeping it from a 5 star experience. The happy hour snacks were good and so was breakfast. The hotel room was the perfect size with everything we needed in the kitchen. The bed was comfortable. The location was perfect. All of the staff were very nice.

This place is huge - it was like circling through a maze to get to our room. However, my family enjoyed our stay here for the weekend. We enjoyed our 2-bed suite with a kitchen & stove, and although we didn't cook we made use of the fridge for cold drinks and food after shopping at Wegmans (about a 10 minutes drive from here). There's two TVs and the one outside the bedroom is attached to a DVD player - you can borrow dvds from the front desk. Some other awesome highlights: + clean, and staff was very friendly + plenty of space and storage in the suite + plenty of parking spaces + swimming pool (we didn't use but it's there on the first floor) + includes breakfast in the morning (standard chain food) A few reasons for knocking off a star even though we liked the suite: - noisy vent and the heat setting did not work. I turned it up to 75 but it was blowing cold air throughout the night (thank goodness for warmer weather in what still feels like a winter season!) - the bathroom is in the bedroom area so if you're trying to use it without waking up the rest of your group good luck!

    Clothes....a good idea at breakfast

Older venue but it was clean and well appointed. Perfect distance from the glass museum and right in the backyard of a local brewery. The breakfast is standard for the chain fresh and processed items.

We'll stay here again when we come back to Corning. This place is a bit of a maze to navigate and the desk person incorrectly told us we'd be closest to our room if we parked near a certain door. Breakfast choices were a bit on the thin side and if they put sweetened yogurt next to the salsa and shredded cheese, it should be labeled! But those are all very minor issues. The queen room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The shower was fairly powerful. We rarely heard hallway sounds. Check-in and -out was easy. The workers we encountered were friendly. The TV controls were pretty intuitive - and we'd never checked out DVDs from a hotel before, but that was a nice choice. It is an easy walk to the Glass Museum, which is why we picked Staybridge in the first place.

The dining area is spacious and inviting

I actually thought that part of the museum would be Corningware, like my mom used to have. Not at all. When I got instead, was the most amazing and beautiful display of glass work I had ever seen. Religious glasswork, glasswork that goes way back in history as far back is 1500 BC. . Modern glasswork. Glasswork done by artists. industrial glass work The museum covers the whole gamut. I thought the glassmaking demonstrations were fascinating, and even the gift shop is like a mini museum in itself. I never thought I would see all of the amazing things that I saw today. Mind... officially ...Blown... thank you for an amazing visit. .

My husband and I visited the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning last week after hearing great…read morethings about it from people who have visited. It's a large museum (larger than I was expecting) dedicated to the art, history, and science of glass. When you walk in, you enter the level with art galleries. There's some incredible art in these galleries - a few pieces by well known artists, but also just plenty of pieces that showed what artists are capable of when working with glass. As I walked around the galleries, other visitors probably heard me say, "THAT'S glass?!" From there, you move into the historical galleries, which is where they show some of their more than 50,000 glass objects, some over 3,500 years old. I didn't know when in history glass was invented or about the various cultures/people in history that put their stamp on work in glass, and I learned a lot from these galleries (which is organized chronologically and by nation). Then, one floor up, there are a few galleries dedicated to the science of glass: how it's made, how colored glass is made, and more. That's also where some (but not all) of the demonstration areas are. The museum offers demonstrations in different areas of glasswork throughout the day and in different areas of the museum: hot glass demo, glass breaking, flameworking, hot glass demo bubbleheads, and more. We stopped by the Innovation Center for the Flameworking demo, which was very cool to watch. The museum offers even more. In another building behind the museum, they have a building where you can make your own glass with the help of their staff. With several options (that vary in age required, cost, length of time), you can choose a project you want to work on and then come back to pick up your glass or have it shipped to you if you're not staying in the area. We decided to make glass flowers (ages 14+, $38/flower). You put on plenty of protective gear and then make a glass flower quickly with the help of staff. I can't wait to see ours (they shipped them quickly and they're supposed to arrive tomorrow according to tracking). Before we visited, I told a friend of mine we were going to visit the museum in a week or so. He told me I'd need six hours to fully enjoy it. I thought he was nuts, but now I can see why he said that. The Corning Museum of Glass is huge, and you can definitely spend a day here. It's an incredible museum and well worth a visit if you're in the area. Just make sure you give yourself enough time to enjoy it!
