Only picture I took here. Nice shower

Stayed here for one night after visiting the Corning Museum of Glass. My 2 basic requirements for a hotel are a comfortable bed and quiet room. I'm a very light sleeper. The bed was actually very comfortable. But unfortunately our room was not very quiet. The room was on the 2nd floor very close to the main entrance. I actually thought at one point that the window was open because I could hear people clearly talking outside. The room was clean and the bathroom was pretty modern. The front desk employee was super friendly and helpful. Wish i could remember her name. Unfortunately the noise is the thing that brings the rating down. It was an ok place to stay for a night but dont know if I'll be returning. A different room location could have possibly helped, though not sure. 2022-55

Fairfield Inn is not a fancy hotel. Most of the time when I travel, I am out sightseeing during the day. All I need is a clean room and a nice shower. The room is not very big, but it has plenty of outlets for electronics. The hotel was renovated about one and a half years ago so the room is in very good condition. Breakfast is included and it is fairly good. It has a few hot items. Location is convenient. Wendy's, Bob Evans and a buffet place are all walking distance. Corning Museum is a short drive away. The hotel is next to highway 86 and our room faces the back. It is on the noisy side. The staff is friendly and helpful. So there is no deduction for the noise level.

I would stay here again. I stayed a single night in a double queen bed room on the second floor. The establishment was clean and well taken care of. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were consistent with the rest of the building and property. The beds were the best part of the room. So comfortable, soft and clean. The continental breakfast was on par for this hotel. They served scrambled eggs, several meats, cereal, fresh fruit and coffee. When the food was running low some disgruntled guests asked a cook if she was going to resupply the food. With a smile and genuine joy she said she was working on it and apologized for the delay. (There was a mad rush of guests to the breakfast and the food was quickly eaten up so the cook had no way of knowing it would happened). I was a little disappointed in the availability of parking spots. I pulled in at around 11pm and got the last parking spot.

Very mediocre place to stay! The rooms are small. It looks like they tried to update this place, but did a poor job! The staff is strange and unhelpful. The indoor pool was cold and so was the room the pool was in. I asked to make it warmer. He told me they would have Maintenace do it tomorrow morning, the next day same thing. All they can say is I'm sorry. Well that doesn't make my 10 year old that was looking forward to swimming g with her family happy. Pool area is dirty. And the same dirt was there two nights in a row! I would pick the one in Elmira or go to Hampton Inn I stead. I almost forgot the dripping water inside the window pane of the room. I will be writing corporate.

Very disappointed. I slept there one night during Labor Day weekend and the place hygiene was terrible. Dirty elevators, lobby, main entrance. Stay away from this hotel during COVID-19. My bathroom tub will not drain and I called the front desk for maintenance, there was no maintenance person available, no supervisor to assist. The front desk clerk very politely and embarrassed told me she was the only staff in the building.

We really had a fantastic stay here! Check in was a breeze,…read moreand there are plenty of entrances to make getting to your room easy. Room was very clean and organized. We had a full kitchen, big fridge/freezer with ice maker, dishes, microwave, 2 burners with pots to cook, microwave pyrex... tons of space, many lamps. 2 flat screen tvs with a great channel selection. We had a room with a pull out couch as well, though im a weirdo and just slept on tbe couch. Breakfast is free and changes day to day. Usually eggs of some sort, meat, fresh and sliced fruit, cottage cheese, yougurt, fresh waffles, cereal, oatmeal, pastrys (get the oatmeal cake!!) And salsa and cheese. Some weeknights there is a social hour (aka free dinner) with some reallly tasty items (salad usually with something fun like pizza, sliders, quesadillas, hamburgers etc) free wine and beer as well. Coffee and tea available at all times, and a pantry with items you may have forgotten but also awesome treats and beverages! Even wine! There is a laundry and fitness room, really good pool and spa with jets as well as a basket ball court, library and business center room. We really enjoyed the food and we had a room super close to the dining area. The pool was a bit if a walk, however its way faster to cut through the courtyard (bring your key!!) They have fresh cookies at the desk in the afternoons, I don't even like sweets, but the cookies are like crack. Not sure who makes them or if they are just tube dough but keep doing what you are doing. (Try the strawberries from breakfast with the cookies...) This place can easily feel like home with how comfortable it is. So close to corning and the finger lakes, its a no brainer.

They have an upper floor but no elevator! The room was pretty good, nice, and clean, with the exception of an upholstered chair. I sat in it to watch the large flat screen TV. The chair's arms were sticky with who knows what from years of use and no deep cleaning. Ugh! The back of the same chair was also in the same condition as the arms, more ugh! To use it, we took towels from the b/r and covered the offending areas. No one should have to do this... just gross. The king bed was oh so comfortable and smelled good, which helped foe a good night's sleep. Under the TV cabinet was a mini refrigerator with a freezer, no microwave, but they provided a small coffee pot system with reg and decaf. The b/r had a fantastic shower with good water pressure, nearly immediate hot water. A word of caution, the bottom of the tub was a bit slick. In the morning, there was a decent breakfast, carbs, protein, and juices, a good balance. The coffee was hot and a really good brand to start your day. They do accommodate the gluten-free guests with a dedicated waffle maker. .

It originally started out as the Corning Hilton, with its commercial modernist design, and was a success from the time it opened. Later Hilton sold it to the Radisson and in August of 2022 it was purchased by Choice Hotels. We have stayed here many times over the years and since Choice purchased the hotel we have seen improvements in the overall condition of the building; however, much improvement needs to take place. For example, our room air conditioner was noisy and uncomfortably cold/warm all evening. The main hotel AC was very warm considering we had mid-90s degrees temperature during the daytime. Secondly, we felt that the bar, although attended quite nicely, the drinks were half the size that we remember while prices considerably higher. Lastly, another negative would be the overall condition of their outside gardens and plantings. I brought it to their attention because they have beautiful gardens and planting spaces, but they're not well cared for: a lot is overgrown with weeds and dead plants. The staff was kind and accommodating and we would return mostly because of its location to Market Street. Ironically, we have stayed at the hotel across the river (now Hilton) and that has always been a good experience with the exception of having to walk over the bridge to get to Market Street.
