We reserved here because it was not too far from the Finger Lakes Wine Festival at Watkins Glen and breakfast was included. Check-in was easy, and our room was on the first floor. They have an upper floor but no elevator! The room was pretty good, nice, and clean, with the exception of an upholstered chair. I sat in it to watch the large flat screen TV. The chair's arms were sticky with who knows what from years of use and no deep cleaning. Ugh! The back of the same chair was also in the same condition as the arms, more ugh! To use it, we took towels from the b/r and covered the offending areas. No one should have to do this... just gross. The king bed was oh so comfortable and smelled good, which helped foe a good night's sleep. Under the TV cabinet was a mini refrigerator with a freezer, no microwave, but they provided a small coffee pot system with reg and decaf. The b/r had a fantastic shower with good water pressure, nearly immediate hot water. A word of caution, the bottom of the tub was a bit slick. In the morning, there was a decent breakfast, carbs, protein, and juices, a good balance. This Quality Inn was beyond my expectations! Zack was so friendly and helpful and had plenty of recommendations for what to do/eat around the area. The room was big and clean. The free breakfast was way better than others I've seen! There were tea, coffee, juices, yogurt, eggs, sausages (one day) and bacon (another day), all kinds of bread for toasting, and a waffle maker! The swimming pool was clean and well maintained too. I took a dip on my last morning before I checked out. They also have a gym but I didn't have time to use it (also lazy). 4.5 stars for the room. Very clean with a pleasant odor when we walked in and very comfortable beds. Love the lamp set up next to the beds! You can see some distress on the wood furniture and tell that the bathroom tile work is older, but everything has been kept in good repair. I could hear voices in the hallway, so it's not as soundproof as I'd like, but thankfully, the hotel seemed to have low occupancy and no one was being obnoxiously loud. The lady at the front desk was friendly and provided all the information I needed about my stay without me having to ask. This is now a Quality Inn, not a Comfort Inn. My second time staying here but this will be the LAST. Lots out of order (computer, restroom in lobby, the only weight machine). NO elevator or automatic doors, so if you are on second floor, good luck! This place has a nice indoor pool (though kept too cold), and the rooms are fine with little fridges and microwaves. Pool and Gym require reservations now with COVID which present problems (see below). And breakfast right now is only a stale muffin/yogert in a bag. HOWEVER, be aware of the assistant manager Jenny, who could put the 3rd Reich to shame. I was here for 3 nights. The first morning I asked to get into the little (very little) "Fitness Center" at about 6:30. A very nice lady got me in, no problem. The second morning, I was a little later-- about7:30, and Jenny would not let me in until 8am "because COVID". Apparently the center has to be reserved so they can clean it between guests. Fair enough, except no one else was going to be in there before me, since I reserved the 8am spot. Nope-- I was forced to wait half an hour just because. This morning (I write this in the lobby) I tried to get in early again, before Jenny's shift started, but she clearly had told today's front desk lady to NOT let me in. I asked why, if I'm the first one signed up I couldn't get in a tad early and was told "it wouldn't be fair to other guests for me to have extra time." Want to guess how many guests were signed up to use the gym today? One-- yours truly. So this was all about some sort of power trip and not actual safety. read more

Room was clean, king bed comfortable with both hard and soft pillows. In-wall AC/heat unit worked very well. Mini-fridge, coffee maker and Microwave in the room, TV had plenty of stations, sufficient outlets for electronics. WiFi was OK. Bathroom amenities include the standard lotion, shampoo, conditioner, soap. Water pressure and temp excellent. Free breakfast includes both hot and cold breakfast items. We have come back to this hotel at least four or five times, each time coming for the Watkins Glen race weekend since it is only about 25 minutes from the track. this time, we were once again blown away by how amazingly nice every single employee was that we encountered. It didn't matter if it was the desk agent, the cleaning people popping their heads out of the doorways as we walked by, the lady cleaning up and refillng items in the breakfast area.... Just so darn nice and friendly. The hotel itself is very clean, up-to-date, and comfortable. we did a lot of swimming in the hotel pool this weekend which was kept very clean, however, the towels are teeny tiny. And I will say that the water could have stood to be a few degrees warmer. This hotel is an easy walk to the Corning museum of Glass, which we also appreciated. Breakfast was kept nice and warm and delicious and we especially enjoyed the waffle and the sausage gravy and biscuit was to die for, I was shocked how much I liked it. a little bonus at the hotel is every evening they have a little snack station, one day it was cheese and crackers and cookies, another day it was fresh popcorn and cheese and crackers. It was a nice little touch that was very appreciated. we will continue to come back to this hotel time and again whenever we are traveling for the NASCAR race. read more

Not a bad hotel and a lot more than I expected. My friends & I came to Corning due to the passing of a friend, they reserved several rooms in this hotel for my group. In a previous job I had the chance to travel the country and had the ability to stay in a variety of hotels across the spectrum. A few things that I like about this hotel is that it is near the main highway, close enough that you won't get easily lost but far enough, a few blocks that you don't see it. It's two blocks from a center road and a fair walk from Market Street. In fact this hotel is either a fair walk or easy drive from many things. When traveling for work this is the type of hotel I wouldn't mind spending a few days to a week in. Apparently it's two floors lol, walking in to your right you'll see the check-in counter, to your left the lobby. Beyond that it the cafe area where you can have breakfast and coffee and just past that the pool which is heated. The other thing that I like about this hotel is the layout, it's simple and without head spinning turns or hallways. With your room key you are able to get in via the back door. The rooms are fair size, I shared a double with a friend. It had two fluffy queen beds, a desk, mini fridge and DVD player, my friends that had a single king hadca sitting area with sofa and chair. I love when hotels provide the amenity of a free mini fridge so you can keep cold drinks or leftovers in. The fact that thdy provide a DVD player is phenomenal, I imagine a family traveling with kids can take advantage of that and OH the WiFi is FREE with the password. If visiting Corning you should lay your head down here. read more

I'll always mark down for no elevator and no automatic doors. but that's my only complaint, and I can't even really complain about that, because ... check it out: I made my reservation online for a first-floor room, and got a call from the hotel about 15 minutes later saying that there weren't any more first-floor rooms available and the hotel has no elevator; would I be okay with the second-floor room? I thought it was so nice of them to call ahead and make sure that was okay before confirming the reservation. Top-notch service. Check-in was friendly and swift. There were cookies, brownie bites, carrots, celery, and other mixed munchies on a little table by the check in counter. A treat to see raw veggies! The beds are high and cushy, with comfy down comforters and both soft/firm pillows. I slept like a baby. Bathroom is spotless, great water pressure in the shower, and a little container with Qtips and cotton balls on the counter--nice touch. I like how this hotel is trying to do a few things differently. Price was a bit high but I think that's the area. Happy to have stayed here; it nudged my perception of Comfort Inn hotels toward the positive and I'll be more likely to consider them in the future after this stay. read more

I watched an elderly man with A WALKER struggling to get up the stairs (another guest was helping him up, he mentioned they told him there were no rooms on the first floor) with no staff member in sight even trying to assist him. Toilet paper holder did not, in fact, hold toilet paper, the paint was peeling around the shower floor and it smelled of urine in the room. Had to have my key recoded each day I was here, and they never asked to see ID when coding the keys, just asked my name. Shower did not drain so had to stand in water while showering. They do have Nutella packets for breakfast though, so you can rage eat the memories away. 1 star for the Nutella only. read more

Really, really, really nice people at the front desk. Very accommodating with my last minute booking. I have stayed at the competition in Corning that is supposed to be a top drawer hotel. Let me tell you to save your money and stay at this Comfort Inn instead. My king room was beautiful, impeccably clean, and nicely decorated. The staff had cranked up the air conditioning and even left me a handwritten welcome note. The bathroom was big (with cotton balls and qtips in a dispenser -who does that?) and had everything I needed, plus some. Did I mention the fluffy bed and stack of pillows with a note that pointed out that the front pillows were softer and the back pillows firmer? The pool is very clean and is located in a nice Florida style enclosure. Very adequate FREE breakfast... Stay here when in Corning. read more

Everything about our stay was wonderful The staff were beyond helpful, friendly and nice. Room was cleaned even if with infants in the room. They tried to do everything to make our weekend perfect. We were there for a half marathon and they went above and beyond to provide for he runners. early (5am) breakfast so we could get nourished before we had to leave. Snacks and water throughout the day. Anything and everything we asked they were ready to help. Only thing I would say is there is a lack of extra pillows and blankets besides what's in the rooms. So no possibility to get any extra firm pillows. But traveled with infants and they had pack and plays set in the room, high chairs available. The bad- This is our second night here and they've been out of shampoo since we arrived. Our air conditioner smells like rotten fish. Barely any of the doors leading outside shut properly. Rooms were spotless! The staff was so welcoming and they all went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We have stayed at the near by hotel, The Radisen, and we prefer the Comfort Inn any day. First of all the night staff was extremely helpful and understanding after a very trying evening. First of all it was around 11pm and after going to the original motel that claimed to be overbooked we made a call to Comfort Inn. They had a room available for one night only. We just needed a place for the evening and would deal with the next 2 days on the fly. They went out of their way to make our stay comfy. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. First time back since the remodel. We stayed here many times over the years visiting family, but the prices just after the remodel were a bit too high for us at that time. Now it's a decent price range for us during this time period. Employees are very nice, room is very comfortable, clean, new beds, flatscreen tv, DVD player, wifi. Many electrical outlets-especially as part of the lamps on both sides of the bed: a nice plus! Lobby area looks inviting and new carpeting throughout the building. Two-story building, but no elevator. Close to the historic downtown, the CMOG, and Wegmans. This hotel was always a "home away from home" for us and if we can manage to get our stay and right price range to work out for us, we'll definitely stay here again. read more

We stayed here for an event in Painted Post. The location was good but the room wasn't and the staff seem to have no ability or should I say authority to do anything. We understood the hotel was booked solid due to a baseball tournament BUT that does not excuse 1.) Mishandled check-in which required a second trip to the front desk. 2.) Broken TP fixture in bathroom that the maid would be aware of. 3.). Mold in the shower under the shelf. Obviously, had not been cleaned in a long time. I regret not taking pics. 4.) Broken drawers. Again, a maid should notice and report to maintenance. 5.) A check-out where we were told to wait for a room inspection, they needed to take care of a line of people first and then would do it. Yet, a second employee was standing there doing nothing. We had an event to go to. 6.) No receipt given as they wrote the wrong email down. These were the highlights of our stay. There were other issues but we were willing to cut slack since they were booked solid. However, the cleaning staff leaves a lot to be desired and they should compensate for not maintaining furniture and fixtures. Guests shouldn't be the ones pointing out these items to the staff. We travel quite a bit, and this was disappointing and enough for my husband to cross the entire Choice Hotel brand of the list of contenders. We stayed here because friends were booked here and were willing to try it. Well, it has made my husband do a lot of PR. For this company-all bad. There are better places. read more

We stay at many more expensive hotels but this Comfort Inn was exceptional. We spoke to three shifts of staff and they were all very helpful. While in the lobby, I overheard them working hard to make each visitor happy. The room was clean and there were many extras from cookies in the lobby, selection of toiletries in the bathroom, to a nice breakfast included. We did not have time to try the pool or use the complimentary gas grill. Across from the parking lot is an excellent ice cream shop with homemade ice cream. read more

Put in a room they claimed to be one of their best. 1) no Elevator 2) room situated above machine room that caused the floor to shake until 10PM. 3) Bathroom door had to be lifted to be closed because of either a warped floor or door. 3) Was woken up starting at 6AM with slamming doors that could be heard against the headboard. 4) Light blew out in the bathroom but at least maintenance guy took care of it. If that wasn't the worse of it, they charged us full price and, then after we left I realized I left a custom shirt there in the room but when I called to ask them to ship to me, oh, they claimed they didn't have it. I travel a lot for business and pleasure over the past 30 years, and while what looks like a clean place, never have I had to go out of my way to share a customer experience this bad. read more

She went out of her way to make sure everything was warm and plentiful, all while greeting guests, and making sure that they got what they needed. Superb service for economy price. The room is a bit small for mid-range lodgings, but the features are excellent. The pillows are down-filled, the shower water pressure is like Niagara Falls, the hot water is REALLY hot, the mattresses are dreamy, and the staff is wonderful.
