Good Is very good, service Is very friendly, and the Viet Iced Coffee Is the best. Strong dark coffee.

The ONLY Vietnamese place you should go to in Rochester. Super nice owner and very quick service. The other viet places in town don't even have bun bo hue on their menu. Saigon is an easy Rochester 5 star (but maybe not a NYC or NJ 5 star but that's okay). Banh mi is missing the pate/mayo so maybe skip this but the rest is amazing. Probably the only reason I've been able to live in Rochester for the past 7 years. I'll be back for more bun bo hue and ice coffee.

I heard about this place through a friend and so glad I did. It is located next to another Vietnamese restaurant that I have not tried yet. Location is very small with few seats (actually, I'm not even sure there is a bathroom even). Menu is very limited but they cover all of the basics (one pho dish, bun bo hue, banh mi, com tam, hu tieu, etc). You have to purchase your drink separately and this is no frills. Prices are reasonable for inflation now (around $12/entree). Tried the pho and bun bo hue. Both were delicious! Will definitely come back.

Walked in and was greeted and seated immediately. Ordered a couple of things and everything was delicious. I swear some of the best pho you will have! Will definitely keep coming back!

First time going back to Saigon Pho in years. They've made some nice reservations with the lighting, floors and paint. It's still a small space, but much more inviting, cozy and clean in appearance than before. Pho is still just as good as I remember. Slightly more salty, oily and beefy than their neighbors at Nam Vang. Noodles are a bit more bouncy and chewy which I like.

I had been craving Bún bò Huế and this was one of the few restaurants in Rochester that had it. They are taking take out only. I arrived and placed my order in person and waited less than 15 minutes for everything to be ready. I got the Bún bò Huế (spicy beef soup) and bánh bột chiên (fried rice flour cakes). The soup was so good. Very spicy (in the best way) with tender beef. I loved the broth. The bánh bột chiên was crispy and came with a vinegary dipping sauce that was a good compliment in flavor. It also has scrambled egg mixed in, which is always good. This was a solid meal and I would definitely recommend giving them a try when you want Vietnamese food!

So I read reviews before coming so I knew to expect a little place ... was the pho a bit pricey , yes yes it was.. was that pho worth EVERY PENNY???? YES !! Yes it was .. seriously I've had a lot of pho and that by far was my favorite. The fried dumplings where also delicious. They are only open lunch hours and I will make time to find myself back there. Delicious!!

One of the few places in Rochester that has Banh Mi on their menu. Pretty good or for seven bones.

Don't tell me what to do.

It's a big sandwich, so you won't (sigh) when it's gone unless you have a mega huge appetite. Really though, I have nothing really bad to say about Saigon. Their sandwich is huge and pretty cheap and is not bad. I think the one next door is a little better and neither one would go on my favorite Vietnamese sandwich list or anything. The service here was fine. You should probably try both sandwiches here and next door since they're both so cheap - so that you can decide for yourself which one you like more. Bear in mind the only sandwich they offer is with cold cuts, which are Vietnamese lunch meat much like the one next door.

Pho soup left from the plastic bag. :(

I was craving for pho for lunch, and was super excited to try their pho. I got 2 beef pho, ban mi, and spring rolls for a takeout. I set the bag on the passenger seat floor. Unfortunately, they put 2 large cuts on the soup container lid (I assume to relieve pressure when it's too hot) which really defeats the purpose of having a lid and by the time I got home, entire soup was drained out as the soup containers shifted and fell over inside the plastic bag. The lids were on tight, just leaked through the cuts. Now my car carpet is soaked with 2 full of pho soup (spilled out of the plastic bag!!) and I don't get to taste it. What a bummer. The ban mi was really good, spring rolls were okay. The restaurant said I could come back to get soup but I live 30+ min away. And they close at 3 on Fridays (not sure what their real hours are. Can't find anywhere). She said she would give a credit for next time order so im leaving 3 stars... too bad they don't tape the "vent holes" for takeout orders like other takeout places. So be aware when you do takeouts, ask to seal the vent holes (not sure if they would?), bring a scotch tape, or set it in place securely to avoid the bag from tipping over or moving around.

Unsurprisingly, I originally visited to try the pho itself. While the pho is served with a plate of Thai basil, hoisin, siracha, sprouts and lime to add flavor, I'm still somewhat regularly disappointed in the lack of umami flavor in the broth itself. It lacks some depth. There are also times when my broth wasn't quite as hot as I would have wanted. Generally, the pho is fine... but there are better options around Henrietta and Rochester. Just something to keep in mind. I've had a variety of other dishes as well, and the pork banh mi is another that could use some improvement. In the couple times that I've had it, it seems to be very dry. I want a scrumptious banh mi with plenty of pickled veggies and a flavorful pork... but that isn't what I've experienced here. It's served with a broth on the side, and that's fine... but I want my flavor *IN* the sandwich... without having to use a broth as a substitute to add moisture to the meat or flavor to the sandwich. On a recent visit, I brought my mother. She ended up ordering the shrimp fried rice for her lunch, and, while the size was large (she ended up needing a takeout container to bring about half of it home), she found the dish to be lacking in flavor and components (noting that more vegetables might have been nice). During this visit, I also ordered the spicy cucumber salad for the first time... and also found *that* side lacking in flavor. There was an itsy bitsy amount of spice... but for something marked on the menu as spicy? It wasn't what I was expecting. Service was fine, and the overall ambience of the restaurant is inviting and clean. The entrance/exit can be a bit rough for cars that are a bit lower to the road... just something to be aware of.

The inside was clean but the AC was barely noticeable on such a hot day. Waitress came over with water and an iPad for ordering then didn't show up for another 10+ minutes. I finally walked everything over the the counter to get her attention and placed my order. I started with the fresh veggie spring rolls. These were just ok. The dipping sauce was quite spicy, and even with that they tasted pretty bland. No discernible herbs in the rolls at all, just some tofu, carrot, & lettuce. For my entree I got a vegan banh mi. It came out warm and the baguette was crunchy, if a bit dense. Again, very little fresh veg on it which is usually the highlight of a banh mi. There was a few pieces of iceburg lettuce (unheard of on a banh mi!) and one or two sprigs of cilantro, along with the same sauce from the fresh spring rolls. It was a bit disappointing but at least it filled my belly. Couldn't find the waitress to ask for more water or napkins, so I made do with what I had.
