Wow! What a gem of a restaurant! We were waited on by I believe one of the 2 owners - great young man who provided good service and friendly attitude. The food was beautifully presented and so delicious! Truly authentic and cooked with love The interior is tres chic and very ! We passed on dessert but had to take a photo of the plate on the table next to us! We will be back to try it out for sure!

You don't find many Ukrainian restaurants, but here we are! This cozy restaurant in the South Wedge neighborhood was very welcoming. I stopped in for lunch one day when I was in the area. I was greeted by a helpful server who asked if I was familiar with Ukrainian food (I am) then let me peruse the menu. They have a wide selection of potato pancake and verenyky (pierogies) amongst other Ukrainian favorites (stuffed cabbage, sausage, borscht, etc) . They also had some interesting traditional Ukrainian drinks. The food was delicious! I highly recommend and look forward to coming here again.

I got the Kyiv Cake as takeaway (I would have gone in person - the store looks so cute). The cake was packaged with care with a piece of food-grade paper on the bottom. It came in a timely manner and the service was professional. It was a lovely dessert that I'd never had before; I loved the hazelnuts inside and the crispy texture of the cake.

In South Ave, a small corner of Ukraine is found. A family owned restaurant. Bohdan S was my server; his parents and sister-in-law did the cooking. The decor is simple, with dark gray walls, flowery arrangements, and the The Ukranian flag hung from the wall. It's cozy I came specifically for Chicken Kyiv, a favorite of mine since growing up in NYC, and The Russian Tea Room. The Chicken Kyiv, just as I remember it. Crispy on the outside, a rolled chicken breast oozing herbs and butter in the center. I added some salt & pepper. It comes with two scoops of creamy mashed potatoes with a mushroom gravy. Loved it. The drink Uzvar is made from dried berries. Refreshing.) For dessert, Prague cake-chocolate layer cake with fruit liquor. Very good. Definitely will come back to explore other dishes.

I wanted to try something new and Galicia's glowing Yelp reviews led me to try Ukrainian cuisine for the first time. Who would have thought my first Ukrainian food experience would be in Rochester. I visited for lunch on a Friday and I was the first one there at 11 am. I made sure they served their lunch menu (menu says 12pm onward) before sitting down. Being unfamiliar with Ukrainian cuisine, it took me awhile to study the menu. My waiter, Damian, sensed my uneasiness and helped to explain the menu. He made a few recommendations. I ended up ordering their "Savoring Ukrainian" Set which is a sampling of potato pancakes (2), potato varenyky (5), cabbage roll, sauerkraut, sour cream and mushroom gravy. Everything was delicious, but my favorite items were the potato dumplings and the cabbage roll (which had meat in it). To my pleasant surprise, Damian brought out a free sampling of a dish I was asking him about earlier: salo. It reminded me of uncooked bacon (pretty much is except from the pork back). It was different but good (buttery texture and salty) and was served with with spicy green garlic dressing. He also gave me a free sample of Kvass, a slightly carbonated sweet and sour drink that reminded me of a cola but is actually a fermented rye malt beverage. The food is was tasty. Damian's friendliness and eagerness to promote Ukrainian food was also a highlight of the lunch. I will definitely be back and will try to spread a good word about Galicia.

They are amazing! They were very willing to communicate with us. They were very patient and let us know what food has such as very spicy or whatesover. It would be good benefit for customers to know. Lucky for me that I love spicy food. Their food are amazing and the setting at restaurant is so relaxing and homey. It's worth my trip to this place. I would recommend for authentic ukurian cuisine (forgive my misspelling). I hope to see this restaurant going stronger and definitely come back for next time meal!!

Traditional Ukrainian Menu available in a quaint cafe atmosphere-of approximately 8-10 tables. Upon arrival you are greeted by the friendly and warmly inviting staff, eager to aid any questions you may have. After a lengthy contemplation of authentic menu from Ukraine. The music is very warm and inviting, gentle to the ears and warming to the heart. The aroma was delightful, as we were closely seated to the kitchen, and every dish we seen brought out looked spectacular and better than the one before. The restaurant also does happily provide take out orders, and will provide larger orders to meet all requests.

A really fantastic addition to the South Wedge and Rochester culinary scene. The food was all very fresh tasting with the herbs and spices coming through. The location is small and cozy, but feels like a local staple that has been there for decades, even though it is relatively new. Because it is small, the service was great and we felt like we were treated like family friends. We live down the block so super glad to have this spot nearby.

It had me wondering if we were going to be stuck in the drive through for a bit. I was surprised by how efficient everything was as the workers were taking orders well ahead of the line which seemed to keep things moving. The menu has so many options I wasn't sure what to pick. I went with the Cherry Blossom Lemonade. Consisting of cherry and peach flavor in a lemonade. I chose a medium which was quite large and cost me less than 5 dollars. The drink was real tasty! I have been craving another. The ordering process was quick and easy. I think the overall time taken was a little under 10 minutes. Not much ambiance to be found as it's a drive up operation. They did have music playing and signage which initially confused me, as I thought you could get two medium drinks for 7 dollars. (Plus stickers!) the employee explained this is a special they have on the 7th of each month and it can get quite busy as who doesn't want discounts and free stickers?

Seriously, every bite was perfection. And of course, we couldn't resist the fresh mimosas -- bubbly, fruity, and just what brunch calls for. The staff was super friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and you can tell they take pride in the food and the atmosphere. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. But I choose to go to Mamaste Cafe and Play to support their small business and because Jack loves to go and help austin play and go down the slides. We went today to celebrate my nephews 1st birthday and Jack goes in to the play area to say hi and happy birthday to marky. The way the owner of this place snapped and told me he needs to get out of the play area now was absolutely disgusting. Cause Jack is "too old" to play when I clearly stated he is helping his 10 month old brother. And she didn't even have the audacity to say sorry. I have now posted a review since I think her actions were despicable, but also because the age limit is not posted anywhere. I honestly wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when she told me that she had ordered us squirt guns and that the girls were supposed to spray they boys and a supposed to get the girls with pussy willows. Sadly, the squirt guns did not arrive from Amazon before we left the house for the event bc no one else had squirt gums when we're got there a little after 5:00pm, I did however see some people with pussy willows. The set and flow to order and pick up food went very smoothly. My friend got a platter and I opted for 6 pirogies and a side of kielbasa and a ticket for water or soda. If they had listed the beer/wine options in the tent where we purchased the food tickets, I may have spent the money on an alcoholic drink. I did like that they had the schedule posted and for the most part they stuck to it. There was a decent amount of people there but it didn't feel too crowded. We got our food and sat at a high top table right on the front porch which allowed for conversation while still people watching. The food was really good, probably the best pirogies I e ever had to be honest! We listened to a few songs from the band but the pirogi eating contest was quite the sight! I do wish that the women running/coordinating the contest didn't use a microphone. I think it would have been a bit more polished if they were able to announce the rules and then learn about each of the participants and then announce, honor and present the prizes to the winners.
