Day trip to Rochester we got hungry along the way and found this cute place! Great food great atmosphere. They have lots of fun games and art making for a nice place for the whole family. Plenty of parking and seating and prices were good too. A bit of humor as well I enjoyed the children's menu lol and the named sandwiches and wraps. Would definitely come back again! read more

Went here for a get together and kids date. Lots of fun for The kids, running all over. Very loud. We didn't check out the quieter section (we had kids). A fun positive energy place that is decent for kids. Ours were 2 years old. Coffee was surprisingly good. Food was ok, not warned up and we waited for That. So not sure what happened there. It was smoky and we smelt like smoke after. Maybe not all the time but noticeable. read more

If you enjoy good food and tasty speciality drinks this is the place to be on any given day. If you want a quiet relaxing experience I don't suggest going on the weekend or on a holiday during breakfast or lunch hour as it gets busy and a bit loud for easy conversation. They even have a cute little play area for small children so you can relax while your little one plays. You can't really go wrong with anything you pick on the menu and they do have gluten free options. My personal favorite is the avocado toast which I have to say is the best I have ever had. I recently went out on a limb and ordered a cup of their lobster bisque which I knew was a gamble, and as I anticipated, it wasn't the best. The soup didn't have much flavor, needed salt, but again, I wasn't expecting it to be amazing but still wanted to try it. I also had the Biscotti Latte which is a special right now and it was to die for, do not pass by this place without stopping! You will regret it!!! read more

I always spend more money than I want or plan to when I come here because I like everything on the menu. What first drew me in was an ad I saw on Facebook a while back for a latte flight, which sounded fun. They have some fun flavors. Beyond that, the sandwiches and salads are amazing. The tator tots are also great. My boyfriend usually orders from the specials menu and hasn't had any complaints either. The best part is that it's a board game cafe. We often bring our own game to play while we eat, but there's a large selection to choose from already there. There's even a designated child play area. Can't recommend enough. read more

It was so great hosting our pop up at pure imagination cafe! It was so easy to get in touch with the manager and schedule a meeting to discuss our plans! They gave us the perfect space for our pop up, great lighting from their large windows and of course we ordered from their new holiday menus and it was delicious! We are looking forward to our continued partnership but most importantly as continued guests to enjoy other events and their food and drinks read more

I've become a bit of a regular here this year. I'm so glad there is a nice cafe like this on the west side of the city. I've tried the breakfast, lunch, and coffee drinks and they are all delicious. The menu is quite extensive for both beverages as well as meals. My favorite lunch is their chicken salad croissant. Drink wise, any coffee drink is delicious and there are a variety of unique flavors offered. The atmosphere of the place itself is great - there is an area to bring your children which makes it a family friendly spot. It can get crowded sometimes, but they usually have an area that is a party space that is typically open for adults and more quiet if you are looking to get some work done there as well. read more

My wife and I were invited to a baby shower at the cafe. We had never been there and found the place to be very comfortable. There is a beautiful and spacious party room located in the rear of the cafe. It was modern and well equipped for the event, with many tables and a cozy fireplace. The food was amazing as was the desert. What made it so special was the helpful and friendly staff. These ladies were outstanding. I mean right on top of things. The service was prompt and efficent. The cleanup was so fast and appreciated as it really kept the party on track. Chris was so interactive & personable; we felt right at home. A special thanks to Kali whom made this special event come off without a hitch. If you are looking for that special place for that special event, look no further - you found it. read more

What an "imaginative" space they have here. They are located on Buffalo Rd, right next to the Bill Gray's. I was really surprised that I have not heard of this cute café sooner. I was served up an ad on social media and stopped in for some coffee drinks. This location is decent sized with tables to eat-in and a kids corner. I immediately noticed how nice and clean the location was, which is always a huge plus. The theme throughout is harry potter, represented in the names of food items, the dragon painted kids corner and a cozy couch corner. I was warmly greeted as soon as I walked in, and menu questions were kindly answered. They have a decent sized menu including breakfast, lunch/dinner, and kids options. I ordered a butterbeer iced latte and dark chocolate/pistachio hot latte, very happy to see they offer skim milk. The lattes were ready as requested, quickly. The butterbeer had a subtle butterscotch/toffee flavor where the chocolate/pistachio latte was more aggressive. While I enjoy the pistachio syrup, I think in the future I would get less of it, or just hold off as it tasted too artificial, if that makes sense. Overall very decent lattes. I also got a Bretzel which is one of their locally sourced pastries that rotate daily (They have these most days though). It is a pastry with chocolate filling, wrapped in the shape of a pretzel with chopped almonds on top. They offer to heat it up for you if eating in, which I would suggest. I enjoyed this treat and it is definitely is a sharable size. Overall, I was so impressed with this café, and will be visiting again soon! The location is cozy & clean, staff was friendly and drinks/pastry were very good. Check them out, their menu is posted online. read more

This is a cute little place. Lots of board games, books, and a nice little menu. It's a great concept. The food left a lot to be desired. I had the Wicked Witch, my guest had the Davinci, and the kids had Cheese Pizza. First of all, why is there a lack of very common board games? No Connect Four, Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders - missing a LOT of common "kids" board games. There was a lot of weird Harry Potter type board games nobody has ever heard of. The play area was cool, but you can tell not much thought was put behind it. Let's put a bunch of random crap in this corner and let the kids figure out what to do with it. I don't think whoever thought of this area is an actual parent. The food? Mediocre at best. The kids didn't care for the cheese pizza, and the parents didn't care much for the sandwiches, either. This place is an AMAZING concept, but with unamazing execution. This place would probably thrive with a focus on what kids actually want to eat for a meal, and what they want to play with. read more

Such a fun little cafe that is themed so well! I love all the fun names for the food and drinks! I love to get their Judd Nelsonegg, cheddar cheese, bacon, or sausage on your bread of choice. I like to have it on a bagel. I also really like their different egg cups! To drink, my favorite is their cinnamon toast chai latte which is vanilla chai with cinnamon sugar and butter cookie syrup. They also have wonderful specials, which are fun to try. There is ample seating inside to enjoy your meal there. They also have a cute small store area with lots of fun goodies to look through. read more

This was a neat spot we found late Sunday morning. It was busy but not crowded. It's a peaceful open concept that worked well. It even had a corner area for small kids to play games, enjoy a doll house, kids' kitchen, blocks, games, and books. There were quite a few children playing happily there! We ordered the DaVinci sandwich and the egg pastries (Humpty Dumpty, Green Eggs No Ham, and the Golden Goose). All were quite delicious. The menu items all have fun names, and even the bathrooms were decorated with fun uplifting signs. This is a great little spot! read more

Lots of food options and plenty of seating. Always bustling with customers. Parking can be hard to find in the plaza.

This place is so cute inside. A few weird very specialized products as you walk in, like $20 tea, Amish popcorn and weird flavored cotton candy (jalapeño anyone?). A counter to place your order with a case that has a few pastries in it. And a dining area with a corner for little ones to occupy themselves as their parents try to get a break. The menu show their sense of humor with the "Breakfast Club" selections and the kids menu with names like "I don't know" and "I'm not hungry". However where the cafe lets it self down is the food itself. There is no cooking here that I could tell, more like reheating frozen product or assembling from packaged "food". We ordered the breakfast bowl, the Ally Sheedy, the teriyaki chicken and waffles and a bagel. Plus a chai, a iced latte flight and a regular coffee. For a total with tip of $60+. The breakfast bowl was previously frozen home fries with scrambled folded egg, bacon bits and shredded cheese from a bag. The Ally Sheedy was barely toasted bread that claimed it was sourdough with weird guacamole from a bag, sliced tomatoes and everything bagel seasoning. The teriyaki chicken and waffles was a waffle ice cream cone filled with previously frozen breaded chicken strips covered with a sickenly sweet "teriyaki" sauce. The drinks were all sweeter than dessert. I may never understand how a food establishment screws up avocado toast! But somehow they find new and interesting ways to do it. Seriously, it's mashed avocado on toast, and for the Love of All things Good in this World season it! Whatever that glop is was more chemical preservative than food. The tomatoes were good so I guess I have that going for me. The chicken and waffles was such an abomination that after 2 bites it was destined for the trash. I don't know about you but chicken candy is not a favorite of mine. The breakfast bowl was muddled through or else starvation would've set in. The sugary drinks were left mostly unconsumed as I was concerned about diabetes setting in. I do think this cafe has good qualities. If you're a parent, bring your kid, get your coffee and I sincerely wish you at least 5 minutes of peace. Goodness knows you deserve it. read more

I love that we have a place like this on the west side. Not only does it appear to be great for kids/parents since there's a play area, this place is a great place to get work done or meet with others while enjoying food that fits everyone's diet - including vegan and gluten free. It was also my savior during a long power outage, so I am eternally grateful. They have a wealth of breakfast, lunch, and snack options, as well as a small area selling local jams and things. I ordered the Humpty Dumpty egg cup, the Principal Vernon on gluten free bread, and some hot tea. I found myself a spot with an electrical outlet and got to work. The food was very enjoyable - good flavors and the gluten free bread was nice and soft. It took maybe 3-5 minutes until it was ready, and there were plenty of people ahead of me, so they were on top of things. My only gripe would be that there are very few plugs for those looking to use this as your replacement Starbucks work space, but that can be an expensive things to change and isn't a deal breaker. read more

This place was unsanitary. Cashier was coughing up a lung with a line of people out the door. She was touching the register, money, coughing and touching the inside of cups. After seeing her put her finger inside my cup, I asked a different staff for a new cup. This new staff actually went back to the cashier and had the same person grab my cup. I asked for a refund and left. Still have yet to receive my refund for my Raspberry Latte. Im not working hard to spend my money somewhere that is going to make me sick. Completely unprofessional and unsanitary. My friend got Ricotta toast, the toast was HARD and the tomatoes soggy, barely lukewarm. Wasted $20!!!!! I want my money back. WILL NOT RETURN except to see about my refund. read more

Cute little shop. There is a nice little play area for kids to play while parents can visit or relax while keeping an eye on them. I had an iced macchiato and bagel with cream cheese. It was ok. Great food with clever names. Coffee and Italian soda drinks are tasty with many different offerings. Though portions are smallish, I've never left hungry. Service is always friendly. Unique to the cafe are a children's play area, an adult only room (when not reserved), a half-wall bookshelf full of a variety of books--mostly paperbacks, and a small variety of board games. They also have food and coffee products for sale. The ambiance is nice and easy. Definitely a favorite place to meet friends. read more

A great coffee and sandwich shop. I had the turkey, brie and cranberries spread. It was very good. My daughter had the "Bucket of Balls," which is a bowl of meatballs with sauce and crostinis. What a gorgeous cafe! We attempted to go once and it was closed due to a private party, but we took another swing a few months later, and boy was that a great idea! Nestled into a multi use strip plaza, they have a definitive entrance with outdoors seating, and a prominent menu board showing their current information. Once you enter, it's a beautifully layed out setup, coffee bar counter, seating and flooring, lots for the eyes! Sandwiches abound, from the judd Nelson to the Anthony Michael Hall, and entry of sweets and baked treats! The Emilio Estevez was scrumptious, avocados, salsa, cheddar cheese on eggs and your choice of bread was a win! The snickerdoodle latte was delicious, as was the chai latte that my kiddo ordered. We also had to try these chocolate pastry "pretzels" - they were light, flaky, and just chocolate enough to play off of the flavors! Well done!! read more

Found this place on this app and decided to give it a try because the names of the menu items really caught my eye. I couldn't stop looking over the menu because I just found the theme very clever. Ambiance vibe: this place is very clean and spacious. It has a little corner for the kiddos which I find very cute! I don't have children but it's a really great idea for parents who want to relax and drink their coffee but not have to entertain their kids. Service: we were greeted right away and the staff did a good job answering any questions we had. They were very knowledgeable of the menu items and drinks. We also were served very fast! Our food and drinks came out very quickly and I couldn't have been happier for how hungry I was. Food/drink: I got half a sandwich and half a salad and they were fresh and very flavorful. I also got a latte which was absolutely amazing! Pure Imagination has many sandwich, salad, and breakfast options. They have pastries available and bottled drinks as well. Overall: I love the theme of this place and the ambiance. The food was very delightful and overall I am very happy with this place. I highly recommend for great food and if you have children. Pure Imagination Cafe - 1/2 Eat Pray Love Sandwich Combo with Red Riding Hood Salad - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Rochester, New York

I've been following this cafe for a while but I'm on the east side so it was easy for me to try it. I finally had the chance to stop on a Saturday for lunch, it was busy but not crazy busy and they had plenty of staff. I only had to wait 5 mins to order but it took 30 mins to make 1 salad, 2 sandwiches and 1 pizza. One sandwich and the salad had roast turkey on it and honestly the turkey was disgusting, it reminded me of canned processed meat, it was rubbery with really no flavor, I didn't end up finishing the salad or the sandwich. My kids didn't care for the pizza, but they are kids so that doesn't say much. It's a cool spot with play area for the kids and very relaxed but I doubt I would order lunch again from them. read more

Had quite possibly the most expensive and WORST London Fog latte I've ever had here I ordered a large, thinking that it would be so delicious and well worth the $8 dollars. When I tasted it, I couldn't even taste the black tea flavor. All I tasted was the flavor syrups they used to sweeten it. There was also only ONE teabag in a 24 ounce cup. Hello? It's 24 ounces! In order to enhance the flavor, one should at least use 2 teabags. I was quite disappointed and wish I could get a refund on this item. read more

This place is really cute! They have a really nice play area for children and their whole theme seems to be centered around children's books. They have a wide range of food and drinks that you can eat in or take out. I've had their Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte (I think) and their London Fog, both were awesome! They also have dairy free alternatives for all of their beverages which i really appreciate. I will say, they are a little pricey but probably comparable to Starbucks and you support a small business. I actually talked to the owners the first time I went their and they were both very nice! They have a very sweet story and seem to truly enjoy being part of this community. Highly recommend & go support them! read more

Stopped by for a coffee break from the airport. The place is cute, somewhat rustic vibe with a kids section. Family friendly and something for everyone. Baristas are very friendly- immediately greeted as the door opened. Lots of options for coffee, tea, Italian soda, and food. Ordered the cappuccino- it was solid and perfect for a cool afternoon. Ordered the bretzel warmed - top was slightly crispy and the bottom was a tad too soft - wish it was fresher. Overall great cafe to chill, have some coffee, and light fare. read more

With the cold weather I'm all about finding fun indoor activities that are nice for my son and myself and husband! Pure Imagination Cafe was a cute little spot with a great selection of food and drinks along with toys and an area for kids to play. I loved the iced raspberry macchiato I got and my husband enjoyed his panini. My son also had fun playing with the Batman toys in the play area. I also love the fact that there is a kid corner where kids can play while moms or friends can get together. I ordered lavender latte and egg cups. This cafe is so cute, there's a play area for children, a book shelf of awesome books and they have board games! The food was medium good in my opinion. Portions were on the smaller side.
