Extremely friendly staff. Food is consistently great as well! I go there at least once a week.

All of the others who didn't measure up." But take heart! All it takes is taking off the glasses and letting its hair down, and suddenly you realize just how attractive and special Railway Station Diner really is! It's the quintessential reliable diner. Above average food. Below average prices. Regulars. A counter. Good service. Quick service. The Mediterranean frittata was wholesome and filling. The ingredients, fresh. It came with roast (up charge for raisin toast, but worth it!). The breakfast sandwich with shred, too, was perfectly proportioned; the crunch of the English muffin and the squish of the sausage balanced each other exactly equally, like Neo and Smith in that third Matrix movie. But the true hidden gem was the muffin. Cut in half and grilled. With sugar crystals! Not too big. Not too small. Not so sweet as to be dessert-like. Just perfectly sweet enough to make you not regret "going savory" by getting the frittata as your main course. Next time you're asked about the best diners around, make sure Railway Station Diner is part of the pantheon.

They have an extensive dessert menu of which content, various ice cream options, fresh milkshakes, fruit, pies, and they even make in-house homemade rice pudding - Yum. My boyfriend got the peanut butter pie that was very decadent rich and truly delicious. I got the tiramisu to take home and it looks like heaven. Still too full from dinner to even be able to taste it. Will definitely be back.

Corned beef hash was fire, same with crab cake omelettes I mean what the heck! So much flavor and seasoning. Pairs great with orange juice. Omelettes came with home fries or hashbrowns and pancakes or French toast. I couldn't even try my boyfriends home fries or French toast because he literally ate everything in 10 minutes. Don't be afraid to get the corned beed hash as a side because honestly, it's a true game stopper. This restaurant makes me want to go back to Rochester. Loved it!

Anyway.... you know I overshare. Furthermore, I've tried a few of the restaurants up here but I had a GREAT experience at the Great American Diner and was inspired to leave a review!! My lovely boyfriend suggested we try this place out. He said it used to be Wimpy's and it was new to him as well. Turns out that was a great decision. Walking in, all of the staff had a great attitude- everyone was in a good mood. We were seated quickly in one of the cozy booths, despite it being pretty busy. This place reminds me of the diners I used to enjoy back home. Assorted jams on the table and condiments for our use, very convenient! For seating, there is also a bar and regular tables. There are TVs that were playing game shows. The menu is quite expansive, you can get all sorts of breakfast items (omlettes, pancakes, waffles, french toast, wraps/sandwiches, platters) as well as plenty of lunch options (sandwiches, burgers, wraps, plates like roast turkey, country fried steak, garbage plates). There are even gluten-free and vegan options. I saw gluten free bread and vegan / gluten free pancakes. I decided on something simple.. a chicken salad sandwich on a hard roll with lettuce and onion. I got tater tots and mac salad with it. The bread was soft, topped with a hearty portion of the chicken salad. My tots were so crispy and delicious, and the mac salad was delightful!! Not many places get the mac salad right but I really enjoyed it! My boo got a breakfast garbage plates.. mind blown lolz!! It had home fried, sausage links, over easy eggs, cheese, and of course topped with meat sauce. You can decide if you want sausage or bacon, how you want your eggs cooked, and what kind of toast you want (bagel, biscuit, english muffin, wheat or white toast). He pretty much cleared his plate. He really liked it. I definitely want to come back here and try their other items, maybe some of their breakfast options this time. Oh, and their milkshakes... gahhh I really wanted one but I had to go into work and was worried I would have a tummy ache lol. It would have to be a day I'm willing to risk it (yes I'm lactose intolerant but sometimes it's worth it). Anyway... we will be back !!

Not gonna lie the food was not that great, had big chocolate chip pancakes which were good,…read morescrambled eggs which were bland and not that good even with salt & pepper, and I had the chicken sausage which was pretty good so the food gets a 2.5/2.8 out of 5 stars at best. Now the reason I am giving it a 5 is because when I walked in, I saw a young lady (forgot her name but she had on 9060 Black & Grey New Balances) she was working her a** off. Clearing off tables, getting people seated, getting people rung up, and she reminded me of myself when I used to work in the food industry doing the same thing. I have a true appreciation for people who work hard and do a great job even though the pay in these positions aren't that well. But however, her hard work ethic is what stood out most to me and I appreciate her working hard .

There is someone just circling constantly with a pot. This is a cash only establishment, so be advised. There is an ATM. We did go at slightly off peak times, since we weren't working those days, but at those times, the restaurant seems to be a favorite of retired men, which is a good sign for a diner! They have a set menu and a specials board that I think changes daily. There's 2 full pages of breakfast, and at least 2 pages of lunch, plus the board. I'm sure you'll find something you like. I had the same thing both visits - a cheese omelet with hashbrowns and wheat toast. It was really cheesy, and I liked that it was a 2 egg omelet rather than 3, for me it was just the right size. We also split a piece of the rotating coffee cake, cinnamon walnut that day, and it was good - not too sweet, plenty of cinnamon. The guy had their 2-2-2 combo and was happy with that choice. For both of us, breakfast ran about $35, for 2 entrees and coffee, plus the cake.

I had the chicken fried steak, and unlike most places, it had a perfectly crispy golden crust and the meat actually tasted like something. The decor is a wild blast of Las Vegas kitsch--neon lights, plush seating, and an atmosphere that oozes old-school Vegas charm. The hostess informed us that it will be a few minutes because they had to clear a table. Another party of five (white) came in after us. A waitress came up and said who's next, I proceeded to inform her that we were next. The waitress looked at me as if I were lying, I stated ask the hostess, when she did ask, the hostess hesitated then said we were next, however after waiting ten minutes, the waitress decided to seat the white folks instead. I became infuriated and asked why were they seated ahead of us, and all I heard was her stumbling, because she was wrong. No apology, or correction so I did the next best thing and gave them both a tongue lashing so to speak. I will never go there again, because clearly they like their own. I'd rather spend my time and money elsewhere. We decided to go to Jay's Diner, the food was delicious, and the waitress (Sarah) was polite we gave her a huge tip. She even gave my grandson a special treat.!!!!
