Appetizers, top chicken skewers, pork buns, bottom octopus balls
    Deborah N.

Ok first time trying this place although it's been here a while, one of my students recommended it. Starting with appetizers we ordered the chicken skewers, pork belly buns and octopus balls! The skewers had leeks and were very good, the buns had good favorites but were a little dry and I thought dipping sauce would have made these better. I'm not an octopus fan but these had really fantastic flavor but the octopus was a bit chewy. Next were the entries, I ordered the Fried chicken with curry rice and my companion ordered the ramen noodles with steak. Both were good, she loved her noodles, I didn't care for the corn in my dish but other veggies in it were wonderful and the chicken had the right crisp on it! It's counter service if you eat in, they give you a number and bring it to you when it's ready! It's a self serve for water and utensils if needed. They do give you chop sticks and Asian spoons for soups! A number of tables if you eat in and a bank of tables if you are a solo diner at the window facing Mt. Hope. There are a couple tables for pairs and groups of four. These can easily be pushed together for larger groups but I could see where this place could get crowded at lunch! Many people came in just for carry out while we were there making it kind of cold where we were seated. When the weather is better I would order to go and find a nice lawn to eat at close by!

Ramen and gyoza was excellent, however the avocado was alright, it wasn't made with real fruit, but powder. Table seating is available, but limited.

So incredibly delicious! My daughters and I ate here last week and we loved it! My older daughter had been here before, and we gave her the task of choosing and ordering food, and we also all ordered bubble tea. For food, we shared pan fried gyoza, fried chicken curry rice bowl, and chicken wavy ramen. Let me just say that we loved every single bite, and there was nothing left over! The flavors were amazing and the chicken was so wonderfully tender. The bubble teas were perfect as well. Prices were fair and the relaxed atmosphere was perfect. Definitely recommend!

Had wavy ramen with Pork belly in spicy pork bone broth and dry seaweed and egg in it. 8/10 (not enough meat in it) The drink was so good though, I got large strawberry fruit drink.

On the plus side, crave offers easily customizable ramen bowls (which really hit the spot in the colder Rochester temps). I stopped in again today (brought a friend with me to introduce them to the ramen experience) while it was snowing a bit and windy outside... our warm ramen bowls offered a great reprieve. When you're done with your ramen (I recommend eating at the restaurant vs getting takeout), there's an area easily accessible for leaving your tray and dishes (be sure to clean up after yourself). Restrooms are also available for paying customers. A bit more on the negative side, parking can be a pain (while I lucked out with a spot behind the building today, that's VERY rare... and getting out again was a mess with people coming from all directions). Also, when my friend was asking about some of the options, she got incorrect/inconsistent answers from one of the employees. Finally, I ordered a taro milk tea with boba to go with my ramen and my tea was seriously lacking in flavor. Taro milk tea is my staple drink order and the tea from crave left a lot to be desired. The ambiance at crave is inviting, while the staff are friendly. It's a nice option for ramen and has a good amount of choices... I just wouldn't call it my "go to".

Yum! Great spot, walkable from the hospital. You order at the counter and then seat yourself, quick and easy. Prices were reasonable. Both the ramen and gyoza were delicious! You customize your ramen to be exactly what you want.

This place is great! we used to frequent Taichi bubble tea but went to this place finally due to timing constraints and I think I like this place's noodle, sizes and bubble tea better. Bubble tea- the perfect amount of sweet. Most places do bubble teas too sweet and you have to ask for half sugar, full, or titrate but this was just right. We got the taro one and it was the best taro tea I've had in a while Their ramen comes in various proteins-- chicken, tofu, beef, pork and I would say all are solid choices. I think this place's meat is better than tai chi. Has a premium home made feel with that beautiful caramelized glaze on the outside whereas tai chi feels commercialized like it came from a package. The broth was good- The portion I'm sure was 1.5 times the size of its competitor. we were super full but the soup was perfect. Good toppings that gave a good balance of textures- carrot, mushroom, edamame, bamboo shoot, seaweed, fishcake. The takoyaki was good- a little pricey compared to Taisho bistro but still very good. Would highly recommend the buns- we got the pork belly ones which are always solid no matter where you go but again this place makes a good meat. that caramelization and glaze on it? top notch. Would come back- new fav ramen spot here in Rochester over Furoshiki, Taishi, Taichi.

    Eating area and meal.

The beef and spicy beef ramen is always good. The strawberry smoothie is tasty as well. The people taking the orders could be a bit friendlier.

I love their ramen and rice bowl. It's perfect hot and delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Crave has been open in College Town for a minute so we decided to pop in. First off, parking is iffy as they are right next to the Mt. Hope Starbucks and it's just a mess. Paid parking on the street, limited parking lot behind them or you can park across the street. We weren't too hungry so we didn't try the Ramen or Bubble Tea this time. But had a few snacks. The interior is clean and bright. The pork belly steamed buns came with a good amount of meat and the fresh veggies added a nice bite. The Gyoza were perfectly cooked as well with a touch of ginger in the filling. We'll return soon to try the Ramen.

This was a definite bright spot on our recent trip to Rochester. I very much enjoyed my chicken ramen with all add-ons and bubble tea. Service was super friendly and helpful and ambience was relaxed--highly recommended!

spicy miso with straight noodle and char siu (pork)
    Danielle S.

This is my new favorite place for ramen for two reasons: - deliciously crispy, thin-sliced char siu pork belly - straight noodles I prefer straight noodles to the wavy ones and not many places carry them. These were plentiful and delicious, chewy but not overcooked. The pork belly is AMAZING, though. So so crispy. I got the spicy miso broth and it was soothing and flavorful, especially nice during cold weather. I also got a strawberry milk tea with boba pearls and it was standard. Nothing crazy, but it wasn't super sweet (which I liked). I wouldn't go out of my way to get their bubble tea, but I want to try some of their other drinks, too. Stop in for the ramen for sure -- you won't be disappointed.

Strawberry sparkling tea - very good

Street parking is available, no charge for that. We encountered construction so we had to drive around for a bit but it was worth it. Seated immediately one arriving, we went with a couple appetizers- my personal favorite, the scallion pancake and the steamed bao with BBQ pork belly inside. That comes two to an order so it worked out nicely. Both were exceptional. The scallion pancake is like no other. Extra crispy, incredibly flavorful- and I love their dipping sauce. Vinegary, sweet and sour. The buns were pillowy soft and the pork belly was tender and full of that smoky BBQ taste. For entrees, we chose the Kung Pow Shrimp and the Singapore style curry noodles that came with shrimp, bbq pork, and beef. Both dishes were plentiful. The shrink was definitely spicy, you can see with all of the red chilies in the sauce, with the peanuts and celery pieces cut on the bias for a classy look. The portion on the Singapore noodles was very hefty...we upgraded our rice to fried rice so we had a lot of food today. All in all, this was an enjoyable visit. Since I am headed home tonight I wanted to be sure I had enough food to last me the rest of the day until I get back to ATL. This place ALWAYS delivers! Support small businesses!

We tried a couple of buns, the sauces were overwhelming and thick. the za cha Cheng noodle was decent once mixed together. we did also get the black bean beef noodle. It was way too salty, maybe it was from the black bean. The dumplings were a bit dry, maybe have some broth with it if they are steamed?
