Roc City ramen is a small cozy restaurant. The owner was there and greeted/talked to us. We were a little confused about the parking situation. Yes you can park behind the building. Food came out quick and it was delicious. Flavors were perfect. My husband said his soft boiled egg was perfect. We also got an order of the hand made dumplings. I was in heaven

Fantastic food great service, would definitely recommend if you are in the area. Great atmosphere

Brooklyn Ramen has been on my list for a while, but it's one of those places I always pass by but never have a chance to visit. It's a little homey, has that hole in the wall feel and mildly cafeteria like. Parking is a little tricky because it's in the back; I imagine it can get hard to get in and out if they get busy. Got the spicy miso and the beef curry. Price is 12$ for the ramen and 8$ for curry if I'm not wrong and we added the miring egg to add to the ramen. Ordered at the counter with 2 chefs in the back, and self service for putting back your bowls and dishes. Ramen: broth is definitely flavorful here, but it leans toward too salty for me. I could not drink the broth because the salt was quite overpowering. That, or maybe the broth became very concentrated in the pot from time. Noodles were ok, not rubbery and tasted fresh. The miring drunken eggs paired nicely with the ramen. If you're someone who likes strong and salty flavors, then this ramen is great. It may be too overpowering for others. Japanese beef curry: good flavor. Not dull or overwatered down curry mix. It has potato and carrot over good sushi like rice. I think Brooklyn Ramen's food is pretty good. Their menu is small but quality over quantity. The portions aren't big, so you may get hungry in a couple of hours. I do wish that the presentation and aesthetics were a little better, because that can add to the dining experience. Bowls were hard plastic which made the dish rickety despite it's strong flavors. Most ramen is served in ceramic or china bowls. I liked their food to maybe come back, but I felt the overall rickety experience would have me go to College town's Tai chi bubble tea and ramen over this place for now.

The food was somehow better than before! Incredible! Love the small vibe of the interior, staff were amazing and food arrived fast! Always recommend!!

I was slow to come here reading reviews of small portion sizes, and yeah it's not like a giant bowl of pho but it's good and it's not like a dixie cup o soup. The beef curry is like a home version of beef stew with curry in it, good gravy, gravy, gravy. Tender flavorful and so much gravy. I had the spicy ramen extra spicy which was just right, the egg is perfectly cooked so order that little darling for sure. There's a reward card so I'll be a regular soon, and I might just take you cause then I get more stamps.

I really enjoy Asian Cuisine and it's nice that I can find a Spicy Curry dish when I'm craving that. I really enjoy what Mike creates here. The portions are perfect, the ambiance is subtle, and the food just draws you into it. Very Flavorful, yet very filling. It brings me back to Japan. I've eaten at both the Alexander location and at the Cornhill Landing location. The Cornhill Landing Restaurant has a larger menu including Sushi. If you're looking for a Japanese Curry dish, check out Roc City Ramen, tell Mike, Matt sent you, as you'll not be disappointed. I'm looking forward to going again.

Really homey atmosphere here. And the ramen is great! Definitely a place to check out if you're trying to find the best ramen places in Rochester.

Brooklyn Ramen was a great choice on this 2°F night. The inside has several tables and booths set up, plus bar stools at the counter. I ordered the Shoyu ramen and gyoza. It took a little while to place my order (with only two people in line in front of me), since the person taking orders was also helping putting the ramen together. Once I did order, though, it wasn't long before I got my food. It seems like they're still working out the kinks of their service model, but it didn't bother me too much since I know they opened up just a few months ago. The food was very good. The gyoza were freshly made and tasted great. The ramen portion looked small at first but was surprisingly filling. I thought the noodles were perfectly cooked (al dente). I've been to other places where the noodles got soggy pretty fast, but these stayed al dente. The broth was also fantastic. I'll be back to Brooklyn Ramen for sure. I want to try the Spicy Miso next. I'm glad Rochester has a dedicated ramen restaurant and I'm excited to see them grow! PS - They have parking in the back of the building. Don't park at the Dunkin Donuts next door.

Man I was expecting more. I'm coming from Houston where the Ramen is authentic and flavorful. This place smelled great, the staff seemed friendly enough, but the food...man on man. I ordered the tonkotsu and my husband got the miso. My broth had no flavor to it. Tasted like water with pork. The noodles were cooked well and the ingredients seemed fresh, but it was not at all savory. My husband's miso was slightly better. It had a bit more depth to it, but very different from the Ramen I am used to. Unfortunately, we will not be back to this place.

I've had so many bad ramen experiences from not so big cities before but this ramen shop was a pleasant surprise. This is a self service type restaurant where you order your food from the counter and pick it up yourself. There's a pitcher of water and cups available for you to get if you are not ordering drinks. I ordered the spicy miso ramen and the broth had great deep flavors and umami. The noodles quality was also decent and has that firm ramen noodle texture as it should. I wish ordered the egg; I was not aware that the egg had to be ordered separately at the time. The only downside about this place is that for the price I think they can have a larger portion or just create a larger portion option in general. Overall I would recommend this place for a quick bite.

Ask the Community - Roc City Ramen

Where is the menu listed for take-out orders?

Brooklynramenrochester.com Same for Facebook and Instagram Have a great day!

How are the vegetarian options?

Yes. We have a vegan/vegetarian miso ramen. Our noodles are eggless. If you chose to get the soft boiled egg though, there in lies the difference. We also prepare vegan dumplings with tofu substituted for the pork and egg.

I was visiting family when in town for work, and had eaten at the location in Perinton years ago…read more Decided that I wanted to come back and try their location closer to downtown Rochester. Street parking is available, no charge for that. We encountered construction so we had to drive around for a bit but it was worth it. Seated immediately one arriving, we went with a couple appetizers- my personal favorite, the scallion pancake and the steamed bao with BBQ pork belly inside. That comes two to an order so it worked out nicely. Both were exceptional. The scallion pancake is like no other. Extra crispy, incredibly flavorful- and I love their dipping sauce. Vinegary, sweet and sour. The buns were pillowy soft and the pork belly was tender and full of that smoky BBQ taste. For entrees, we chose the Kung Pow Shrimp and the Singapore style curry noodles that came with shrimp, bbq pork, and beef. Both dishes were plentiful. The shrink was definitely spicy, you can see with all of the red chilies in the sauce, with the peanuts and celery pieces cut on the bias for a classy look. The portion on the Singapore noodles was very hefty...we upgraded our rice to fried rice so we had a lot of food today. All in all, this was an enjoyable visit. Since I am headed home tonight I wanted to be sure I had enough food to last me the rest of the day until I get back to ATL. This place ALWAYS delivers! Support small businesses!
