Great place overall! Great atmosphere! Great food! Reservations are iffy. Parking is iffy. Make if you use the pay lot you pay for EXTRA TIME BC YOU WILL GET TOWED and fast! Anyway, I highly recommend you celebrate Chinese new year here with their special menu. Yum yum

Updating my review...chance after chance. This is a picture of how much protein existed in my order after the bowl full of peppers...

I ordered take-out, so I don't know what the inside/atmosphere of the restaurant was like. I got the Seafood Dry Pot. It had scallops, squid, fish, and 'jumbo' shrimp in it (which was honestly more medium-sized than jumbo) with lots of vegetables and peppers. My food came hot and my request for wood-ear mushrooms and no deep-fry was honored, so I think that the service is very nice.

Best spot for some authentic Chinese food! They have an extensive menu with tons of styles, ranging from classic Szechuan to Chinese-American dishes, and the spice levels of some dishes are amazing for spice lovers! I've been here multiple times and always look forward to trying new dishes. Some of my favorites are the crispy chicken and cumin lamb. The restaurant is in a plaza on park ave and provides 2 hours of free parking when you check in. Service is nice and friendly, although they can get pretty busy dealing with takeout orders as well. The decor and overall vibe of this place is upscale and authentic.

L16. Sauteed Shredded Pork with Green Pepper Lunch Special
    Sara D.

I went for lunch. The place has an unassuming facade, yet inside it has a very pleasant decor and a Golden Throne, worthy of an Emperor/Empress. I chose the special lunch L16- Shredded Pork w/ Peppers & Spring Roll, Rice; Shu Mai Dumplings; Jasmine Tea Bubble. The pork dish was very tasty. I devoured it pretty quickly. The Spring Roll (vegetable) crispy came w/ a sweet & sour sauce. Good The dumplings came last; 4 small shrimp dumplings. They were full of shrimp, w/a dipping Soy Sauce. The Jasmine Milk Tea needed more ice, refreshing. I took it home and placed it in the freezer for 1/2 hours. Perfect. Service was attentive. I will be back.

Hands down the worst dim sum I've ever had. My to-go order wasn't even edible. Very disappointing.

Street parking is available, no charge for that. We encountered construction so we had to drive around for a bit but it was worth it. Seated immediately one arriving, we went with a couple appetizers- my personal favorite, the scallion pancake and the steamed bao with BBQ pork belly inside. That comes two to an order so it worked out nicely. Both were exceptional. The scallion pancake is like no other. Extra crispy, incredibly flavorful- and I love their dipping sauce. Vinegary, sweet and sour. The buns were pillowy soft and the pork belly was tender and full of that smoky BBQ taste. For entrees, we chose the Kung Pow Shrimp and the Singapore style curry noodles that came with shrimp, bbq pork, and beef. Both dishes were plentiful. The shrink was definitely spicy, you can see with all of the red chilies in the sauce, with the peanuts and celery pieces cut on the bias for a classy look. The portion on the Singapore noodles was very hefty...we upgraded our rice to fried rice so we had a lot of food today. All in all, this was an enjoyable visit. Since I am headed home tonight I wanted to be sure I had enough food to last me the rest of the day until I get back to ATL. This place ALWAYS delivers! Support small businesses!

It's consistent every time and the atmosphere is so quiet and peaceful. Staff are always friendly and nice and don't judge how much food the two of us can sometimes order haha. We will always go back to Chen Garden for Chinese. It is like hands down the best fried rice we have ever eaten. If you're ever thinking about it just try it and you will not be disappointed. Both qualities that I tend to like as long as a restaurant is clean... and Chen's was. The food was decent but nothing special. The garlic sauce didn't taste like garlic... More like brown sugar really. The sweet and sour wasn't great either. To be fair, the friends that we went with loved their dinners. The killer was the rude server. We had barely finished eating and weren't planning to linger but apparently finishing our drinks and chatting for five minutes was a bit too much for him. He told us that there were customers waiting and that we had to leave. I might note that there were a few empty tables at that time but even if there weren't that poor behavior was uncalled for. We won't be going back to Chen's.
