I got the small beef lo mein, and it was the perfect amount. They put a lot of beef in it, which was awesome. The crab rangoon was crispy on the outside, and creamy inside. Everything was hot and fresh! It was very refreshing inside, and the tables and floors were clean. Everyone was very helpful and efficient. Searching for standard take out Chinese fried dumplings? Look no further. I love fried dumplings. Unfortunately, lately every place I order from serves Gyozas. That's not what I want from my Chinese dumplings. My heart and stomach want bigger thicker dough dumplings. I ordered online from rainbow wok and thought I would take a chance with my fingers cross that they too haven't converted to gyozas. I was pleasantly surprised when I showed up and they presented me with standard pork dumplings! Service was great. I walked in the door and they asked if I was there for dumplings. The dumplings were fresh and hot. They taste of garlic and ginger (because of the sauce) everything I could have asked for. I gave them a 4 star because I ordered online and had no idea how long my order would take. I never got a text or email saying it was ready. Rainbow Wok is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the Victor, NY area. Though the food is pure Americanized-Chinese food as are most Chinese restaurants in the US outside of large cities, other qualities make the restaurant shine. For one, the lady owner is super-friendly and helpful, bringing plates and utensils over for multiple family members when we eat in. And if you do decide to eat in, this is one of the few Chinese restaurants that actually has a good amount of clean seating space to do just that. The Chicken 'Mei Fun' (Rice Noodle) is pretty good and actually one of the more authentic dishes. If you are looking for authentic, go to Tsingtao House in Henrietta. Fried wontons were crunchy and a perfect deep golden brown, served w a side of sweet n sour sauce. Chicken on a stick was more red in color and more tender than other places. Wonton soup had big generous wontons and a richly flavored broth. Fried dumplings were really delicious - rich brown seasoning inside with the meat, almost like they had already been sauced, did not need to be dunked. Sesame chicken was perfectly crunchy and mildly sweet, white meat with firm fresh broccoli not bogged down w lots of sauce. A pretty solid offering, very common menu items, and decent quality. Quite frankly, runs about parallel with nearly most of the strip mall / plaza Chinese food joints. While there are 2 Chinese food take out restaurants close to my work, I prefer this one. My preference choice is based on the willingness to customize an order, cleanliness, friendly staff, and quick & accurate orders. This crew nails that part, even if the food offerings are vanilla / standard, I can't hate, but I can't jump for joy either. Would I go here again, you betcha. They have great prices and decent quality of food, and are pretty close, so it's a win. It's just not a 5 star win for this guy. Skip the overly greasy stuff in the mall's food court and make the short trip across the street to Rainbow Wok. Consistently good. If you are looking for actually spicy General Tso Chicken, go here! I was pleasantly surprised to find that they really do make it spicy, as most Chinese places opt to lower the heat to make it more palatable. As of December 2021 they did not have indoor seating, likely due to the Omicron spike. You can order ahead online if you like. Everything was accurate in my order and the staff is friendly. I asked for my General Tso chicken a bit spicier, no dice, although it was flavorful. It has been a few years but I recalled it as being more spicy than it was this time. While there might be some others that have somewhat good taste, I found that Rainbow Wok has the best prices and the best tasting Chinese food in the area. I always get sesame chicken and fried rice, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon. It always comes out piping hot and fresh while the flavor is explosive! Meh, kind of average or even less than average. Egg rolls smaller than other places. They do NOT have WY Hot Sauce nor a real variety of sauces other than soy & spicy mustard When I get sesame chicken or general Tso's chicken I like it crispy but this place is very soft almost mushy chicken. Looks like they made the chicken then purred sauce on it in the middle so middle was saucy but not the rest. Street & sour chicken comes with a very small side cup of dipping sauce. Too small. Substitute rice for Lo Mein noodles has a $2 charge but not a $2 portion Portions overall a a little lacking. Other places fill to the brim but not these guys. Price is on par with most other places but food quality is maybe like an all you can eat at best. Maybe I'm just spoiled from the other places I usually go to & for my money I'll just keep going to those other places. They either need to lower their prices a little or increase the portions for it to be worth going back. It's not terrible food but it isn't any special. They were friendly & place is clean. Lunch specials also came with pork fried rice (or white rice) and an egg roll...all for just about $5.50 each. I agree with Evan that this is the best Chinese food in the Victor area, but honestly that's not saying much. The food is reliably decent, though, and until recently it had been our go-to spot when my husband wanted Chinese food. No more, however - in both of our last two orders they forgot to give my husband a large portion of our food when he went in to pick it up. Also, they have a tendency to give the wrong food. e.g. Last night my husband ordered steamed dumplings, but when he got home, fried dumplings were in the bag. This kind of thing has happened more than once. Given that we live on the Farmington side of Victor, the restaurant is on the opposite side of town, and they do not deliver, problems like these are a pretty huge annoyance. Unfortunately we will not be going back here anymore. Moral of the story: If you choose to order from Rainbow Wok, CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE. read more

I've had worse Chinese food but this is really pretty bad. The only thing I've tried that I thought was decent was the Hunan Beef and that's just passable. Simple things like their egg roll and dumplings were really bad. I gave it more than 1 star because I do like the Hunan beef and the prices are very reasonable. I used to go here all the time years ago and the food was fresh and they were always nice. Three times in a row now they have been downright snotty, even to my Asain girlfriend and both of us have gotten sick from the usual we order. Never had a problem with this place until the past year or so and has been the LAST TIME we ever go there. I ended up in urgent care last time because of the chicken.
