5 stars ~ Service, Food, and Location…read more First visit to King's Wok Chinese Cuisine in Farmington, and it was an excellent experience. I ordered the sesame chicken combination dinner, which came with pork fried rice and a pork egg roll. I asked if they could make the chicken with white meat and extra crispy, and they were wonderfully accommodating. Since sesame chicken often comes with dark meat, I really appreciated their willingness to customize the order. The service was fast, friendly, and welcoming. The owner even suggested that I eat there rather than take it to go, explaining that if you want it crispy, it is best enjoyed right away. That kind of thoughtful honesty and care really stood out. I had not realized they offered dine-in seating, but they have several tables and enough space for a small group gathering as well; see pictures. The food came out hot, fresh, and delicious. Sesame chicken is one of my favorite dishes, and this was definitely one of the better versions I've had. It had just enough spice to get your attention without being overwhelming. I enjoy a little extra heat, so next time I may ask them to kick it up a notch. I highly recommend King's Wok. It is conveniently located just off the Thruway on the way into Farmington or Canandaigua, with good parking and easy access to other nearby amenities. A great find, and I will absolutely be back. However Clarissa, one of the owners opened the door and let me wait inside. She was also our server and awesome to speak with. It's a nice cozy space right on Main Street Victor. Plenty of parking in front or out back. The food was great. We started with an "off menu" cucumber salad that was reminiscent of kimchi without the fermentation(see pic). My friend is more of a regular and asked for it. It was Delish, crisp, and slightly spicy but not overwhelming. We both had a soup that was a combo of the Somlar Machu and Num Banh Chok with Shrimp. It had a great curry flavor with a bit of the sour hints you would find in a tom yum. It was just spicy enough to make you know it had heat but not too much to blow out your taste buds. I had to run out for a meeting and left behind too much broth. Should have gotten it to go as I would rather drink that than bone broth any day. Sorry no pic of the soup but trust me you would have been drooling at the pic. Definitely recommend giving it a try and I will be back.

The wait staff Clarissa is extremely nice and helpful especially if you don't know what you want to order and will explain what flavors and taste you will get from each dish. While nothing has…read moreactually changed to the appearance of the place, the food has made a major upgrade in freshness and quality. Chef King isn't a top tier Chinese restaurant so don't expect any fancy dishes or top-of-the-line cut beef. Chef King is a working-man's type of restaurant in the idea that anyone with $5 in their pocket can get a good meal. This rings true when it comes to their lunch special which ranges from $5-$6. My advice is to go with the classics at Chef King because it's the safest best. Sweet & Sour Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Lo Mein, Fried Rice, are probably the best route to go when ordering food here but to each their own. Even though Chef King isn't a place that's going to blow your mind it's definitely a better deal than Wegmans which isn't something that comes easily. Whether you're ordering pickup or delivery, the new owners have brought a new atmosphere and sense of pride that was lacking for the past 10 years.
