Ordered sesame chicken and steamed dumplings. Both were terrible. Chicken was dry and tasteless, dumplings were no better. Never again.

The chicken in the chicken with mixed vegetables wouldn't qualify for dog food. Egg roll was ok. Would not recommend.

Tastey food, generous portions at a fair price. Very kind owners . Delish sesame or orange chicken, Gen. Tso's chicken and Hunan chicken.

First time ordering from here. Staff, kind and courteous. Food was great. Non-grease soaked egg rolls and food prepared to order.

What happened to this place? It was always the stop to get higher than usual quality Chinese food…read more The prices were always higher than other places, but I didn't mind splurging once in a while because the food was so good. Fast forward , went this week and spent $90 on several dishes hoping to serve as meals for us for a few days. It was terrible. The dumplings were mostly dough, ate one and tossed the rest. The chicken dish was so bland , that even after trying to doctor it up myself , also went in the garbage. Hubbies pork dish was no better, the pork had a rubber consistency and the sauce was bland, joined the others in the trash. The egg rolls were excellent as was the wonton soup, but still doesn't make up for the rest of the order. Sorry but won't be returning. Sad because we have had so many good meals in the past. I guess nothing stays the same forever.

I've always been more than happy to pay a higher price compared to other local Chinese restaurants because of the spectacular quality, however. The price is now the same but with a subpar quality. Their sesame chicken-type dishes were always the best in town, super fresh and crispy with a uniquely good sauce. The past two times it's been nothing special, soft breading and not so fresh. The white rice has been hard/overcooked. Wonton noodles were not fresh. We ordered Mongolian Beef for $25 (significantly higher priced than other beef dishes) to only get about 80% onions. I would expect a bit more protein for the cost.

Don't recommend, too many better options nearby. I was at…read morean office next door and called in a take out order for Kung Pao chicken to pick up on my way out. It was right around noon and I picked up the order 10 minutes later. I wasn't really paying attention when I scanned my card but somehow an order that was listed as $9.95 on the menu (+$1 up charge for noodles) came to over $15? So wayyyy overcharged. The up charge for the noodles was NOT worth it. They tasted old, like left over from the day before old, and not even fully reheated before I got them, some parts of the noodles were still cold. The chicken was rubbery and not spicy at all, which is what I wanted, Kung Pao is supposed to be spicy, they even note on the menu that it is. I had to ask for cutlery and the hostess acted put out that I wanted it. It's dusty and run down inside and out. No one in the parking lot and I was the only take out order waiting when I went in, at lunchtime on a busy Friday, so that probably says a lot. I won't go back, there are too many other options around here.

Service is still very good. Ambiance however is tough. It is dark and disorganized. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling all over the place and menus are sticky.

It's consistent every time and the atmosphere is so quiet and peaceful. Staff are always friendly and nice and don't judge how much food the two of us can sometimes order haha. We will always go back to Chen Garden for Chinese. It is like hands down the best fried rice we have ever eaten. If you're ever thinking about it just try it and you will not be disappointed. Especially with the free tea and wonton strips to start off your meal you can't go wrong.

Both qualities that I tend to like as long as a restaurant is clean... and Chen's was. The food was decent but nothing special. The garlic sauce didn't taste like garlic... More like brown sugar really. The sweet and sour wasn't great either. To be fair, the friends that we went with loved their dinners. The killer was the rude server. We had barely finished eating and weren't planning to linger but apparently finishing our drinks and chatting for five minutes was a bit too much for him. He told us that there were customers waiting and that we had to leave. I might note that there were a few empty tables at that time but even if there weren't that poor behavior was uncalled for. We won't be going back to Chen's.
