My wife and I love Chinese Food. We tried Spring Garden because of the rave reviews and location to where we live. We have been to many Chinese restaurant's over the year's and Spring Garden is absolutely the best in town. It puts every Chinese restaurant to shame. This is my go to Chinese take out. Typically the food is very good and the servings are large. The only way issue is that sometimes a child answers the phone and my order has been messed up a couple times. Always make them read back the order before you hang up and it should be all good! read more

Ordered spring rolls, sweet & sour chicken and muse pork. Love Chinese but this take out restaurant is way over rated - could not eat the grease spring rolls, chicken was so tough ate less than 1/4 trashed the rest! Pork was also very poor quality! I've never had such tasteless food. I love Chinese food in most restaurants in the city of Rochester. I tried Spring Garden in Webster a few years ago and it was horrible then but today I read multiple positive reviews and thought that maybe they had hired a new cook but unfortunately the food was still lacking flavor, the fried rice was not completely cooked and was very bland. I've been a customer for three years. The food is tasty, sure enough. But Spring Garden are shamefully stingy tightwads. Once, a friend and I ordered two separate orders and we both asked for a side of spicy oil. She gave us only one, saying one was for both of us to both dunk our food into (that's unsanitary). They have also tried to get away with not including napkins and plastic utensils for take out orders. Don't they realize that makes a good customer feel insulted? And the prices are higher than average. The portions are shrinking. They have cut back their hours. Closed Mondays and open only till 9:30 instead of 10:30. Recently, I arrived at 9:35 but the door had not yet been locked. Instead of greeting me, a good customer, she only said, "We're closed." NEVER AGAIN. read more

The 'beef' wasn't edible (on the verge of going bad and a rubbery texture) and the sauces on both dinners was very dark and bitter. The fried rice seemed to have been made a few days in advance. Not a great take out experience; the egg rolls were extra greasy and a little over-cooked. I asked for white rice and he even asked if I wanted steamed rice, which I replied, "yes" but I still ended up with the fried rice. The wonton soup was greasy and had no flavor. When the craving for Chinese kicks in at almost 9 pm, this is our go-to. We've tried a few other places since we've been here and none have impressed me as much. Friendly and always fast. I've never had a rice mix up or greasy egg rolls or anything from here I haven't liked. I'm kinda picky about the taste of my general tso chicken and theirs has always been spot on. I am fairly new to Webster and very picky with my Chinese. The first place I tried was on Hard Road and it was not good, my go to Meal is sweet and sour chicken, which wasn't bad but their rice wasn't the yellow pork fried rice. I always order a vegetable egg roll and their egg roll came with the spring roll type wrap which I'm not a fan of. Spring Garden far succeeded my expectations comma I did a phone order because they only have pickup and it was ready in 10 minutes. Upon arriving home and unwrapping my meal I was pleasantly surprised to see it was the yellow pork fried rice and the type of egg roll wrap that is on a pork egg roll period they give a huge amount of sweet and sour sauce to dip your chicken in you won't run out, and the portion sizes for the dinner combinations we're in those normal white containers filled to the top. Spring Garden is one of my favorite chinese restaurants to get Hot and Sour soup from. I have found it to be loaded with goodies. Not just broth. In fact, it is the only one that has actually put some meat in it. It had been a long time since I had Hot and Sour soup that I actually found some meat in it. On a scale of mild, medium and hot, I find the 'hot' to be mild. It is very enjoyable without being so spicy hot that I am unable to enjoy it. I wanted chicken noodle soup for lunch today. Was thinking about Panera or Wegmans then I remembered Spring Garden. The chicken noodle soup came with a packet of fresh, delicious egg noodles as well as a fortune cookie. The soup was absolutely delicious. Hands down the best Chinese restaurant on the east side of Rochester. I recommend this restaurant highly. read more
