This is the first time my wife and I have ordered from here. I ordered a beef, chicken, shrimp and broccoli with garlic sauce. My wife ordered a sesame chicken combo. I ordered over the phone and got there about 15 minutes later. When I got to the place, the food was ready about a minute or two after I finished paying. Treat this place as a takeout restaurant. If you plan on eating at this location don't be surprised that it is not anything special. The food was delicious. My garlic sauce dish was properly spicy. My wife's chicken was crunchy. Both foods were sauced well. The only slight negative (but not really) was that the egg roll was just okay. For the amount of food and the quality, the price was just right. I haven't been to see Tony and his family at Magic wok in a couple years since I moved but I can tell you all of the food my family and I ate there was the best. I live in Florida now and have not found a place that makes worth while sesame chicken like Tony did. I had high hopes for this place but wow...all 3 things we ordered were kind of terrible. Both noodle dishes were incredibly bland and flavorless. I assume this is due to most Chinese restaurants in the area not using MSG, which is a shame. Soy sauce didn't help at all. The cheese wontons/crab rangoons were basically cold, and very fishy tasting. Very little cream cheese in them. I couldn't even eat a whole one. Really unappetizing. Staff was nice at least. The food is always hot, fresh and quick. Only downside is not much seating inside. Take out at its best.

Magic Wok is my go to Chinese place in Ontario, NY. I am picky because I have a sesame allergy and I work with the place that takes that seriously. Since moving here to Ontario, 5 years ago, we tried Hai Ru and Magic Wok and hands down Magic Wok won. I go here about once a month. I love it! The owner Tony is very friendly. In fact everyone there is friendly and helpful. If you don't see something on the menu that you like, just ask them about it. They can probably make it for you! Also, all their food is without MSG. As another reviewer noted, they do not accept credit cards. It is cash or check only. It wasn't the worst I've had but lacked flavor. I'm not sure where they learned to cook but it is far from authentic and far from super good. They could learn a few things from PF CHANGS. Hell maybe if they stop americanizing the food so much it may improve. If you don't have good taste buds then you won't miss much. This was our first order, we picked it up. My mom got the vegitarian broccoli with garlic sauce. Online it said comes with white rice...it had pork fried rice in the same container with the broccoli. She had to throw it out. Also my son threw out his dumplings...didn't taste good. Oh and there were no free crunchy noodles and no soy sauce in the bag. This place is great! They have a pretty good size menu, and everything I've gotten has been delicious. I would definitely recommend the chicken with broccoli as well as the crab rangoons. Back in 2014 I wrote a review for this restaurant and give it excellent 5-star rating based on the fact that I've been there a number of times, more than 11 and have never been disappointed. The service was excellent, menu selection was the same excellent with friendly staff an overall great service. Over the past few weeks I have been returning between the hours of 5 and 6:30 pm to grab dinner before going home. I don't know if there are new owners or what has happened but I can tell you my overall rating for this restaurant now is 1 star. I ordered the beef and vegetable selection and when I got home I was sadly disappointed. There was an overwhelming amount of juice vegetables but only two pieces of beef? I also thought that the amount of food has been reduced substantially but the size of their container remain the same causing me to pause and look at my selection more carefully. Now this is happens 3x in the past few weeks and quite frankly I am sadly disappointed and probably will not return for further orders. I'm not encouraging people to pass this restaurant by I'm just reporting a change and what I have noticed over the past few weeks, I report you decide, thank you for reading. read more
