    PT. Moo goo Gai pan.
    Justin E.

Why are all the best Chinese food restaurants in the most roughest neighborhoods? Not gonna lie..I don't find myself around North Clinton Ave...ever. My brothers coworker told him Wang's had really good Chinese food though..so the other day we decided to give it a try. These days I severely limit my carbs so I didn't order the things I usually would have like the pork fried rice, sesame chicken..and other carb loaded dishes. But what I did try I very much enjoyed. I had a craving for "moo goo Gai pan" so I ordered that..along with chicken w/ broccoli for my mother. She said it was the best chicken w/ broccoli she's had in a while..I did try hers and It was pretty good. I feel like moo goo Gai pan was a dish that I once could order and at any Chinese restaurant back in the day and it would always taste the same. This is not the case these days. It was nice having it taste like I remember in my younger days. I also had a pork egg roll and it was very flavorful..not the best egg roll I've had but it's hard to find a egg roll like I used to have in the 90s-early 2000s. Growing up trans fats were still a thing and made fried foods Soo much better. There's few Chinese restaurants that still use trans fats and I can tell instantly when they use them. Wang's does not. It's nice finding another Chinese food place to add to my "go-to" list. I plan on going back and ordering more things and I will update this in the future.

The food was great. Eat here often. Staff have amazing service skills and when they say 5-10 min they mean it.

The spot has that old-school Chinese takeout vibe: simple, clean, and focused on flavor, not flash. --- What I Ordered: General Tso's Chicken Shrimp Lo Mein Crab Rangoons Egg Roll Steamed Dumplings --- General Tso's Chicken: Sweet, spicy, and crispy - exactly how it should be. The sauce had a good kick without overpowering the flavor. Chicken was tender inside with that golden crunch. Easily one of the best in the area. Shrimp Lo Mein: Noodles were cooked just right - not too greasy, not too dry. Shrimp was fresh and had good bite. Could use a little more garlic or soy for depth, but still solid. Crab Rangoons: Creamy, crunchy, and packed with flavor. These were a hit. You get that satisfying crunch with the creamy crab filling - not overly sweet like some spots do. Steamed Dumplings: Soft and juicy with a flavorful pork filling. Dipping sauce was on point. Not doughy, just right. Egg Roll: Golden and crispy with a nice balance of cabbage and pork inside. Great with the duck sauce. --- Pros: Big portions, great value Fast service Hits all the nostalgic Chinese takeout cravings Clean and well-packaged Cons: Lo mein could use a little more flavor Limited seating (best for takeout) --- Final Verdict (8.9/10): New Number One Chinese Restaurant is bringing the heat. Classic Chinese-American dishes done right. If you're craving comfort food that hits every time, this place delivers - literally and figuratively. Perfect for a late-night boss fight meal or chilling after a long grind. Let me know what YOU always order from your local Chinese spot - and drop your suggestions for the next food battle

It's consistent every time and the atmosphere is so quiet and peaceful. Staff are always friendly and nice and don't judge how much food the two of us can sometimes order haha. We will always go back to Chen Garden for Chinese. It is like hands down the best fried rice we have ever eaten. If you're ever thinking about it just try it and you will not be disappointed. Especially with the free tea and wonton strips to start off your meal you can't go wrong.

Both qualities that I tend to like as long as a restaurant is clean... and Chen's was. The food was decent but nothing special. The garlic sauce didn't taste like garlic... More like brown sugar really. The sweet and sour wasn't great either. To be fair, the friends that we went with loved their dinners. The killer was the rude server. We had barely finished eating and weren't planning to linger but apparently finishing our drinks and chatting for five minutes was a bit too much for him. He told us that there were customers waiting and that we had to leave. I might note that there were a few empty tables at that time but even if there weren't that poor behavior was uncalled for. We won't be going back to Chen's.

Street parking is available, no charge for that. We encountered construction so we had to drive around for a bit but it was worth it. Seated immediately one arriving, we went with a couple appetizers- my personal favorite, the scallion pancake and the steamed bao with BBQ pork belly inside. That comes two to an order so it worked out nicely. Both were exceptional. The scallion pancake is like no other. Extra crispy, incredibly flavorful- and I love their dipping sauce. Vinegary, sweet and sour. The buns were pillowy soft and the pork belly was tender and full of that smoky BBQ taste. For entrees, we chose the Kung Pow Shrimp and the Singapore style curry noodles that came with shrimp, bbq pork, and beef. Both dishes were plentiful. The shrink was definitely spicy, you can see with all of the red chilies in the sauce, with the peanuts and celery pieces cut on the bias for a classy look. The portion on the Singapore noodles was very hefty...we upgraded our rice to fried rice so we had a lot of food today. All in all, this was an enjoyable visit. Since I am headed home tonight I wanted to be sure I had enough food to last me the rest of the day until I get back to ATL. This place ALWAYS delivers! Support small businesses!
