    a plate of chinese food

Enjoyed some lunch delivery from China Garden last week! The delivery is directly through the restaurant, though you can order right on GrubHub. Delivery came at the exact time it said it would, which was amazing and such a pleasant surprise. We went with the chicken cashew, wonton soup, fried dumplings, and spring rolls. Everything was hot upon arrival and there were some big wins and some major misses. Overall the cashew chicken was a bit of a miss for me. I loved the veggies included but the chicken was less than choice and the sauce not my favorite. I went with fried rice to go along with the cashew chicken and would recommend going plain white rice in the future. The dumplings were yummy, classic takeout chinese fried dumplings, and the spring rolls were a-okay. I wish the filled was a bit more chopped than stringy, if that makes sense. Wonton soup was lacking that MSG goodness and the wontons themselves were SO thick. I would likely order from here again given the convenience, friendly service, and overall a-okayness of the good options. Delivery came with fried wonton noodles. Enjoy!

I would probably visit again. The food was amazing but the owner's husband said a swear word in front of my son.

The spot has that old-school Chinese takeout vibe: simple, clean, and focused on flavor, not flash. --- What I Ordered: General Tso's Chicken Shrimp Lo Mein Crab Rangoons Egg Roll Steamed Dumplings --- General Tso's Chicken: Sweet, spicy, and crispy - exactly how it should be. The sauce had a good kick without overpowering the flavor. Chicken was tender inside with that golden crunch. Easily one of the best in the area. Shrimp Lo Mein: Noodles were cooked just right - not too greasy, not too dry. Shrimp was fresh and had good bite. Could use a little more garlic or soy for depth, but still solid. Crab Rangoons: Creamy, crunchy, and packed with flavor. These were a hit. You get that satisfying crunch with the creamy crab filling - not overly sweet like some spots do. Steamed Dumplings: Soft and juicy with a flavorful pork filling. Dipping sauce was on point. Not doughy, just right. Egg Roll: Golden and crispy with a nice balance of cabbage and pork inside. Great with the duck sauce. --- Pros: Big portions, great value Fast service Hits all the nostalgic Chinese takeout cravings Clean and well-packaged Cons: Lo mein could use a little more flavor Limited seating (best for takeout) --- Final Verdict (8.9/10): New Number One Chinese Restaurant is bringing the heat. Classic Chinese-American dishes done right. If you're craving comfort food that hits every time, this place delivers - literally and figuratively. Perfect for a late-night boss fight meal or chilling after a long grind. Let me know what YOU always order from your local Chinese spot - and drop your suggestions for the next food battle

The food has real, traditional spices and bold flavor. Nothing tastes watered down, and everything is seasoned the way you hope it'll be when you order Chinese food. Last time I got chicken fried rice, orange chicken, pan-fried dumplings, and crab rangoon. The fried rice was solid and well-seasoned, the orange chicken was crispy with a good sauce, the dumplings were nicely pan-seared, and the crab rangoon was fresh, crunchy, and hit the comfort-food spot. I've only done takeout, so I can't say much about the ambience, but it's centrally located with decent parking. Inside is traditionally decorated, and there's a giant golden throne in the lobby that's great for a quick picture. Service has always been speedy and friendly, orders come out fast, everything's packed well, and the staff is consistently nice.

The tofu was inedible; hollowed out husks with a spice level that was completely intolerable. The General Tso's chicken was pure mush. The crab dumplings had no crab. The egg rolls had no pork. The fried rice had no flavor. The rickety carts that the food is brought out on are filthy and clearly never been cleaned. I can't even imagine what the kitchen looks like. Can't believe we wasted our money. Just surrounded by clutter and mess and gross food. Be warned.

We tried a couple of buns, the sauces were overwhelming and thick. the za cha Cheng noodle was decent once mixed together. we did also get the black bean beef noodle. Street parking is available, no charge for that. We encountered construction so we had to drive around for a bit but it was worth it. Seated immediately one arriving, we went with a couple appetizers- my personal favorite, the scallion pancake and the steamed bao with BBQ pork belly inside. That comes two to an order so it worked out nicely. Both were exceptional. The scallion pancake is like no other. Extra crispy, incredibly flavorful- and I love their dipping sauce. Vinegary, sweet and sour. The buns were pillowy soft and the pork belly was tender and full of that smoky BBQ taste. For entrees, we chose the Kung Pow Shrimp and the Singapore style curry noodles that came with shrimp, bbq pork, and beef. Both dishes were plentiful. The shrink was definitely spicy, you can see with all of the red chilies in the sauce, with the peanuts and celery pieces cut on the bias for a classy look. The portion on the Singapore noodles was very hefty...we upgraded our rice to fried rice so we had a lot of food today. All in all, this was an enjoyable visit. Since I am headed home tonight I wanted to be sure I had enough food to last me the rest of the day until I get back to ATL. This place ALWAYS delivers! Support small businesses!

While visiting on a cool night, the Dan Dan Noodles sounded really appealing to me, and they did not disappoint! The bowl was a large portion with a good amount of noodles and tender, juicy ground pork. The broth was hot and spicy, but also flavorful...the heat was not too overpowering for me. I was very happy with my meal, but also happy to taste some other items we got to share. Edamame always seems like a good way to start a meal...these were overly salted for my liking. The scallion pancake was okay...a little small with just four thin pieces. More successful were the namesake dumplings. I really liked their versions of Xaio Long Bao - both the original pork and shrimp varieties contained delicious broth and fillings. We also shared the pork and chive dumplings, beef dumplings, and pork and corn dumplings...and we would order all of them again! The orange chicken was also an enjoyable dish to share, and good way to add some variety to the plethora of dumplings. I'm sure they get a lot of young customers from RIT and UofR, and the music catered more to this audience - it was a bit loud for my preference. But, service was very good and it is a fun casual environment to enjoy some good, reasonably priced chow with friends!
