Even during quarantine Nosh came through for us. We celebrated our anniversary last weekend and went with Nosh for our dinner in. The ordering process was super easy online and pick up was without hassle as well. We spent way less than we usually do when we go out and got soooo much food, and that's including tip! Everything was packaged great and the food was still hot when it got home (though we don't live too far away). We ordered our usual favorite, the Korean sit down. We also got the Noshos and the green curry dish. Everything was so good! Nosh did not skimp on the portion or flavor on the Korean sit down, if anything I think we got more meat than usual. The side dishes such as the pickled veggies, rice and buns were neatly packaged separately from the meat in their individual containers. The meats, especially the kalbi and pork belly were soooo tender. The Noshos were as fantastic as I remember them. How do they keep those wonton crisps so crispy despite it being takeout and smothered with a bunch of toppings?! There was no shortage of tuna chunks either! The curry dish didn't get proper attention during our first sitting because we were so full already, but it was so good the next day. There is an abundant of veggies and crispy tofu squares on top of a bed of rice. The curry sauce is on the sweeter side and had excellent flavor. The portion of course is also big. My coworker and I had just had cheese and wine at Living Roots so I planned on doing a smaller dinner... our plan went by the wayside here. She had the Milk and Honey salad and an order of the bulgolgi skewers, I had the Bistec and an order of the elote fritters. As if this place needs any more praise. I'm obsessed with it. Drinks are always the best way to begin - their cocktail list is always being revised, but they'll create something new if you ask. Being late March, I had an After Midnight and my wife had a Pear Necessities. Both. Were. Divine. The night smoothly switched from fancy to down home in the best way once our entrees arrived. The Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich is amazing, as is the aptly-named Is This Even Pizza?, which features the trifecta of ham, pineapple and chiles. Thank God for cloth napkins. I came here with my boyfriend and his dad and we had a really nice time! Our waiter was amazing and made us feel so welcome throughout the night! We all got the large seafood platter to share and really enjoyed it! There was so many pieces of seafood in it, fish, lobster, shrimp, mussels, and clams all in an incredible tomato sauce that I couldn't stop dipping my bread in! I had the tofu stir fry vegetarian option which was very good and it was spicy and very filling and could only eat half and it will be tomorrows lunch for me. This was my third time coming here, and each visit has been 5 stars! First visit was with my husband on our anniversary last year, second time was with coworkers for apps and drinks, and my most recent visit was with the girls for our girls night out! I decided on the Pacific Rim as my entree, and I was not disappointed! The pork belly literally fell apart when I put my fork in it, soooo tender. The scallops were huge and flavorful! There were fried mushrooms on top which added some crunch and I could've eaten those as a snack! I snapped photos of a couple of the other entrees ordered, including the Under the Sea & Landing Strip, both of which were amazing! Yes, we all tried each other's food because why not? I was stuffed, but it's only girls night once a month, so we said yes to dessert! I ordered the turtle cheesecake with an espresso martini (YOLO) and devoured, with some help, all of it! Found this place on Yelp when we went to Rochester for the 2023 PGA Championship. I would make the 6 hour drive back just to have their food again. Portions were generous but delicious. We had the Pork Belly, the Al Pastor Chop and the Risotto. Despite being full, we made room for fried dough nibs... which is a must, the raspberry jam they are served with is heavenly. Every bite was full of fun flavors and textures! My daughter, son-in-law, and I visited last night. The place has a trendy and upscale industrial vibe. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive! She checked on us appropriately and often enough to have drinks refilled, etc. At one time, my daughter dropped a napkin and a hostess or some lady working from the front noticed. She quickly brought My daughter a new set of flatware which was wrapped in a hefty napkin. Appetizers were the pork belly in steamed buns and the noshos. See pictures! The pork belly was so tender and melted in your mouth with the soft steam buns and the perfectly subtle peanut sauce. It's something to savor every bite. Three good-sized buns came out skewered on the plate. The noshos is the Asian nachos version with ahi tuna, lettuce, fried wontons, nori strips, etc. The sauce combining everything was incredible, and the three of us had 3 big nice portions each! Do the math! It feed plenty for $15. We realized in hindsight that we could and should have stopped there. I got the steak and noodles (reminded me of a meatier chap chae), with wonderfully tender and seasoned steak. Glass noodles and vegetables accompanied. A sunny-side up egg topped the dish, and it was filling. My son-in-law got the lobster ravioli! Came in a cream sauce and was rich and delicious in every bite! My daughter got the Korean chicken sandwich. She could only eat half. I tasted. That chicken was super juicy for being fried. Lots of times the chicken can be dry but not for this sandwich. The flavor surrounding the coating was just right, and the sandwich had a nice slaw on it. The plate was loaded with teriyaki French fries. They were so unique and so good! A gentlemen came over. I would assume he was the owner or manager. So nice, and he asked how it was. We were able to chat a bit! Was impressed with the friendliness of this place. The restaurant has an open feel with big windows on the street side, high ceiling, and kitchen open to the eating area. Very busy chefs and a very happening place. We were so glad to come in at 5:30 with reservation. The place filled up quickly. Oh...daughter got a blueberry chipotle mixed drink. Son-in-law got one of the tap beers. Both said they were excellent. My daughter said the mixed drink was perfectly balanced with nothing coming through too strongly to ruin it. Always one of my favorite restaurants! I was just here for a few cocktails and light dinner with my girlfriends! We had the Ahi nachos (which were outstanding!!!), $16 and the margarita type pizza, $15. We ate at the bar and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Every time I am home, I feel like Rochester has another great restaurant to dine at, and Nosh exceeded all expectations. My dad and I split the seafood platter and it was fantastic: jumbo seared scallops and garlic, jumbo grilled shrimp, a huge portion of four different grilled veggies, charred bread, and a mixed pot of a dozen clams and mussels in a light red sauce. The only suggestion I'd make would be to order a side of hot butter to dip the scallops and clams. Overall, the service was great, the wine was very solid, and the platter could have easily fed a third person if we had not been absolutely starving. After hearing all the buzz for months we finally made it here. The space is really nicely designed and despite the hip industrial setting it is not as crazy loud as other similar spaces like Good Luck. A reservation is a must even on weeknights if you don't want to dine after 8:30. The most outstanding aspect of our dinner was the excellent server, Lindsay. She was a great ambassador for Nosh. She explained the menu since it was our first time here, made recommendations, was just attentive enough without being intrusive, and was just darn right pleasant. The menu is different and interesting with Asian inspired flavors. There are many tempting choices. We tried the Chicken Wangs appetizer which was pretty good - I actually liked the dipping sauce more than the wings themselves. For our mains we had the salmon and the Seoul Food (Short Ribs with fried kimchi). The sauce on the salmon and quinoa was fantastic and the salmon was perfectly done. The short ribs were good but the sauce on the potatoes and veggies was even better. The price for drinks was on par with most places of this caliber and the same for the food. On our first time there, my husband and I ordered a couples drinks and an appetizer. I must mention we went pretty late on a Friday evening which is why it was mostly cleared out but I'm assuming it's just a bit more crowded and louder when it's actually 'hopping'. We didn't try their entrees but what we did have, we enjoyed. The bar area is amazing, it's nothing like I've ever seen, the selection is huge. Wasn't a fan of any of the cocktails on the menu but had the bartender make me something with things I mentioned I enjoyed. The food we did try was the Korean empanadas which we had two orders of since there were so good. Give those a try 5/5. Overall fair pricing and nice experience, give them a try. I've only been to Nosh one time but it was truly an experience. We went for "valentines." It wasn't on the exact day but we went the weekend following Valentines. We were lucky enough to still get reservations at 8pm a few weeks before the weekend we wanted to visit. We were seated as soon as we arrived. The restaurant was all decorated for Valentines with beautiful red hanging from the ceiling and decorations all over the tables. It looked whimsical when we walked in. It was packed and all the tables were full but we still felt like we had our privacy at our table. It was fun to watch different entrees be delivered to the tables. We saw the giant steak get delivered to the table next to us. There were 6 people there and they shared the steak and french fries that came out. I will say, it looked like they all enjoyed it very much. We decided to opt for the "noshos" as an appetizer since it came highly recommended. We are both tuna & sushi fan's so this seemed right up our alley. It did not disappoint. It was these crispy wonton type chips at the bottom, layered with sushi rice, cucumber, avocado, sesame seeds and heaping piles of tuna. The sauce on it was so good and we devoured it in minutes. My favorite thing was that it wasn't overloaded with rice or chips, so it didn't leave us feeling full or heavy before our entrees came out. My husband got the scallop dinner that was incredibly well prepared. Scallops can easily be over cooked and chewy but the chef working that night did his meal to perfection. The size was good since we had already ordered an app as well. I decided instead of ordering an entree to order two sharables for myself. I got the clams & mussel that are steamed in a pot with delicious juices at the bottom and bread on the side. Pro tip: save some of that bread and dip it in the broth that is at the bottom of that pot. Mmmm. I also got the steamed buns. These are so messy but the best meals in life are. I would suggest eating those right when they come out because after they sat for a while they didn't taste quite as good. We both were way too full to enjoy anything off the desert menu unfortunately but we both did have a fancy cocktail. I think the prices were reasonable for what we were getting. We knew going in that we were going to a more upscale restaurant. We felt the food, service, and wait times were great for the establishment being so packed. My girlfriend and I went out for our "Valentine's Day makeup" since we were unable to go out on the actual day. We visited during COVID 19 and the restaurant was quiet busy but social distancing was being used well. They added more tables out in the space behind the restaurant to accommodate more space during this time. We decided to start with the "Noshos" for an appetizer as I've heard many people liked them. Me and my sushi loving girlfriend thought they were great. They are enough for probably four people as we ended up taking about half of the Noshos home. Nosh is definitely one of the locals' favorites. My friends and I would occasionally go here for work events or personal hangouts, but it is on the more expensive/fancier side. There's a big parking lot. This place gets busy, particularly at prime dinner time, so reservations are highly recommended. The service is quite good, although when they get super busy, it can take a while before you can catch the waitress. Food comes out relatively fast, for the most part. One of my favorites was the Blackened Pork Chop, which was very flavory with a bit of crunch to it as well, nicely seasoned, though I no longer see it on the current menu. Hope they still offer it. If you're feeling fancy or dining on company's dimes, the Tomahawk is delicious - 45-oz bone-in ribeye with roasted bone marrow; can't go wrong with that one. read more
