I love all of the vegetarian options but my favorite dish is the steak and noodles. It's always super busy, so definitely make a reservation. The appetizers are much bigger than I was expecting and so delicious. We got the ahi noshos and calamari, both were incredible. For entrees, the bone in pork chop was cooked perfectly, the most flavored and tender pork chop I've ever had. We went to dinner for our anniversary. The staff was prompt and polite. The food came out quick. The appetizer was AMAZING! It was a deconstructed egg roll with tuna and we ate every bit. The entrees were unfortunately just ok. I had seafood and the broth was amazing but the seafood was bland unless I waited and soaked it in the broth. They were all fantastic. I also had the Jackie M. cocktail which had juices and Elderflower liquor. We also indulged in the beignets with apple butter. It was a large portion perfect for sharing and delicious. A little secret for food choices...there's a vegetarian menu in the drink menu that they set on the table. I've been a longtime fan of Nosh since they opened, and then I realized I hadn't written a review. I recommend calling for reservations as this place gets booked up quickly. Once you go, you'll know why. Chef Joe keeps his menus innovative and approachable with a melding of Korean flavors. They've recently updated their menu. At our last visit, we had the Run Forrest (ravioli, shrimp, heirloom tomato in a white wine butter sauce) and Gangnam Style (salmon, jasmine rice, spinach, pickles, kimchi) entrees. Thankfully, a fan favorite, the Ahi Noshos (tuna, cucumber daikon, salsa, shaved lettuce, nori, wontons, tobiko, sesame, unagi glaze, spicy mayo) remain on the menu. If you want to go wild and big, you must try the tomahawk steak. It's a 45oz. bone-in ribeye that melts in your mouth. It's huge and extravagant, but worth sharing with friends. They do seafood really well, their pizzas are comforting, and cocktails are creative. I've never been steered wrong, especially when asking for a recommendation from the servers. The take great care in creating a welcoming environment and the hospitality here is top notch. And if you order certain dishes on the menu, they benefit local charities and non-profits. read more

Absolutely loved this place! My boyfriend and I were visiting from Florida and stopped in for a date night. I started with a glass of red sangria and he started with an Oaxacan Man. Servers are always friendly and willing to give advice on drinks, apps, entrees, and desserts. Food: the food never disappoints! They have a vegetarian menu and food can be easily modified to be vegan. Every dish I've had has had wonderful flavor and unique combinations. There are several staples mixed with seasonal offerings. My friend and I shared mussels and clams, and Korean sit down. Both have big portion, especially the latter, HUGE. It has flank style short rib, 4 slice of thick pork belly and many strips of pork chops. Don't miss it, meat lovers! It comes with lettuce wraps, a bowl of rice, kimchi, pickles, 4 steamed bun wraps and gochujang (Korean hot paste). We took home almost half of it. I like the decor and the high ceiling. I have had two very excellent experiences at Nosh and one very poor experience. Before covid I had gone before a show at the Eastman theatre. We were a little late and it was super packed but they got us out quickly and kept updating us on the status of the food. The food was also excellent. The second great time was takeout - we got a bunch of Korean inspired entrees and appetizers and they were great. The second takeout experience was very poor. Some of the food was missing and I was only refunded for part of the missing order. In addition some of the food items (calamari and pork belly) were super chewy and bland. I would say most of the time the food is great, and most of the time the service in person, for takeout, and on the phone is great, but there are a few occasions where it falls very flat. read more

As a vegetarian couple, we struggled to find an upscale restaurant that served more than just expensive cuts of meat, but Nosh certainly fit that bill. They offer a stunning, industrial-chic atmosphere with a delicious and inclusive menu, and honestly, the prices are pretty great too. We started with two drinks - the "Jackie N" and "Smooth Criminal." I opted for the Jackie N because I tend to like sweeter flavors, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it had some sourness to it. It wasn't your cliche concoction of fruit juices. The Smooth Criminal is nice if you're a bourbon fan; I liked that it was served in a different type of glass than what you'd typically associate with bourbon. As for the food, it was truly incredible. We got the "Cali Swag" pizza, without bacon. I'm always hesitant to try arugula just because of how bitter it always seems to be, but the arugula atop this pizza was prepared so wonderfully that it was full of flavor and had no sharp bite to it at all. Honestly one of, if not the best pizza I've had in Rochester. The other entree we tried was the Bahn Mi Burger, but prepared with tofu! SUCH a delicious blend of flavors and easy to eat too. I always hate when burgers are so thick and messy that they are impossible to eat. The tofu had a nice, thick glaze, and the burger was not lacking in cilantro, which I love. (It would be easy to pick off if you don't like cilantro!) It was so, so good. Both of our entrees blended flavors so beautifully. We finished the night with an Irish coffee to split. Warm and yummy! For two drinks, two entrees, and a dessert, our bill came to only $65 (before a tip). Considering how amazing our meal was in every aspect, I was so pleased with that amount and was even expecting/willing to pay more. After waiting over an hour for our entrees, no one stopped to see if we needed another drink while waiting, after multiple employees walked by our table with dirty appetizer plates sitting which no one would take (I finally had to myself) I had to tell the waiter that if our food doesn't come in 15mins , we'll be leaving. Please bring our check and we will pay for what we had. Wouldn't you know the food came just as we were getting ready to leave. Food was about average btw. The hype around Nosh is warranted! I visited on a Saturday evening to celebrate my anniversary and was really happy with my experience. The restaurant was also celebrating its anniversary coincidentally, and when we walked in the hostess gave us some free champagne! We ordered the Ahi tuna noshos to start and they were amazing. The fried wontons, rice, and raw tuna were topped with eel sauce and spicy mayo, along with fish eggs and nori. It was a big portion, and probably my favorite dish of the night. For an entree I ordered the gnocchi with blush sauce and my partner had the wagyu meatloaf. The gnocchi was well cooked, not too chewy and not cooked to mush. The beef in the blush sauce was very tender as well. The meatloaf was not your grandmas meatloaf. It was moist and rich and was seasoned really well, my partner was a huge fan. We were too full for dessert but the menu looked appetizing. This place reminded me of The Revelry, with a slightly less stuffy atmosphere. The quality of the (not dessert) food is worth the price. From the current menu, the place appears to be a Korean-Southwest U.S. (like Arizona/New Mexico, not Tex-Mex) fusion place. Bulgogi skewer appetizer: build-your-own lettuce wrap with grilled onions, sticky rice and sauce. Would come here again for this as my entree. Corn fritters: we killed these quick and would order again. Stuffed chicken: great tomatillo salsa flavor, but the rice and textures were drowned into a chunky soup by the amount of sauce. Thank goodness it came covered in a lot of tortilla chip strips.l Wild Boar Ragu: my SO liked it more than the Stuffed Chicken. I thought it was kind of soupy, as I had to fish for a piece of beef. It was like Italian meets enchilada sauce. Wine list was okay, but when you've seen how much that bottle costs on the shelf at Lisa's Liquor Barn, it's a little harder to shell out the money while dining... The cocktails are very delicious and we felt more worth the money. They didn't have cheesecake at around 6:45pm, and the chocolate cake we got seemed like they should have brought it out of the freezer 3 hours earlier... It was like liqueur-soaked thin sponge cake layered with chocolate mouse that was still frozen, covered in thin fudge icing. From the other reviews, I'm guessing Nosh is having trouble in the pastry department. The waitstaff were great, and our waitress kept apologizing for everything that wasn't perfect. We really didn't notice, and we're well aware of how horrible COVID disruption was - and still is - for restaurant employees... They all deserve a little extra consideration and respect, especially when they did as well as our waitress and bussers. read more

100% my favorite restaurant in Rochester. I always suggest this to people from out of town. It may seem pricey to people but it is worth the $$$. If you want a reason to try a certain dish there are items on the menu that some of the money made off of these dishes are given to a non profit. I usually head here every chance I get. Their chef is Korean so many of their dishes have a Korean flare to them which is right up my ally. Their Kimchi is the best around & comes in from NYC. Ingredients are always fresh & tasty. Their menu changes every so often so look out for new & fresh dishes. Atmosphere is fun & trendy. Can be romantic or good for a night out with friends. Drinks here are unique & flavorful. Portion sizes are huge. I always split something or have left overs. This is also one restaurant in Rochester that I know my food will come out hot. Service is always out of this world! I always feel bad when I go out to dinner to catch up with a friend because I hate taking up a table for so long when the server wants to flip their table quick to make more money. So it was just before Valentine's Day I was trying to decide where to take my lovely Valentine and I was thinking because she's vegetarian we would go back to the owl house which the food is absolutely fantastic. So we looked up the menu and found that they were vegan friendly and decided I would change my Valentine Day's reservations from The Owl House to Nosh. We decided to make the dinner plans for Saturday night being it was more traditional. We went there and the parking was very plentiful and we walked in and it appeared a bit noisy no actually it was very noisy. LOL so I was getting a slight bit concerned and looking around the tables seem to be more like industrial picnic tables. I started to wonder if I made a mistake and thought I don't even know if we're going to be able to hear each other talk? Well the waitress seated us very quickly into a back area of the restaurant where the table was slightly large to sit across from each other to be able to talk but it was rustically nice. Our waitress Abby was wonderful. I explained to her that my fiance was a vegan and we saw it on their website but didn't see a menu in the restaurant. She said she would get one immediately. She did and there were many choices for her to enjoy. I asked Abby for just a house salad and they didn't really have one on their menu yet, but they made one up for me. It was just lettuce onion cucumber and a yogurt ranch dressing with chipotle and I got to tell you, I thought I was going to lick the plate clean. LOL it was one of the most amazing salads I've ever had. My fiance ordered 3 steamed buns with fried tofu, shiitake mushrooms, Napa slaw and maple gochujang glaze. And for her taste she said they were unbelievably delicious. :-) And for her dinner she had Squash & Kale butternut squash, red quinoa, heirloom kale, pepitas, pickled onion, first light chevre, and chili Maple vinaigrette. I had Filet Oscar which was 3 petite fillets, brown butter crab, ancho hollandaise, asparagus, green chili and cheese mashed potatoes. I don't know what I was expecting, but I got to tell you it was the most amazing dinner I've had since the Brewster Inn in Cazenovia on New Year's... the chef here is about as amazing as they come and extremely creative and his presentation is beautiful and the food is beyond words. We definitely will be coming back here to try other things. I ordered a southern comfort and seven with a cherry and I noticed that there were two black olive looking things in my drink and I found out that they were black cherries and they were so much more classy than a regular maraschino cherry by far. Great touch Then it was time for dessert we had the fry dough nibs made with homemade dough, caramel apple butter and powdered sugar. They were warm and delicious treat to the end of the evening. So if you're looking to take your wife fiance or girlfriend to someplace that may not be quiet but the food is out of this world and believe me you get a lot of it so don't be fooled by the prices you will definitely get your fill. We got a $100 gift card to Nosh so we decided to splurge on the Tomahawk. Soooo much food for 2 people, and plenty of leftover. If we order it again, we would probably get some appetizers and share with maybe 3-4 people. It's definitely worth the hype and experience. The waiter recommended we order the steak medium rare and as someone who doesn't like their meat too bloody, I thought it was just right! The Tomahawk is market price, and I've seen it range from $85-$100, but today we paid $110. Again not too bad considering it's a shareable dish. It comes with a 45 oz bone in rib eye, grilled red onions, one portobello mushroom, grilled whole garlic, tons of house seasoned fries, crostini, roasted bone marrow, asparagus, and a small dish of poblano butter that you can put on your steak or crostini. There's plenty of free parking in the back. They have changed the layout of the indoor dining tables and chairs around to maintain social distancing. All the staff were wearing masks and gloves, but I did notice customers congregating around the entrance and bar area who were not wearing masks or social distancing. read more
