Bar and interior is so cute. Food drinks and service were all great. We were able to get in for dinner on a Wednesday evening at peak dinner time with no reservation. Loved the Ahi Noshos and Braised The Soup.

Nosh was good, but didn't exceed expectations. I was 10 min early and I had to wait to be seated until my friend arrived. Service was a bit slow, maybe because it was a Friday night. We ordered calamari for appetizer. I ordered a milk & honey salad with breaded chicken. I was a bit surprised because other than the generous chicken portion (for additional $10), there was very little salad for $18. But, it tasted good! For dessert, we ordered chocolate mousse cake, it tasted good but the texture was that of a mousse cake. I tried to gauge the vibe of the restaurant, but couldn't label it, it was blend of industrial and high end diner. Anyway, it was a good experience. I do recommend this spot!

We went back for a visit to Nosh and hadn't been in a while. The original owners and executive chef are gone, and a new person has taken over (I think she's owned a few other places). The service is still friendly and professional, but I found the food lacking a certain umami. The one standout appetizer, the Tuna Nochos, used to be a must order, but this time it was just okay. The presentation was nice, but it felt like something was missing and I couldn't it my finger on it. The entrees sounded good on paper and were well presented, yet the flavors just didn't hit the mark. I used to come here for happy hour and always knew I'd get a tasty meal. Ever since the changes, though, the food just feels "meh." Maybe I need to give it another go... That's all I got. 3.5 outta 5

The bar filled up super quick on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving . I like the fact that the bar offers half portions of saratoga sparkling, not very common. The bartender greeted us quickly with several menus including dinner coctails and nightly specials. I was offered tastings of two dry reds before deciding. We noticed every bar guest had an order of the ahi tuna nachos. So we fell in line. A half portion is enough to share with crispy airy chips to scoop all of the poke avacado and delicious toppings. Next was a small plate warmed goat cheese honey drizzle with a pickled frise of peppers and endive. The combination of cheese sweet and spice worked. And when I say spice the peppers really delivered heat. The bar seating offers views of a lovely chandelier, sprial stair case, and well presented spirit shelving. Not to mention the staff constantly curating coctails and the sound of ice in a cold shaker. Despite the building crowd the acoustics are balanced when talking with friends. The interior has towering ceilings and a large dining area but there is a warmth once you settle in for the dining experience. Logistics, price extremely reasonable, location prime, accessibility with ease. We street parked with no issue. After several visits I can rely on Nosh being consistent and hospitable.

We came here for happy hour on a Thursday which is 4-6 Tues-Thurs. Not a lot of people there but the kitchen doesn't open until 5. I don't really like that the wine selection and drink selection is bartender choice for happy hour. Makes it harder to make a decision and it takes up more of the bartender time. When you go to a place that has a lot of craft cocktails it slows the service down enough already. Either way I ended up getting the Paloma and my hubby had a modelo. My drink was really good. The Bills game was later that night so we didn't want to order a lot of food so we only got the wings. They were so freaking good and the ranch dressing.....THE RANCH DRESSING!!!! I want to go back and buy some that's how good it is. I'd only eaten here once before a couple years ago but was happy to see it was same bartender. Can't really miss the curly hair. I'll be back next week for happy hour for sure and want to get the ahi noshos and pizza. We also want to go back for dinner while we are still in town. The decor is amazing and the spiral staircase reminds us of one of our favorite houses in San Pedro Belize. Bathrooms were clean although the paper towel dispenser is broken in ladies room. So happy they have men's room and women's room not gender neutral. That may sound weird to some people but I don't like toilet seats being left up etc or thinking about what a guy touches to use the restroom and not wash their hands after. There's plenty of parking out front and parking lot on the side. Good job Nosh. Excited to come back!

Nosh absolutely delivered on every level. The food was nothing short of phenomenal-- we ordered the Korean Sit Down and the Pollo Loco. Both dishes were packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was friendly, making the whole experience even better. And the ambience was on point--stylish, warm, and the perfect vibe for dinner with friends. I want to revisit Rochester just to eat here!

Took our good friends from LA visiting here and NOSH didn't disappoint. As a group we shared some various plates such as the Korean sampler with steam buns, ahi tuna nachos, and a few flat bread pizzas - the mushroom was my favorite. Nosh has a unique selection of cocktails everyone seemed to enjoy. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Our group raved about the food saying how good everything was! If your looking for a restaurant to take friends out that are visiting from out of town - make your reservation at least a few weeks in advance online for NOSH! Everything was top notch from the service, ambiance, to the food, and cocktails.

There are not enough good things to say. I travel regularly and tend to eat at higher end restaurants. Nosh has put something really special together. Between their INCREDIBLE food and drinks, I tried three of each and all were insane, and the great service this was one of the better restaurant experiences I've had. I highly recommend coming in and trying their food. RJ and the whole team should be proud of what they're doing. Beyond 5 stars for su

Nosh is still my favorite Rochester restaurant! They have a new owner and chef but many of the classic dishes (like the Ahi Noshos) are still on the menu. Tonight I had the Holy Cannelloni pasta with pork and it was amazing. Very rich flavor but not too heavy. I also tried the Hot Buns (pork belly bao with bulgogi sauce and Asian slaw) and the pork belly was perfect. Crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth goodness on the inside, and the slaw makes a nice textural difference to the soft bao bun. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was outstanding.

Love the decor.

Beeshaun was a great server and did everything that we needed. I ordered the lobster empanadas and husband ordered the prime pizza. The food took a bit, but Beeshaun kept checking on us. The food was absolutely delicious. I would've given the restaurant a five star, but it was so noisy. We elected to stay, but husband said that if we lived here, he probably would not come back because of the noise. As some of the groups left, it was less noisy. I love the decor, our server was wonderful. The food was wonderful... I was surprised it was so packed for Wednesday night. It is definitely a hopping place and it looks like everybody's having a great time. Just be aware of the noise because I know I have several friends that could not have stayed there.

My martini was perfectly mixed and ice cold! The food was phenomenal as well. I enjoyed the lobster risotto appetizer, chicken thigh with polenta and a delicious and complex mole sauce, and butterscotch pot de crème for dessert. The bar was bustling when I arrived, but quieted towards the end of the evening. The restaurant has high ceilings and an upscale but comfortable feel. I finally had the opportunity to eat out at REDD for a friend's birthday a couple of weeks ago…read moreafter years of trying to come. I really have to say - for the most part, the wait was worth it. First and foremost, I have to call out their drink menu - while ultimately we came to enjoy a nice dinner, their cocktails were by far the biggest star of the show, with our entrees trailing very closely behind. If you like to partake in alcoholic beverages, I can say without a doubt these are the best cocktails I've had in Rochester, let alone all of Western NY, and this is even put up against drinks from the likes of Cure, Bitter Honey, and Avvino. I don't know if the bartender is just using higher quality spirits as a result of REDD being an upscale restaurant, but the "Burn after Reading", "Wise Guy", and Manhattan are some of the smoothest, most delicious, multi-noted drinks I've had in my entire life. If I don't come back for the food, I will absolutely be back for the drinks, because my goodness, abso-freaking-lutely phenomenal. My friends and I still talk about them now even weeks later. For our entrees we had the NY strip steak, grilled chicken, and a poached salmon, and every single piece of protein was cooked just perfectly. The steak was a beautiful warm medium rare, the chicken was glistening with succulent juiciness, and the poached salmon which I had for my main is one of the softest pieces of fish I've had in my life. It beautifully flaked away on a bed of potato puree and extremely well herbed and seasoned home fry-like potatoes that were ever-so-slightly just-undercooked intentionally to act as a perfect foil to the gorgeously soft puree and salmon itself. If I were to knock anything at all, the winter squash, turnip, and green vegetable medley that came with the chicken and steak was unfortunately far too undercooked for my liking, almost to the point of being completely raw, and while I appreciate letting vegetables sing and respect the beauty of raw, fresh vegetables, I was hoping for a little bit more of chef-y flair, seasoning, or even cooking of them. Besides that, the wait staff was simply top tier and were extremely inviting throughout the entire evening. We felt taken care of and checked up on often and they were the utmost professional. The only thing that was a true negative was the desserts -- if there's one thing I would NEVER order at REDD again, unfortunately our dessert missed the mark entirely. My best guess is due to lack of a pastry chef, but our chocolate tart was muddy and flavorless, not even tasting of chocolate, and the two homemade ice creams we tried - chocolate, and oatmeal followed in suit. We ultimately wrapped up at REDD but then ran down to Char Steak & Grill at the Strathallan for what ended up being a phenomenal dessert experience there. But overall, I have to say - I will definitely be back! The entrees were awesome, the cocktails were life-changing, and the ambience and wait staff were without fault. Thank you for a wonderful experience, REDD, and see you again soon!

I enjoyed mine, but my dining companion's (the Saturn) tasted like straight juice. With dinner, I wanted to get a draft beer and was able to sample the two IPAs. While one was tasty, I didn't order one because the beer was lukewarm. I got a burger, and companion got the black cod. The burger is $32 and a full pound and served with a heap of fries. For the price, less than impressed. The overly thick patty was just too much. It was dry and just not for me. I would rather have two well-seasoned and juicy thinner patties. The fries and sauce were good. But not $32 worth of good. The cod itself was decent but it came in a sauce that was cold and odd tasting. Ambiance is fine. It was loud and crowded, but clean. Service was friendly.

It took at least another 30 minutes to get half of our drinks, another 15 to get the other half, and another 30 to get appetizers. The menu is different than other places, it goes from small to large plates and you order what you want and if you want more- keep ordering. My daughter got a flight of white wines and I got one of their beers, which was an interesting hazy IPA called Baby Kittens. Our waiter Philip was very knowledgeable on the wine selection and helped with the food order. We started out with the Flour City bread, which was toasted and had a dip of whipped ricotta with butternut squash - excellent! Next, we had the salt and pepper squid - their version of a fried calamari appetizer - also excellent with a nice little spice that snuck up on you a little bit. We followed that with the farm salad, which had a great cranberry vinaigrette. Then we had mussels which were over a jasmine rice that had a great sauce with it. The last dinner item we had was the butternut squash ravioli - so tasty! The table next to us got the fries, which was a huge mound of french fries with Parmesan cheese and I think something else on it. It was a lot of food. The waiter suggested their desserts, which was a choice of a huge slice of carrot cake or a skillet baked chocolate chip cookie or brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. We got the latter and it was excellent. The atmosphere was very subdued and great for a date or just a fun night out. I highly recommend visiting Carnegie Cellars!

Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences. We spent 2.5 hours total at the restaurant. After waiting an excessive amount of time, we watched two tables that arrived at least an hour after us receive their food first. When we politely asked if our ticket might have been missed, we were told those tables ordered before us, which simply wasn't true. We were then told the delay was because burgers take a long time but a nearly two-hour wait for a burger is pretty wild. It took about 25 minutes just for someone to take our drink order, and we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. We had to flag staff down for everything. No ketchup, no hot sauce, nothing offered. The $30 mimosa flight served in tiny glasses also felt like a complete scam. When the food finally came, two people in our party were served 15-20 minutes before the other two, and the food was cold. One dish had completely raw eggs. When I let the server know I couldn't eat it, she came back and removed the meal from the bill, which was appreciated. However, the interaction itself felt tense and dismissive, which made an already frustrating experience worse. They did give us a round of breakfast shots to try to help pass the time which was appreciated. The food itself was disappointing overall. The breakfast burrito was basically all eggs with raw, bitter avocado, and my husband's burger was missing requested toppings. We also noticed food sitting in the service window while we continued waiting. The only person who was happy with their meal got the biggie fries an it was hot when it arrived. To make matters worse, the bathroom was unheated on an 18° day (feels like 2°) and not clean. We're a pretty chill, patient group and understand that kitchens get backed up but man, this experience completely missed the mark. Ironically, the cooks thanked us for our patience and servers said goodbye pleasantly on the way out. We honestly may have let a lot of this go if the service hadn't felt so dismissive when we calmly raised concerns.
